Send us a textCersei gets an update on Margaery court, while being waylaid by sparrows. She negotiates a deal with the new High Septon. He'll bless Tommen and erase the crown's debt to the Faith for a law allowing the re-emergence of the Faith Militant. Finally, she makes a veiled threat to Margaery. Mackelly and Simon bow their heads in prayer that she knows what she's doing.Chapter Review:Queen Cersei Lannister rides to the Great Sept of Baelor with Taena Maryweather. Taena fills Cersei in on the men in Margaery's court. The list is filled with most of the young, handsome knights in King's Landing. Therefore, the addition of Grand Maester Pycelle stands out. The going is slow. The litter is blocked by sparrows clogging the streets. Ultimately, Cersei walks the remainder of the way. Upon seeing a pile of bones of slain faithful, Cersei promises to seek revenge. However, the sparrows want only protection for the living.Inside the sept, Cersei is shocked to see septons on hands and knees scrubbing. When she meets the High Septon, she says he should have met her in his finest robes and a crystal crown, not wet and dirty. He explains that they've sold their crowns and fine robes. Cersei asks to speak in private. They kneel at the feet of the Crone. Cersei wants the sparrows gone from King's Landing and a blessing from the High Septon for King Tommen. The High Septon wants better protection from the king for the faithful throughout the realm. Cersei suggests they protect themselves, but a law prohibits the faith from taking up arms. She offers to abolish the law for a blessing for the king and forgiveness on the crown's debt to the faith. The High Septon agrees. On the ride back to the Red Keep, Cersei's festive mood is killed by the sight of Queen Margaery and her court. The two queens exchange pleasantries and barbs. When Cersei sees Margaery and Loras together, it reminds her of Jaime and herself. An idea takes root and laughter bursts forth. Margaery wants to share in the jest, and Cersei promises her that she will.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Cersei Lannister - Mother to King Tommen, Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms.King Tommen Baratheon - Child king of the Seven Kingdoms.High Septon - The highest ranking member of the Faith of the Seven.Taena Merryweather - Socia Support the showSupport us: Buy us a Cup of Arbor Gold, or become a sustainer and receive cool perks Donate to our cause Use our exclusive URL for a free 30-day trial of Audible Buy or gift Marriott Bonvoy points through our affiliate link Rate and review us at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, podchaser.com, and elsewhere.Find us on social media: Discord Twitter @GhostsHarrenhal Facebook Instagram YouTube All Music credits to Ross Bugden:INSTAGRAM! : https://instagram.com/rossbugden/ (rossbugden) TWITTER! : https://twitter.com/RossBugden (@rossbugden) YOUTUBE! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kthxycmF25M

Jaime might've bitten off more than he can chew with standing vigil over his father for seven days and nights. While battling sleep, he recalls his last conversation with Rhaegar Targaryen as well as his recent one with the chief undergaoler. He's visited by Cersei and again rejects her plea to be Hand of the King. Finally, he brokers a lunch for Cersei and feeds her exact steps to success. Simon and Mackelly wonder if she'll still muck it up.Chapter Review:While Jaime Lannister stands vigil over his father's body, he thinks of how if he'd known that Tyrion was going to kill their father he'd have stopped him. He thinks of the conversation he had with the chief undergaoler of the Red Keep dungeons. He gets the same story Cersei got regarding Rugen, the missing undergaoler. Jaime is furious to learn that the turnkeys who fell asleep the night of Tyrion's escape were murdered, by order of the queen.Said queen appears in person, as Jaime stands vigil. She's dressed as a commoner to escape notice. She says Kevan refused her offer of Hand of the King and that he knows about Jaime and Cersei's relationship. She begs Jaime to reconsider taking the role of Hand of the King. Jaime again refuses. Again, in no uncertain terms. A furious Cersei stalks off after unleashing a barrage of angry words toward Jaime. When the sun comes up, mourners again flood the Great Sept of Baelor. Tywin's body has continued to decay and the odor has intensified greatly. When Queen Cersei and King Tommen approach the corpse, Tommen gags and runs for the door. Jaime goes after him and consoles the little king. Queen Cersei arrives and admonishes her son for embarrassing her. Mace Tyrell is close on her heels. Jaime sets up a lunch between Cersei and Mace, to Cersei's annoyance. But Jaime explains that it's an opportunity to send Mace on a task out of the city, where he might get himself killed.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Jamie Lannister - Twin and lover to Cersei. "Leave one wolf alive and the sheep are never safe." Arya chillingly says as she gets revenge for the Red Wedding at long last. "When people ask you what happened here, tell them the North remembers.  Tell them Winter came for House Frey."  Season 7 comes out of the gate hot as House Frey meets its long awaited demise.  Bran beyond The Wall sees the Night King and the army of the dead advancing.  Meera and Bran arrive at the Night's Watch and tell Edd to send a raven of the looming peril.  Jon Snow at Winterfell tells the northern houses about dragonglass and needing as many able bodied fighters as possible.  The Wildlings become the Night's Watch at Eastwatch By The Sea, Sansa and Jon disagree about the future of two great houses and Cersei sends Jon a letter telling him to go to King's Landing and bend the knee or suffer the same fate of all traitors.  In King's Landing, Cersei and Jaime argue over how to handle the threat to them on all sides.  High Garden to the West, Dorne to the South, Dragonstone to the East and Winterfell to the North.  Euron Greyjoy attempts to make an alliance with Cersei which she declines.  Euron tells her that he will not return until he brings her a "priceless gift" to make her reconsider.  Meanwhile, Sam is still at Oldtown working in the Citadel with the Archmaester, Brienne is training Podrick at Winterfell and we get an unexpected cameo from a certain Irish singer! Arya learns that the Great Sept of Baelor was destroyed and that the men she is sitting with were charged with keeping the peace because they heard there was trouble with the Freys at the Twins.  They ask Arya why she's going to King's Landing to which she relies "I'm going to kill the queen." While this is going on, the Hound has to face a mistake from the past.  Thoros of Myr has the Hound look into the flames and the Hound sees a vision. Back in Oldtown, We see the Cats Paw Dagger in the old archives of the citadel and learn its double use and Sam realizes where the living can find as much dragon glass as needed.  A certain grayscaled hero makes his appearance right before we see the Dragon Queen arrive at Dragonstone in Westeros for first time.  Daenerys asks "Shall we begin?"  Daenerys and her advisers make plans for her next move and she is skeptical of Varys.  "Swear this to me Varys, if you ever think I'm failing the people, you won't conspire behind make back. You'll look me in the eye as you have done today and you'll tell me how I'm failing them." Daenerys tells him.  Varys responds "I swear it my queen." to which Daenerys replies "and I swear this, if you ever betray me, I'll burn you alive."  Melisandre arrives and we learn a certain loophole to the prince that was promised from Missandei and Melisandre urges Daenerys to summon Jon Snow.  Daenerys agrees, but adds a required addendum to the summons.  In King's Landing Cersei is trying to manipulate and gain as many allies as possible while Jaime specifically attempts to gain Randyll Tarley's alliance from Olenna Tyrell.  Sam meets the grayscaled man and realizes who it is, Qyburn has a plan for Daenerys' dragon's while Daenerys' war council has a plan of it's own.  Grey Worm and Missandei share a passionate goodbye, we learn what the name for a Song of Ice and Fire was initially intended to be and Sam disobeys a direct order from the Archmaester.  Arya sees an old friend at an inn which causes her to change her mind and go North to Winterfell instead of South to King's Landing.  Jon receives letter from Sam detailing where Jon can find all the dragon glass he needs and Jon makes an executive decision.  Ellaria and Yara have a steamy interaction right before their ship is attacked.  Euron shows his true prowess as a warrior and naval commander, killing two Snakes and taking a Greyjoy captive.  Keep it rolling with us here at the Riddikulus Crew as we are winding down on this epic Game of Thrones arc.  We are in the deep waters now as we have gotten to the point of no return with the only seasons left being the most hotly debated ones that Benioff and Weiss wrote without any books to lean on.  As Melisandre warns us in Season 7 Episode 2,  "The Long Night is coming.  Only the prince who was promised can bring the dawn."

Hitman & Complex Game Systems In this episode: If there is anything in the world Void loves, it’s a complex system that he can learn and exploit in video games. When he found out about Hitman, he jumped in and loved it so much, he gifted it to Beej just so this episode could exist. While neither of us really likes the “murder” aspect of the game, it doesn’t feel like it’s really violence. We really do both see it as a puzzle game, and we tend to overlook the violence as it’s a means to solve the puzzles presented. Beej isn’t entirely into complex systems like Void. They have to serve a true gameplay purpose. Some games are complicated for the sake of being complicated and add nothing to the experience, but Hitman is the opposite of that. It feels as though you are learning skills and building on them as you progress. The game really helps you learn the systems through its very thorough tutorials--they don’t really feel much like tutorials, either. If you go through them, you’ll learn a pretty decent path to progression that leads into a lot of replayability. Void describes his perfect 4-step program on how to become a professional hitman, starting with Beej’s preferred playstyle: bumble around like an idiot until people die, then run like the wind and hope you don’t get shot. Void’s system is a bit more elegant. Paris is the first fully realized level, and instead of writing a lot about it here, just know that Void loved it so much that he’s barely played any of the other missions in the game. It is also part of a smaller bundle that you can get to essentially try out the game, and it goes on sale on various sellers all the time. So get it. Geeky Offer of the Week Rachel Caine’s Paper and Fire. It’s super good, super duper good. So get it FREE at audibletrial.com/geektogeekcast Weekly Geekery Beej - Started running again, and really working on getting back into shape while freelance work saps lots of free time for a few weeks. Void - Started running, too! The weather in Minnesota gave him a reprieve, so he was able to get outside and moving around. Spring is almost here! / Fire Emblem Heroes (Lunatic Difficulty and the lack of energy you have to play) / Hidden Folks Void also went to the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, which is a live performance of the music. It was amazing. The first half was not cohesive and felt like a bad fanmade video, but the second half made up for it. The second half used full sequences that built on each other as the music played. It used the Battle of the Bastards and the Great Sept of Baelor scene from the end of the season 6. The Nintendo Switch is almost here! We are just kinda waiting for the Switch (looked at other games but not pulling the trigger on anything). Games like Nioh, For Honor, Horizon Zero Dawn, Resident Evil 7, Conan Exiles, FFXIV are cool, but so much comes out in March-ish: Horizon Zero Dawn, Zelda (and other launch games for the Switch), Mass Effect Andromeda, and Persona 5 (which takes precedence for Void over Zelda Breath of the Wild, which is crazy to Beej!) And some new Zelda, Breath of the Wild info, in case you missed it. No more compass, map autofills with exploration No musical chests Probably won’t get the green clothes until late in the game No more money in the grass We get a jump button! No more Epona, just random tame-able horses No one new item for each dungeon Enemies won’t wait around to attack Bombs are all remote, no more timed bomb fuses Be sure to subscribe to the Geek to Geek Podcast your favorite podcast app, drop a review so we know how we’re doing, and feel free contact us via email at geektogeekcast@gmail.com or @geektogeekcast on Twitter with any comments, questions, or suggestions for the show. The Season 6 finale of occurred awhile ago. Like, so long ago that I don't remember talking about it. Of course, I do smoke a lot of cannabis, so maybe that's why I (Mom) don't remember. In any case, I relistened to it today and it's quite funny! So there ya go. Listen to Mom and Dad talk about the best episode of Game of Stoned to date. Boom.   In The Winds of Winter, we are entranced with new pacing and structure, highlighting a mini-film of sorts that takes us through Cersei's impressive middle finger to all of Kings Landing and all that follows. From the destruction of the Great Sept, to the end of the reign of King Tommen, times of changed big time. This is also the episode that features the reveal, years in the making. The one everyone has waited for. It's R+L=J time, and the scene is as beautiful and devastating as one can imagine. Young Ned stares into the eyes of a baby Jon, Lyanna dying beside him, and as music swells and promises are made we are taken back to present-day Jon, our hero. Get tissues.
