Six Nations, runda surprizelor.

Let us know what's on your mindA missed World Cup can break a career or build a new one. Erin King chose the second path. We sit down with Ireland's captain to unpack the shock of injury, the slow work of rehab, and the mindset shift that turned heartbreak into hunger ahead of a landmark Six Nations. From that first uneasy scan to the first whistle back, Erin shows how perspective reshapes performance—and how gratitude can harden into game-winning edge.We dig into Ireland's resurgence and what's changed beneath the highlights: smarter coaching, real investment from the IRFU, and youth pathways that finally give girls a clear route to the green jersey. Visibility is rising too, and it matters. The team's first standalone at the Aviva Stadium against Scotland is more than a fixture; it's proof that women's rugby belongs on the biggest stages with the biggest crowds. We talk tactics and temperament—quick rucks, brave width, disciplined defence—and why big venues amplify belief as much as noise. There's unfinished business off the field. Erin calls out the coverage gap and backs the “same energy” push, arguing that equal effort and equal results deserve equal attention. Progress is real—more media slots, fuller stands, smarter storytelling—but the job isn't done. We connect the dots between performance, promotion, and participation, showing how each win can spark the next generation to join a club, pick up a ball, and see themselves in this team. Today, I'm joined by Conor Dillon, the General Manager of the Dylan Hotel to explore what makes this renowned boutique five-star hotel located in the heart of Dublin 4 so special. Conor shares his professional journey through the hospitality industry, including time spent working internationally in exotic places like Australia and Bermuda, before returning to Ireland to lead one of the city's most distinctive hotels. He discusses the ethos behind The Dylan and what it means for the hotel to join Ireland's Blue Book, the esteemed collection celebrating the very best of Irish hospitality.Tucked just off Baggot Street, behind that striking red-brick Victorian façade dating back to 1900, the Dylan has quietly built a reputation as one of the capital's most distinctive places to stay combining rich heritage with a confident, contemporary Irish design identity.Located just a short stroll from Grafton Street and close to the Aviva Stadium and RDS, the Dylan offers the best of both worlds - peaceful surroundings with the city's cultural highlights within easy reach. Guests can even explore the neighbourhood through a curated self-guided walking tour. The conversation also explores Conor's recommendations for visitors to Dublin - from must-see cultural spots to his personal favourite hidden gems in the southside of the city. This is an insightful and engaging episode for anyone interested in travel, hospitality, and the stories behind Ireland's great hotels.I love the Blue Book because they are generally family owned and run Irish Country House Hotels, Manor Houses, castles and restaurants. You really get to see Irish hospitality at its best and the properties are generally old country houses, so you get a real sense of the history of the area you are staying in. Rugby fans and supporters at the recent South Africa versus Ireland game last weekend consumed over 2,000 GB of data, the equivalent of two million minutes of music streaming, according to Vodafone Ireland. The surge in data was driven by video recording, sharing and live streaming. Over 15,000 calls were made over the course of match-day - almost one third of the stadium made a phone call. During the Quilter Autumn Internationals, data usage at the stadium reflected strong engagement with fans attending the Japan game consuming almost 1,740 GB and Australia 1,771 GB. The fans at the South Africa game came in with the highest usage. Connectivity demand extended beyond rugby. At this summer's concerts featuring Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa, attendees consumed 5,137 GB of data across two nights. On the Lana Del Rey night alone, usage reached 2,633 GB, roughly the equivalent of ten years of nonstop podcast listening. Vodafone Ireland invests over €100 million annually in network improvements across Ireland, including upgrades at the Aviva Stadium which focus on delivering uninterrupted mobile and 5G coverage. To meet growing demand, Vodafone Ireland has also implemented network enhancements at Aviva Stadium as part of its nationwide investment program. These include: Deploying 5G capacity and spectrum utilisation in busy sectors. Optimising radios and backhaul for peak-hour demand. Continuous monitoring to adjust parameters during live events. Commenting on the figures, Sheila Kavanagh, Director of Vodafone Networks Ireland, said: "The data and voice activity we've seen at the Aviva Stadium this year shows just how essential reliable connectivity is for sports fans and music lovers. Over the course of the South Africa match-day alone, over 15,000 calls were made alongside significant data usage. Our ongoing investment, including 5G upgrades in the Aviva and throughout the country, ensures we can meet this demand and keep people connected during the biggest and most memorable moments." Investment also supported major summer festivals and cultural gatherings across Ireland. Temporary network sites and spectrum optimisation were deployed at events such as Flavours of Fingal, Bord Bia Bloom, Kaleidoscope, All Together Now and Electric Picnic where attendees relied heavily on navigation, social media, and streaming apps. Across these events, Vodafone Ireland managed over 220 TB of data, the equivalent of streaming 73 million songs! As sponsor of Irish Rugby, Vodafone marked the autumn series with a creative activation in Dublin city centre. A mural by artist KinMx on Chatham Row, developed in partnership with Carat, The Collectiv and Rockshot, celebrated the sport and its supporters. See more stories here. We are back from an international break to begin the countdown towards the climax of the season – our live show in Rascals on Monday November 3 with tickets going on sale on Wednesday. Oh, and there's the end of a thrilling European race, the playoff battle and the prospect of an FAI Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium where the fans – and not the SHOUTY PA GUY – will hopefully provide the volume. That's a bit of a garbage time rant in a show which is heaven for those who like permutations as the lads unpick the significance of the weekend's results with Johnny, fresh back from Dalymount, gathering the thoughts of both Stephen O'Donnell and Barry Baggley. Johnny tackles some criticism from Shels heads with the same relish he approaches small talk at a creche, a starter to a diverse mailbag that veers from Flann O'Brien to Usher before ending up in the cycle lane. As ever, we're trying to stay on the right track with the help of Sport Cosanta, Future Ticketing, Collar & Cuff and Rascals Brewing.
