It was LOI Central Live, and the entirety of Monday's gathering in Rascals Brewing was exclusive only to those who joined us for the tantalising combination of pizza, beer and League of Ireland related musings. The league's top scorer Padraig Amond defied expectations to join Johnny Dunleavy on stage for a chat that was part reflection of the season, part Ollie Horgan memories and part their respective relationships with FAI Cup finalists Cork City and Shamrock Rovers. Not all of it made it past the editorial powers that be but there's enough to get a flavour of the conversation. Johnny and Dan reflect on the season that was with a heavy trace of disappointment around Dublin 8 while we also catch up with some of the news around the last 24 hours as silly season gets underway with a LinkedIn post for the ages. All of this couldn't be possible without our Brotherhood of Belief - Rascals Brewing, Sport Cosanta, Future Ticketing and Collar & Cuff
Eoin Sheahan is joined by Galway United manager John Caulfield this evening, who reminisces on memories of the late Ollie Horgan, as well as talks about the growth of the League of IrelandFootball on Off The Ball with William Hill
4 games, 3 authors, 2 Rovers podcasts and 1 point still needed. We talk Prague, Kerry, Shels and Pat's during our hiatus as well as Pico making it to the World Cup. Things get super spooky wooky ahead of Halloween with Rovers fan and horror writer Seán O'Connor, and then emotional as Bartley Ramsay and Gary Ferry remember Ollie Horgan and Mark Farren through their own Finn Harps and Derry City books. Slovenian football journalist Jakob Batic returns to warn us that Celje are much better this time around.
Stevo is joined as usual by Vinny Perth and Gareth McGlynn for this week's LOI Pod, where they trade memories of the late Ollie Horgan, discuss Shels and Rovers' European runs, and much more! The League of Ireland Pod on Off The Ball with Rockshore 0.0

After being postponed last week following the sad passing of recent assistant manager Ollie Horgan, Galway United return to SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division action on Sunday (7th September 2025) when they travel to defending champions Shelbourne. United are currently in eighth place on 30 points, level with Sligo Rovers, with only goal difference separating the Tribesmen from the relegation play-off spot. They are also without a victory in eight league games. But they are unbeaten in their last four games against the Dublin-based team, even if the previous three have finished in draws. United's last competitive win away to Shelbourne was in October 2014 when goals from Ryan Connolly and Jake Keegan gave them a 2-1 victory in a promotion play-off. Former St. Patrick's Athletic and Dundalk manager Jon Daly became Galway United's new assistant manager last mont,h and he looked forward to the game with Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly. == Kick-off at Tolka Park on Sunday is 5pm, and we'll have full coverage on our website galwaybayfm.ie.
It was a week of mixed emotions for everyone involved in Irish football with news of Ollie Horgan's final farewell coming through ahead of a historic ‘going electric' night on the pitch for Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne. We try and cover both bases here with Dave Webster joining to offer his reflections on the joy of working with the late, great Galwegian with Ollie also coming up in the course of Johnny's chat with Stephen Bradley about another landmark achievement for the Hoops. In addition to that, there's saunas in Saints territory, the perils of football addiction, Celje throwbacks, and a come and get me plea to Dubai property buyers. All of this above board fun is brought to you in association with Future Ticketing, Collar & Cuff, Sport Cosanta & Rascals Brewing. Safe travels Mister Horgan.

In a week of reunions this is really the one you've been waiting for. A surprisingly energised Dan returns to clean up after Johnny's ‘you let Dougal do a funeral' interim stint in charge. Amid the wreckage, we lament Northern accents, misinformed ministers, analogue opinions, and Larne before Dan tries to bury some inaccuracies in the interminable TV and standards debates. In our Galway United segment, Johnny gets hold of Ollie Horgan to discuss their top four chances amongst other things and with the financial fair play committee still looking at Collar & Cuff, Lily's Childcare, Rascal's Brewery and Future Ticketing as we approach episode 300, we ask why oh why should football be still dealing deals like its 1981. Yes folks, it's episode 30, it's 90 mins, it's early so just Roll with It!

Dan is back, although he's been outdone by producer Derek on the travel front as we attempt to sprint through the events of another manic week but find the path blocked by some substantial news hurdles. What does Jon Daly's departure say about St Patrick's Athletic? How will Stephen O'Donnell function as Alan Reynolds assistant? Is it 'Noel King's Dundalk' yet? We also have Johnny's chat with Ollie Horgan after a big win at Bohemians, with an unexpected Lionel Richie cameo. Beyond that, we have a packed mailbag with all the usual spin-offs. There's the great Stephen Walsh goalscoring debate, an irrational attack on GAA intercounty 'stars', relegation predictions without the predictions and much more. So with thanks to Rascals Brewery, Collar & Cuff, Future Ticketing and Lily's Childcare, the time has come, to raise the roof and have some fun, let the podcast play on, play on, play on.
