Dat heeft vooral met veel slecht nieuws te maken, helaas. Je hoort er alles over in de nieuwste aflevering van de WielerFlits Podcast!Verslaggevers Maxim en Youri staat uitgebreid stil bij de verschillende nieuwsfeiten die voor ons liggen. Zo kon je eerder deze week op WielerFlits lezen dat Louis Barré bij Visma | Lease a Bike de vrijgekomen plek van Cian Uijtdebroeks moet innemen. Er is echter nog een horde te nemen. Barré's huidige ploeg Intermarché-Wanty wil geld zien voor de Fransman, want hij was een van de beoogde kopmannen voor de aanstaande fusieploeg Lotto-Intermarché. Ze beroepen zich op het Belgisch arbeidsrecht, dat internationale sportregels - waaronder die van de UCI - overstijgt.Dat verhaal krijgt ongetwijfeld nog een staartje, hetzelfde geldt voor de nakende transfer van Biniam Girmay naar Israel-Premier Tech. Al bij al lijkt het erop dat de fusieploeg een paar serieuze knauwen te verwerken krijgt voordat de samenvloeiing bekrachtigd is. Ook bij Jayco AlUla waren er problemen om aan de licentie-aanvraag voor de WorldTour te voldoen voor de mannen- en vrouwenploeg. De voortekenen daarvoor waren zorgelijk. Komend weekend moet al het benodigde papierwerk binnen zijn bij de UCI om alsnog de toekomst van de ploeg te verzekeren.Bij Picnic PostNL zijn er eveneens ontwikkelingen. The 2025 Life Time Grand Prix finished with a bang thanks to a razor-thin margin in the men's field and a last-minute course change due to weather. Payson is joined by Paige Onweller to break down how it all played out. Paige was sidelined from the season after she was hit by a car a couple of months ago, but as a Bentonville resident, she knows the route better than anyone, including the pros who had planned to race the 100-mile route before it was scrapped for the completely different 50-mile route at the last minute. They talk about the many-sided tactical battle in the women's race and how wild card rider Cam Jones managed to outfox three-time Grand Prix champion Keegan Swenson and former WorldTour rider Simon Pellaud to take the series overall title. Trois victoires + deux podiums, du jamais vu dans l'histoire des Monuments. Ces courses d'un jour qui font le régal du champion slovène dont le but avoué est de toutes les remporter. Milan San Remo et Paris-Roubaix feront donc partie de ses priorités dans les saisons à venir. Joe started coaching amateur and elite riders in the US in the 1980s, before becoming a household name in training in 1996 as author of The Cyclist's Training Bible, arguably the most successful cycling training guide of all time and still in print today in its fifth addition. In 1999 Joe founded TrainingPeaks with son Dirk and friend Gear Fisher, the training and analysis platform that most would agree still sets the bar for digital coaching tools, used by WorldTour pros and amateurs alike.
