Be aware of your attachment wounds. Your attachment wounds are exposed in intimate relationships where vulnerability, trust, and safety are most vital. That's why someone you really care about can deeply trigger your wounds. Knowing what they are is the first step in being able to have healthy adult relationships. Resilience is the key. Her personal experiences with trauma brought her to her current work, which focuses on those who struggle in their adult relationships based on attachment wounds of the past. You can become a healthy adult. The PIVOT process will help you uncover the tools you need to form healthy relationships in all aspects of your live. Memorable Quotes/Advice From Lori “We tolerate relationships that aren't good because we were drawn to what's familiar regardless of merit, and we want to have a corrective experience. I call it waiting for Christmas—we're going to stay in it until it changes, and it's not going to change until we have enough of motivation and a commitment to ourselves to lean into it to stay the distance until we can create change within the context of the relationship. But instead, people will just walk around the perimeter of their own equators in relationships and be afraid to jump in.”

Mentor and relationship coach Lori Jean Glass joins us to discuss how her PIVOT process works and all of the specific modules offered for couples and individuals, what onboarding is and why we need to know if it has happened, how to look in the rearview mirror to reflect on childhood trauma and why it tends to be overlooked in adulthood, why it can be dangerous to jump into certain types of relationship analysis before really understanding yourself first, whether it’s healthier to date offensively versus defensively, how to determine who someone is intellectually, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially and what your non-negotiables are, why commitment, consistency, being well met and well matched are more important than love, how a relational governing body can help keep a marriage together, and what Lori Jean thinks about Jen and Lauren‘s individual wants and how that affects where they are in their lives and relationships now! Lori Jean Glass is an educator, mentor, public speaker, and certified relationship, professional, and bereavement coach. She is the CEO and founder of PIVOT, a relational alignment group comprised of trained coaches and therapists certified in The PIVOT Process. Lori Jean's personal experiences brought her to her current work, which focuses on those who struggle in their adult relationships based on attachment wounds of the past. She is also the CEO and founder of The Glass House, a residential setting offering workshops for individuals, couples, and families to take a deep dive into the PIVOT Process to get high impact solutions to achieve positive relational outcomes. Lori Jean created the PIVOT process to help people attach more securely to one another in their relationships and not let all of the trauma of their past, stop them from learning how to attach securely. The work done within this program is universal and transferable depending on who you are and what you want out of a relationship. The PIVOT process ultimately helps individuals to identify what’s causing various attachment issues in their relationships through storytelling of their own life, and then how to move forward in a more secure way. The result of the PIVOT program for many is that clients will no longer create the level of chaos and dysfunction that they used to create in their life. They can still fall down, but getting healthy again is much easier. Lori Jean refers to this as “popping back into healthy alignment” whenever they fall down. This means that they are now able to apply good rational thinking and a level of emotional intelligence with healthy action to move through what brought them down. “Listen to your gut - if you know you’re struggling, don’t give up and find a solution for the struggle … and acknowledge that the struggle is real because it is. If you go and you talk with someone and it’s not working, turn the page and try something new. Just because someone says they can help you, doesn’t mean they can. You keep listening to what you’re feeling until you meet the right system that will work for you; a system that has a combination of both healing properties and teaching you something new about relationships. If you come from a traumatic or challenging situation, many of you missed out on learning what it is like to be in a healthy relationship so it’s important that you learn what you need to expect from yourself based on who you are and where you come from. Don’t underestimate the power that the old trauma can have and how it’s affecting your life.” Get in Touch with Lori Jean Glass: Feel free to send an inquiry to Lori Jean through any of her three websites; personal, PIVOT or The Glass House Intensive (websites listed below). Lori Jean is also a published author and her book #HealthyAdult is all about pivoting from fantasy to reality, confusion to clarity, and isolation to connection in a relationship. It starts as her own memoir, then she goes into anonymously shared storytelling, and the last part of the book is the PIVOT process; what it is, how to apply it to your life, and then it allows the reader to engage in this process if it resonates.
