Coming to you from the JRE Tobacco Aladino Studio, Nick is joined by Mike Brinker to discuss the news that the PCA Trade Show is considering coming to St. Louis in 2030. However, there has been some resistance to the idea from a few manufacturers and possible attendees. Both being from the STL area, the guys figure they need to stick up a bit for their region and discuss some of the reasons why bringing PCA to STL may be a good idea. And they go over some of the various highlights the city has to offer in terms of food, cigar shops, entertainment, and more. They are fair about it though and also discuss some of the things STL needs to do to prepare for a convention like this and get the city back on its feet in general. From there, learn what they've been watching lately in the Villiger Cigars Entertainment Report. And it's Tuesday, so Nick reviews a new Lemonade! Nick lights up the West Tampa Tobacco Red lancero and listens to your comments, questions, and more. We hear calls about the most popular vehicle used by terrorists, a crazed Easter Bunny, a threat against the alphabet, why box pressed cigars may be more flavorful, some North Carolina history, and perhaps why little Tootsie Rolls are named "midgees". Last year at the 2025 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans, Perdomo introduced their newest cigar line, Perdomo Legacy. The Legacy was created by Nicholas Perdomo III for his father, Nick Perdomo Jr, for his 60th birthday. What is so unique about this cigar is the use of a special shade grown tobacco that was cultivated in Perdomo's Finca Natalie farm in Estelí, Nicaragua. It was developed from a hybrid seed by combining proprietary Cameroon and Cuban tobacco seeds from Perdomo. This tobacco is used as the wrapper for this cigar, but it is also used on the Maduro and Connecticut cigars in the Legacy line as the binder. Coop as reviewed this cigar here, and it was also awarded the 2025 Cigar Coop Cigar of the Year.

Coming in at #7 Cigar of the Year for 2025 is the Fuente Fuente OpusX La Familia 25 Years. As the name suggests, this line commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Fuente Fuente OpusX brand. OpusX holds significant importance for its creator, Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. In late 1995, Carlito introduced the Fuente Fuente OpusX, a revolutionary cigar that demonstrated to the world that an ultra-premium Dominican puro could be crafted using a Dominican-grown wrapper. The OpusX 25 Years line was first introduced at the 2021 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show as part of an offering in an Elie Bleu humidor. That vitola for that release was a Churchill known as El Tributo. Fast forward to the 2024 PCA Trade Show, and Arturo Fuente showcased a perfecto size known as La Familia. The story of this cigar is a play on the many Chinese Zodiac “Year of the” limited edition cigars that have flooded the cigar market over the past few years. Instead of releasing a Chinese Zodiac cigar that pays homage to an animal representing a year, master ligador Steve Saka decided to use the series to pay tribute to the supporters of his brand. This year, the Year of the Duque pays homage to a gentleman by the name of Chris Duque. Duque is a long-time loyal fan of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. If you have visited the Dunbarton booth at the PCA Trade Show, chances are you have run into Chris. Chris volunteers his time to work exclusively at the Dunbarton booth. Earlier this year at the 2025 PCA Trade Show, Altadis unveiled a new ultra-premium cigar in their Montecristo line called M. What makes this special is a 20 year aged Ecuadorian Connecticut that is used for its wrapper. This special wrapper was acquired from David Perez of ASP in Nicaragua. The blend for the Montecristo M was developed by AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal using this wrapper at AJ's factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Here is what Altadis had to say about the cigar: “Crafted by the legendary cigarmaker AJ Fernandez, the story of this smoke lies in a wrapper that has been carefully and beautifully aged for two decades. Aging a cigar's wrapper leaf, like a fine bourbon or wine, adds a tremendous amount of character and maturity to a smoke, heightening the tasting notes and taking the smoker on a journey far beyond what they have experienced from normal mass market offerings in the past. The Connecticut seed Ecuadorian leaf utilized for this project was cultivated and brought to life through the fifth-generation grower David Perez, resulting in a medium-bodied smoke that is uniquely proportioned to accentuate the subtle beauty of the wrapper.” Vitola: Toro Size: 6 x 52 Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Country of Origin: Nicaragua Factory: Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A. MSRP: $15.99 Final Score: 93

Each year at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Gurkha introduces several new releases, and 2025 was no exception. A few years ago, Gurkha decided to emphasize its capabilities as a cigar maker, which led to a more simplified packaging approach. However, in the past couple of years, Gurkha has returned to its roots with more ornate and elaborate packaging while continuing to enhance its cigar-making skills. Additionally, the 2025 PCA Trade Show featured the unveiling of a new brand, Volition America, which was launched in late 2024 and presents an entirely different theme. The 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show was the first for Bentley Tobacco. Bentley Tobacco traces its roots back to 1878, when it started out as a pipe manufacturer. After nearly a century in business, the company broadened its mission to include premium tobacco products, with a particular focus on high-end cigars. Martin Schuster, representing the Schuster family, leads Bentley Tobacco. Until recently, the company primarily centered its efforts in Europe. However, late last year saw the launch of a U.S. division, Bentley Tobacco | USA, with Jonathan Carney, the former Vice President of La Flor Dominicana, stepping in as CEO and co-owner. Although Bentley began its U.S. rollout last year, the 2025 PCA Trade Show marked a significant debut for Bentley Tobacco | USA. Full PCA Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-wwf

The 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show saw Altadis U.S.A.'s Romeo y Julieta take center stage. Having covered the PCA Trade Show for 15 years, I can honestly say that I have never seen an exhibit quite like the one for Romeo y Julieta. Although Altadis U.S.A. was my "company" going into the Trade Show, I didn't expect to witness something at the level of Romeo y Julieta. Their exhibit was essentially a booth within a booth, showcasing the rich history of this iconic brand. The highlight of the event was the celebration of Romeo y Julieta's 150th anniversary, marked by a special cigar crafted for this significant milestone. This cigar features a unique blend of tobaccos from Altadis and its partners that has never been seen before. Full PCA Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-wrt

Although the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show didn't feature as many new releases as Kristoff has in recent years, it was certainly not a quiet year. The 2025 PCA Trade Show would see the grand unveiling of Kristoff's revamped packaging across its portfolio. That was announced in 2023, and while Kristoff already moved a few lines to the new packaging, 2025 would see the lion's share of the portfolio transitioned. In addition, once again, Kristoff would have a PCA Exclusive cigar to offer. Full PCA Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-woX

While Plasencia Cigars is always one of the busiest booths at the PCA Trade Show, 2025 took things to another level.
