In a week of reunions this is really the one you've been waiting for. A surprisingly energised Dan returns to clean up after Johnny's ‘you let Dougal do a funeral' interim stint in charge. Amid the wreckage, we lament Northern accents, misinformed ministers, analogue opinions, and Larne before Dan tries to bury some inaccuracies in the interminable TV and standards debates. In our Galway United segment, Johnny gets hold of Ollie Horgan to discuss their top four chances amongst other things and with the financial fair play committee still looking at Collar & Cuff, Lily's Childcare, Rascal's Brewery and Future Ticketing as we approach episode 300, we ask why oh why should football be still dealing deals like its 1981. Yes folks, it's episode 30, it's 90 mins, it's early so just Roll with It!

Dan is back, although he's been outdone by producer Derek on the travel front as we attempt to sprint through the events of another manic week but find the path blocked by some substantial news hurdles. What does Jon Daly's departure say about St Patrick's Athletic? How will Stephen O'Donnell function as Alan Reynolds assistant? Is it 'Noel King's Dundalk' yet? We also have Johnny's chat with Ollie Horgan after a big win at Bohemians, with an unexpected Lionel Richie cameo. Beyond that, we have a packed mailbag with all the usual spin-offs. There's the great Stephen Walsh goalscoring debate, an irrational attack on GAA intercounty 'stars', relegation predictions without the predictions and much more. So with thanks to Rascals Brewery, Collar & Cuff, Future Ticketing and Lily's Childcare, the time has come, to raise the roof and have some fun, let the podcast play on, play on, play on.

What a busy week in the League of Ireland! - Derry City win the FAI Cup - Shelbourne and Southampton to team up? - What now for Finn Harps and Ollie Horgan? - Minimum wage in the LOI - Did Stephen Kenny miss a trick with his latest Irish Squad?
It's the second to second last episode of the pod and cup final fever is intertwined with Johnny's playoff sickness in a colourful episode. Our roving Galway reporter took a break from venting his frustration to make the unfamiliar trip to the Aviva Stadium where he interviews Ruaidhri Higgins without impersonating him and finally gets up close and personal with his old mate Damien Duff, who is in reflective mood and content to let sleeping giants lie. We also hear from Luke Byrne and Brandon Kavanagh for a player perspective on Sunday's showpiece, while Dan expands on the new minimum wage, Shels investment and the other big stories of the week in a packed mailbag. In this exciting time for fans of big events, we also talk Dylan (McGlade), (Joe) Kendrick Lamar tickets, and muse over what the Finn Harps show will be like without Ollie Horgan. All this because Future Ticketing, Porterhouse Brewery and Collar and Cuff have stuck with us through thick and thicker. It's not dark yet....but it's getting there!

On this week's bumper Summer Special Shane Keegan and Neal Horgan have an extended chat about the rise and fall of two of the league's most famous clubs, Cork and Dundalk. In a week where pints on the side of the road are back, Ollie Horgan talks points on the road with a zoological Dan Mc Donnell. The return of Vinny Perth to Oriel, European ties, cheap flights to Bratislava, our best wishes to Christian Eriksen and we never find out why Johnny was at the Four Courts. All this and a Four Star Pizza quiz in our best value episode to date!
In this episode we are joined by El Paso Locomotive's Irish defender Niall Logue. We talk about life in El Paso, Niall's time in US College football and what it's like to play under Ollie Horgan at Finn Harps!
This week on the show we revisit the ongoing troubles at Dundalk FC with their former goalkeeper Gary Rogers while Ollie Horgan pops in to talk about his high flying Harps side ahead of yet another north west derby against table toppers Sligo Rovers this weekend. First though former favourite at the Showgrounds, Alan Keane has to try and hide the smile as he chats about Sligo Rover's (0:15) return to the summit of Irish football with a hard fought 1-0 victory against Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght on Monday. Alan and Breifne look back over the action from both divisions of the SSE Airtricity League this weekend with a double round of fixtures in the top flight (1:32). Top of the discussion was Shamrock Rovers losing their unbeaten record in Oriel Park on Friday, Dundalk themselves being haunted by former striker Georgie Kelly's hat-trick in Dalymount on Monday and Finn Harps late turn around to bring all three points back from Waterford. Former Dundalk & Sligo netminder Gary Rogers (15:57) tells us all about his retirement, his new scouting role and the developments that led to his decision to hang up the boots at the end of last season. He discusses the souring of the high performance environment at Oriel Park in recent times, how there was no firm offer to stay at Oriel Park in a coaching capacity and the opportunity to depart the game on his terms, at a high point with FAI Cup success and Premier League opposition in the Europa League. Despite a ridiculous schedule of a Monday night trip to Waterford, teaching on Tuesday and training again on Tuesday evening, Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan (34:39) drops in to the show to share his thoughts on the impressive season so far for the Donegal side. He discusses the improved performances from his squad and some big milestones including the club's first victory in the Brandywell over near neighbours Derry City. Alan (50:41) also takes a look through the full set of fixtures set for this weekend's final round before the Mid Season break next week.
Ahead of Dundalk's first home league match of the season against Finn Harps on Friday night, we caught up with the Donegal side's defender Stephen Folan. In an open and honest interview the defender discussed working under both Ollie Horgan and Shane Keegan, the tragedy which occurred in his life which impacted his two year spell at Oriel Park in 2018 and 2019 and the difficulty in securing a mortgage as a footballer. All that and more in this special episode.

The west's certainly awake on this week's episode with two Galway natives on the show in the form of Finn Harps' Stephen Folan and Sligo Rovers assistant manager John Russell joining co-hosts Dean Zambra and Breifne Earley ahead of the 2021 League of Ireland season. Longford Town captain Dean Zambra talks through some of the pre-season action over last weekend with a focus on the buildup to the season for his own club as they return to the Premier Division after a three year stay in the second tier of the league. He chats about Longford's defeat to full time Galway United last weekend and the impact of players like Dean Byrne after he manufactured a late goal for De Town in their latest warm up game. Stephen Folan joins Dean and Breifne to discuss his return from Australia after his adventure down under was shortened considerably when the league ran into issues with Covid and was cancelled. Ollie Horgan offered him the opportunity to return home to the top flight here and he's been enjoying his time at Finn Park with Harps. Sligo's No. 2 John Russell sat down for a chat with Breifne to discuss the arrival of European football back to the Showgrounds after a 6 year absence of continental football in Yeat's county. He spoke about the issues with their foreign players dealing with quarantine restrictions, some injury concerns and their improved recruitment. Russell discusses the new arrivals of Shane Blaney, Greg Bolger and Robbie McCourt as well as the return of Romeo Parkes and the emergence of Johnny Kenny as a goal poacher through pre-season.

In place of an absent Paddy Kavanagh, and in these times of religious tumult we present one Darragh Markey who has embodied the struggles of his native land as he describes his odyssey from the consecrated halls of the seminary in Maynooth to the beckoning lupine financial jungles via a sporting detour in Inchicore. Is this the man 'who’s dark hair would weave a snare that Johnny might one day rue’? The 'Wolf of Thomas Davis Street' talks with our Haribo divided hosts about fixture congestion and repeat exams, Cork City, European disappointments and the FAI Cup. From the stoney grey soil of Donegal we have a decidedly rustic phone connection to Ollie Horgan for a chat as optimistic as dry black bread and sugarless tea. After the foreplay of pre-season, the Airtricity League season 2016 finally kicked off on Friday and with it came a few surprises, plenty of goals, and even more cards. This week's Extratime.ie Sportscast features three managers who had varied experiences on the opening weekend. Wexford Youth's Shane Keegan lead his team into their first Premier Division game but in front of almost 1,000 fans at Ferrycarrig Park, his side lost out by two goals to nil to Longford Town. He talks to Gareth O'Reilly and Josh Dolan about the game and his move to being a full time manager with the club. Last season on the Sportscast Ollie Horgan predicted his club wouldn't be promoted. They subsequently were promoted. This year, after an opening day victory over local rivals Derry City, he remains consistent as he ponders whether his side will avoid the drop in their first season back in the top flight. Our final guest is Tommy Dunne fresh from one of the big surprises of the weekend – Galway United's 3-1 win over St. Pats in Inchicore. He talks about the upcoming season and masterminding the win over the Saints. This interview was conducted by Extratime.ie reporter Aaron Clarke. Support the show (https://ko-fi.com/X8X6D5R1)
