I'm honored to introduce to you today: Father, Marine veteran, author and writer, Family Court victim, whistleblower, and absolute warrior in a battle for his children: Jim SiscoJim was referred to me by podcast regular and investigative journalist, Mike Volpe, and has an incredibly harrowing and ongoing family court case he is going to present today. He has been in a 2-year custody battle with his ex-wife who currently has full custody of his 3 children. As you've seen many times on this podcast, the proceedings in Family Court take advantage of good parents at the expense of children and rulings oftentimes - and horrifically - go in favor of abusive parents. Mike Volpe's work on ‘The Imagination' and in his own time over the past decade has showcased time and time again how the court treats children as human commodities and how the court system as a whole functions as a child trafficking racket and criminal enterprises. Although there are many answers to ‘how' children are often trafficked through Family Court and CPS, there is no reason more widely used across the board than a judge ruling ‘parental alienation' as a means to an end for parental custody. And if you watched the episode I did with Mike on Parental Alienation, you understand how this is essentially a blanket term that has no true quantifiable definition. The scary part about Parental Alienation is how liberally it's thrown around without any consistency and how everything and the kitchen sink can be labeled as ‘parental alienation' when it comes to parenting - even a sarcastic comment to an ex as you'll see in Jim's case. The court rulings to strip Jim of access to his children has all but torn apart his life. The last two years he has suffered immeasurably emotionally, financially and physically - including having a stroke as well as having to dish out over $200,000 in legal fees. James was and is a loving and caring father. Every parent that has found the courage to speak out about their custody battles in court is a hero and Jim is no exception. He may be a retired Marine, but he's a warrior through and through. We are going to be talking about his case today to both educate and ask you for your support. I ask that you please put away everything you are doing and give Jim your full attention. Before I finish introducing today's guest - I wanted to give a couple reminders and updates: If you'd like to be on the podcast as a guest or share any information privately with me, please email me at imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.com. Last Sunday, February 25, 2024, Aaron Bushnell killed himself by setting himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC. He did this as an act of resistance to the ongoing genocide in Gaza by the IDF. He was just 25 years old. He was an active duty member of the US Air Force. He live streamed as walked to the embassy and said: “I will no longer be complicit in genocide.I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it's not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.” His final words, shouted several times as the flames consumed him, were “Free Palestine! Free Palestine!” In our latest, we discuss the self-immolation of Aaron Bushnell. We're joined by our comrade and anti-war veteran Graham Clumpner (@turncoatveteran) to discuss Aaron's act of resistance, anti-war/anti-imperialist sentiment in the military and why the Left continues to fail at connecting with veterans of America's foreign wars. Trying to be heard above the torrent of propaganda and outright lies - a young active duty airman douses himself in gasoline, and while he burns to death in front the Israeli embassy in Washington DC - shouts "free Palestine" until he is overcome. Aaron Bushnell was committing an act of conscience widely hailed as noble in past conflicts — but he is being smeared by supporters of Israel and American foreign policy. Trish interviews an Iraq War veteran about the importance of respecting this kind of statement from service members. Helping and honoring our military veterans was deeply meaningful to David, and he helped support them with his American Heroes Run. As you may know, I now direct the event to continue his important legacy. Proceeds support Warriors' Ascent, an organization that provides holistic programs to veterans and first responders experiencing post-traumatic stress. Treating veterans with this not-as-visible type of battlefield injury has often gotten overlooked by the Veteran's Administration and organizations that support veterans. I became aware of Iraq War veteran Gene Bennett's story and received a copy of his chilling book, “We Did Not Deserve the Crapper: The prison we entered but never fully left.” Gene served two tours in Iraq. At first, the Army used him as a truck tire mechanic, but as sometimes happens, they assigned him where needed, and with just a smattering of training, he ended up a prison guard. Gene, whose callsign was Spazmasterflex, termed this job “the worst babysitting job ever.” In 130o heat, often walking on metal grating during all-day or all-night shifts, he was tasked with guarding a violent population where Sunnis and Shia often clashed, and often meted out their own versions of justice, which could be death. Of course, they all wanted to kill the Americans. To make it worse, the prison comprised both adult and juvenile sections. At one point, an eight-year-old was detained and a riot broke out until this child was released. On his watch, an Iraqi teen was murdered, something which continues to haunt Gene. He also witnessed several incidents of horrible atrocities and jaw-dropping leadership ineptitude committed by U.S. military officers. His PTSD and depression no doubt were exacerbated by a difficult childhood in a dysfunctional family. Gene has been fighting back by working to get his fellow veterans improved treatment from the VA, as well as write a cookbook to help them take better care of themselves. He is also creating an innovative line of meat smokers. Gene and I had a very engaging conversation that I think will keep you on the edge of your seat. I'd highly recommend you read his book to get a bird's eye look at one veteran's deployment that will leave you shaking your head, but also rooting for this hero to emerge on the other side in a better place.Gene BennettBook on Amazon: "We Did Not Deserve the Crapper: The prison we left but never fully left"Instagram and X @mickeyseversonBill Stahlsilly_billy@msn.comFacebook Bill StahlInstagram @stahlor and @coachstahlYouTube We Are Superman Podcast

In this episode, Joe interviews Matthew ‘Whiz' Buckley: former decorated US Navy F/A-18 Hornet fighter pilot and now, founder and CEO of No Fallen Heroes Foundation, a non-profit focused on healing veterans and first responders with psychedelic-assisted therapy. Buckley met Joe in D.C. while they were both campaigning for psychedelic therapy to any lawmaker they could speak with. He talks about how the government is spending a fortune on the military, but not paying the total cost, since so much of that is externalized onto the soldiers themselves. He points out how many of them care more about making money than saving lives, and how we need “We the people” moments to wake them up or remove them from office. He discusses: His time in the Navy and his transition back to civilian life, coming to terms with trauma and realizing how much was physical (including tinnitus) His life-changing experiences under ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT with the Mission Within How we should be teaching veterans about various mental health options (including psychedelic-assisted therapy) as part of their transition process The signing of the National Defense Authorization Act and the disappointing amount of money reserved for psychedelic research: Was it all just lip service? The complications that arise when trying to get benefits from the VA while also trying to move on: When honesty about mental health isn't incentivized, when do you tell the truth?
