Replay Episode — This one's a "blast from the past." David originally recorded this conversation in the last quarter of 2022, right in the middle of heavy recession fear and a rough year in the markets. Nothing tests a friendship quite like a girls trip gone wrong. This scenario is all too familiar to your hosts, Jaci and Chelsey, who have had their fair share of disasters while traveling together. Our first story kicks off eerily similar to Jaci's speeding ticket drama, which somehow escalated into a warrant being issued for her arrest. Luckily for Jaci, everything got sorted out, but some of these ladies aren't so fortunate. Tune in to this week's episode of the What We Said Podcast for some absolutely diabolical girls trip stories that could tear even the strongest friendships apart. !!! Hello, dear listeners! Before we get back to the reviews, I thought this would be a good time to say hello to the listeners who joined after I talked about certain games and to refresh those who have been around a while on my top ten games, as things have changed a bit since I first talked about them, through the power of badly co-opted meme! Sit back and enjoy me talking about some old favorites, what may have happened to them in the intervening years, and where I am coming from when I talk about how I look at games.
Am I the problem? It's a question we've all asked ourselves–and if you haven't, you probably should. This week, some introspective Valley girls share their struggles with deciding if they're in the wrong. One is suspicious of her husband using Snapchat to chat with his work wife. Another wonders if she can ask her sister to cover up her Star Wars tattoo at her wedding. If there's one thing you'll learn from this episode, it's that it never hurts to look in the mirror and ask the hard question...!!! This week on the What We Said Podcast, listeners share their craziest stories from the best part of any wedding: the bachelorette party. A weekend full of fun with just the girls? Yes, please! Those rules, however, didn't apply to one bride, who invited a straight man on the sacred girls-only retreat. Then there's the bridesmaid who canceled her attendance that was planned months in advance (after everyone had already paid). A true nightmare, the group rental car that gets towed following a late night out on the town, and they couldn't get it back. (In Iain Stirling's voice): The girls kick this week off with another round of Love Island chat, and they've got Sincere squarely in their crosshairs. They've officially had it up to ~here~ with his games and lies, and they're breaking down everything happening in the villa. There's a study on the girls and boys entering Casa Amor and how they have to behave so differently to be picked to stay in the Villa. Do the men on the show, and in real life, get way too much grace to do whatever they want under the excuse of “boys will be boys”? And why are the women being villainized this season for doing the exact same things Zach, Dylan, KC, and of course Sincere, have been doing? Things wrap up with discussions of what is going on behind the scenes in Fiji, like contestants that might never enter, and entire seasons filmed before the real deal just so producers can make sure everything runs smoothly. Jaci recaps her family reunion in Tennessee, including the bugs that apparently decided she was their new home, while Chelsey shares some photo drama that's threatening to tear a family apart.// WHAT WE ARE WEARING/MENTIONING // https://shopmy.us/shop/whatwesaidpodcast SHOP OUR MERCH: https://shop.dearmedia.com/collections/what-we-said !!! Would you like to learn more about how to be refreshed and how to refresh others? That's what this new series is all about.I'm Malcolm Cox, and this is Quiet Time Coaching, a devotional podcast. Today we begin a new series called “Refresh One Another”, based on the Bible's one another commands and promises. And as we always should, we begin with Jesus.Episode 1: Jesus the Chief RefresherDo you need some refreshment right now? I don't mean just a good night's sleep or a break from a busy schedule. I mean the kind of refreshment that reaches into the deepest parts of you and brings relief, renewal, and peace. God knows we need that kind of refreshment. And the good news is this: Jesus is the chief refresher. In Matthew 11.28-30, Jesus says:“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”The word translated “rest” is the Greek word anapauō. It means to bring rest, relief, or renewal after a time of pressure. It's the same word Paul uses in Philemon when he speaks about being refreshed. See Philemon 7 & 20.I love the NT Wright paraphrase of the Matthew passage:“Are you having a real struggle? Come to me! Are you carrying a big load on your back? Come to me — I'll give you a rest! Pick up my yoke and put it on; take lessons from me. I'll be gentle with you. The last thing in my heart is to give you a hard time. You'll see — rest you need, and rest you shall have.”Jesus doesn't just acknowledge our burdens. He invites us to bring them to him. And in Mark 6.31, Jesus says to his disciples:“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”Again, it is the same word: anapauō. Jesus cares about the weariness of his people, and he provides what they need.So how do we experience this refreshment? One vital channel is directly through Jesus. Are you carrying a heavy load? Have you brought it to Jesus? Not just mentioned it briefly, but truly come to him and handed it over? Jesus is the chief refresher. He knows what you need, and he offers rest for your soul.Reflection Questions What does refreshment from Jesus look like in your life right now? Not just physical rest, but soul-level relief. When was the last time you truly came to Jesus with your weariness, not just mentioning it but handing it over to him? The Greek word anapauō means to bring rest after pressure. Where do you most need that kind of rest today? ⸻If you have any questions or feedback, please contact me at malcolm@malcolmcox.org.Many thanks for listening. Join me next time for Episode 2 — “Refresh One Another in Community.”I hope this episode has helped you find refreshment in Jesus.God bless,Malcolm

The most expensive House primary race in American history just delivered a massive victory for President Trump. In Kentucky's 4th Congressional District, Trump-backed Navy SEAL and combat veteran Ed Gallrein has defeated longtime Republican incumbent Thomas Massie after a brutal, record-shattering primary battle that saw over $32 million poured into attack ads and campaign spending. This race became a referendum on loyalty to President Trump and America First priorities. Massie, known for bucking the party on key votes including spending bills and foreign aid, faced an all-out assault from Trump allies, pro-Israel groups, and MAGA super PACs determined to remove one of the last remaining thorns in Trump's side. We welcome Chile and Czechia to the podcast family, and we highlight the country that has jumped into second place on our list. Thank You, Jesus. Part one of this little. Refresher was Pray, Pray, Pray. In part two, we are encouraged to Practice, Practice, Practice. We see how God is a better Father than we are. He never tells us to avoid prayer until we are mature enough. We are encouraged to let God guide us as we mature, but not to let anyone torpedo the practice and refinement of our prayer lives. God is our Father: “And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18He trains us in His wisdom:“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6And we are encouraged to practice. “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9Our So What?Practice, practice, practice our communion with the only true God.Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen1 Timothy 1:17”What a man is on his knees before God, that he is and nothing more."
