Send us a textCersei gets an update on Margaery court, while being waylaid by sparrows. She negotiates a deal with the new High Septon. He'll bless Tommen and erase the crown's debt to the Faith for a law allowing the re-emergence of the Faith Militant. Finally, she makes a veiled threat to Margaery. Mackelly and Simon bow their heads in prayer that she knows what she's doing.Chapter Review:Queen Cersei Lannister rides to the Great Sept of Baelor with Taena Maryweather. Taena fills Cersei in on the men in Margaery's court. The list is filled with most of the young, handsome knights in King's Landing. Therefore, the addition of Grand Maester Pycelle stands out. The going is slow. The litter is blocked by sparrows clogging the streets. Ultimately, Cersei walks the remainder of the way. Upon seeing a pile of bones of slain faithful, Cersei promises to seek revenge. However, the sparrows want only protection for the living.Inside the sept, Cersei is shocked to see septons on hands and knees scrubbing. When she meets the High Septon, she says he should have met her in his finest robes and a crystal crown, not wet and dirty. He explains that they've sold their crowns and fine robes. Cersei asks to speak in private. They kneel at the feet of the Crone. Cersei wants the sparrows gone from King's Landing and a blessing from the High Septon for King Tommen. The High Septon wants better protection from the king for the faithful throughout the realm. Cersei suggests they protect themselves, but a law prohibits the faith from taking up arms. She offers to abolish the law for a blessing for the king and forgiveness on the crown's debt to the faith. The High Septon agrees. On the ride back to the Red Keep, Cersei's festive mood is killed by the sight of Queen Margaery and her court. The two queens exchange pleasantries and barbs. When Cersei sees Margaery and Loras together, it reminds her of Jaime and herself. An idea takes root and laughter bursts forth. Margaery wants to share in the jest, and Cersei promises her that she will.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Cersei Lannister - Mother to King Tommen, Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms.King Tommen Baratheon - Child king of the Seven Kingdoms.High Septon - The highest ranking member of the Faith of the Seven.Taena Merryweather - Socia Support the showSupport us: Buy us a Cup of Arbor Gold, or become a sustainer and receive cool perks Donate to our cause Use our exclusive URL for a free 30-day trial of Audible Buy or gift Marriott Bonvoy points through our affiliate link Rate and review us at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, podchaser.com, and elsewhere.Find us on social media: Discord Twitter @GhostsHarrenhal Facebook Instagram YouTube All Music credits to Ross Bugden:INSTAGRAM! : https://instagram.com/rossbugden/ (rossbugden) TWITTER! : https://twitter.com/RossBugden (@rossbugden) YOUTUBE! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kthxycmF25M
The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Cersei meets with her new handpicked Small Council who blithely make momentous decisions with huge ramifications. Simon and Mackelly watch on in despair.Chapter Review:Queen Cersei is, not for the first time, disappointed to find the severed head of the wrong dwarf presented to her. She offers no punishment to the murderers for fear of deterring those hunting Tyrion. She and Qyburn head to the Small Council. He has prepared the skull to be sent to Dorne to satisfy the Martell's grievance against the now, presumably dead, Gregor Clegane. The Small Council is at full complement - with men Cersei has personally elevated not because of obvious talents for their positions, but due to perceived loyalty. It doesn't make for a very thoughtful meeting. They decide to stay out of the trouble in the Vale, but demand that no harm befall Petyr Baelish. That they'll ignore the flock of Sparrows that continues to descend on King's Landing. That they have no idea who the next High Septon will be. That the grumblings from the masses about the crimes of the Red Wedding are best dealt with by waiting for Lord Frey to die and hoping that his successor will give up a few rivals as scapegoats. That to pay for a new royal fleet the crown will default on its loan payments to both the Faith and the Iron Bank of Braavos. That Lord Manderly should execute Ser Davos who came to ask for White Harbor's support for Stannis' claim. That news of dragons in Essos can be safely ignored. And that Jon Snow has betrayed the neutrality of the Night's Watch by siding with Stannis.Cersei arranges a complex plan involving Osney Kettleblack seducing Queen Margaery, being caught in the act, sent to the Wall by King Tommen, murdering Jon Snow, being pardoned, and then becoming Cersei's concubine for his service. A tall order, but if he pulls it off, then a Lannister always pays their debts. She tells Taena to let Margaery know that the handsome Osney is smitten with her, but discreetly. Characters/Places/Names/Events:Cersei Lannister - Mother to King Tommen, Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms.King Tommen Baratheon - Child king of the Seven Kingdoms.Jamie Lannister - Twin and lover to Cersei. Biological father of Tommen.Margaery Tyrell - Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.Osney Kettleblack - Youngest of the Kettleblack brothers. We pick up where we left off with Jorah Mormont stealing a boat to navigate with his captive, Tyrion. Aboard a merchant ship, Jaime and Bronn sail to Dorne to rescue Myrcella and getting betrayed and caught up while doing so. Cersei has the Iron Bank on her ass and they want 10% of what's owed to them...and she ain't got it. She sends Mace Tyrell to go talk to them as well as getting him out of the way. Cersei also plots with the High Sparrow to try and manipulate the faith to do her dirty work. The faith attacks the bars and brothels and takes Loras as captive for being gay. We also see Ellaria and the sandsnakes decide to do what Oberyn's brother won't do...avenge his death against the Lannisters. The Red Priestess tried to throw that hotbox on Jon and he refuses. And finally, we see the Sons mount an attack on Dany and her people with Ser Barriston paying the price for it....If you haven't already, please to subscribe to the audio version of the podcast on all your favorite podcast platforms...If you want to keep the fun going with us throughout the week, come join our Facebook group.JOIN THE WATCH DEM THRONES FACEBOOK GROUPhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/126567443834910/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBTTO WATCH AND SUBSCRIBE:Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/blackwithnochaser/Twitter:https://twitter.com/BeBlackNoChaser?t=pVFV06lBFdZRu72ot4uCjA&s=09Twitter:https://twitter.com/WatchDemThrones?t=q0ngrYPlugf0ttzM2jo39A&s=09Apple Music: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/watch-dem-thrones-by-black-with-no-chaser/id1641754247Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/1qI1bJ1vIlobu502w6zrtN?si=mtsa3gZYRZW_3FmlCrv7UgBWNC RADIO: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bwnc-radio/id6443800363Amazon Musichttps://music.amazon.com/podcasts/45279c3a-c09f-47d1-a3a3-88e6e2507230/watch-dem-thrones-by-black-with-no-chaserIHeartRadiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-watch-dem-thrones-by-black-101286659/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false#gameofthrones #demdragons #blackwithnochaser #houseofthedragonhbo #dragonseeds #theblacks #thegreens #houseofthedragon #youtube #targaryens #podcast #podsincolor #applemusic #spotifymusic #podsincolor #starks #lannisters #Velaryon

We're back with another episode of Talkin' Thrones, and its a big one today, Season 6, Episode 4, "Book of the Stranger." It can become easy to forget about some of the smaller moments that help set up for the larger, more memorable moments like Battle of the Bastards, or even something like the Door next episode, but its episodes like these that are so crucial, because they help to directly set up for a lot of the bigger moments to come. Jon has just completed his final act as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch and is about to leave when the first major reunion happens, with Sansa finally arriving at the Wall, marking the first Stark reunion since the pilot. Jon is not yet ready to emerge into the real world, but Sansa makes him see sense once Jon receives a threatening letter from Ramsay. At Winterfell, Osha attempts to trick Ramsay as she once did Theon, but is unable to and pays dearly for it. In King's Landing, Cersei learns a crucial detail and is able to form an alliance with Olenna, while the High Sparrow continues to play his games with Margaery & Tommen. Theon arrives home for the first time in years to learn of his father's death and his sister's attempts for the Throne. In Meereen, Tyrion negotiates a peace treaty with the slavers to less than satisfactory reactions. Littlefinger plots his next move after arriving back in the Eyrie. It all ends with a brilliant fireshow, with Daenerys carrying out her revenge plot against the Khals and showing the Dothraki why they should follow her. Another week, another episode in the wind down phase of Talkin' Thrones, Season 6, Episode 3, entitled "Oathbreaker," a reverse of a previous Season 4 episode, only with a much different context behind it. Despite this still being an action season, we're finding that Season 6 is mirroring Season 5 a little bit more than we would have liked, considering that we're getting into the phase of set up/spinning our wheels until the last two episodes, leaving a lot of room on the table for some actually juicy scenes. We start by addressing a booboo that Professor Pat made last week, mistakenly thinking that Bran seeing his father's fight with Arthur Dayne happened in last week's episode, when it really happened in this episode. Cersei & Jaime attempt to get the attention of the other members of the Small Council, but they ignore them, while the High Sparrow continues his games with Margaery & Tommen. Dany is finally brought back to Vaes Dothrak, and discovers what her fate was originally supposed to be. We also check in briefly with Sam & Gilly, still on their way south to Oldtown. In Braavos, Arya continues to train with sticks & faces, and eventually is able to get her eyesight back. In Meereen, Varys interrogates the woman who was assisting the Sons of the Harpy and discovers that (shocker) the Slave Masters of Astapor, Yunkai & Volantis are bankrolling the Sons. God can we be done with Meereen. At Winterfell, Ramsay shores up his alliances, with the Umbers turning on their lifelong oath to the Starks by presenting Ramsay with a gift. It all ends with the next gangbuster moment, with Jon, freshly back from the dead and now being seen as a god by the Wildlings, executing Alliser Thorne and the rest of the Watch mutineers, including Olly, before ultimately stating that his watch is ended and abandoning the position of Lord Commander. Pat and I are back with another Talkin' Thrones episode as we get closer and closer to the finale! Next we have Season 6, Episode 2, "Home," another episode that is heavy on plot and introducing secondary character arcs, as we've grown accustomed to in the last couple seasons. This time, we finally have the return of Bran, to whom Pat & Dom dedicate a significant amount of time to breaking down what's been going on in his absense and how his lack of prescence may have contributed to Season 5's problems. Jon's fate hangs in the balance as the Night's Watch members prepare to defend his body. Arya is finally given a break from the Faceless Men. Jaime attempts to threaten the High Sparrow but finds him to be a much more devious opponent. Theon proclaims his intentions to return home, while Ramsay seizes complete control of Winterfell. Oh yeah, and Tyrion feels up some dragons. All of that and more, every Friday only on #talkinthrones --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talkintvpodcastgmailcom/support
We're officially here, the beginning of the end. It's been a fun road on Talkin' Thrones, but it all must eventually come to an end. So here we are with the premiere of arguably the biggest and most critically acclaimed season of the show, the big one, the one that gave us Battle of the Bastards, the one that surpassed the books, it's the Season 6 premiere, entitled "The Red Woman." Despite a very rushed and completely out of place, not to mention horribly mishandled exiting of Dorne from the main storyline, the premiere picks up right after the events of last season, showing what's happened to all the characters after the meriad of cliffhangers after Season 5. The remaining Night's Watch members loyal to Jon along with Ser Davos must figure out what to do in the aftermath of Jon's death and Ser Alliser seizing control of the Watch. Ramsay picks up the pieces after the victory over Stannis and is chastised by his father for losing Sansa. Sansa & Theon are quickly caught by Ramsay's troops until an unexpected save from Brienne and Podrick. Jaime returns to King's Landing and vows to help Cersei take back what's been taken from them, while the High Sparrow starts to play the game. Arya is beaten on the streets, helpless and blind, while Tyrion casually wanders the streets in a storyline that by all right should be awesome, him ruling Meereen, but instead plays out like just spinning its wheels until they can get Daenerys back. Speaking of Daenerys, Jorah & Daario are hard after her, while she finds herself right back where she started with the Dothraki. In a rather shocking and abrupt final moment meant to further emphasize what Melisandre is capable of, we discover her take off her jeweled pendant, revealing her true, ancient form. It's a jam packed premiere that's setting up for a hard and fast paced season that's going to result in an explosive climax, and you guys can keep up with all of it right here on the #talkintvpodcast --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talkintvpodcastgmailcom/support
Alright, we've officially reached the point of no return, Season 5, Episode 6, the infamous Dorne disaster, "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken." The Martell sigil words, which seems to signify the pigheadedness of all the characters and their actions as they move towards the finale. This is the second episode written by Bryan Cogman & directed by Jeremy Podeswa, and has become very controversial in the years since both for the changes made to the Dorne storyline as well as the ending scene, which presents Sansa being horrifically and rather brutally sexually assaulted by Ramsay on the night of their wedding, a moment that was heavily criticized as being gratuituous for the sake of being gratuituous rather than actually contributing to the story in a meaningful way. Jaime & Bronn finally reach the Water Gardens to rescue Myrcella, but are interrupted by the Sand Snakes as they also make their attempt to kidnap and kill her. Arya continues to clean bodies in the House of Black & White but is able to prove herself. Tyrion & Jorah are captured by slavers, but Tyrion convinces them to bring them to Meereen to Daenerys. In King's Landing, Loras is placed on trial but the High Sparrow stacks the tables against them and has both him & Margaery imprisoned. We're at the point of the show where Dom's problems really start to show with Season 5, Episode 3 "High Sparrow." As the title suggests, this episode is the introduction of the titular High Sparrow, the leader of the religious fanatical group known as the sparrows makes his appearance portrayed by Jonathan Pryce. The High Sparrow represents a very confusing element that comes to play in the later seasons, as the ideas behind the motivation of his character and his use of religious zealotism as a means of exacting some sort of philosophical revenge against the high lords for their destruction of the realm and plight of the commoners, but because of Benioff & Weiss' callous leap frogging over story logic points in order to reach their conclusion, it comes off as half baked like a majority of the second half of the show. Cersei realizes that Margaery is already making moves against her and attempts to retaliate by recruiting the High Sparrow to her side. Jon is faced with his first major decision as Lord Commander, Arya learns more about the House of Black & White, Littlefinger brings Sansa home, Brienne informs Podrick of her vow and Tyrion is kidnapped by an unlikely figure on his road to Daenerys. We are still meeting new characters and arriving at new locations in the 3rd and 4th episodes of season 5 on Game of Thrones. Turns out adapting two giant books into one season of TV means you have to pile it on and press it down. This week it's the Sand Snakes as Jaime and Bronn have a goofy fight on the beach, and Cersei wades through dank alleys to locate the High Sparrow. At the Wall, Jon says "no" to any funny business and in Meereen, Barristan and Grey Worm are...aw well look at the time. To be continued, I guess!
We send out a positive thought... and then? The funny. Mike (the control freak) gets a massive surprise... termites... money pit... reclaimed wood... and the syringes.
No One, not Bubba (@FittenTrim) nor Catfish (@cjgman67), was happy with the eight episode of HBO's Game Of Thrones based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire saga. But were you? Let us know on our Facebook page: http://facebook.com/doubleppodcastsThe episode starts with a deleted scene of Usurper brother Tommen talking to the High Sparrow.
Game of Thrones brought us yet another resurrection this week with the surprising return of fan favorite Sandor "The Hound" Clegane. With Jon, Benjen, and now our favorite chicken eating killer back is it possible that Westeros is starting to feel a little bit too safe? The Cast Beyond the Wall investigates this phenomenon along with the rest of the big reveals from this week's episode The Broken Man. Austin, Daniel and I give our initial reactions before diving into our scene by scene recap. This week was another great table-setter that featured a little bit more of the classic Game of Thrones monologuing that's been lacking in the breakneck pacing of the season so far. Margery proves that she's got the High Sparrow handled in her own way and even sends Lady Olenna Tyrell back to High Garden. Further north, the Starks have apparently discovered a magical means of teleportation as they recruit what's left of the northern houses. After suffering from a couple of lame storylines, it looks like Jaime's banishment from King's Landing might be the most interesting thing to happen to him in seasons. He's joined by Bronn as he's forced to retake Riverrun from the Blackfish. For those of you who may have forgotten, Brynden "The Blackfish" Tully, is Catelyn Stark's Uncle who escaped the clutches of The Red Wedding. Like what you hear? We've crossed the halfway mark of Game of Thrones season 6 and the show continues to show no sign of slowing down. Blood of my Blood marks yet another episode of reveals on longstanding mysteries for both book readers and show watchers. The gents of The Cast Beyond the Wall are joined by GoodTrash Media's very own Frightful Femme, Kirsten Therkelson. Things pick up with Bran immediately after last week's tragic sacrifice when he and Meera are rescued by none other than long lost Uncle Benjen Stark. After being attacked by white walkers, he's more zombie now than man, but he remains loyal to the Three-Eyed Raven. We talk a bit about the somewhat anti-climatic reveal as well as the meaning of the flashes of Westerosi history witnessed by Bran. After a week off, the show returned the wretched hive of scum and villainy of King's Landing. This week saw Margery and Tommen making a deal with the High Sparrow which gave him the upper hand when faced with Jaime and the Tyrell army. It was a surprising turn of events that led to Jaime's being set to Riverrun. That's right! After nearly fading into obscurity, Game of Thrones is heading back to the Riverlands to revisit the home of one Walder Frey. We discuss what this could mean heading into what appear to be the final chapter of the show. Like what you hear? Help us produce even more by supporting us on Patreon!

Game of Thrones season 6 returned with a notably strong sophomore outing filled major coups, unexpected plot turns, and even a little bit of Tyrion dragon whispering action. The Cast Beyond the Wall is back to recap, theorize, and analyze the scene by scene break down of a scene by scene betrayals. This week marks the return of the majorly MIA Greyjoys. After being away from the action for years, it looks the House is back to sow some major storylines. What better way to mark the return of the "winner" of the War of the five kings than a good old fashion pirate mutiny. Austin chimes in with his thoughts on Balon's mysterious brother and what it could mean for later in the season. There are a number of cool moments including Jaime's standoff with High Sparrow, but the really moving and shaking in this episode was happening in the North. In a shocking turn of events, Ramsey Bolton finally crossed the line and took out Roose. We try to decide how many of the Bolton's numbered days are left. We also can't wrap up the discussion without talking Bran's newfound superpower to look into the past or Jon Snow's awakening. What did you think of the closing moments, and will the Greyjoys make a major return this year? Sound off in comments and we'll read your thoughts on air next week! All hands on deck as the guys dive into the penultimate episode of season 5 and find themselves at the mercy of the High Sparrow.
This week's episode of Game of Thrones was season 5's most action-packed installment yet, thanks to the rise of the Faith Militant and the growing threat of the Sons of the Harpy. Joining us in our in-depth discussion of the events that took place is We Got This Covered writer Sam Woolf, who has some of his own interesting theories and reactions to this week's shocking cliffhanger. In case you missed it, “Sons of the Harpy” ramped up the events in King's Landing when Cersei decided to arm the Faith Militant and name the High Sparrow the High Septon of the realm. She taunted Margery by having the Sparrows arrest Loras Tyrell for crimes against the gods and left the newly crowned King Tommen to pick up the pieces. While all hell broke loose in the capital, Jamie and Bronn landed in Dorne and continued their suicide rescue mission for Princess Myrcella. The Dornish storyline also brought us our first look at Oberyn's bastards, known as the Sand Snakes, and we try to decide if they live up to his legend. In northern Westeros, Jon Snow survived Melissandre's first seduction attempt while Stannis finally revealed the softer side of his hardened heart. He continues to be one of the most controversial characters on the show and we weigh in on the merit of his methods, intentions and recently discovered love for his daughter. Finally, we round out this week's exciting discussion by talking about the climactic skirmish between Greyworm, Barristan Selmy and a band of harpies that had us clamoring for more. Will Barristan pull out of the battle in one piece, or have we seen the last of the greatest living night in Westeros? Tune into the latest episode of The Cast Beyond The Wall to find out! Bubba(@FittenTrim) and Catfish (@cjgman67) breakdown the episode of HBO's Game of Thrones and George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, get into a huge debate about the political roll of the Night's Watch, question why Sansa would agree to this marriage, and general enjoy an episode that they rated only 7/10
High Sparrow was the most eventful Game of Thrones episode so far this season and The Cast Beyond the Wall is back to break down some of the most shocking moments. High Sparrow brought us one of Jon Snow's most character defining moments yet as he put Janos Slynt's head to on the chopping block. His first act as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch was undoubtedly a bold one we've been waiting to talk about. Is Jon laying down the law or planting the seeds of betrayal among his men? The north was chocked full of shocking twists, but none of them as surprising as Sansa's planned betrothal to known sociopath Ramsey Bolton. What does this mean for the last known Stark and Littlefinger's grand masterplan? Daniel, Austin, and I talk all of the possible moves and the brilliance of the strategy to take Westeros. In what seems like the first time in Game of Thrones history, the series featured a wedding going as planned. Margery has finally taken the claim to power in King's Landing and Cersei isn't taking it well. What exactly does her alliance with the High Sparrow mean in her plot to undermind Margery? This week was full of classic Game of Thrones moments and we've got each and every moment covered in our glorious pop culture filled discussion.
