Episode: 00307 Released on February 23, 2026 Description: In this episode of Analyst Talk with Jason Elder, David Grabelski shares insights from a 55-year career spanning LAPD homicide, gang investigations, NDIC intelligence work, and teaching at Mercyhurst University. He discusses the early days of link analysis, visual investigative charting, and how analytical thinking shaped real-world investigations long before modern tools existed. David also introduces the “Life Triangle” of time, health, and wealth, and how it applies not only to career progression but to long-term professional sustainability. The conversation explores intelligence failures, the importance of broad experience over early specialization, and why skillsets matter more than tools in the evolving world of analysis. This episode is essential listening for analysts navigating career growth, technological change, and the balance between expertise, impact, and longevity in the profession.
Hello Brave Friends! In this special collaboration episode, Jessica Patay and Susanna Peace Lovell are joined by Tash Dillmon and Brittney Crabtree, two of the hosts of Moms Talk Autism for a heartfelt and reflective conversation about podcasting, parenting, and the power of community.Together, they reflect on how podcasting has transformed their lives as mothers raising children with autism and how building connection—especially during the isolation of the pandemic—became essential. What began as a creative outlet became something much deeper: a space for vulnerability, resilience, and shared stories that remind caregivers they are not alone. This conversation explores the ongoing journey of grief and how it often resurfaces in everyday moments. Brittney shares, “Grief is an ocean for me,” capturing the cyclical and layered nature of caregiving. The group discusses how joy and heartache coexist, how community stories offer perspective and hope, and why vulnerability fosters deeper connection. They also honor the unique perspectives dads bring to caregiving and the importance of diversifying support systems. From the challenges and rewards of podcasting to the quiet strength that grows when we share our stories, this episode is a reminder that we are doing this together.Find more information about Moms Talk Autism here.To subscribe to Moms Talk Autism see Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Spotify.Find more information about Life Coach, Susanna Peace Lovell here.Find Susanna's book, Your True Self is Enough here.Find our first book from We Are Brave Together Brave Together Podcast is a resource produced by We Are Brave Together, a global nonprofit that creates community for moms raising children with disabilities, neurodivergence, or complex medical and mental health conditions. Episode: 00306 Released on February 16, 2026 Description: Real-Time Crime Centers continue to expand in both scope and responsibility, and drones are quickly becoming one of the most discussed emerging tools in the field. In this sixth installment of the Real Crime All The Time series on Analyst Talk with Jason Elder, Nikki North shares how Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs are being integrated into crime centers, what analysts and managers need to consider, and how staffing, training, legal concerns, and operational policies all play a role. Nikki breaks down how drones function as mobile cameras, the importance of FAA regulations, night flight training, weather considerations, and how agencies are strategically placing base stations based on call volume. The conversation also highlights how drones can support proactive policing, site assessments, disaster response, and real-time situational awareness beyond traditional camera networks. The episode also touches on a major career transition as Nikki moves from the public sector to the private industry, discussing why analysts are increasingly making that shift and how technology platforms are evolving toward a “single pane of glass” for analytical workflows. This episode is especially valuable for RTCC analysts, crime analysts, and agency leaders who are evaluating new technology adoption while balancing staffing, policy, and operational realities.

Episode: 00305 Released on February 9, 2026 Description: Many crime analysts are uncertain which AI tools are appropriate, useful, or even relevant to their role. In the fifth installment of Catching Up with Dawn, Dawn Reeby breaks down where artificial intelligence actually fits in crime analysis by focusing on practical tools analysts can use today. The conversation walks through specific examples involving ChatGPT, NotebookLM, and other AI-assisted platforms for tasks like creating cheat sheets, drafting policies, organizing meeting notes, developing roll-call videos, and communicating outcomes to leadership. Dawn also reminds listeners that Excel was once viewed with skepticism and is now standard in analytical work, reinforcing that AI is not a replacement for analysts but another evolution in the toolkit. Throughout the discussion, the emphasis remains on analyst judgment, review, and ethics, showing how AI supports stronger, more efficient analysis rather than replacing it.
Episode: 00304 Released on February 2, 2026 Description: New tools often arrive faster than the discipline needed to use them well. Randy Stickley returns for another installment of Before You Leap to examine how artificial intelligence is entering analytic workflows and what analysts must consider before relying on it. The discussion explores AI hallucinations, large language models, writing and research augmentation, and the enduring role of human judgment in law enforcement analysis. Through real-world examples, cognitive illusions, and courtroom implications, this episode outlines where AI can support analysts, where it can mislead them, and why tradecraft, validation, and critical thinking must remain firmly in the driver's seat.

Powered by Firstory Hosting

Family, "Me and God gonna have a lot of talks about forgiveness on this one..." The holiday tradition continues! While we are still on our winter break, we are bringing you the conclusion of our annual end-of-year takeover with Kris and Shana of the Bad Queers Podcast. In Part 2, we're moving from the heat of July through the final moments of December to wrap up what can only be described as a "dumpster fire" of a year with a little bit of grace and a lot of laughs. In Part 2, we're getting into: The Wins: Lambda Legal's massive $6.2 million victory and Anna's beautiful "Shine a Light on It" exhibit. The Mess: From the WNBA "Green Sex Toy" marketing stunt to the Charlie Kirk fallout and the end of the Dinah Shore era. Bad Queer Opinions: Why we're "too gay to be transphobic" and why some folks are officially not welcome in the circle in 2026. The All-Star Vision: Anna, Kris, and Shana manifest a "Black & Gay as Hell" Summer 2026 in Chicago for the WNBA All-Star Game. It's been a wild year, family, but we are closing it out with the people who make us laugh the loudest. We'll be back with our standard Queer News episode next week, but for now enjoy the chaos! And don't forget… Independent Black queer media runs on your support. If you love this crossover, make sure to show some love to the Bad Queers fam!
Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Williams, Marlon and Luke as Ben Davies netted his first Spurs goal for over two years but it wasn't enough to earn us the win as Sunderland hit a late equaliser on Sunday afternoon. The Welsh defender was on hand in the first half to give us the lead on what was his first start of the season – his first goal since scoring in the 4-2 defeat at Brighton on 28 December, 2023. However, the Black Cats levelled with 10 minutes remaining through Brian Brobbey as we had to settle for a point in an entertaining encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The draw in our opening home match of 2026 took our unbeaten Premier League run against Sunderland to 15 matches and leaves us 13th in the table. We also discuss the latest developments of Spurs during this summer transfer window, as Tottenham Hotspur have had an £8million ($10.7m) bid for Santos left-back Souza rejected. The Brazilian side have turned down Spurs' offer for the 19-year-old. Santos are hesitant to accept a bid for the teenager whom they have high hopes for and believe his value may increase in the future. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Luke, Marlon and Patrick as a New Year's Day stalemate took place at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium on Thursday evening as we played out a rare goalless draw in the Premier League. Co-founder, Paul Oxborough and trustee Mary Lomas join us in the studio this week to not only reach out to any of our listeners struggling at the moment, but also spread awareness of the work they do and the subsidised mental health first aid training they offer. Hopefully you can take something from this. Send us a textThe loudest voices online say will have you believing real love and commitment don't exist. We're here to prove the opposite. Newlywed Nyla joins us to share how therapy gave her the tools to self-regulate, why deep conversation beat small talk every time, and how choosing for the future—not just the moment—changed everything. From vulnerability to values, her story offers a grounded, hopeful perspective on finding and building love that will last.We talk about safety as something you can feel: patience when you're tender, kindness when you're overwhelmed, and the quiet confidence of being fully yourself without performance. Nyla gets specific about ditching her “type,” writing a values-first list, and dating with honesty across multiple connections until real commitment was clear. We unpack red flags vs. fixable friction, agreements that keep conflict from turning into punishments, and the simple discipline of never weaponizing silence. It's practical, not preachy—communication, boundaries, and mutual respect. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a hopeful nudge, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway—we read every word! That's the heartbeat of our conversation with Diane “Mama D” Jackson, the mother, wife, and entrepreneur who turned a family-nudged cookbook idea into a fast-growing, health-forward granola brand. We dive into the creative detour that changed everything: from staging a full cookbook photoshoot to discovering that flavor experiments were the real signal. Vanilla toffee with chocolate, cookie butter that won first-class taste buds, seasonal hot cocoa with roasted marshmallows, and a sweet-and-salty pretzel remix—each batch pulled her closer to a purpose she could feel. Leslie is joined by Scott Paul, President of the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), a partnership established by some of America's leading manufacturers and the United Steelworkers union. The two discuss: 1. The Wall Street Journal recently documented the stark disparity between China and America's military-industrial strength in a series of graphs. The results are downright alarming, especially as geopolitical tensions flare. The data illustrate the urgent need for the United States to take action to revitalize our domestic shipbuilding industry. 2. With tariffs coming into force, Made in the USA marketing is surging. U.S. consumers are rejiggering their purchasing habits, as evidenced by a boom in “Made in USA” searches on e-commerce sites, and companies are more than happy to tout their “Made in USA” commitments. (From Modern Retail: “Amazon searches for the phrase shot up to 126,000 from 26,000 in the past 30 days — nearly five times the previous period.”) 3. The state of our infrastructure and energy grid is dire. It's a crisis that creates another obstacle to U.S. manufacturing's renaissance and America's competitiveness. 4. This time, the China Shock is global in nature. Beijing is flooding the world's markets with its industrial overcapacity across all categories, and job losses and bankruptcies are trailing the imports.
