David and Jean take a scene by scene approach to "Unbowed and Unbent," an episode that shifts gears from the psychological intensity of the earlier run into something more mechanical, moving pieces into position for the back half of the season. Kristen Cole gets the lion's share of attention, with Jean making the case that Cole's entire identity is the product of a man who never got over rejection, and David walking through the real world history and tactical use of caltrops as Cole's guerrilla campaign hits its limits. The Harrenhal storyline draws pointed criticism for leaning on the tired damsel in distress trope in a show that has set a far higher bar for itself, while Alicent's deeply uncomfortable confrontation with Helena over moon tea opens up one of the episode's most genuinely complex conversations about bodily autonomy, survival, and the cost of power on the women who wield it.Contact UsQuestions or comments? Send us Fan MailThis episode was classic Game of Thrones dialogue driven episode. Like episode 4, this episode was used as a set-up to get us to that next expected battle. But, this episode gave us alot more intrigued and storytelling with some revelations. We find out the fates of Aemond and Tyland Lannister. We got to see how far reaching Ormunds power is as he is wreaking havoc on the Blacks and the Gold Cloaks somehow. Crispy Cole, Alicent, and the White Worm are showing us what they are about, and poor Haelena is once again forced into something she wants no part of. All in all, this episode definitely got me looking forward to episode 6.#houseofthedragon #watchdemthrones #demdragons #demthrones #gameofthrones #blackwithnochaser
A weekly podcast discussing the weekly Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon
#houseofthedragon #gameofthronesuniverse Chaos continues in King's Landing as threats and opposition to Rhaenyra's reign continue to grow. Daemon's trip to the Vale results in more than collecting gold from Lady Arryn. Corlys shifts some of his responsibilities in order to put distance between himself and the Queen. The Hightower host in Tumbleton causes tension and places a particular family in harm's way. Aegon's pride continues to place him and Larys in unnecessary danger. Ormund makes a bold declaration regarding the Throne.
House of the Dragon ends on its most brutal image yet — Chanel, Sharmane and Brandon recap an episode where the walls literally close in.

Episode 4 of House Of The Dragon. AKA HotD.They talk Sheepstealer and Rhaena, Daemon's unexpected dad moment, Aegon's possible redemption arc, Ormund Hightower, Rhaenyra rebuilding her small council, a simple solution to a rat problem, and why the show is starting to make both sides of the Dance more complicated.
En este podcast analizamos el 4to episodio de la 3ra temporada serie Spin-Off de Game of Thrones llamada “House of the Dragon”.Un análisis profundo del 4to episodio donde nos presentan lo que es el antagonista de la serie de ahora en adelante.
House of the Dragon Season 3 just made one of its biggest departures yet from George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, cutting the fan-favorite dragonseed Nettles entirely and folding her role into Rhaena Targaryen. In this episode of Geek Freaks Headlines, we break down who Nettles is in the books, how she claims the wild dragon Sheepstealer, her complicated relationship with Daemon Targaryen, and why showrunner Ryan Condal chose to merge her arc with Rhaena's instead of adapting her directly. We also dig into what this change means for Daemon's redemption arc going forward, and whether the show just skipped past some of the richest material in the source text.**Timestamps**- 0:00 Intro, the big change to House of the Dragon- 0:12 Who is Nettles in the books- 0:28 The showrunner's reasoning for replacing her with Rhaena- 0:49 The Battle of the Gullet aftermath- 1:03 Daemon takes Nettles in as a companion- 1:26 Rhaenyra's paranoia and the hit on Nettles- 1:48 Nettles' fate in the Vale- 2:20 What this means for Daemon's redemption arc- 2:36 Final thoughts and wrap up**Key Takeaways**- Nettles is a lowborn dragonseed who claims the wild dragon Sheepstealer by feeding it dead sheep daily until it trusts her- Showrunner Ryan Condal chose to give her arc to Rhaena Targaryen to keep the story centered on the Targaryen family- Unlike Rhaena in the show, book Nettles was not responsible for Jace's death and fought valiantly in the Battle of the Gullet- Daemon takes Nettles in afterward, teaching her the ways of court, and the book leaves it ambiguous whether their bond is romantic or fatherly- Rhaenyra grows paranoid and puts a bounty on Nettles, forcing Daemon to help her flee- The show's choice to skip this material may cost us the redemption arc for Daemon that the book's ending sets up**Memorable Quotes**"She's a fighter, you know, she grew up tough. She claims Sheepstealer by feeding him dead sheep every day until the dragon trusts her.""Nettles is a great character I think really deserved to be in the show, but I understand making Rhaena more substantial.""He has not been a good dad. We have lots of ideas for Aemond and Alys, Alicent and Helaena and Maelor(?), Rhaena and Sheepstealer, and more!Vote for Us in the Hugo Awards for Best Related Work - lacon.org/register/Shirts - historyofwesteros.threadless.comHoW Audience Survey - bit.ly/howsurveyBonus Eps & More - patreon.com/historyofwesteroswww.historyofwesteros.comIntro/Maps - klaradox.deFacebook Group - bit.ly/howfbDiscord - bit.ly/howdiscord
Send us Fan MailThere is a new villain in town and his name is Ormund Hightower. This episode pretty much takes place in Tumbleton and is setting up things for that anticipated battle. This episode revealed a few things such as Ormunds true intent, showed Daemon what his daughter has really been up to, and gave insight on how folks are really feeling about Rhaenyra. Things are getting real....#watchdemthrones ##houseofthedragon #hbomax #demdragons #demthhones #blackwithnochaser

Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Brewstilled, I'm recapping HBO's House of The Dragon episode 4 from season 3. For episode 4, we had a lot going on with team Green and team Black as both sides plot their next moves in a war that has gone quiet. We saw Rhaenyra contemplate what's next as Ormund Hightower made moves to threaten her reign as Queen. For Aegon, he found himself at Rooks Rest, but not in a spot her would want to be in. We also go developments with Cole whose now rejuvenated and back in the fight. I'll recap it here on Brewstilled with a West Coast Pilsner from Russian River Brewing Co. as the beer pairing.
We lost some momentum in episode 4, but was that a bad thing? Or was it necessary to get the story to where it's going?Next Up: House of the Dragon E305Check us out on YouTube:https://youtube.com/c/FantologyPodcastChat with us more and support in the links belowhttps://www.fantologybooks.comhttps://discordapp.com/invite/k5efNbGhttps://www.patreon.com/fantology_bookshttp://www.audibletrial.com/Fantologyhttps://www.redbubble.com/people/fantology/shopMusic Credit: Nathan Towns, see more at https://nathantownscomposer.com/

SPOILER WARNING Aegon has gone from the Iron Throne to the latrine. This week on Thumb War, we're breaking down House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 4, where Ormond Hightower takes over Tumbleton from a bathtub, sniffs his perfume ball, flashes the room, and apparently starts setting up a holy war against the Targaryens. Meanwhile, Aegon and Larys stumble upon Sunfire — who may or may not be dead — before Aegon gets assigned the worst job in Westeros: scraping shit out of latrines with a guy named Tangled Tongue. We also get into Rhaenyra's very tiny council, Allyn's “what about cats?” promotion, Ulf trying to cash in favors for his drinking buddies, Daemon finding Rhaena and Sheepstealer, Hugh's family being trapped in Tumbleton, and why Aegon might somehow be the most qualified ruler left. In this episode, we continue our weekly recaps of the third season of the hit HBO original series from the Game of Thrones universe, House of the Dragon, starring Emma D'Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke. We discuss whether Ormund Hightower is jealous of the Targaryen family because of his philosophy on who has the rightful claim to the Iron Throne, and we debate whether Daemon is a good father to his children.
