Ecclesiastes 6:1-5 The author of Ecclesiastes continues to observe that riches in life don't necessarily bring satisfaction or joy. Joy is not determined by the changing circumstances of life, but by focusing on Jesus, the immovable foundation. His values conflict with the world's values. Are you living life on the periphery, controlled by circumstances, or are you focused on Jesus? Website: immanuelde.com Facebook: immanuelchurchwilmington YouTube: Immanuel Church Wilmington DE
Be Immovable! Jessica Jecker, Simply Jecker
David reflects upon his own sinfulness and the LORD's grace. He considers how the LORD shapes the lives of His people whom He has made His own by grace and faithfulness. Those who belong to the LORD walk according to the Word He has given, which influences the words of their mouths and the deeds of their hands. Those who belong to the LORD love those who share the true faith but ignore those whose way is wicked. The one who lives thus in the LORD is immovable, for he is founded upon Jesus, the One who has done these things perfectly. Rev. Sam Beltz, pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa, IA, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Psalm 15. To learn more about St. John Lutheran, visit www.stjohnosky.org. Join Sharper Iron this summer to study selected Psalms. In the Psalter, God speaks His Word to us and teaches us how to speak back to Him in prayer. Even in the great variety of the Psalms, each one points us to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to: listener@kfuo.org

Are there ROCKS in YOUR schedule? ROCKS are IMMOVABLE commitments. Those priorities that are unchangeable. As a working Christ-follower, what are some of YOUR ROCKS? Here are some of mine: Time with the Lord. Family commitments. And anything I have given my word to, to be there. Is WORK one of YOUR ROCKS? If it is, maybe it's time to look at that rock, and decrease its size, or the amount of space it's taking on your calendar. Don't' let Luke 20:18 define how you live and manage your life. “Everyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone it falls on.” So how about YOU? Is work a stone YOU'RE stumbling over? How about crushing that rock and use it to make a path to more time with family?

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. US bureau chief Jacob Magid joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's Daily Briefing. Children across the Diaspora came to school wearing Batman costumes in honor of the slain Bibas boys, Kfir and Ariel. And last night, thousands came to Tel Aviv's Hostages Square for the Purim eve reading of the Book of Esther. The gathering, which includes Israelis from different communities, sectors and denominations, included a call for the return of the 59 remaining hostages in one release. But that doesn’t appear to be the proposal on the table, currently. We discuss reports out of Doha, which indicate a revision to a previously suggested proposal from US envoy Steve Witkoff of 10 living hostages for 60 days of ceasefire. What is the new outline to extend the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and how are Israel -- and Hamas -- responding to it? Mahmoud Abbas may be the last Palestinian leader who believes in a two-state solution and opposes violence as a means for bringing it about, a potential successor to the PA president, Jibril Rajoub, told Magid in a recent interview. So what’s the alternative? Please see today's ongoing liveblog for more updates. The breakthroughs we pray for and seek often come from spiritual victories. We may think the problems we face are political or social, but real change in those arenas can only come from God. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses breakthroughs and the barriers to them we perceive. He draws from the life of Joshua—and the miracle of Jericho's walls falling—to demonstrate how the opposition we face may seem insurmountable, but it must ultimately surrender to the power and will of God. Change is often required of us in order for the purposes of God to emerge in our lives, and Pastor Allen teaches how obedience is key to receiving His intervention and blessings. Are we ready to demonstrate the strength and courage required for the purposes of God to break forth in our lives and our generation? FAITH IS… with Pastor Rick Stevens – When an irresistible force meets an immovable object, contradictions arise. In the biblical encounters between King Nebuchadnezzar and the One True God, power and authority are tested. What happens when a faithful follower of Yahweh refuses to obey a king's command? This sets the stage for a powerful lesson in faith, obedience, and divine supremacy.

Today's promise: 1 Corinthians 15:58 God calls you to be steadfast and immovable in your faith. Every day, the world and the forces of darkness test your faith. God calls you to a firm and unchanging trust and faith in Him. To be steadfast is to be firm in your faith. Immovable is a defensive term. No matter what Satan throws at you, you will not be moved from your faith in Christ. Remember, God always empowers you to accomplish what He commands. You will abound in good works for the Lord as you remain firm in your faith.
