92.9 The Game Atlanta Falcons Reporter Joe Patrick speaks about the return of Darnell Mooney to Falcons practice today, the rookies named starters in the secondary, the Falcons defense possibly being able to create turnovers as the risk of allowing big plays, the plans at Right Tackle with Kaleb McGary out, and if that injury changes his outlook for the Falcons season.
HR1 - Falcons just need someone serviceable at right tackle for first four games In hour one Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac react to the news that the Atlanta Falcons placed starting right tackle Kaleb McGary on the season ending injured reserved list yesterday when they released their initial 53-man roster. Ali, Mike, and Beau also react to the news that the Seattle Seahawks are sending offensive tackle Michael Jerrell to the Falcons for a conditional 2027 seventh-round pick, and explain why they think that the Falcons were never going to make a bigger move than trading for a guy like Michael Jerrell when it comes to bringing in another offensive tackle. The Morning Shift crew also gives you their reactions to the Falcons' initial 53-man roster, talk about how the Falcons' initial 53-man roster came with plenty of surprises at a few different positions yesterday, react to the latest college football headlines, discuss what teams could be on upset alert this weekend in week one of the college football season, and explain why they think Tennessee could be on upset alert in their week one matchup versus Syracuse in Atlanta on Saturday in the Aflac Kickoff game.
During the 4pm hour of today's show Chuck & Chernoff talked about Kirby Smart, the College Football Hall of Fame, ESPN's Top 100 NFL Player List, Haynes King, Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Kaleb McGary being out for the season and what the Falcons will do at Right Tackle now before wrapping up the show with some Unfinished Business. HR1 - Elijah Wilkinson getting valuable reps at right tackle tonight is worth injury risk In hour one Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac react to ESPN NFL Senior reporter Jeremy Fowler reporting yesterday that Atlanta Falcons right tackle Kaleb McGary will miss time on the apparent leg injury he suffered Wednesday at practice, per his source, who also added that the exact timetable was not immediately known. Mike, Beau, and Ali also explain why they think that Fowler reporting McGary will miss time this year is really not saying much. Then, The Morning Shift crew discusses if now starting right tackle for the Atlanta Falcons Elijah Wilkinson should play in the Falcons' preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys tonight, and explain why they think he should play and get some reps at right tackle. Ali, Mike, and Beau also talk about what else they'll be watching out for tonight in the Falcons' final preseason game. The Morning Shift crew also previews the two week zero games that are happening tomorrow in college football including farmageddon between No. 17 Kansas State taking on No. 22 Iowa State at home. Mike, Beau, and Ali also react to the SEC officially announcing they're moving to a nine game conference schedule next season, explain why they think the College Football Playoff selection committee using new enhanced metrics is a big part of why the SEC is finally going to play a nine game conference schedule, and then The Morning Shift crew closes out hour one by diving into the life of Ali Mac in Ali's Mac Drop!
92.9 The Game Atlanta Falcons Reporter Joe Patrick speaks about not having an update yet on Kaleb McGary but expecting him to be out for a substantial length of time, who the options are to replace McGary at Right Tackle, what the Falcons can offer if they were looking to find a lineman in a trade, the continuing position battles at nickel corner and safety.
HR1 - Elijah Wilkinson more than capable of holding his own at right tackle for Falcons In hour one Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac react to the news that Atlanta Falcons starting right tackle Kaleb McGary was carted off the practice field yesterday with an apparent lower leg injury, and they also reacted to the news that Falcons backup swing tackle Storm Norton underwent ankle surgery on Tuesday and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, so Falcons' offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson is currently replacing McGary at right tackle. Ali, Mike, and Beau also talk about how the Kaleb McGary injury sucks, but it's not time for the Falcons or Falcons fans to hit the panic button. The Morning Shift crew also explains why Falcons fans and the media need to have patience when it comes to getting more information about McGary's injury. Then, Ali, Mike, and Beau talk about a cool opportunity Ali, Grant, Beau, and Amy will probably miss out on because of their schedules, react to the College Football Playoff selection committee announcing that it will announce its first of six rankings CFP rankings on November 4th using enhanced metrics to help evaluate schedule strength and how teams perform against their slate, explain why they think the College Football Playoff selection committee should've been using enhanced metrics the entire time, and then close out the hour by diving into the life of Ali Mac in Ali's Mac Drop!

Chris Carter breaks down the pick, where he had Fautanu on his top 100 big board, and how Fautanu fits with the plans on offense. Also, did the Steelers make a mistake and pass on center? Chris doesn't think so, because only one center was taken in the first round. But what could be done to get their center in the second round? The New Orleans Saints may end up not having Ryan Ramczyk for this season, or at least for the long run. Players like JC Latham and Taliese Fuaga could be the answer in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Helping Trevor Penning regain his starting role at left tackle should be the Saints' top priority and trading back sounds like fun, but doesn't match the typical approach of New Orleans' drafts. If they do trade back, doing so in the first round isn't necessary. JOIN SUBTEXT: https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonsaints Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
