2 Samuel 22:18-25 (MSG) They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me.He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I cleaned up my act, he gave me a fresh start.Indeed, I've kept alert to God's ways; I haven't taken God for granted.Every day I review the ways he works, I try not to miss a trick.I feel put back together, and I'm watching my step.God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.
Exodus 32 ; Matthew 6:24 “...Who knows what's happened to him?” These were the questions and sayings of the Israelites when to them- Moses was taking forever to come down from the mountain, when he was on the mountain to pray for 40days and 40 nights. “..., they rallied around Aaron and said, “Do something. Make gods for us who will lead us. That Moses, the man who got us out of Egypt—who knows what's happened to him?”” Exodus 32:1 MSG They made a golden calf to lead them! Imagine! The Church can be likened to the historical Biblical Israelites. Although we do not make a molten golden calf and name it our ‘God's, there are things we do, objects we adore and position as our god, putting our hope in them. Jesus mentioned in Matthew 6:24 ““No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].” What stands as your golden calf? What stands as my golden calf? PP: I ask for mercy for us all, in any way we have grieved Your Spirit by harbouring a golden calf in our heart. Open our eyes Lord to see our faults and wash us clean with Your Word and with the blood of Jesus so that we will continue to truly serve you with all our heart, mind and body that Your name alone be glorified. In Jesus' name. Amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/abimbola-arawande/message
Saturday 23rd January 2021 A beautiful Saturday to you in the name of Jesus. We trust God, you are beginning to practice the spiritual disciplines. We've been talking about investing in our heavenly account and we're talking about the place of discipline, we have spoken about inward discipline and outward discipline, and today we will be discussing the corporate discipline. The corporate discipline are the disciplines that bring believers closer together in fellowship with one another and to God, it helps us develop a sense of community. Our Christian faith is about family, so it's about fellowship, is about living together with one another peacefully and we have four practices under this. The first one is Confession. Why do you make confession? It's important that we ae at peace with God and with one another and confessing our wrongs both to God and to one one another is one way to do that. James 5:16 (NLT) 16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. From this scripture, we can see the cleansing and healing power of confession. When we confess our sins to one another, it brings peace, wholeness and healing to our life. And in the next part of the verse says the earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power. Why? When there is no sin between us and no sin with God, it is easy for prayer to get answered. The second one is Worship and what do we mean by worship? In Acts of Apostles 2: 42-47 gives an idea of what makes up our worship. When we see what the apostles practiced in the early church, praying together, study together, communion, breaking bread, sharing together and doing ministry together all in submission to God, that's what worship is all about. That whole practice of devotion to God is what worship means. The next one is Guidance. Guidance can be from God and amongst ourselves. The Bible says in Proverb, “Iron sharpens iron.” There is guidance available when we are together fellowshipping in love, somebody is wiser and some insight, and somebody else doesn't have. We can lean on each other's strength so that we can become better. Always remember, there's guidance in community. And the final one is Celebration. The bible says in Acts 2:46 (MSG) They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful We can see how they practiced the daily discipline of worship in the temple, followed by meals at home, every meal was in an atmosphere of celebration and joy. They were a joyful people. There should be nothing like sad believers , in reality. Yes, we can have brief periods of sadness, but we should not always be sad as believers. God has done everything for us to live in joy. He wants us to live a life to be full of joy and full of celebration. So in conclusion, let us remember again Apostle Paul's admonition. 1 Timothy 4:15 (MSG) 15 Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! May God give us the grace to practice these things in Jesus name. God bless you. Enjoy your day.

#DaRundown Sports Podcast Ep. 16 Wudup doe! #DaRundown Sports is back after a lil spring break but now its back to work. There has been plenty going down since last we met. Couple weeks back I hooked up with Gee Steelio from Route4Sports.com on his show The Gee Steelio Sports Hour. This completes what the big homey Rich Eisen calls the "Home and home". New York Knicks at Atlanta HawksWe continue our discussion of the fight between the Hawks and Knicks for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. I can't lie as much as it would just be nice to say the Hawks are in the playoffs, give the star powered Knicks. Carmelo putting up 42 in a loss. JR Smith with a highlight dunk or two. Leave it to Gee, nothing related to the Knicks should succeed. Honestly, Atlanta how about a small chance at Jabari Parker? or Julius Randal? I mean even people inside of the Hawks organization don't really care if they make it. So why should you? Entertainment value is a must for me when watching sports. I'm hoping the Indiana Pacers win enough to get that #1 spot and see the Knicks get in to see them. Think about it. What if the Pacers drop one at home and one in MSG? They already imploding and you could have a meltdown on Broadway for all to see. By the way never a bad time to buss out some Reggie Miller and Spike Lee footage. johnny-manziel-nike-limited-pro-day-jersey Those are what I call "dreamlines" story lines that are dream scenarios to talk about. Which brings me to another one that Gee and I discussed. It involves Johnny Manziel getting drafted by the Cleveland Brown. The Browns refresh the franchise by changing their nickname, logo and everything else. Manziel gets out there with Josh Gordan and starts slinging it. Greg Cossell of NFL Films stated that his discipline from the pockets was very low. Summing up his point he counted high number plays that show Johnny Manziel' s first option at receiver was open and he tuck the ball and ran. Is that able to be coached? Who knows but for right now all I can do is hope that "Money Manziel" goes to an interesting team. I'm all about entertainment value

(Matthew 20:28) “…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."The title of my message today is: Be Gracious(Luke 6:45) “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”(Philippians 2:14) “Do everything without complaining or arguing,”(Proverbs 21:19) (NLT) “It's better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife.”(Philippians 2:1-4) “If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”Signs that we are gracious: 1. You give a good first impression(John 1:42) (MSG) “…..Jesus took one look up and said, "You're John's son, Simon? From now on your name is Cephas" (or Peter, which means "Rock").”(John 1:47) (MSG) “When Jesus saw him coming he said, "There's a real Israelite, not a false bone in his body."2. You give others another chance(2 Timothy 4:11) “Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.”3. You give respect to someone in front of others(2 Peter 3:15) “Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.”4. You give the truth at the right time(Proverbs 25:11) “The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry, And a wise friend's timely reprimand is like a gold ring slipped on your finger.”5. You give encouragement to the dream of others(1 Thessalonians 5:11) “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”6. You give the credit to others7. You give a secret from your heart(James 5:16) “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”8. You will be led by the Spirit more and more(Galatians 5:25) “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. In other words, I'm convinced that if we STAY IN STEP with Jesus, every now and then, He gives us the grace we need.” (Acts 2:41-42) (MSG) “That day about three thousand took him at his word, were baptized and were signed up. They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers.(Acts 2:43-45) (MSG) “Everyone around was in awe—all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person's need was met.” (Acts 2:46-47) (MSG) “They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.”
