Host Victor records a combined podcast episode (delayed by illness and heavy snow) covering multiple shows, with timestamps promised in show notes. He gives a spoiler-free endorsement of the Night of the Seven Kingdoms finale, praising its more humane, character-focused close and calling several scenes among the best in the Game of Thrones universe. Victor then delivers an in-depth recap of Industry season 4 episode 7 (“Points of Emphasis”), focusing on Yasmin and Henry's unraveling marriage and Henry's dependence on Yasmin to “mother” him. A letter from Whitney is framed as a strategic document meant to implicate Henry in Tender's crisis. Victor emphasizes the episode's themes of narrative as reality in finance and politics, comparing it to real-world corporate valuations and acquisitions, and arguing the economy often runs on belief and storytelling. He outlines Harper's strategy to attack Tender via press and political leaks, Yasmin's manipulation of tabloids and MPs to force a new audit, and internal government backstabbing within the ruling party. Whitney and Henry fly to New York to pitch an overpaying acquisition of PeerPoint to avoid scrutiny, but Whitney is threatened by Ferdinand over the value of Tender's data set. At the PeerPoint meeting, Whitney's claim that shell companies give him standing is later revealed as a lie; PeerPoint used Tender's bid to raise another offer. Whitney disappears, and Tender's stock collapses after the government imposes a full PricewaterhouseCoopers audit, implying Harper's short will pay off. The episode ends with a key Yasmin–Harper reconciliation, mutual admiration, and a club scene where they promise to “have each other's back” and share a nonsexual kiss. Victor is then joined by Alan, who discusses watching Night of the Seven Kingdoms weekly, contrasting it favorably with House of the Dragon. They praise the show's intimate scale, character focus, and finale highlights (Dunk and Arlan under the tree, recurring knighting motifs, Lionel's complexity, Baelor's reflections, Maekar's confession and request to protect his son, Egg's hair reveal, and the “Nine Kingdoms” joke). They note the penultimate episode's violence escalation, discuss criticisms such as “fridging,” and comment on the show's six short episodes and Warner Brothers' stated goal of annual seasons. They move to Paradise season 2 episodes 1–3. They recall Paradise season 1's surprise sci-fi twist and word-of-mouth success, noting the new official podcast. Episode 1 (“Graceland”) follows a new character, portrayed by Shailene Woodley in the present, with flashbacks to her youth and medical training; she lives at Graceland during the early apocalypse, meets Link and his group (who subvert expectations by not being predatory), has sex with Link, becomes pregnant, and hears discussion of a Colorado bunker and an instruction to kill “Alex.” She later sees a burning plane and rides out, leading into episode 2. Episode 2 centers on Xavier's post-bunker flight, crash, encounters with a group of children, and a violent confrontation with an armed adult; Victor and Alan like some flashback material (including Xavier meeting his wife) but find the “lost kids” plotline less compelling. Episode 3 returns to the bunker's politics: the new president proposes “summer” as a quality-of-life change, Sinatra interrogates Jane with a polygraph, and multiple characters experience nosebleeds and visions tied to “Project Alex,” quantum entanglement, and a newly introduced “Venus effect” threat. Alan criticizes implausible plot points, including a bar-room corporate signature transfer and the president's assassination staging, where Jane appears incompetent and relies on convenience to frame Sinatra. The episode ends with Cal's son detained and brought to a secured area connected to Project Alex, while Victor and Alan speculate the season may introduce time-travel elements. They plan to continue weekly discussions when Darren returns. mailto:needssomeintroduction@gmail.com 00:00 Show Packed Preamble 02:37 Industry Episode Setup 02:45 Yasmin and Henry Fallout 09:50 Faith Economy Digression 16:46 Whitney Pitch and PurePoint 22:13 Political Backstabbing Plot 30:34 New York Threats and Data 34:03 Deal Collapses and Aftermath 36:26 Yasmin Harper Bonding 40:14 Alan Joins and 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' 49:02 Stakes and Spoilers 50:27 Pilot to Finale Shift 52:41 Budget and Battle Clarity 54:20 Fridging and Prequel Pitfalls 57:01 Finale Craft and Knighthood 01:04:10 George Martin Delays 01:08:09 Thrones Ending Debate 01:10:38 Finale Scene Highlights 01:15:00 Maekar Confession Scene 01:16:31 Spotting a Chameleon Actor 01:17:23 Egg's Hair Horror 01:18:08 Finale Tag Debate 01:20:35 Nine Kingdoms Math 01:23:00 Wrap Up and Switch Shows 01:23:30 Paradise Premise and Twist 01:26:26 Fogelman and This Is Us Tone 01:28:37 Pulpy Fun vs Prestige Drama 01:30:48 Eighty Songs Running Gag 01:31:50 Dewey Decimal Theory 01:33:20 Season Two Twist Speculation 01:34:48 Graceland Episode Breakdown 01:38:49 Apocalypse POV and Plot Holes 01:41:31 How Long Would You Survive 01:43:20 Prepping Books and Faraday Plans 01:45:15 Population Collapse Thought Experiment 01:46:29 Gail Dies and Link Arrives 01:47:11 Tactical Crew Subversion 01:48:56 One Night Pregnancy Debate 01:49:57 Messiah Parallel and Awkward Sex 01:52:22 Body Hair Realism and Hesitation 01:55:39 Burning Plane and Horse Return 01:58:21 Nosebleeds and Time Fugue 02:00:20 Xavier Crash and Lost Boys 02:03:54 Flashback Romance and Blindness 02:07:07 Swamp Fight and Kid Brutality 02:10:15 Back to Bunker Politics 02:12:54 Climate Control Logic 02:14:15 Diplomacy Fail Fallout 02:16:08 Venus Effect Escalation 02:18:19 Quantum Entanglement Talk 02:21:42 Billy Hitman Flashback 02:23:11 Barroom Paperwork Nitpick 02:26:16 Polygraph Loophole Bug 02:28:35 Nosebleeds and Visions 02:30:44 President Assassination Setup 02:34:54 Project Alex and Wrap Up

In this episode of the Channel 135 Podcast, the hosts discuss the latest developments in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series, including a tribute to the late Robert Duvall. They delve into the implications of streaming service changes, recap the penultimate episode, and analyze character development, particularly focusing on Dunk and Baelor. The discussion highlights the significance of flashbacks, the impact of Baelor's death, and anticipates the series finale.
Robert Duvall Passed Away at 95, and it Seems too Soon This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl honor the legendary Robert Duvall, break down the latest Warner Bros. Discovery and Skydance merger talks, and review the penultimate episode of HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Corporate power plays and Westerosi lances collide. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Robert Duvall: 3:51 Warner Bros/Skydance: 9:07 A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: 23:43 Robert Duvall January 5, 1931 – February 15, 2026 Robert Duvall was one of the defining American actors of the modern era. A founding member of the American Film Theatre movement and a classmate of Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman at the Neighborhood Playhouse, Duvall built a career on discipline, restraint, and volcanic presence. Career Highlights: Tom Hagen in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974) – The calm consigliere in a world of chaos. Controlled, intellectual menace. Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore in Apocalypse Now (1979) – “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.” One of cinema's most iconic performances. Oscar Winner for Tender Mercies (1983) – Best Actor for his deeply human portrayal of a broken country singer. The Great Santini (1979) – A towering, volatile performance that earned him an Academy Award nomination. Lonesome Dove (1989) – Cemented his legacy in the Western genre. Later career standouts: The Apostle (which he also wrote and directed), Open Range, The Judge. Duvall's strength was subtle authority. He never chased flash. He built characters from the inside out. In an industry obsessed with volume, he mastered quiet. Hollywood didn't just lose a legend. It lost a craftsman. https://variety.com/2026/film/news/paramount-skydance-response-warner-bros-discovery-deal-talks-1236665757/ Warner Bros./Skydance Will They/Won’t They Warner Bros. Discovery has reportedly reopened acquisition discussions with Skydance and Paramount, injecting fresh volatility into an already chaotic media landscape. Paramount previously floated a $30 per share offer, potentially rising to $31. Meanwhile, shareholder votes and competing interests continue to complicate the picture. This is consolidation round… what, 47? The real question is what this means for IP control, franchise strategy, and the long-term survival of mid-budget filmmaking. Every merger promises “synergy.” Historically, synergy often translates to layoffs, canceled projects, and fewer creative risks. We break down what this could mean for DC Studios, HBO prestige content, and the streaming wars at large. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO Max) Season 1, Episode 5 (Penultimate Episode) Episode Title: “In the Name of the Mother” Directed by: Owen Harris Written by: Hiram Martinez & Ti Mikkel and Ira Parker Summary: The trial of seven begins. In the first charge, Aerion knocks Dunk off his horse. In a series of flashbacks to Dunk’s childhood, he and his friend Rafe scavenge from a battlefield. They return to Flea Bottom in King’s Landing and pickpocket from Alester, a City Watchman. Dunk and Rafe attempt to buy passage to the Free Cities in Essos, but cannot afford it. Alester corners them and takes their money. Rafe steals Alester’s dagger, but he notices and slits her throat. Arlan emerges from a tavern and kills Alester, saving Dunk, who then follows Arlan on his travels. In the present, Dunk duels Aerion on foot until both men collapse from injury. After Dunk falls unconscious, Aerion declares him dead. Egg begs Dunk to get up, and the crowd chants for Dunk as he stands. Dunk and Aerion resume their duel until Dunk gets the upper hand. Aerion yields and withdraws his accusation. In the aftermath, Beesbury and Hardyng are confirmed as killed. Dunk pledges fealty to Baelor. Raymun and Pate help Baelor remove his helmet, which Maekar struck with his mace during the trial, revealing a fatal wound. Baelor collapses from his injury and dies in Dunk’s arms. The jousting sequences are shot with brutal realism. Armor feels heavy. Impacts feel dangerous. The episode underscores a central thesis of Martin's work: nobility is aspirational, not guaranteed. Key Cast: Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall Dexter Sol Ansell as Prince Aegon “Egg” Targaryen Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen Production Notes: The series distinguishes itself from House of the Dragon by focusing on intimate political storytelling rather than large-scale spectacle. The penultimate episode prioritizes character psychology, legacy, and the myth of knighthood over spectacle-driven chaos. “Don't die.” That's the pep talk Prince Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen gives before a seven-way trial by combat turns the Ashford tourney grounds into a slaughterhouse. We are joined by a special guest Sharmane from the Militantly Mixed Podcast.In A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1, Episode 5 (“In the Name of the Mother”), Dunk gets crushed, concussed, and nearly carved apart—then digs deep enough to do the impossible: make Aerion Targaryen say the words he's never said in his life—“I yield.”But victory comes with a cost the show doesn't flinch from.Brandon & Chanel break down the episode's brutal trial-by-joust, the devastating reveal of Dunk's Flea Bottom past, and why Baelor's final moments land like a hammer to the chest.

Mario Busto and Zachary Newton recap Story Archives' episode five deep dive of A Night of the Seven Kingdoms, titled “In the Name of the Mother.” They debate the episode title, then break down the trial by combat and its chaotic, fog-covered battle staging, including key background moments like Raymun Fossay saving Dunk and Baelor being struck in the head. They react to Baelor's death, discuss succession implications and who may have survived, and criticize Aerion's survival despite his injuries. The hosts also analyze Dunk's brutal damage during the fight, praise the helmet POV and heavy-armor realism, and talk through the flashback to young Dunk and Ser Arlan of Pennytree, including whether the flashback used too much runtime in a 35-minute episode. They close with thoughts on the show's high ratings and nostalgia factor, budget comparisons to Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, a brief discussion of what they might cover next on the podcast, and end by noting the season finale is next because the season is only six episodes.00:00 Welcome Back + Episode 5 Title Debate (“In the Name of the Mother”)01:36 Why This Episode Hits: Themes, Morality, and the GoT Vibe02:29 Baylor's Death: Reactions, Fallout, and the Succession Question05:01 Breaking Down the Trial by Combat: Hidden Moments & Baylor's Final Hit09:00 Fog of War & Realistic Combat: Dunk's Helmet POV and Brutal Injuries12:30 Aftermath Speculation: Tournament, Dunk's Future, and Maekar's Response15:27 Flashback Controversy: Pacing, “Get Up” Transition, and Arlan of Pennytree29:05 Budget Talk, Aegon's Conquest Spin-off, and Casting Without A-Listers35:01 Actor Presence & a George C. Το A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms είναι μία από τις τρεις μεγαλύτερες πρεμιέρες στην ιστορία του HBO Max και το POP για τις Δύσκολες Ώρες στέκεται στο πλευρό του Dunk καθώς τα πράγματα αρχίζουν να σκουραίνουν πολύ.Ο Dunk κατάφερε να μπει στο τουρνουά αλλά αυτό δεν του λύνει τα προβλήματα. Ο Baelor μπορεί να επιβεβαίωσε την ύπαρξη του Ser Arlan, αυτό όμως δεν σταματά τους υπόλοιπους γύρω του από το να κοιτάζουν τον Dunk αφ'υψηλού και ασκούν βία με ό,τι ανεξέλεγκτο τρόπο κρίνουν απαραίτητο.Τι βλέπουν ο Dunk κι ο Egg όταν κοιτάνε τα άστρα; Τι συμβαίνει με την εντυπωσιακή πανοπλία του Aerion; Γιατί δεν σφυρίζει κανείς πέναλτι εναντίον του; Ποιο είναι το ιδανικό πρωινό που μπορείς να φτιάξεις στην ύπαιθρο του γουέστερος με δύο αυγά από την τοπική λαϊκή; Πόσο θα μπλέξει αυτή τη φορά ο Dunk θέλοντας να κάνει το σωστό; Και τι συνέπειες θα έχει το ανατρεπτικό φινάλε του επεισοδίου;
"How good a knight are you?"... Guess we'll find out.Ebube brings Bankole in to join the the guys for an incredibly fun roundtable and a lesson in the laws of gods and men, but frankly the real question here is how cooked Dunk truly is.Once Bankole recaps his own perspective on the show with a carefully curated list of "jokes", the guys deliberate on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to Baelor being the greatest Targaryen ever put to screen, Aerion being the kind of demon that's actually worth fearing, and Maekar living out all the stresses of fatherhood all at once.They also touch on the newest Targaryens revealed to us, discussing what Daeron brings to the table and what might be next for the baldest prince in history, all while trying to figure out what could possibly go right in a Trial of Seven.What even is that??!!!!You can support us hereAlso available on YouTubeHost: Ebube Ubochi Guests: Bankole Imoukhuede, Afam and SoonenProduction by: Ebube Ubochi

The Bald Prince and His Tall Knight Make Perfect Travel Companions This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are talking about the new GOT spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. And Wonderman Episode 1. All this and… some Brandon Sanderson news. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Sanderson: 8:45 Wonderman: 19:00 Dunk & Egg: 35:07 Brandon Sanderson's Literary Fantasy Universe ‘Cosmere' Picked Up by Apple TV (Exclusive) https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/brandon-sandersons-mistborn-stormlight-archive-movie-tv-1236487271/ Wonderman (Disney+) Episode 1 – “Matinee” (Premiere) Episode 1 introduces us to Simon Williams (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), a struggling actor and stuntman whose career is in a tailspin. After being fired from a TV role and dumped by his girlfriend, Simon is at a crossroads. When he runs into Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), a fellow actor with an eccentric reputation, he learns Slattery is auditioning for a remake of the classic superhero film Wonder Man — a movie Simon loved as a kid and which inspired him to pursue acting in the first place. Simon pushes for a shot at the role, but his agent refuses. Undeterred, he somehow lands an audition alongside Slattery anyway. Slattery gives him advice that helps him make an impression. Meanwhile, Department of Damage Control agent P. Cleary secretly contacts Slattery with instructions to watch Simon closely because he might have actual superpowers, tying Simon's acting ambitions to real-world MCU stakes. This episode sets up two parallel arcs: Simon's Hollywood hustle and dream of stardom, and the hint that he may be more than just an actor, potentially linking him to actual superhero abilities and the broader Marvel universe. Tone-wise, Episode 1 blends industry satire, comedy, and superhero setup, spotlighting the absurdities of Hollywood while weaving in classic MCU connective tissue. Ratings: Out of 5 Here’s a Note For You… Get Out Darryl: 3.75/5 Brian: 3.8/5 A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO Max) Episode 1 – “The Hedge Knight” This premiere introduces Dunk (Ser Duncan the Tall) and Egg (the boy who becomes his squire), setting up the tone and stakes for the series. It takes place about 100 years before Game of Thrones and focuses on a smaller-scale story full of character and humor rather than sweeping war and politics. Here's what happens: Dunk buries his mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, and takes his sword, shield, and three horses as he heads toward the Ashford tourney, hoping to make his name and find work. At an inn, he meets a young bald boy who asks to be his squire. After initially refusing, Dunk ultimately accepts him and names the boy Egg. At Ashford, Dunk tries to enter the tournament but learns he needs someone reputable to vouch for him. He seeks out knights who knew Ser Arlan, but nobody will put their name on the line for a wandering hedge knight. Along the way we see the rough, earthy humor and grounded Westerosi world the show is leaning into (including some decidedly human moments missing from prior franchise entries). By the end, Dunk officially becomes Ser Duncan the Tall, and he and Egg share a moment under the stars, signaling the start of their journey together. Tone note: it's lighter and more character-focused than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, blending heartfelt moments with gritty, grounded humor. Episode 2 – “Hard Salt Beef” In the second episode, Dunk's quest to enter the Ashford tourney continues and the story expands slightly into the world's wider politics and personality. Key beats: Dunk spends much of the episode telling other knights about his mentor Ser Arlan, trying to get someone to vouch for him so he can compete, but keeps getting brushed off. Egg helps by pointing out the unfairness of Dunk needing permission when he's already a knight, showing how their dynamic is evolving. Members of House Targaryen arrive at the tourney — princes including Baelor, Maekar, and Aerion — and their presence adds weight to the event. Dunk overhears a conversation about missing Targaryen children and uses the moment (and a bit of boldness) to appeal directly to Prince Baelor to vouch for him. Baelor does remember Ser Arlan and, while not lavish in praise, quietly ensures Dunk's name is added to the tournament list. Dunk and Egg also start to settle more into the tourney rhythm — from watching performances to joining in games — as Dunk grapples with what legacy and honor really mean in this world. This episode deepens the relationship between Dunk and Egg, introduces more of Westeros's nobility (in a relatively casual, grounded way), and frames Dunk's struggles not just to fight but to matter. Quick Character & World Context Dunk and Egg are adapted from the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas by George R.R. Martin. The series is intentionally smaller in scale, focusing on relationships and the everyday lives of knights and squires rather than epic political wars or dragons. Close the Door: Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast
Spoilers, profanity, Jaime x Brienne. Is Ser Arlan packing a canon cannon? Maybe! Everyone hitting on Ser Duncan the Tall sure is. Maekar is the Jan to Baelor's Marcia on this episode of the Targaryen Bunch. Dunk's getting the feels with Tanselle and panic from the tourney, Egg's somehow remaining anonymous despite being the only bald kid in town, and we're just loving every last second of this ride so far. Except that we've apparently been pronouncing everybody's name wrong. AKotS. A Song of Ice and Fire. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - 1x02 - Hard Salt Beef. Close The Door And Come Here - Episode 619
We break down the second episode of The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms "Hard Salt Beef" and focus on Dunk's self-worth, Baelor's quiet strength, and how small acts of kindness carry more weight than a tourney crown. Grief, class, and legacy collide as a hedge knight hunts a sigil, a sponsor, and a future worth remembering.Send us a textSupport the showFollow Dancing with Dragons on Instagram Follow Tony on IG: Sirtone_Reviews Follow Minwa on IG: TheArabKhaleesihttps://dancingwithdragons.buzzsprout.comEmail us @DancewithDragons62@gmail.com

Send us a textAreo Hotah watches as the skull of the Mountain is presented to Prince Doran Martell. Finally peace between Dorne and the Iron Throne, predicted no one, ever. Mackelly and Simon roll out the barbed wire and start digging the trenches.Chapter Review:In the Old Palace of Sunspear, Areo Hotah watches as Maester Caleotte delivers an ebony chest to Prince Doran Martell. Inside is the skull of Gregor Clegane, which Obara Sand places on a marble pedestal. Doran declares that “the Mountain rides no more.” Ser Balon Swann, there on behalf of Queen Cersei, is made uneasy by the spicy food, the politics, and Princess Arianne's careful attention.Cersei's letter requests that Myrcella visit King's Landing, with Trystane to accompany her and Doran to take Oberyn's seat on the small council. Doran suggests they travel by ship, and Balon's reluctance to travel by sea does not go unnoticed.After the feast, Doran gathers Obara, Nymeria, Tyene, Arianne, Ellaria, and Hotah in his solar. Ellaria breaks at the Sand Snakes' refusal to accept the end of the blood feud with the Lannisters, rejecting the endless cycle of vengeance. When she leaves, the Sand Snakes demand war, but Doran forces them to swear obedience before revealing that Cersei's invitation is a trap meant to kill Trystane on the road. Instead of violating guest right by killing Swann, Doran assigns each Sand Snake a role: Obara will lead Swann to hunt Darkstar, Nymeria will escort Myrcella to court and take the small council seat, and Tyene will infiltrate the Sept of Baelor. Arianne will remain in Sunspear as his heir. As plans move forward, Dorne prepares to strike back its own way.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Areo Hotah - Captain in Prince Doran Martell's service.Prince Doran Martell - Infirmed ruler of Dorne.Princess Arianne Martell - Princess of Dorne. Come? Lo scopriamo in questo video, dove... abbiamo una cosa o due in più da dire, in realtà, su Dunk e le divinità di Westeros. Come se si fossero coalizzate, sì, coalizzate per proteggerlo...Art by Mike S. Baelor the Blessed's surprising ascent to the Iron Throne was followed by a dizzying series of rulings unlike any King before or after. His reign was a decade dedicated to peace… unless it interfered with piety. King Baelor was a man of the seven, often called the Septon King, but he was also a burner of books and a man capable of consigning innocents to homelessness and starvation. Baelor was one of the most exceptional and extreme dragon Kings to sit the Iron Throne, an example of both the best and the worst their line could produce. Send us a textCersei gets an update on Margaery court, while being waylaid by sparrows. She negotiates a deal with the new High Septon. He'll bless Tommen and erase the crown's debt to the Faith for a law allowing the re-emergence of the Faith Militant. Finally, she makes a veiled threat to Margaery. Mackelly and Simon bow their heads in prayer that she knows what she's doing.Chapter Review:Queen Cersei Lannister rides to the Great Sept of Baelor with Taena Maryweather. Taena fills Cersei in on the men in Margaery's court. The list is filled with most of the young, handsome knights in King's Landing. Therefore, the addition of Grand Maester Pycelle stands out. The going is slow. The litter is blocked by sparrows clogging the streets. Ultimately, Cersei walks the remainder of the way. Upon seeing a pile of bones of slain faithful, Cersei promises to seek revenge. However, the sparrows want only protection for the living.Inside the sept, Cersei is shocked to see septons on hands and knees scrubbing. When she meets the High Septon, she says he should have met her in his finest robes and a crystal crown, not wet and dirty. He explains that they've sold their crowns and fine robes. Cersei asks to speak in private. They kneel at the feet of the Crone. Cersei wants the sparrows gone from King's Landing and a blessing from the High Septon for King Tommen. The High Septon wants better protection from the king for the faithful throughout the realm. Cersei suggests they protect themselves, but a law prohibits the faith from taking up arms. She offers to abolish the law for a blessing for the king and forgiveness on the crown's debt to the faith. The High Septon agrees.On the ride back to the Red Keep, Cersei's festive mood is killed by the sight of Queen Margaery and her court. The two queens exchange pleasantries and barbs. When Cersei sees Margaery and Loras together, it reminds her of Jaime and herself. An idea takes root and laughter bursts forth. Jaime might've bitten off more than he can chew with standing vigil over his father for seven days and nights. While battling sleep, he recalls his last conversation with Rhaegar Targaryen as well as his recent one with the chief undergaoler. He's visited by Cersei and again rejects her plea to be Hand of the King. Finally, he brokers a lunch for Cersei and feeds her exact steps to success. Simon and Mackelly wonder if she'll still muck it up.Chapter Review:While Jaime Lannister stands vigil over his father's body, he thinks of how if he'd known that Tyrion was going to kill their father he'd have stopped him. He thinks of the conversation he had with the chief undergaoler of the Red Keep dungeons. He gets the same story Cersei got regarding Rugen, the missing undergaoler. Jaime is furious to learn that the turnkeys who fell asleep the night of Tyrion's escape were murdered, by order of the queen.Said queen appears in person, as Jaime stands vigil. She's dressed as a commoner to escape notice. She says Kevan refused her offer of Hand of the King and that he knows about Jaime and Cersei's relationship. She begs Jaime to reconsider taking the role of Hand of the King. Jaime again refuses. Again, in no uncertain terms. A furious Cersei stalks off after unleashing a barrage of angry words toward Jaime.When the sun comes up, mourners again flood the Great Sept of Baelor. Tywin's body has continued to decay and the odor has intensified greatly. When Queen Cersei and King Tommen approach the corpse, Tommen gags and runs for the door. Jaime goes after him and consoles the little king. Queen Cersei arrives and admonishes her son for embarrassing her. Mace Tyrell is close on her heels. Jaime sets up a lunch between Cersei and Mace, to Cersei's annoyance.
