We want to recognize people in the marketing field that are doing their thing. We want to highlight the people making an impact and creating on the highest level. No Black TikTokers at The Top (12:36)In the recent Forbe's List of Top-Earning TikTok-ers 2022, BET pointed out that there were no black content creators on the list. This made Michelle wonder what is wrong with the cash pipeline feeding into these platforms? Especially when the numbers of followers and views are similar. If you feel like you or someone you know qualifies to be on this list, please submit so you can have the chance to be recognized. Top Black Marketers Submissions - https://bit.ly/AAMALISTBuild an Audience So You Can Sell It (32:12)We wrap the podcast by looking into an emerging trend: Media companies and big brands buying other media and production companies. With the utmost confidence in their business model, audience acquisition is one of the most lucrative investments into growing your customer base. As brands are getting more thoughtful about their advertising budget and customer acquisition cost, more of them are starting to build an audience. Still, the ones with the most cash to burn are buying entire audiences to add to their ecosphere. The question is can you build an audience for purchase? Do you have a blog, YouTube Channel, podcast, social media presence built around a brand that a more prominent brand could purchase? You might already be doing it. It could be your most valuable asset, and you don't even know it. Thanks for listening! We would love your feedback on the show. We are ramping up production and this week we have another episode. This week we are importing a podcast from another feed. I recently did an away game with the homey Mickell Ford on his Podcast I Watched This As An Adult. It’s a podcast that takes on the duties of watching movies from the past that you were probably fond of but with a fresh set of eyes and cinematic standards. In this particular episode, we review ‘Romeo Must Die’ staring Aaliyah, Jet Li and somehow DMX makes it on the poster as well. It had been at least 15 years since I had watched the movie. I thought I was going to be thrilled to get nostalgic about my days but in fact, when we break down the film, we discussed some of the problematic things in the film that was much more prevalent in 2000. This also gave me an excuse to bust out my DMX impression. I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to but I was completely captivated by Aaliyah’s performance. If you are a fan of hers it’s a must-watch but everyone else could probably live without it. Thanks for listening!

Since then we have had Kobe and LeBron be considered in the conversations but never over Jordan. This documentary although it is more of Michael Jordan's memoirs and less hard-hitting investigational journalism, the documentary does a great job of setting the tone of how much far and ahead of the game he was and the mastery of the sport made by far the greatest basketball player many had ever seen. Game 2 was another close game and Warriors pulled out another one out their you know what. At halftime it look like the Toronto could move forward with a win but the Raptors let the “Third Quarter Warriors” come alive by letting them score 18 straight points. Add that to the fact no one was able to hit open shots and it looks like going to Oakland will be even more up hill. Mikael and I also appreciate the Warriors and what they have meant to NBA fandom. They are hard to stop and we have connection to one of the Warriors from Saginaw, Michigan. We wrap up with a bonus conversations about why Mikael thinks LeBron James is a bad teammate. He has some severe drawbacks as the focal point of the team. I’m not in 100% agreeance but I entertain some the points he was making. Thanks for listening!

This week on the podcast I have my good friend Jez come on the podcast to help rundown so topics. It has been almost a month since the last podcast, so I decided to cram in as many topics as possible into one episode. We begin by talking to Jez in a cold open about his adjustment from Atlanta to D.C. Then we go into LeBron and the bubbling narrative that is trying to give Kevin Durant the crown this year. (13:20) We keep sports going and transition into Rob Gronkowski retiring from the NFL and the mark he left on the game for fans like us (25:30) The main topic for this episode is the cost of attention. We group the Jussie Smollett story (31:00) with the Kodak Black need to say outlandish things (34:50) because both of these individuals have behavior that stems from the need of attention. It seems that the art isn't carrying them where they want and have chosen other avenues to boost their profile. On the other end of the spectrum, Cardi B is getting unwanted attention for some comments she made before she came up. (42:18) She stated she used sex to lure men into a setup where they would get drugged and robbed by Cardi. People have been comparing her to Bill Cosby and R. Kelly but that may be a bit much. We explore a few different angles. We close the podcast with the college admissions scandal and some different aspects of snitching. Mainly because the key cooperator was black Yale soccer coach that tried to get $450,000 from a father. Thanks for listening!

Welcome back #DaRundown South Podcast. This week we are joined by Keith Nelson Jr. once again to break down some big-picture topics. 04:13 Nicki Minaj Missteps Darling Nicki, where are we today? Nicki Minaj has been the face of female Hip-Hop for the 10 years or so. Her new album, Queen, drops in the shadow of the recently minted Cardi B. With sales that are pretty good for most, do not live up to the Barbie's standard. Add that to low ticket sales of a"postponed" North American tour and we could be seeing someone who's very frustrated with the new streaming era metrics. It's not a stretch to say she is taking her frustration out on Travis Scott and his family. Kylie Jenner seemed nothing more than show some support to her massive following of zombies. Using paper thin arguments on Twitter and Queen Radio Minaj is showing some real insecurity about her position in the game today. It could be some karma get back for not wanting to support the elevation of other female artists. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/la-et-ms-nicki-minaj-queen-album-tour-20180824-story.html 29:21 The Hip-Hop Union Party Is Hip-Hop big enough to start a union? Busta Rhymes seems to think so. A subject Keith Nelson Jr. recently brought up to the legendary rapper in a recent interview.  The socialist idea of having a collectively bargained salary http://hiphop-n-more.com/2018/07/exclusive-busta-rhymes-new-album-done-hip-hop-should-form-union/ 52:23 S#!t That I Missed: Tru Life  signs with Future's Freebandz Tru Life is a rapper from yesteryear and used to be signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella imprint. He may be more infamous for his beef but being good enough to sign before. Now he is made post-prison stint to sign with Future's Freebandz label. It's a footnote amongst the trending topics of September 2017  In other day and times this would have been a story that would have taken some time to investigate the long-term play and possibility of starting a trend. None of these were explored by major outlets which may be a result of a lack in present-day lexicon or it could be the victim of the Twitter/social media tail eating news stream that deals much more commerce than journalism.

I discuss what home team Falcons have done so far and why Browns are a startup company. Then I jump into Future two new albums Future and HNDRXX which could be related to the lawsuit he currently has with Rocko and A-1 Records. I wrap by talking about my favorite person right now Lavar Ball. The father of the Ball boys who started his own brand for them and has taking quite the backlash for having the nerve to own his own name. As you can see I'm on Ball's side of things. Wudup Doe? Its been a while, but we back. This week cousin of the show Keith Nelson Jr. is back on to talk about the happenings in Hip-Hop. Most notably Remy Ma's release of the song ShEther, Drake playing to the crowd, and Just Blaze and Swizz Beatz had a battle live on Instagram. Remy Ma put in some work on Nicki Minaj. The 6+ Minute song had more diss lines per minute than any other song since Game's 300 Bars. Now the background of why Remy dissed Minaj in the first place is in question but does it really matter? Pure Hip-Hop heads are rejoicing at some real competition that taking place among some frontline talent. Is Drake the new OJ or is he a real chameleon? We have evidence that when Drake is feeling slighted about being nominated for Hip-Hop Grammys. Is that where he feels racism exist? Short answer? Maybe. Just Blaze and Swizz Beats had a battle. Live. On Instagram. Swizz Beatz plays an unreleased song featuring Jadakiss, DMX and Jay-Z. 2017 thank you. The world needs this. Not just the Hip-Hop community, the world Craig.

Wudup Doe! This week on #DaRundown South Podcast, we talk about the Atlanta Falcons making the Super Bowl to take on the New England Patriots. This year the big game is in Houston. This means a lot of traffic will be coming from our hometown of Atlanta to Houston. What do those two cities have in common? You know...strip clubs. We discussed the implications of that fact. Then we go into who should do the anthem for Atlanta's Super Bowl. Future? Migos? Ludacris? Jeezy? Maybe T.I. Either way we need one. We wrap by talking about Chance The Rapper dropping the news that the Grammy's will be featuring SoundCloud projects for considerations. We try dig to what this mean to the Hip-Hop category which has historically been fumbled. Thanks for listening!

Wudup Doe!? This week on the podcast we talk a lot of Atlanta Falcons because Sunday there is one last game in the Georgia Dome. It's probably the most meaningful game at the soon to be demolished building. There was an NFC Championship game in 2014 where the Atlanta Falcons gave up a 14 point lead to the then unstoppable, pre-"Freedom Fro" Colin Capernick. Only this time it't the actually unstoppable Aaron Rodgers that's in town with 52 cheesy challengers. So could you see why some of the die hard fans don't believe. I also had a lot of questions on how we got here in the first place so I called up friend of the podcast Aaron Freeman of FalcFans and the Locked On Falcons podcast, to figure out what's changed with the Dirty Birds and why they won't go back to who they were. Thanks for listening!

The Dallas Cowboys have a decision to make in whether to keep Dak Presscott starting or go back to Tony Romo. I understand there is momentum to protect. It seems that the media and the fans believe more in the narrative of Tony Romo being a screw up or someone who can't win when it counts instead of what he is. Which is he is a to 10 quarterback in the league. Sometimes you have to look at the stats and look at the sum parts. Dak isn't ask to do a whole lot and it's working. With Romo being out a few more weeks, the decision for the Dallas Cowboys will be even harder. Russell Crowe tosses Azealia Banks out of his dinner party. Banks was the plus one of RZA and from sounds of it, she didn't fit the crowd. As you can imagine both parties have completely different stories. Crowe's people are saying that Azealia criticized the music selection by calling them "boring old white men" Apparently Russell didn't like it and yolked her ass out the party. Banks on the other hand say something a little different. According to a TMZ interview, she was choked, spit on, called the N word, and RZA did nothing. She fired all kind of shots. Who do you believe? I can't wait for the entire truth to come out.

The Game vs. Meek Mill (14:05) It seems like Meek Mill keeps walking into L’s. The latest coming at the hand The Game. Within a week Game dropped 92 Bars an bagged that up with Pest Control. To make it something serious the Game dedicated an entire visual experience for Pest Control. Even with Meek Mill’s OOOUU Remix it’s like nothing he is doing can seem to connect in anyway shape or form. As Keith said he is a “millennial gangsta rapper” and does things about the money. Chance The Rapper’s Independence (32:28) Chance has shown that his moves are about Chance. He drops an album excursively on Apple and then follows that up with the live stream of the Magnificent Coloring Day on Tidal. Chance is doing some things that haven’t been seen on an independent level in the streaming era. With Drake getting a billion streams on Apple, we could possibly see Chance go a more profitable route at the end of the day. It’s all about progression in the music. We compared the progressions of Drake, Jeezy, and T. I. FX’s Atlanta (58:45) When it comes to TV shows, I’m very selective. When it comes to TV shows set in Atlanta, my expectations couldn’t be in any lower. So when FX decided that they were green lighting the Donald Glover’s ‘Atlanta‘ set in the ATL, I sighed but was optimistic. I’m so glad I gave it a shot. This could be possibly the best show since Mr. Robot. We check in on the first season so far. Thanks again for listening to the show!
