Dan and Jay rue what could of been.
Send us your questions and thoughts by text!! Leave your name in the text!A chaotic Premier League weekend gives us plenty to unpack. Mike's moment of the week sees the Dyche revival stall as Brighton halt Forest at the City Ground, while Jamie marvels at Woltemade's wonder-goal in Newcastle's biggest away win in years. Dylan relives Fulham's lightning-quick double that stunned Spurs and pushed them to a historic tenth home defeat of the calendar year.We move into our three marquee matchups, starting in London where ten-man Chelsea held Arsenal in a fiery 1-1 draw. We break down the contrasting disciplinary records of both sides, why Merino appears to be the new Peter Crouch, and that Arsenal's superb start still isn't their best under Arteta. Then it's off to Villa Park, where a thunderbolt from Boubacar Kamara edged Wolves, prompting a deep dive into Rob Edwards' high-energy blueprint and whether it will be good enough to keep them in the division (spoiler: it won't)! As well as going over Villa's growing defensive maturity under Unai Emery. Lastly, we head to Selhurst Park as Manchester United mounted a rare fightback: Zirkzee ends a near year-long drought, Mateta's perfect penalty record continues, and Bruno Fernandes climbs another rung on United's all-time assist ladder. In “One Thing We Learned,” Brentford's conveyor belt of number nines rolls on, Phil Foden keeps City breathing in the title race, and Sunderland complete their first-ever comeback from two goals down in the Premier League. And finally… the bin juice game of the week: West Ham 0–2 Liverpool, featuring Isak snapping his scoring drought in a match that will not live in the memory for all that long. All reviews, likes, shares and of course listens are hugely appreciated! We're thankful this week for a full Thanksgiving slate of Europa and Conference League action that delivered some of the best games and storylines of the league phase thus far. In Europa, Ludogorets shocked Celta Vigo with a 3-2 in Bulgaria. How'd they pull one of the biggest surprises of the tournament thus far? We then break down the struggle of Feyenoord, Utrecht, and Go Ahead Eagles, who all lost amidst grueling schedules. What's going wrong for the Dutch sides? Can any of them rebound and qualify for knockouts? Are Robin van Persie and his son up to the challenge? We also touch on Roma's win over Midtjylland, Bologna's impressive run of form, and naturally, the carcass of OG Nice, who now sit rock bottom of the table. There we upsets galore in Conference League, with each of the top 4 league sides falling. Strasbourg got a signature win in their triumph over the visiting Crystal Palace, and we hone in on what made the fixture such an exciting watch and why the clubs have established themselves as clear favorites. Then, we examine Rayo Vallecano's penchant for making life hard on themselves, Mainz's mediocre play catching up with them, and the dismal existence that is Fiorentina. And, naturally, we give Hamrun Spartans some love for becoming the first Maltese club to win a UEFA group-stage match. All that, some table takeaways, more VAR vitriol, and of course, David's Coefficient Corner. Cheers to our old friend Vincenzo Italiano!
Welcome back to The Bundesliga Show! In this episode, the lads take you through the major talking points from Matchday 12 in the Bundesliga 2025/26! On Friday night, Gladbach and Leipzig played out a disappointing 0-0 draw in what had been billed as a highly-anticipated match. Neither side was able to find the breakthrough despite Gladbach having a goal disallowed and a penalty overruled. On Saturday, Borussia Dortmund picked up a priceless 2-1 win at Leverkusen in the battle for Champions League football. Goals from Anselmino and Adeyemi proved to be the difference despite a late consolation courtesy of forward Kofane. Bayern were made to work hard for their 3-1 win against FC St. Pauli, as the vistitors took a shock lead early on. However, Guerreiro levelled just before half time, and after hitting the post three times in search of a winner, the hosts finally broke through thanks to Luis Diaz. Further gloss was provided to the scoreline by Nicolas Jackson. 1. FC Heidenheim earned a first away win of the season thanks to a sensational last minute turnaround at Union Berlin. Trailing as the match approached injury time, Schimmer finished smartly to level before a Jan Shoeppner header sealed a priceless win for FCH. On Sunday, the late drama continued as Hamburg earned a brilliant home win over VfB Stuttgart after a Fabio Vieira winner in the 94th minute. The hosts were down to 10-men as the away side levelled through another Undav strike, but held their nerve to strike late and send the Volkparkstadion wild. Mainz 05 turned in a horrendous performance in one of the most one-sided games of the season as they lost 4-0 at Freiburg. The hosts had already had a goal disallowed by the time Kubler bundled in yet anotther goal to add to his impressive career tally. The impressive Grifo doubled the lead before Nebel was dismissed for the guests. SCF added further gloss to the scoreline through Manzambi and Osterhage to send the fans home delirious. Today the key matches include:Hamburger SV vs VfB StuttgartSC Freiburg vs 1. FSV Mainz 05Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs Borussia Dortmund 1. FC Union Berlin vs 1. To accompany you as you open the first window in the advent calendar, we have a fresh podcast! The temperature may be getting colder, but LaLiga is hotting up, with plenty for Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) and Román De Arquer (@Aeroslavee) to unpack from Matchday 14.We begin at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, where Betis confirmed their superiority in the city of Seville. Victory here made it back-to-back gran derbi wins for the first time in 30 years! What a watch to celebrate the renewal of Manuel Pellegrini's contract. We then turn to the title race, which could barely be much closer. Just three points separate the top four. Real Madrid dropped points for the third consecutive match – this time at Montilivi – to cede leadership of the league and hand it back to Barcelona, just a month after beating them to go five points clear. We ask why it's going wrong lately, and where they go from here (Bilbao, because they have yet another away game).Despite being top anew, Barça have problems of their own, not least Hansi Flick's demeanour on the bench or the club's problems with the digital tickets at the new Camp Nou.In Part Two, we headline with the goal-fest of the weekend, as Villarreal maintained their rhythm, domestically that is. A genuine two-faced team, they fought to the end to ward off the La Real comeback and position themselves nicely in third spot.Atleti won their seventh game in succession, but the big test is Tuesday night in Barcelona.Elsewhere, Espanyol keep up their bright start, Celta still can't win at home, Getafe keep doing their thing, and a referee sent off a former referee.Last, but by no means least, Levante are looking for a new coach after they sacked Julián Calero following their 2-0 defeat at home to Athletic. Winless at home, albeit with a tough run of fixtures, Luis García Plaza is the favourite to replace Calero. Two big LaLiga matches and the next round of the Copa del Rey to look forward to this week, as well as plenty of content at lllonline.substack.com. Billi breaks down the Matchday 12 slate, which will see Dortmund travel to Leverkusen for the game of the weekend. Last season's Bundesliga double-header between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund produced a feast of goals and the first meeting between the pair this term from the BayArena looks set to be another high-octane encounter.Leverkusen were 3-2 winners away at Dortmund in January of last season before Die Borussen got their revenge on the road in May, coming from a goal down to triumph 4-2.It looks a tough ask for either side to challenge a rampant Bayern in the Bundesliga title race but they will both feel that they can finish second ahead of Leipzig and confidence should be high following their midweek Champions League success.

Dan and Jay still don't think we are title contenders.
We're back to hit on a number of topics as we return to European football this week! First, we dive into UEFA's new European tournament, the Women's Europa Cup, as it reaches the quarterfinal stage of its inaugural season. We discuss how it could benefit the European women's game long term, why the qualifying process is so damn complicated, and who advanced out of the Round of 16 (hello Scandinavia!) — including some stoppage and extra time drama. Then we touch on some of the best stories from the international break, including Scotland, Haiti, and Curaçao qualifying for next summer's tournament, before finishing with a quick look ahead to Thursday's packed slate. I hope you're as grateful for Thanksgiving-day Europa and Conference League action as we are! Cheers to Maxwell (listen to the end to learn why)!
