WE BRING YOU THE ACTION FROM SATURDAY AT KNOCKHILL WHERE MERCEDES FINALLY ARRIVE.
Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!IMSA went to Road America where they held their first 6 hour endurance race there. The racing was good but came with some controversy. A lot of cautions mainly due to the LMP2s and with some inconsistencies on rulings from race control lead to on track battles overheating on track leading to a very hard ending for two drivers and teams. Wayne Taylor Racing took the victory in the end for GTP which is a great result for them as this Cadillac has been eluding them lately compared to the Whelan Cadillac team. Pfaff in the new Lamborghini Temerario took the win in GTD Pro giving the Temerario its first international endurance racing victory!Coming up this weekend: IndyCar is at Portland, NASCAR is in Iowa, BTCC is at Knockhill, Super Formula is at Sugo, and MotoGP is at Silverstone.
A BONNIE WEEKEND IN SCOTLAND IS UPON US, WE PREVIEW ALL THE POSSIBLE ACTION.

In this week's episode of Stories From SuperTouring, we kick off Series 8 with a bang as Alex is joined by Gabriele Tarquini to look back on his unforgettable 1994 BTCC title-winning season. From the controversy surrounding the Alfa 155's aerodynamics, to the explosive row at Oulton Park that left him questioning his future, and the huge crash at Knockhill, it's a campaign packed with drama. It all builds to one of the most iconic championship victories of the Super Touring era.
Jon Summers and co-host Mark Gammie discuss the British Touring Car Championship with a focus on its 1990s peak, while placing it in historical context from early British saloon car racing through eras featuring cars like the Ford Galaxie, Lotus Cortina, Vauxhall “Big Bertha/Baby Bertha,” Capris and Rover SD1s. They recall late-1980s/early-1990s battles between Sierra Cosworths and BMW E30 M3s, the excitement of Murray Walker's commentary, and BTCC's NASCAR-like contact on narrow UK club circuits such as Brands Hatch, Donington, Thruxton, Cadwell Park, Knockhill, and Snetterton. They cover the two-liter, 8,000-rpm formula, heavy manufacturer involvement, memorable moments involving Tarquini, Mansell, and Plato, the influence of the TOCA Touring Car video game, and how rising costs and aero/regulation changes reduced factory participation and spectator interest after 2000. ===== (Oo---x---oO) ===== 00:00 BTCC Origins and NASCAR Parallel 02:54 Jack Sears and the Ford Galaxie 05:56 Jerry Marshall and Vauxhall Berthas 09:38 Capris vs Rover SD1 + TV Era 13:22 First BTCC Memories Sierras and M3s 14:35 Murray Walker 16:27 Club Circuits Brands to Cadwell, Thruxton, and Goodwood 24:11 Nineties Contact and Iconic Crashes 26:12 F1 Cameos Chaos 27:02 TOCA Game Memories 27:33 BTCC Rules and Money: Why It Beat F1 33:47 Favorite Tracks And Cars 35:15 Renault Laguna Road Car Tales 41:20 Drivers And Skill Gap 43:53 Reg Creep And Decline 46:19 Everyman Cars, Taxi Driver, Wrap Up And Credits! ==================== The Motoring Podcast Network : Years of racing, wrenching and Motorsports experience brings together a top notch collection of knowledge, stories and information. #everyonehasastory #gtmbreakfix - motoringpodcast.net More Information: Visit Our Website Become a VIP at: Patreon Online Magazine: Gran Touring Follow us on Social: Instagram Jon Summers is the Motoring Historian. Alan, Lynsay McEwen, and Sancha Martin dive into the chaos, cold, and community spirit of Scotland's winter OCR scene. From missing McTurf FOMO to icy lollipop obstacles, mud traps, and the legendary pipe‑band race starts, nothing is off‑limits. They debate the worst obstacles ever invented, and unpack why McTuff keeps pulling massive crowds despite its brutal conditions. Alan also shares big news on upcoming MacTuff events — including a Knockhill return and kids' courses, and a Yorkshire expansion — before the trio close with a heartfelt tribute to Alexander Thompson. A fast‑paced, muddy, and very Scottish episode celebrating the grit and heart of OCR. We're heading back to 1992 for the first-ever BTCC round at Knockhill — a landmark Scottish debut that also saw Colin McRae jump into the series for a one-off appearance.Photographer Greg Denton joins us again, so expect fierce Super Touring action, a brand-new circuit on the calendar, and a fearless rally legend taking on the BTCC regulars.
The best motorsport entertainment anywhere in the world last weekend was in the United Kingdom with BSB and BTCC British Super Bikes headed to Thruxton, whilst the British Touring Cars were north of the border at Knockhill, Scotland. While WSB records were broken in Portugal and a very dull NASCAR race exploded into controversy on the very last lap But before we go there, there was some epic rallying going on in Iceland where Paul joined the Defender Series for their gruelling Iceland Hill Rally!
Send us a Text Message. This week's guest, in proud association with Zerofit baselayers, has had a difficult time over the last 12 months in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. After sustaining a career-threatening injury during the Knockhill test in '23, coupled with helping develop a brand-new Honda Fireblade for '24, it's not been an easy time for the likeable Northern Irishman. The good news is the Fireblade is working extremely well and even better news is he's as fit as he's ever been and more importantly, he's happy, and a happy rider is a fast rider as Knockhill would prove! Ladies and gentlemen, it's Andrew Irwin! This episode was sponsored by Zerofit – King of Baselayers® - who have BSB riders Glenn Irwin, Lee Jackson and Andrew Irwin wearing their products for the 2024 season. Off Track Podcast listeners and viewers can now receive a FREE ZEROFIT THERMAL BEANIE worth £20 when they purchase any baselayer from www.zerofit.co.uk – use code OT24 when you're checking out!
