Greetings adventurers,You are here because you enjoy the stories that we make... and... while we're currently working very hard to bring the next installment of Dark Dice, we thought you might enjoy hearing our first TTRPG, Liberty: Vigilance. Join Peter Joseph Lewis, the voice of Soren Arkwright, and Kaitlin Statz, the voice of Sister Cavernsfall, as they work with Sean Daniel Francis, Caitlin Buckley, Daniel Throison, and Ashly Burch - the voice of Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn - to uncover a terrible conspiracy surrounding their brainwashed home. I was also the Game Master, but I had a bit of a mental insecurity about my own voice, so instead of hearing me, you'll hear one of my all time favorite voice actors WAYNE JUNE reading my parts, in addition to a cast of over 30 voice actors taking the roles of the NPC's. These are the voices of Duke Nukem, The Walking Dead, Space Ghost, and so many more, with the same sound designer, me, and an already-complete story told over 13 chapters. You've made it this far, so get ready... for Liberty: Vigilance!Find the rest on this feed:https://play.acast.com/s/the-liberty-podcast/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Do you feel that fresh, crisp mountain breeze? Catch the light scent of weed smoke lilting jauntily in the air? This week, Spencer and Jamie kick things off from the sun-soaked roof deck of Alex Chen, resident empath detective of Haven Springs, Colorado and the heroine of Life is Strange: True Colors from Deck Nine and published by Square Enix. Join us as we explore the game's stacked emotional toolkit and expressive nuance that, dare we say, sets a new standard in games. Then we take a beat to jump in the guest seat and share our experiences with games that have had significant impacts on our own lives: Guerilla's Horizon Zero Dawn and Supergiant's Transistor! P.S., TIL that marking significant events in your life and giving yourself moments to PROCESS is really important for fighting off burnout! Thanks Jamie! With that in mind, your co-hosts take some time to marvel at the fact that we've been doing this for a whole year - and don't worry, we have no plans of slowing down. Thank you for joining us on this wild ride and for downloading us 50,000+ times! Here's to Year 2! Side Quest Buckle Bunnies Fund https://www.bucklebunnies.org/ (https://www.bucklebunnies.org/) Our organization came to be in April of 2020, when Texas temporarily banned abortions at the beginning of COVID-19. A group of young queer folks who were passionate about Reproductive Justice knew that we had the power to mobilize across Texas and help people get the abortions they needed. After seeing the momentum that we started, we knew we needed to make ourselves a permanent fixture in abortion funding. Our work is done by unpaid volunteers who are dedicated to the autonomy of abortion seekers, not just in Texas, but everywhere. We are explicitly pro-abortion and believe that abortion is freedom, absolutely no shame or stigma allowed here. We will continue to harness our beautiful rage into our work until every person everywhere is able to access abortion freely, safely, and on demand. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Bethesda has bought a PlayStation 5 for Deathloop's Jason Kelley after the voice actor told fans he didn't have a copy of the game or a console to experience it on. Just as Deathloop was about to launch, a short promo clip on the game's official Twitter account featured Jason Kelley, the voice actor for protagonist Colt, saying: "I cannot wait for you guys to get your hands on this video game. If anyone can get me a copy and a PlayStation 5, I would appreciate it." This made it clear that Kelley didn't own a copy of Deathloop or a PlayStation 5 to play it on, but Bethesda came to the rescue. Outfits in Horizon Forbidden West will have skills attached to them, Guerrilla Games has revealed. In a post on the PlayStation Blog discussing how Horizon Zero Dawn's lead protagonist Aloy will shape up in the franchise's upcoming sequel, Guerrilla Games Community Lead Bo de Vries spoke about the range of outfits that will be available to Aloy throughout Horizon Forbidden West and how the studio is building up versatility within this aspect of the game. While Naughty Dog may not have revealed any new details on the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer project, it took the time on The Last of Us Day 2021 to ensure fans that it is actively working on it and that it will "reveal more when it's ready!" Naughty Dog's Rochelle Snyder shared the news in a community update after thanking the fans and the team who have all collectively made The Last of Us into the success it has become. Jokingly, Naughty Dog then included this question as a fan would write; Yeah, that's lovely and great Naughty Dog, but what are you doing with The Last of Us right now?" "In short, we're working on it," Naughty Dog answered. Stella has all that in your Daily Fix!

After an opening segment where we discuss Sean's final thoughts on Returnal, Jonathan finally jumping in 4 years later to Horizon Zero Dawn, and our reactions to the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, it's time for another Weekly Suit Gundam extravaganza! This time it's 2013's Gundam Build Fighters, where Gundam leaves the world of life-and-death warfare and science-fiction (mostly) behind, and instead settles in for a slice-of-life sports anime centered around the Gunpla plastic models that have long been one of the most beloved and popular parts of the franchise's legacy. And in a wonderful surprise, it winds up being one of the franchise's finest hours, a practically perfect 25-episode series chock full of great, vibrant characters, big laughs, awesome Gunpla designs, and truly rousing, get-on-your-feet-and-cheer caliber mobile suit duels. Whether you're a Gundam novice or a grizzled veteran, Gundam Build Fighters has something for everyone. It's as entertaining an anime as you're likely to find, and maybe the most crowd-pleasing installment in the franchise's stories history – and because of that, it's a real treat to get to talk about here. Time Chart:Intro/Stuff: 0:00:00 – 0:32:22News: 0:32:22 – 0:45:50Gundam Build Fighters: 0:45:50 – 3:33:42Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Subscribe to the WEEKLY SUIT GUNDAM Podcast!Subscribe for free to 'The Weekly Stuff' in Apple Podcasts!Follow Jonathan Lack on Twitter!Follow Sean Chapman on Twitter!

Sections played: Up through Bomb Factory Issues covered: voice cast, Ratchet's longer story arc, dark and snark, opposing ideas of what have to be done, building story around archetypes, attitude mascots, moving from mascots to more realistic rendering and characters, PlayStation moving to more "mature" themes, Microsoft pulling Sony, changing strategy, wanting the variant game play to reinforce the setting, spline enemies, aim down sites, using tools to create problem-solving scenarios with weapons, having lots of rewards for completing variant play, enjoying being able to visit a space a second time, sticking with a single design structure for years, fighting the Snagglebeast, what we have to look forward to, miniaturization for backwards compatibility and as a business plan, picking the right version of a game to play, not looking to fans for what they want, having the tools to talk about game design through engaging with the podcast, talking about the end of Death Stranding. Games, people, and influences mentioned or discussed: Lost, Hitman, Pulp Fiction (obliquely), David Kaye, Transformers, GI Joe, Paul Giamatti, Mikey Kelley, Michael Richardson, Mortal Kombat, TMNT, Jim Ward, Prince of Persia, Star Trek, Mario (series), Nintendo, Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Sly Cooper, Infamous, Ghosts of Tsushima, Spider-man (PS4), Sony Santa Monica, Twisted Metal, God of War, Xbox, Halo, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Mark Cerny, Starfighter, Rogue Squadron, Starfox, Zelda (series), Spyro, Sunset Overdrive, Tony Hawk, Jet Grind Radio, Kingdom Hearts, Death Stranding, Ben "from Iowa" Zaugg, PSOne, Metal Gear Solid, LucasArts, Truffles Mochachino, Final Fantasy VI, Square Enix, Waypoint Radio, Chrono Trigger, Sebastian Deken, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Dark Souls, Horizon: Zero Dawn, biostats, Kirk Hamilton, Aaron Evers, Mark Garcia. I have talked about Horizon Zero Dawn and the concept of how humans and machines are living in this reality and why humans are not the head of the food chain anymore; how we are actually considered irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. And, you know what? That is how it should be. We shouldn't consider ourselves so important that everything else is deemed inferior. And there is a good reason for this. We are all the same, and we are all important in the grand scheme of epic proportions, especially if we expand our horizons onto a global scale. And both Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy VII make a good example of this type of philosophy. So let's dive in and explore this further. In this post-apocalyptic world, is the concept that humans are no longer the head of the food chain. It's not necessarily that something else has taken its place, but rather, humans are no longer the most important thing anymore. Remember, the world had survived throughout humans' self destruction and their selfishness for hundreds of years; but the introduction of AI just escalated its destruction in a matter of months. And what's even more interesting, is that it took other AI to actually save Earth from itself. The game has shifted from what we know as an outcome from world disaster and turned it into something else. Something more. It seems, even if it's just in this episode, we need to look back to look forward. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/twotakespodcast/support

He says he's thrilled to be part of the team of composers who are fleshing out heroine Aloy's world in the next adventure, Horizon: Forbidden West , created by Guerilla Games. For this soundtrack, Oleksa joins the composers who created the soundtrack for Horizon: Zero Dawn : Joris de Man, Alexix Smith and Joe Henson of The Flight, and Niels van de Leest. He says it was a fascinating challenge for all of them to use the palette from the original game score and create something new for Forbidden West while referencing what made the original soundtrack work so well, and a great experience to work with Guerrila's Music Supervisor, Lucas van Tol. Oleksa feels it's important to use instruments that reflect the duality of the game world: a wild, post-computer environment, populated by advanced sentient machines, animals and feuding tribes. Blog Link: http://videogamegrooves.com/2021/06/27/episode-83-horizon-zero-dawn/ In the far-flung future, civilization has collapsed. Humanity has forgotten its roots. Robots roam the earth. CD audio has decayed. Only vinyl records remain. Video game music is scavenged from the rubble of our past to rebuild society. The year is 2021. The podcast is Video Game Grooves. Tom Quillfeldt from Laced Records joins Jeremy to explore, appreciate, and illuminate the music of Horizon Zero Dawn. We devote the entire episode to this 4xLP box set, discussing the game's future-tribal setting and sounds. Appreciating the sound team for Horizon Zero Dawn begins with Music Supervisor Lucas van Tol at Guerrilla games, and the guidance and instruction given to the composition team led by Joris de Man. Combining the skills of The Flight, Jonathan Williams, Niels Van der Leest, and of course Julie Elven providing vocals, the weave of thematic and evocative audio perfectly augments the game's unique setting. We pick several selections from across the HZD spectrum to showcase how the game's music sets the stage and communicates the setting to players, and makes for a darn listenable experience too. We also find some "never-before-internetted" music from the score and share it here for what we reckon must be the first time in knowable human history. After setting our campfire for the day, we summon up the new releases and announcements, including a nice one from Laced, and quite a few that may be worth spending your metal shards on as the month closes out. We also take a cue from the "found music" elements of Horizon Zero Dawn to uncover a few other bespoke instruments, engineered sounds, and altogether fabricated soundfonts that exist in the music you listen to on your own vinyl records... your indestructible time-capsule of a music format. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Guerilla Games devs have stated that cross-gen compatibility has not hampered the development of Horizon: Forbidden West.
