The Jaguars haven’t won in Nashville since the year Luke Joeckel was drafted. Look it up. Still viable, though. This episode is funny and will make you smile, unlike your football team.

The Seahawks won a huge game against the Eagles on Sunday, and the HB crew was in a celebratory mood in a reunion episode of Real Hawk Talk. After a long hiatus, Brian was able to rejoin the show and catch up with Jeff, Evan, and newly shorn Nathan. Discussions ranged from what exactly we took away from the win over Philly, to how things have changed with Jimmy Graham, Sheldon Richardson, and Luke Joeckel. We also looked ahead to Jacksonville and the guys tried to convince Brian not to fear the Jags defense, while he argued the team should play conservatively and let Blake Bortles lose the game.

With the Seahawks coming off their bye week, Adam and Brandan take a look around the NFC West to see how the rest of the division fared while the team was resting up. No new injuries came to light, but we did hear an updated timeline for Luke Joeckel. The guys discuss what that will mean for the offensive line until he can return. The New York Giants are returning back home after a big win over the Denver Broncos. After losing four of their receivers, including Odell Beckham Jr, their rookie tight end emerged as Eli Manning's top target. Orleans Darkwa was also a big part of the Giants win along with a big game from Jason Pierre-Paul and Janoris Jenkins on defense. Pete Carroll commented on how it was great to see this Giants team playing at its best and that there was a lot they could gain from watching it. With the upcoming game against the Giants, we highlight one of the top Seahawks bars in the country by bringing on Patrick Shalvoy. Patrick was the bartender there who helped make it a destination for all Seahawks fans on Sunday. After getting things established in 2009, he shares the story of the moment the bar solidified itself as a place where Seahawks fans will always have a home. He also shares his story about how fans and bar patrons rallied around him after a stroke nearly took his life. In the last portion of the show, we get an update from a member of the flock who has Adam's favorite catch phrase resonating through the Pentagon. Do better nods go to Skip Bayless as well as anyone crying about a play that continues to emphasize the importance of ball security near the goal line. The guys talk about a former Seahawks lineman who gets an honorary Better at Life nomination from Washington's Lieutenant Governor. Adam recognizes a former Lakers legend for doing the right thing when Skip Bayless wasn't, and Brandan recognizes a big milestone for any fans of cryptozoology. Hawks Playbook Podcast Episode 32 The LA Chronicles Open: Welcome to the Hawks Playbook Podcast. Thanks for joining your Hosts Bill Alvstad and Keith Myers. Our Seattle Seahawks enter their bye week in 1st place after beating the Rams 16-10 on the road in LA.  In the News Michael Bennett has plantar fasciitis issue. Luke Joeckel having knee surgery to clean up some meniscus debris left over from his ACL/MCL repair last fall. Joeckel will miss Giants game and will back after that. Seahawks worked out LT Brandon Albert, who ended up leaving without a deal, and inquired about trading for Houston’s Duane Brown.  Featured Segment 1: Seahawks escape LA with 16-10 win over the Rams Wilson was 24/31 for 198 yards, 1 TD and 1 Int. No running game without Carson. Rawls 8 carries for 20 yards, Lacy 9 carries for 19 yards and McKissic 2 carries for 0 yards.  Defense holds NFL’s top offense to 10 points despite lack of offensive consistency to help, zero points in second half. Defense collected 5 turnovers, including two each by Earl Thomas and Sheldon Richardson. Featured Segment 2: How do we fix the offense? Bill and Keith discuss several different ways in which the Seahawks could get more efficiency out of their offense. Other fixes could include other schematic changing to line blocking, quick hitting pass routes and expanding the role of Russell Wilson in the Read Option look, especially if the team also added a few pass plays out of the read option to further complicate the job of the defense to defend those types of plays. HAWKS PLAYBOOK PODCAST EPISODE 12  - CAMP BATTLES OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE LINES  Coach Tom Cable has indicated his initial desire to move Mark Glowinski from Left Guard, where he took his snaps in 2016, over to the Right Guard position in 2017.  His spot on that side may end up being contingent on the battle to take place at Right Tackle between Germain Ifedi and newcomer, Ethan Pocic, who Seattle acquired in April’s NFL Draft.  Cable says he wants the best 5 linemen on the field, and that still may mean that the loser of the RT position battle, still may be one of the best five, and end up taking the Right Guard spot.  Does this sound a bit complicated? Listen to the show and Bill and Keith will run down all the variables and give you some clear ideas on the most likely offensive line roster outcomes.   Open: Welcome to the Podcast.  With Host Bill Alvstad and Seattle Seahawks writer Keith Myers. In the News:     •  War of words with Michael Bennett.  Stephen A. Smith, and Seattle Times columnist Matt Calkins     • OTA’s delayed due to excessive contact penalty during 2016 mini-camps. We will now have 7 practice sessions instead of 10.  Minicamp now starts next week.   Offensive Line Position Battles: Center: Justin Britt, Joey Hunt, Will Pericak Guard: Oday Aboushi, Jordan Roos, Mark Glowinski Guard/Tackle: Germaine Ifedi, Luke Joeckel, Ethan Pocic, Rees Odhiambo Tackle: George Fant, Robert Myers, Justn Senior   Next Week: Defensive Line Position Battles!  Close

After addressing their offensive line by signing Luke Joeckel last week, the Seahawks look to make an impact to their running game by signing Eddie Lacy. Adam and Brandan don't agree that Lacy actually improves the running game as Adam thinks the money would be better put to use on the offensive line. Wayne Henderson of the Packers Fan Podcast joins the show to offer his thoughts based on what he's seen from Lacy in his four years in Green Bay. Adam's belief is that there are several running backs in the draft the Seahawks could have taken a look at and brings up a running back from Oklahoma who broke all kinds of records. With all the news focusing on the unsubstantiated trade rumors, Adam decides to cook up one of his own that is just as likely as any of the rest. If you're a writer for Bleacher Report, you're going to want to tune in and write a story, because it'll bring in the clicks! Wrapping up the passionate discussion from both sides with regard to Lacy, the guys decide to put down a wager on it and our members of the flock are encouraged to get in on it, too. If you go to getintheflock.com and believe Brandan is right and Lacy will get more than 600 all-purpose yards with the team next season, join Team Cheeseburger in Paradise. If you think Lacy falls short of that number, you can join Adam and Team China Food Chubster. Marshawn Lynch is back in the news for what is becoming an annual tradition, that he'll return to the NFL and play for his hometown Raiders. Adam also takes a look at an article from Hawkblogger shows that shows how the Seahawks missed out on an opportunity to address the offensive line last season and how it has created a problem for this offseason. In Do Better, Brandan looks at how the news about Richard Sherman being a potential trade option unfolded in the media while Adam addresses issues surrounding Colin Kaepernick's situation.  Better at life honors this week go to Frank Clark, who Adam now shares a new kinship with, and to a current and former Seahawks player who were both honored at this year's 82nd Annual MTRWestern Sports Star Of The Year Awards. Nat, Mike and Dan have abilities of sporting recall beyond those of normal men but at last Iron Mike reveals quite why the draft is entirely his bitch... In other news: Rain Man the Animated Series gets pitched; Mike reccommends good stuff; Oliver Stone gets discussed, later on so to awful awful fims - the two may be related or may not be;  The Draft took place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and boy were there some surprises… Eric Fisher went first to the Chiefs, leaving Luke Joeckel to the Jaguars; only one quarterback went in the first round – Ej Manuel going to the Bills despite a series of Mock Drafts linking them with Ryan Nassib; in the NBA we’re entering the final games of the first round, but not for San Antonio and Miami, who are both through; Miami swept the Bucks without Dwayne Wade, and even though Lebron put up thirty in game 4 they probably could have done it without him too; the 2012-13 NHL playoffs are under way and last night the Presidents Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks took on the Minnesota Wild inn the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and the Blackhawks took it in OT with a breakaway goal from Bryan Bickell; in St Louis, the current champion LA Kings went down in overtime thanks to a cheeky short handed goal by Alex Steen, who stole the puck from Jonathan Quick and nicked his second. Would have been fine but Quick’s opposite number Bryan Elliott had a great game; in the other game, Detroit, who muddled into the playoffs, went down 3-1 in Anaheim; Teemu Selane got his 42nd playoffs goal, one for every year he has spent on this earth; loads of great listener questions in the Bodeans Mailbag; another cracker of a game from Dan and much, much more...
