Martin and Conor chat about the Irish boss' recruits, Stephen Bradley and June Internationals, Nathan Collins' MOTM display against Forest and of course the Irish involved in this weekend's Relegation and Play-Off battles in the EFL.
The picks are in! Brandt Snedeker and Geoff Ogilvy will lead Team USA and the Internationals at the 2026 Presidents Cup. Damon and Eamon chat with both of the newly-minted captains as they begin their preparations for Medinah in earnest. The guys also call together an emergency session of the Golf Today Roundtable to discuss the big news with Golf Channel's Rex Hoggard and Shane Ryan from Golf Digest. Meanwhile, down at TPC Craig Ranch, Jordan Cornette was on the grounds of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson to gauge PGA TOUR pro reactions to the next round of captains in the much sought-after team competition. Hear what Presidents Cup stalwarts Zach Johnson and Tom Kim had to say! Brandt Snedeker (2:33) Geoff Ogilvy (16:23)

I met Edward Rinehart at my Rotary Club, where he was sharing his journey with DECA - Distributive Education Clubs of America - an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through educational programs and competitions. Colorado had 9,000 participants in DECA programs in 2024, with the top competitors advancing through District Competitions to State and International. Edward has been involved in DECA all four years of his high school journey, made it all the way to International his Freshman year, and has served on the Leadership Team ever since. He won the State Competition in Entrepreneurship this February - and we're wishing him luck at Internationals in May! This is a different journey than most of our LoCo Experience episodes - just getting started. But I learned a lot, and enjoyed a wonderful conversation - and you will too! So especially if you've got kiddos still in school, or grandkids going to high school soon - or if you might want to be a volunteer judge for the District or State competitions - I hope you'll tune in and enjoy my conversation with Edward Rinehart. Austrians are generally practical people and live lives filled with things that make their lives practical. Jake lists off what you need to live the practical Austrian life PLUS he reads a never released before chapter that was supposed to make it into Schau ma mal, the book, but didn't. It's a chapter all about how Austrians love their nature and forests so much that sometimes they get a little too friendly with their trees and drink the blood of their trees aka. zirbenschnapps. This week the panel (and their producer) are bitterly divided on the contentious issue of the Nations League and its value compared to the old Home Internationals when England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland played with themselves. One side sees a desperation of the television companies and UEFA to ensure that no summer passes without an international tournament, leading to player burnout and spectator indifference. The other side sees a sensible arrangement that abolishes pointless friendlies, gives every match a purpose and ensures that the weaker sides play each other and are not just cannon fodder for the big boys. Fortunately, remote recording ensures that violence amongst members of the panel, though seemingly imminent, never requires police intervention. Learn more about your ad choices. David Wright Faladé didn't learn the truth about his lineage until he was 16. That's when his mother told him that his biological father was a West African student she initially met in post-war Paris, as she grappled with the trauma of her Jewish family surviving the Holocaust. It was a shock to a mixed-race boy growing up in the panhandle of Texas, playing football and drinking Slurpee's in 1970s America. But the surprises didn't stop there. When Wright Faladé eventually moved to France and met his father, he discovered a connection to Dahomey royalty and a past complicated by the slave trade and colonialism. From 2022 David Wright Faladé on the all-Black brigade that inspired his new historical novel This made-for-TV personal history inspired his new novel, “The New Internationals,” which details the love triangle formed by a Holocaust survivor, a Sorbonne student from colonial West Africa and a Black GI from America. This week, he joined Kerri Miller on Big Books and Bold Ideas to share even more of his family's history and discuss how the potent mix of grief, guilt and hope found in post-war Europe created the world as we know it today. Guest: David Wright Faladé is a professor in the MFA program at the University of Illinois and the author of several books, including “Black Cloud Rising.” His just-released novel is “The New Internationals.”Subscribe to Big Books and Bold Ideas with Kerri Miller podcast on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, RSS or anywhere you get your podcasts.Subscribe to the Thread newsletter for the latest book and author news and must-read recommendations.

Aye after a short but some might say blessed period where their editor lost his hearing and everyone lost their shit (it was peaceful my end at least) the lads returned to talk about how much they hate these breaks, before sort of contradicting themselves a bit whilst trying to look back on the last few fixtures with a little bit of perspective and of course ahead to December. What's the crack? Club before country - Have we mentioned how much we hate not just international breaks, but international fixtures? Aye that hasn't changed at all. Safe to say reaction not just to Coventry, which the lads discuss a fair bit here, but just to the last few draws has cast a bit of a shadow on our achievements so far; Are Gav and Chris as concerned? Does this say more about the rising expectations that come with our position in the league? The Coventry draw was definitely a situation where two points were lost, but is it a sign of anything significant besides just being a bit too relaxed coming back out and a few slices of luck for them in that second half? Injuries - Apparently Romaine Mundle is looking at a while out and Browne won't be available for a little while either so which players would be looking to take advantage of this? Ahead of Millwall and the puzzle presented to Regis Le Bris given Jobe Bellingham, Trai Hume and Patrick Roberts are suspended.. what are we expecting Regis to do? Will he actually look at a different formation and setup? Would he consider a switch to three at the back? Luckily it's not up to us like…All this and more! Ha'way the Lads! #SAFC #EFL #EFLChampionship Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Hello Rank Squad! With the final international break of the calendar year now in motion, we thought it would be a good time to take stock of what's happened so far in European club football and rank the clubs who have impressed most over the start to this season. Jack's taken out any clubs he feels are underperforming expectations to narrow the field, and then ordered the seven he feels have started the strongest to give us a ranking based on what we've seen on the pitch. There's entries from all across Europe's Big Seven leagues, with some league leaders matched up with some drastic overperformers as well - so this really is one that should stir up some debate. Let us know who your picks would have been across our socials! Before that, there's some time for Things We Love, which this week digs into the MLS postseason and the rise of the underdog in the Eastern Conference, as well as Fiorentina's flying form and the resurgence of Moise Kean as a bona fide star. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

The lads give their thoughts on Gregor's tactics, Scotland's new captain Sione Tuipulotu, and predict the outcome of both big games. Learn more about your ad choices. Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for Saturday morning four-ball picks at the Presidents Cup! For more on the world of golf, follow Doc on X @drmedai59 In this episode of the Golf Preview Podcast on Pregame's Network, host Will Docter delves into Friday's disappointing results during the 15th Presidents Cup, providing in-depth analysis, player statistics, and insights into team performances. Below is a breakdown of the key moments: Friday's Recap & Player Analysis: [Will Docter] (0:39 - 13:30) Will discusses the complete turnaround from Thursday's domination by Team USA to Friday's losses in the foursome sessions. Below are detailed match analyses: Match 6: Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im vs. Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele Matsuyama and Im stunned Cantlay and Schauffele with seven consecutive birdies, finishing 7 and 6. The Japanese-Korean duo, ranked low in strokes gained on Day 1, were in top five by the end of Friday. Key Quote: "Seven straight birdies is flat-out impressive stuff in any format" (0:47). Analysis: Matsuyama and Im displayed exceptional form, outperforming Cantlay and Schauffele in every aspect, particularly in putting. Match 7: Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith vs. Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa Pendrith continued his solid performance, paired with Scott who had a fantastic day on the greens. Theegala struggled, having the second-worst day on the course. Analysis: Theegala's weak putting, combined with Morikawa's subpar form, left them outmatched despite Morikawa's solid ball striking. Match 8: Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Jason Day vs. Max Homa and Brian Harman Homa had a strong day with his driving, but Harman's poor showing left the pair vulnerable. Team USA Analysis: Homa and Harman couldn't recover, losing 1-up in a closely contested match. Day and Bezuidenhout capitalized on their putting despite not playing their best. Match 9: Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes vs. Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau The Canadians made seven birdies, ending the match on 13, while Clark and Finau could not make their putts. Key Stat: Both Finau and Clark had negative strokes gained with their irons. Analysis: The home crowd support for Conners and Hughes gave them a needed boost as Team USA faltered. Match 10: Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An vs. Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley Si Woo Kim excelled with birdies on 12, 13, and 15, and a clutch par putt to close the match. Scheffler admitted that Henley rolled the ball well but couldn't capitalize on his chances. Analysis: Si Woo's ability to thrive in high-pressure situations made the difference, showcasing his incredible match-play abilities. Saturday Picks & Predictions: [Will Docter] (13:30 - 17:00) Match 11: Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa vs. Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith Favorite: Scheffler and Morikawa (-205). Prediction: Despite Morikawa's shaky putting, Will leans toward Team USA based on Scheffler's solid ball striking and world number one ranking. Match 12: Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele vs. Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes Underdog: Conners and Hughes (+141). Prediction: Will favors the Canadians, citing their recent form and Finau's ongoing struggles with the greens. Match 13: Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim vs. Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark Favorite: Si Woo and Tom Kim (-117). Prediction: Will is confident in the chemistry between the Kims, emphasizing Si Woo's clutch performance on Friday. Match 14: Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns vs. Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im Even Money: Will predicts the Internationals will continue their momentum, doubting Cantlay and Burns' ability to perform under pressure. Closing Remarks: [Will Docter] (17:00 - End) Will concludes by discussing his plan for Saturday's afternoon session, hinting at potential picks for Sunday singles based on Saturday's results. It's the first true offseason episode of 2024 and nearly all attention has turned to the upcoming Presidents Cup. Andy and Brendan begin this episode with a Victory Tuesday celebration for Brendan's Boston College Eagles after a Top 10* road win at Florida State on Monday night to open the season. They then discuss the breaking news of the day, captain's picks for the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal. Mike Weir decided to go heavy on the Canadians, selecting Taylor Pendrith, Corey Conners, and surprisingly Mackenzie Hughes in addition to Min Woo Lee, Si Woo Kim, and Christiaan Bezuidenhout. More qualms were had with Jim Furyk's picks for the American side, leaving Akshay Bhatia, Billy Horschel and Justin Thomas behind for Brian Harman, Max Homa, and vice captain Keegan Bradley, among others. Producer PJ comes on to defend his fellow Gen Z-er Akshay, and Andy shares a possible conspiracy theory regarding one selection for the U.S. After a walk through the history of Expos first basemen, the two then discuss the two events on TV this week, the Champs Tour stop in St. Louis and the Omega European Masters in Switzerland. One-and-done picks for the Champions Tour are made and Brendan shares two new facts about Frugal Fritelli, perhaps the best ones yet. To wrap things up, it's a quick NFL roundup before the season kicks off on Thursday night.
