I share my experience as a nurse of 15+ years and break down three main issues: explain how learning my Coast FI number changed my relationship with overtime and risk-taking, and I emphasize that identity—deciding “I am a nurse who invests”—is what makes tactics stick. Show up to the studio 100 times and make 10 dope songs. The pressure to create content distracts from the basic truth: making good music is the goal. In order to make good music, you must find yourself in the studio. If you're not showing up to the studio, you're not going to make anything, let alone anything good. Late London says: “Show up to the studio 100 times and make 10 dope songs.”This perspective also speaks to respect for the challenge inherent in making good music. It represents a conscious setting of expectations to prioritize showing up, removing pressure, and enjoyment in the experience of making music. Output is an artifact of process.Late's respect for the challenge of making music is also seen in the way that he participates and interacts with his community. Not having seen each other since college, he immediately asked me to send him a track and did not hesitate to say “this vocal should be loud and proud.”He limits himself to three working sessions on tracks to avoid over-thinking and exchanges works in process with other producers. They help each other across the finish line to get the best — not the perfect — version of a song and then they move on. This is because he also values forward motion. More can be learned and experienced through continuing than from staying in place. All of this is filtered through his expansive and dynamic lens of what it is to be a professional. Late London regularly shape-shifts between DJ, Music Producer, Event Producer, Engineer, and Educator — he is mentally flexible in how he arrives. There are many ways to make it as an artist, he reminds us that how we define it is our choice.ProducerHead is free to subscribe. The Wealthy Woman's Podcast | Save Money, Invest, Build Wealth, Manage Money, Overspending, Finances

If you make good money but still feel like you should be further along financially, this episode is for you. We're talking about what it really means to be a high earner, not rich yet, and why your income isn't translating into actual wealth. This isn't about needing to make more money. It's about what's happening with your spending, your habits, and the way your money is being managed behind the scenes. In this episode, I break down why so many high earners stay stuck and what's actually getting in the way of building wealth. We'll get into: Why making more money doesn't automatically lead to saving money or building wealth.  How overspending quietly keeps high earners from getting ahead.  The gap between earning well and managing money effectively.  Why building wealth requires more than just income, including spending, debt, saving, and investing. If you've ever looked at your income and thought, “I make good money… so where is it all going?” or felt like you should have more saved, less credit card debt, or more to show for what you earn… this will help you start connecting the dots.Because this isn't about working harder or earning more. It's about how your money is actually working for you.And once you understand what's really going on, you can start making decisions that move you toward real financial security and long-term wealth.CLICK HERE to save your seat for the Stop Overspending Masterclass that's happening on Sunday, May 17th at 4pm Eastern.

Title: Calm seas don't make skilled sailorsSpeaker: Pastor Denis MurphyDate: 22nd March 2026Location: Liverpool, UK "Calm seas never made skilled sailors." This episode takes a close look at the story of Jonah and what it reveals about obedience, trouble, and the kind of hope that does not waver when the waves rise. Starting in Jonah chapter one, the message walks through what happens when someone runs in the opposite direction from what God has clearly said to do. The storms that followed Jonah were not random. They were the direct result of his own choices. But the story does not stop there. It moves through Jonah's prayer from inside the fish, the repentance of Nineveh, and the surprising anger Jonah felt when mercy was shown to people he had written off. The contrast between Jonah's response and God's consistent mercy is striking. From there, the episode connects to Luke 8, Romans 5, 1 John 3, and Revelation 7 to build a picture of what it looks like to travel through hard things with Jesus in the boat. Trouble may come whether you are going the right way or the wrong way. The difference is what you are carrying inside, and where you are headed. The Cape of Good Hope was once called the Cape of Storms. Once sailors learned to navigate it, an entire ocean of opportunity opened up. That is the picture of faith moving through tribulation toward a hope that does not disappoint. Key Points: Running from a clear instruction from God does not change the instruction. It only adds unnecessary trouble to the journey. Repentance is not just a feeling or a sentiment. In Nineveh, it showed up as changed behavior, and God responded to that. Faith is active. Accessing grace requires action, just as Noah had to pick up the hammer and actually build the ark. You'd think making six figures would finally make you feel secure with money… but what if it doesn't?In this episode, I'm breaking down why more income isn't actually the solution to feeling stressed, anxious, or “bad” with money... and why so many women are still struggling, even at higher income levels. I'm sharing the “leaky bucket” analogy to help you see exactly where your money is slipping away (and why it keeps happening on autopilot). We'll talk about the real reasons behind overspending, lifestyle creep, and emotional spending, and how your nervous system, beliefs, and identity are quietly running the show behind the scenes.Because the truth is: no amount of money will fix a broken relationship with it.If you've ever wondered why your numbers look fine… but it still doesn't feel good, this episode will connect the dots and show you where to start.✨ Inside this episode: Why more money doesn't equal more security  The 5 “holes” draining your finances (without you realizing it)  How your nervous system and identity shape your money habits  What actually needs to shift to feel calm, confident, and in control This is deeper than budgeting. Episode 2 of 5: The Five Leadership Failures That Make Good People Quit (And How to Fix Them)

Bulletproof Business Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 6, 2026 31:57

Your team isn't lazy. Your system is broken. In this episode, we dissect the five leadership failures that kill engagement and drive your best people away. Spoiler: you're probably missing at least three of them right now. THE FIVE C'S YOU'RE MISSING: • Clarity: Only 7% of employees understand how their work contributes to company strategy. That means 93% are just checking boxes with no clue if it matters. • Context: Your team needs the why, not just the what. Without it, every priority shift feels like chaos. • Communication: It's not about more updates. It's about better ones. And making your team feel heard, not just informed. • Certainty: Humans crave data. Without clear metrics and feedback, your team is guessing. And guessing kills performance. • Consistency: Say it once, they forget. Repeat it 20 times, it sticks. Your vision dies in silence. THE CYCLES KILLING YOUR BUSINESS: **The Disengagement Spiral:** You lose it → they stop trusting → they stop showing up → you lose it again. Repeat until everyone quits. **The Broken Promise Cycle:** You commit → you get overwhelmed → you don't follow through → they stop believing you. Trust erodes one canceled meeting at a time. WHAT IT'S COSTING YOU: • Your innovation engine stalls (no one takes risks when they don't feel safe) • Your best performers leave first (and tell everyone why on Glassdoor) • You become the glue holding everything together while burning out REAL STORY: Sarah ran a 12-person marketing agency, working 70-hour weeks, in every project, making every decision. Her team was talented but disengaged. We installed the five C's: clear vision, weekly action reviews, one-on-ones, scorecards, consistent rhythms. Within 90 days, she had her evenings back. Within a year, 40% growth and a three-week vacation where the business grew without her. YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT: Answer honestly: • Does my team know the mission and how their role contributes? • Do I give them context or are they flying blind? • Is my communication effective or just overwhelming? • Do my people have clear metrics and know where they stand? • Am I consistent or do I break promises and cancel meetings? No to 2 or more? You're missing critical pieces. MONEY QUOTE: "You can't give your team the five C's if you're buried in chaos. You can't create clarity when you're firefighting. You can't build consistency when you don't have systems." **COMING NEXT:** Episode 3: From Bottleneck to CEO: The Identity Shift That Changes Everything. Because knowing what to do isn't enough if you don't have the infrastructure to do it. THE FIX IS COMING: This 5-part series builds to the Bulletproof COO solution. Don't miss it. Subscribe now.

With the Fifa men's World Cup looming ever closer on the horizon, James Emmett and David Cushnan consider the tensions between US host cities and Fifa's central organising committee over who pays for what and the overall value exchange around staging games - and the particular challenges Fifa is facing by staging this year's tournament in three democracies. They reflect on James' conversation with Bay Area Host Committee CEOZaileen Janmohamed, and her thoughtful perspective on evolving the model and ultimately giving host cities more flexibility.Elsewhere, they discuss the NBA's plans to hold an initial vote next week on whether expansion teams should be created in Las Vegas and Seattle, and the thinking and vision behind the league's bold growth plan.—-Leaders Week London has a new venue for 2026 - Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea FC on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th October. We've all been there at some point. There's an artist who does great work. We admire their talent, and we use their art as a model for our own. And then we learn the artist did something terrible in their personal life. How should we respond as Christian artists? Can we enjoy the art on its own terms and sift out the artist's mistakes? Or are the artist and the art so intertwined that we can't separate them? It turns out—shocker!—that this is a complicated issue with a lot of moving parts. But Matt, Mandy, and Christina do their best to walk through the different considerations and to give a framework for approaching the issue with care and intentionality.

Song: Make Good Trouble Music by: Angela Gabriel   Notes: I had the privilege of recording this song together with many members of my family -- and something happens on this recording that is very common in community singing -- I started in the key of A minor, and group wisdom decided that the key of A-flat minor, slightly lower, felt better in our collective voice! So you'll hear us readjusting together to reach an agreed sound, and what's cool is we all get there. Rather than rerecord to get an ordinary "perfectly pitched" recording, I decided to stay with the energy of the moment -- that really beautiful feel of connection that we had in that room -- because that's what this song is encourages. We support each other to speak up, to disrupt when needed, to make good, necessary trouble! You'll hear the six-year-old in the room leading some warm ups, and even a blooper at the end (never telling whose phone it was....)   Songwriter Info: Angela is a performer, a teacher, a facilitator, and a lifelong learner. Her mission in life is to facilitate expressive creative, musical, and vocal experiences and to encourage folks of any age and background to replace judgement with curiosity and open themselves to their unique, creative flow.   Sharing Info: The song is free to share but Angela always welcomes financial and/or networking support if/when folks are so moved.   Song Learning Time Stamps: Start time of teaching: 00:03:56 Start time of whole song: 00:09:21   Links: Angela's website: www.angelagabriel.me    Nuts & Bolts: 4:4, minor, 3 layers, each harmonized   Join this community of people who love to use song to help navigate life? Make the marinade by putting garlic, scallions, parsley, thyme and habaneros in a Nutri bullet small blender and add juice of a lime and one tablespoon oil. Set aside 2 tablespoon in small bowl.  Rub down chicken with orange and lime segments, squeezing the juice over. Place marinade on top of the chicken and rub the marinade all over the chicken firmly, massaging it in. Set the chicken aside covered for up to 25 minutes out of fridge or up to 24 hours in the fridge to marinade while you make your quick pickles. Continue with chicken by heating oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pot and sprinkle sugar in oil and warm.  Scrape most of the marinade off the chicken and place chicken in the Dutch oven, cooking until well browned, regularly. About 11-15 minutes.  Transfer chicken to plate and set aside, turn heat to medium low on Dutch oven, then add green bell peppers, and red bell peppers to the pot, season with salt and pepper, and cook, stirring, until just soft, 2 minutes. Add tomato paste, garlic powder, bouillon and reserved marinade cook, stirring, for 4 minutes. Add 2 cups water, bring to a simmer and add the chicken back to the pot, stir well, reduce heat to medium and cover, cook for 15 minutes. Add onion slices and butter, cook another 5-10 minutes. Pikliz:  2 1/2 cups finely sliced RED AND GREEN cabbage  1 medium carrot, julienned (in a pinch can be shredded carrot) 1 large shallot, finely sliced 2 habaneros, stemmed, quartered 6 sprigs thyme 8 whole cloves 4 garlic cloves 1 teaspoon kosher salt 2 cups distilled white vinegar 3 tablespoons lime juice 1 cup water Pack the cabbage, carrots, shallots, habanero, thyme, cloves and garlic in a large 1 and ½ quart glass jar (with lid).  Add the vinegar, lime juice, salt and water to a medium pot and bring to a boil. When vinegar mix is boiling carefully pour it over the vegetables in the jar. Seal the jar and gently turn the jar back and forth to make sure all the vegetables get coated. Set aside at room temp.
