Send us your questions and thoughts by text!! Leave your name in the text!Hello and welcome to the Late Kick Off Football Podcast episode 187! It's a packed festive edition as the panel works through a busy weekend of football across Scotland and England. We begin north of the border with derby drama as Dunfermline leave Stark's Park with a 2-1 win over Raith Rovers, before Dundee United and Aberdeen share the points at Tannadice. From there, we segue into Moment of the Week, where we get on board again with the Dominic Calvert-Lewin runaway train (05:10), and David Raya making a stunning save to keep Arsenal in front against Brighton (07:15).Our first Premier League marquee matchup takes us to Selhurst Park, where a depleted Crystal Palace host Tottenham (09:30) and get emptied. We stay in London for late-Saturday drama at Stamford Bridge. Aston Villa come from behind to beat Chelsea 2–1, with Ollie Watkins once again haunting the Blues and Unai Emery's side matching a club-record winning run (18:50). It's then a capital hat-trick as we head to Brentford, where Kevin Schade's treble fires the Bees to a dominant 4–1 win over Bournemouth and into the top half of the table (31:40).We round things off with Two Things We Learned, Florian Wirtz finally opening his Premier League account for Liverpool (41:30), West Ham's growing relegation fears (42:35), Manchester City's latest creative force (49:35), and Ruben Amorim's puzzling tactical shift at Old Trafford (50:30).Finally, reluctantly, we acknowledge the Bin Juice Game of the Week – a truly grim goalless draw between Burnley and Everton (52:25), so much so that David Moyes didn't even attempt to sugar coat it.All reviews, likes, shares and of course listens are hugely appreciated! Matchday 17 was a weekend which started off with draws and then became a series of one-way results, some in emphatic fashion. Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) and Román De Arquer (@Aeroslavee) review it all.We start with the on-paper partidazo between Villarreal and Barcelona, which was unfortunately conditioned by a first half red card. The visitors won comfortably in the end to become Christmas number one, keeping Real Madrid four points back. Los Blancos had their own 2-0 victory on Saturday night against Sevilla, but left more doubts once again. The only real bright sparks were the form of Thibaut Courtois and Kylian Mbappé, who equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's club record for goals in a calendar year.Atleti won convincingly on the road to leave Girona in the danger zone, while Betis put four past Getafe to apply some pressure on Espanyol. In Part Two we discuss Elche returning to their best form and our concern for Rayo, who might be taking their eye off the ball domestically. The managerless sides played out a 1-1 draw, but Real Sociedad will really feel that it was two points dropped. Both clubs confirmed the appointments of their new coaches, so we evaluate their potential chances. Guillermo Almada has already begun life at Oviedo, but could not prevent the inevitable stalemate. We end by picking our moments of the year and wishing our listeners and subscribers at lllonline.substack.com a happy festive season. ¡¡Feliz Navidad!! Hosted on Acast. The Conference League league phase concluded with a bang Thursday night, and we're breaking down every game! Universitatea Craiova was the day's top story for all the wrong reasons. We discuss the series of unfortunate events that led to their heartbreaking elimination, including the Romanians blowing a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 in Athens, a stoppage time Zrinjski Mostar equalizer, a late Sigma goal, and of course, KuPS' dramatic draw at Selhurst Park. That's right, little old KuPS took it to the South Londoners for a period in the second half to dramatically qualify for the knockouts and force Crystal Palace out of the Top 8 and thus the Round of 16 bye. We give our thoughts on how the Finns accomplished such a feat and debate how serious the setback is for Palace. Meanwhile, there was plenty of other Top 8 drama throughout the continent. Mainz and Rayo secured the bye, and a late AEK Larnaca winner launched the frisky Cypriots into the coveted final spot. Of course, we must also talk about Fiorentina, who lost yet again (this time at Lausanne). We wrap things up with a title-contender power rankings and a look ahead to the knockouts draw in January. Cheers Jarkko Wiss!

We're back to break down all the action from last Thursday's Europa & Conference League bonanza. We start in Bulgaria and Romania, where Ludogorets and FCSB played host to two extraordinarily entertaining goal fests, with the former taking down struggling Feyenoord. We also take a stop in Greece to discuss why AEK Athens is in such good form and why they have a real shot at challenging for the UECL grown. Then we move on to the BIG BOYS in both competitions, stopping along the way to marvel at Aston Villa's ability to pull out close wins, laud Vincenzo Italiano for the work he's doing at Bologna, and pile on Fiorentina, Mainz, and Nice , who are all experiencing the worst of times. Of course, we still have time to talk Lincoln Red Imps' historic second win in the league phase, plus examine Wilfried Nancy's rocky start to life at Celtic. All that, and a look ahead to what's at stake on the Conference League league phase's final day on December 18. Cheers to Marko Nikolić!
Join Jake and Matt as they run you through all the action (and controversy) of Matchday 15 in Serie A !Inter have gone top, after beating Genoa and Milan faltering to their bogey team Sassuolo. Udinese dismantled Napoli, Roma outclassed Como, while 9-man Lazio pulled off a masterclass to get all 3 points against Parma. Juventus edged Bologna, while Fiorentina's nightmare continues as they lost to Hellas in the dying moments of the game. Lecce and Torino showed newcomers Pisa and Cremonese why they are mainstays in Serie A.
Welcome back to The Bundesliga Show! In this episode, the lads take you through the major talking points from Matchday 14 in the Bundesliga 2025/26! On Friday night, Union Berlin defeated Leipzig 3-1 in impressive style. A stunning opener by Oliver Burke was cancelled out by substitute Gomis. However, goals from Ansah and Skarke sparked jubilant scenes in Koepernick as the home side registered a key win. On Saturday, Leverkusen defeated Koeln 2-0 in a local derby in the Topspiel. The hosts won thanks to an improvised finish by Martin Terrier and a Robert Andrich header shortly after. Hoffenheim continued their strong Hinrunde with a resounding 4-1 win over HSV. They scored some well-worked goals through the likes of Proemel, Kabak, Lemperle and Asllani, with Rayan Philippe replying the the guests. Wolfsburg continued their recent improvement with a 3-1 win at Gladbach thanks to an inspired performance by Amoura. St. Pauli won the relegation six-pointer against FCH despite playing the entire second half with ten men. On Sunday, 1. FSV Mainz 05 almost staged the shock of the season against FC Bayern, but were pegged back to 2-2 thanks to a Harry Kane penalty. Lee looked to have given the Rhine-Hessen a famous away win in Urs Fischer's first league match in change, but the English forward had other ideas. Stuttgart produced perhaps the performance of the weekend, thrashing Werder 4-0 on their own patch. Jamie Lewelling scored a screamer to make it 2-0, adding to goals from El Khannouss, Undav and Fuehrich. Today the key matches include:1. Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) and Román de Arquer (@Aeroslavee) review Matchday 16 in our latest podcast!Part One kicks off with Real Madrid winning... but not convincing. Matt and Román share their views on Xabi Alonso's future, which could be far from the Bernabéu if he fails to succeed in his next two matches. They also highlight Raphinha's doblete to keep Barça up top, as well as Atleti's veterans, Koke, and particularly Antoine Griezmann, who ensured Atleti doesn't lose grip of the top three. In fact, it's Villarreal who hold that 3rd spot, but their fixture was postponed, giving way for an unstoppable Espanyol to round off the first half of the show with the praise they deserve.Part Two focuses on the manager sackings of the weekend, with Sergio Francisco and Luís Carrión having to say goodbye after further poor results from their teams. Is it the right call? Who could take over? Our podcasters help answer those questions as well as analysing Mallorca's convincing performance over Elche, Celta's first home win, and more...Thank you for listening, and remember you can access our bonus podcast and multiple weekly articles over at lllonline.substack.com.
