On today's KITM, David Waldman delivers us to the weekend and parks us right under the cloud of another mass shooting. Well, you can't say this shooter was the quiet type who always kept to themselves that you'd never guess… Senator Chris Van Hollen went to El Salvador and met Kilmar Abrego Garcia, yet neither one of their heads have appeared on pikes behind Donald K. Trump in a press briefing, so I guess things are better than I thought, and less what Sebastian Gorka wishes they were. A judge has also kept Trump from ordering hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans to leave the country, but like the heads on pikes, we don't know what this weekend will bring. Trump did promise to end the war in Ukraine easily within 24 hours. Of course, if it takes longer, or becomes difficult, that offer is void. Measles and E. coli spread, but not as fast as Russian chatbot disinformation.

Marc Cox welcomes tax attorney and former IRS counsel Rosemary Becchi to break down the immigration legal battle unfolding under the Biden and Trump administrations. Becchi exposes how an Obama-appointed judge is blocking Trump's attempt to end a special immigration parole program—CHNV—covering Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans flown into the U.S. under Biden's executive order. Rosemary clarifies that the ruling doesn't protect all illegals—just this narrow group. Marc highlights the chaos of case-by-case reviews, the expected Supreme Court fight, and California's staggering $2B budget plea to fund Medicaid for illegal immigrants. It's another example of Biden's immigration disaster now falling into Trump's lap.

It's Tuesday, April 15th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nicaraguan government cancels Resurrection celebrations The Nicaraguan government is cancelling Resurrection week celebrations, and replacing them with their own events, reports International Christian Concern. Exiled Nicaraguan leader Felix Maradiaga explains that “The model that Sandinistas want to implement is very similar to that of China.”  The government “has a long history of trying to create a parallel church [and] of wanting to take possession of the symbols of faith.” Russians bombed Ukrainian city on Palm Sunday, kids' playground The Russian army bombed the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy on Palm Sunday, resulting in at least 34 citizens losing their lives, reports The Associated Press. Two children were among the dead. Last week, Russians bombed a children's playground in the city of Kryvyi Rih, killing twenty, nine of whom were children, reports the BBC. The United Nations calculates that over 12,600 Ukrainian civilians have been killed, and over 29,000 injured since the war started three years ago.  In addition, Reuters reports that Russia has dropped over 50,000 guided bombs on Ukraine since 2022. China has stopped exports of products for aerospace industry As the global trade war continues, China has stopped exporting certain products to America, including minerals and magnets used by the aerospace industry, automakers, aerospace manufacturers, and semiconductor companies. China's Ministry of Commerce has also issued regulations forbidding Chinese companies from doing business with a number of American companies. China's trade surplus with America jumped in March China's trade surplus exploded in March  — 12.4% year over year. China's trade surplus is the largest in the world, running around $1 trillion. Germany, Russia, and Saudi Arabia also lead the world in trade surpluses. China's surplus with the U.S. was up 4.5% in March, up 14% for India, up 11% for Africa, and up 17% for Vietnam.   The nation with the worst trade deficit is the United States -- running over $1.1 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom, India, France, and Turkey. Chinese students leaving U.S. universities Chinese students are leaving American universities. The official Chinese government's news service announced a 40% drop off of Chinese doctoral students at U.S colleges. Today, only 277,400 Chinese students are enrolled in U.S. higher education institutions which is down from 373,000 four years ago. Fewer Europeans traveling to United States Europeans are more reticent to travel to the United States. The numbers have dropped by 17% in March, year over year.  This represents the largest decline since the COVID-19 pandemic. More Gen Z men profess faith in Christ Here are more surprising numbers coming from the Barna Group. Since 2019, the percentage of Gen Z young men who profess to be committed to Jesus has increased by 19%.   Sadly, the metric is not improving for young women. Numbers remain “mostly flat in their commitment levels to Jesus.” Let's remember Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 16:22. “If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!” United Kingdom bill would curtail home schooling The U.K. House of Lords has scheduled a second reading for an education bill that is set to curtail homeschooling. The law would require homeschooling parents to submit an extensive curriculum plan, along with other stipulations. Gold up; Nasdaq and Bitcoin down Gold continues its rise. Remarkably, it's value is now $3,200 per ounce, an increase in value of 16% since January 1st.   The Nasdaq is down 12% since the start of the year, hovering around 17,000 points. Bitcoin is down 9% since January at $85,000 per bitcoin.  Jair Bolsonaro survived 12-hour surgery after assassination attempt By the mercies of God, Brazil's previous president, Jair Bolsonaro survived a 12-hour-long surgery. This is his fifth medical intervention after a stabbing attack in 2018. His wife, Michelle, took to Instagram to announce that “the surgery concluded with success. My heart overflows with gratefulness for each one of you who have been praying.”  Michele's Instagram account describes herself as a servant of the Lord.  She writes, “Honor, glory, strength, and power to King Jesus!” Trump's powerful Christian message during Holy Week And finally, in one of the most explicit Christian messages ever issued by a world leader in our day, President Donald Trump issued a tribute to the Christian “holy week” on his Truth Social account. He wrote, “This Holy Week, Christians around the world remember the crucifixion of God's only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, ‘HE IS RISEN!' “Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God's boundless love and devotion to all humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, history was forever changed with the promise of Everlasting Life. … “I want to wish Christians everywhere a happy and very blessed holiday. America is a nation of believers. We need God, we want God and, with His help, we will make our nation stronger, safer, greater, more prosperous, and more united than ever before.” Psalm 72:10-11 speaks of the king's Son, who rules, and is to be praised by all nations. The Scripture declares, “The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring presents; The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, April 15th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Jeremy Kuzmarov - Warmonger - How Clinton's Malign Foreign Policy Launched the US Trajectory from Bush II to BidenNov 17, 2023During  the 2016 presidential election, many younger voters repudiated Hillary  Clinton because of her husband's support for mass incarceration, banking  deregulation and free-trade agreements that led many U.S. jobs to be  shipped overseas. Warmonger: How Clinton's Malign Foreign Policy Launched the Trajectory from Bush II to Biden,  shows that Clinton's foreign policy was just as bad as his domestic  policy. Cultivating an image as a former anti-Vietnam War activist to  win over the aging hippie set in his early years, as president, Clinton  bombed six countries and, by the end of his first term, had committed  U.S. troops to 25 separate military operations, compared to 17 in Ronald  Reagan's two terms. Clinton further expanded America's covert empire of  overseas surveillance outposts and spying and increased the budget for  intelligence spending and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a  CIA offshoot which promoted regime change in foreign nations.   The  latter was not surprising because, according to CIA operative Cord  Meyer Jr., Clinton had been recruited into the CIA while a Rhodes  Scholar at Oxford, and as Governor of Arkansas in the 1980s he had  allowed clandestine arms and drug flights to Nicaraguan  counter-revolutionaries (Contras) backed by the CIA to be taken from  Mena Airport in the western part of the state. Rather than being a time  of tranquility when the U.S. failed to pay attention to the gathering  storm of terrorism, as New York Times columnist David Brooks frames it,  the Clinton presidency saw rising tensions among the U.S., China and  Russia because of Clinton's malign foreign policies, and U.S. complicity  in terrorist acts.   In so many ways, Clinton's presidency set  the groundwork for the disasters that were to follow under Bush II,  Obama, Trump, and Biden. It was Clinton--building off of Reagan--who  first waged a War on Terror ridden with double standards, one that  adopted terror tactics, including extraordinary rendition, bombing and  the use of drones. It was Clinton who cried wolf about human rights  abuses and the need to protect beleaguered peoples from genocide to  justify military intervention in a post-Cold War age. And it was  Clinton's administration that pressed for regime change in Iraq and  raised public alarm about the mythic WMDs--all while relying on fancy  new military technologies and private military contractors to distance  US shady military interventions from the public to limit dissent.Jeremy Kuzmarov talks to Ed Opperman about his surprising and highly researched new book.BookBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

On January 29 1971 — In accepting the Tris Speaker Award from Houston sportswriters, Roberto Clemente gives a speech which, apart from being called by many of those in attendance “the best talk any baseball player ever made,” is the source of Clemente's most famous – if oft misquoted – assertion: “If you have an opportunity to accomplish something that will make things better for someone coming behind you, and you don't do that, you are wasting your time on this earth.”A member of the 3,000-hit club, Roberto Clemente was a tremendously proud man who was often misunderstood by the press and his teammates. He was criticized for refusing to play with minor injuries, despite the fact that he won four batting championships. He played on two Pirate World Series winners and became more legendary after his tragic death while delivering supplies to victims of the Nicaraguan earthquake in 1972 than during his playing days. His tragic death prompted the Hall of Fame's Board of Director's to unanimously wave the customary five year period for induction, opening the door for the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) to hold a special election on Clemente's behalf. By an overwhelming vote of 93%, Clemente became the first player of Latin American descent to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.Mentioned in this episode:Classic Baseball BroadcastsClassic Baseball Broadcasts

Interview with Darren Bowden, CEO, Metals Exploration PLCOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/metals-exploration-aimmtl-acquisitive-cash-generative-gold-junior-4935Recording date: 15th of January, 2025Metals Exploration, an LSE-listed gold producer, is executing a multi-jurisdictional growth strategy anchored by strong operational performance and strategic acquisitions. The company's Runruno mine in the Philippines achieved stellar results in 2024, with over 90% recovery rates and 83,500 ounces of gold production, generating $96 million in free cash flow.In a significant move to expand its portfolio, the company acquired the Condor gold assets in Nicaragua in 2024. The construction-ready Condor project is expected to produce 130,000-150,000 ounces annually, marking a 50% increase over Runruno's current output. To accelerate development, Metals Exploration purchased a secondhand processing plant, targeting production within 18-24 months. With estimated all-in sustaining costs of $900-1,000 per ounce, the project promises robust margins at current gold prices. The company's growth strategy is backed by a strong financial position, with zero debt and consistent quarterly free cash flow of $20-25 million. Projected cash generation of $170-180 million over the next two years will fully fund Condor's $110-120 million capital requirements without shareholder dilution. At Runruno, a recently identified near-mine target could extend operations by 3-10 years beyond the current 2027 mine life. Initial assessments show promising grades of over 15 g/t gold and 7% copper across the strike length, with drilling set to commence soon.CEO Darren Bowden's team brings extensive Latin American experience to navigate the Nicaraguan operation. The Condor acquisition included a seasoned management team with established local relationships, helping mitigate operational risks in the new jurisdiction.Further growth potential lies in the Philippines through the Abra project, acquired in August 2024, which hosts two significant targets including one of the largest copper footprints in the region. This forms part of the company's "pillar four" strategy for longer-term growth once multiple operating mines are established.Metals Exploration aims to achieve a FTSE listing by 2028, driving its ambitious expansion plans. The company's measured approach to growth, combining operational excellence with strategic acquisitions, positions it to evaluate additional opportunities once Condor's development advances, creating a sustainable pathway to mid-tier producer status without overextending resources.Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/metals-exploration-plcSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Her relationships with her mother, cousins, and aunts shaped her view of the world and the female archetypes that exist within Latin American culture. In today's episode, Rodríguez speaks with NPR's A Martínez about how nuance is lost in Latina stereotypes, the cultural significance of ghost encounters, and practicing critique from a place of love. Then, Julie Sedivy is a linguistics and psychology professor who started speaking five languages before first grade. An American Church Thrived in Nicaragua. Then Its Pastors Went to Prison. The New York Times, By Frances Robles, on Sept. 5, 2024https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/05/us/american-pastors-nicaragua-money-laundering.html Nicaragua has increasingly slipped towards authoritarian rule under President Daniel Ortega and his wife, Rosario Murillo, who have maintained control over the government for decades. Their regime has taken a firm stance against organizations that challenge their authority, particularly religious and nonprofit groups. Recently, the government revoked the tax-exempt status of nonprofits, including churches, under the guise of combating money laundering. This led to a wave of arrests and the prosecution of numerous religious leaders and organizations, among them the Hancock family and their Mountain Gateway Church.Mountain Gateway Church, an evangelical institution run by the Hancocks from Texas, was operating across multiple rural towns in Nicaragua. The church's business dealings, which included running a coffee company, were suddenly targeted by the government following the new laws. Though the church claimed they had always been transparent and compliant, Ortega's regime accused them of money laundering and placed heavy fines on their leaders, with some church members receiving long prison sentences. The Hancocks, being out of the country at the time, were fined $80 million, and their return to Nicaragua seems unlikely as long as the current regime remains in power. The situation in Nicaragua is complex. On one hand, there are longstanding grievances between the Catholic Church and the Ortega government, which has jailed Catholic leaders under similar accusations of financial misconduct. On the other hand, Mountain Gateway was initially allowed to operate freely, leading some to suspect that the government was using the church for political gain, only to turn on them when their influence grew too large. Some argue the church's operations resembled those of a mega-church, exploiting Nicaragua's people and resources under the guise of religion, while others suggest the government's crackdown is part of a broader strategy to eliminate any group that threatens its control. In the broader context, this situation reflects a power struggle over the hearts and minds of Nicaraguans, with the government aiming to suppress religious influence and protestant churches rising in prominence while Catholicism declines. The role of the U.S. in this affair is also worth noting, as Mountain Gateway's involvement ultimately led to a prisoner swap with Nicaragua, raising questions about the influence of American interests and politics in the region. The church's ties to U.S. politicians may have played a part in the State Department's intervention, further complicating the already murky narrative of whether the church was an innocent victim or a party to the regime's power games. The Non-Prophets, Episode 23.38.1 featuring Jimmy Jr., Kelley, and Jonathan Roudabush.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-non-prophets--3254964/support.

It's Friday, September 13th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Spanish Evangelicals ask Nicaragua to revoke closure of churches This summer, the Nicaraguan regime, led by President Daniel Ortega, has shut down 1,500 independent Evangelical and Catholic groups, churches, and non-governmental organizations, reports Evangelical Focus. In view of this dire situation, the Spanish Evangelical Alliance made a formal complaint to the Nicaraguan government. In a letter sent to the Nicaraguan consulate in Spain, they wrote, “We ask you most respectfully and firmly to not only stop, but to reverse your harassment and demolition of freedoms in Nicaragua. Although you may not realize it, the first to suffer is the government itself and the country as a whole.” According to Open Doors, Nicaragua is the 30th most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian Psalm 9:9 says, “The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” ABC's bias revealed during debate Did ABC have its thumb on the scale of fairness during the presidential debate this past Tuesday night in Philadelphia? First, Trump was the only candidate whom David Muir and Linsey Davis, the ABC co-anchors, targeted for multiple follow-up questions.  While CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash chose not to correct any misstatements by the candidates during Trump's debate with Biden in June, the ABC co-anchors instead challenged statements that Trump made about abortion, immigration, the 2020 election, and violent crime, reports the Associated Press. Kamala Harris was not once asked a follow-up question. It seemed as though it were a three-on-one debate instead of a one-on-one debate. During a discussion of abortion, Trump claimed that Democrats supported killing babies after they were born. TRUMP: “Her vice presidential pick says, ‘Abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine.' He also says execution after birth, it's execution, no longer abortion, because the baby is born is okay. And that's not okay with me.” ABC co-anchor Linsey Davis said this in a rebuttal. DAVIS: “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it was born. Madam Vice President, I want to get your response to President Trump.” After years of publicly not admitting to his defeat to Biden in the 2020 election, ABC co-anchor David Muir pointed out that Trump had recently, on three separate occasions, seemingly conceded he had lost. Trump replied that he had been sarcastic in making those recent remarks. Muir offered this rebuttal. MUIR: “I did watch all of these pieces of video. I didn't detect the sarcasm. ‘Lost by whisker.' ‘We didn't quite make it.' And we should just point out here as clarification, and you know this, you and your allies, 60 cases in front of many judges, many of them Republican. ” TRUMP: “No judge looked at it. Many judges said we didn't have standing. That's the other thing. They said we didn't have standing. A technicality. Can you imagine a system where a person in an election doesn't have standing? The President of the United States doesn't have standing? That's how we lost. If you look at the facts, and I'd love to have you do a special on it. I'll show you Georgia, and I'll show you Wisconsin, and I'll show you Pennsylvania. “We have so many facts and statistics, but you know what? That doesn't matter, because we have to solve the problem that we have right now. That's old news. And the problem that we have right now is we have a nation in decline, and they have put it into decline. We have a nation that is dying, David.” MUIR: “Mr. President, thank you. Vice President Harris, you heard the President there tonight. He said he didn't say that he lost by a whisker. So, he still believes he did not lose the election that was won by President Biden and yourself. But I do want to ask you about something that's come up in the last couple of days. Mr. President, thank you. Vice President Harris.” After Trump claimed that crime had gone up during the Biden administration because of their open border policy which let in criminals, Muir claimed that violent crime had gone down in America. Listen. TRUMP: “Millions of people let in. All over the world crime is down. All over the world, except here, crime here is up and through the roof, despite their fraudulent statements that they made. Crime in this country is through the roof. We have a new form of crime. It's called ‘migrant crime,' and it's happening at levels that nobody thought possible.” MUIR: “President Trump, as you know, the FBI, says overall, violent crime is actually coming down in this country.” TRUMP: “Excuse me, the FBI defraud. They were defrauding statements. They didn't include the worst cities. They didn't include the cities with the worst crime. It was a fraud, just like their number of 818,000 jobs that they said they created turned out to be a fraud.” MUIR: “President Trump, thank you. I'll let you respond. Vice President Harris.” HARRIS: “Well, I…” After Trump repeated a report that illegal immigrants were killing and eating pets in Springfield, Ohio, David Muir weighed in once again. MUIR: “Want to clarify here. You bring up Springfield, Ohio, and ABC News did reach out to the city manager there. He told us there have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” TRUMP:  “Well, I've seen people on television.” MUIR: “Let me just say here.” TRUMP: “The people on television saying my dog was taken and used for food. So, maybe he said that. And maybe that's a good thing to say for a city manager.” MUIR: “I'm not taking this from television.” TRUMP: “But people on television said my pets were eaten by the people that went there.” MUIR: “Again, the Springfield city manager says there's no evidence of that.” TRUMP: “We'll find out.” MUIR: “Vice President, I'll let you respond to the rest of what you've heard.” Trump turns down another debate Not surprisingly, on Thursday, former President Donald Trump said he would not participate in another election debate against his rival Vice President Kamala Harris, reports NewsMax. After participating in a debate against President Joe Biden in June and Harris this past Tuesday, he wrote this on Truth Social: "There will be no third debate!" He also said that Kamala “and Crooked Joe have destroyed our country, with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with inflation bankrupting our Middle Class. ... Kamala should focus on what she should have done during the last almost four-year period." Alistair Begg announces plans to retire Author and pastor Alistair Begg has announced plans to retire as the senior pastor of Parkside Church in Cleveland, Ohio, on September14, 2025, five decades after entering into the ministry, reports The Christian Post. The voice behind the radio teaching ministry Truth for Life, the 72-year-old Scottish pastor has served as Parkside Church's senior pastor since 1983. Begg said, "It is not precipitous. It's not driven by anything of which I am personally aware, other than my ambition to pass the baton safely into the hands of my successor." Earlier this year, Begg sparked controversy after refusing to repent for comments he made in a 2023 podcast in which he advised a grandmother to attend her grandson's marriage to a trans-identified person as an act of love. ‘CHiPs' star Erik Estrada works undercover to arrest child sexual predators And finally, actor Erik Estrada is known for his many decades starring in TV shows and movies, but the “CHiPs” star has also forged a path as a law enforcement official who works undercover to stop child sex predators, reports FaithWire.com. Estrada, age 75, recently told Fox News about his journey from Hollywood into policing. ESTRADA: “I got exposed to child internet pornography by the sheriff and his task force. They call themselves the Blue Ridge Thunder Task Force. “I got so upset when I saw what I saw because my daughter was seven at the time. It really upset me, and then I got angry. Made me mad.” Today, he works with law enforcement where he entraps deviants by using fake identities to try and snag them before they can hurt kids. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus said, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, September 13th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Tuesday, September 3rd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nicaragua bans another 92 religious groups Daniel Ortega's government has cancelled legal recognition of another 92 religious organizations in Nicaragua. It's all part of a cancellation of 1,651 civil social organizations. That brings to a total of 5,552 organizations that have been blackballed by the Nicaraguan government. Of the most recent cancellations, most prominent are the Episcopal Church of Nicaragua, which has had a presence in the region since 1612, and the Moravian Church of Nicaragua, which was established in 1847. And, to add insult to injury, the Ortega government has announced they will be taxing churches of their monies received from tithes and offerings, at a rate of 10 to 30%, according to La Prensa.   In fact, La Prensa itself lost its facilities to the government in 2022, and 135 reporters have been in exile since then. Mexico, Syria, and Pakistan: Top 3 most dangerous for journalists The nation where it is most dangerous to work in journalism is Mexico, followed by Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, and the Congo. That's according to a recent report from Reporters Without Borders. Denmark and Norway eager to kill more babies Both Denmark and Norway are allowing for more killing of babies, by liberalizing their abortion laws this year.  They have legalized abortion to 18 weeks of pregnancy, up from 12 weeks.  However, Parliament has still to vote on the Norwegian proposal. According to a report from the Council on Foreign Relations, “Since 2020, Argentina and Thailand legalized abortions, with certain gestational limits; South Korea decriminalized abortion; and New Zealand eased its abortion restrictions. … Colombia has made abortion legal on demand up to twenty-four weeks of pregnancy, and Mexico decriminalized abortion as well.  Only Honduras, Poland, and the United States have contemplated more restrictions on abortion of late.” Psalm 46:6-7 says, “The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; He utters His voice, the Earth melts. The Lord of Hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.” Chinese stock hit another low The Chinese Shanghai Stock Index has hit another low, representing a downward trend since May 2021. The far east markets have failed to improve any since 2006.  Vermont schools bans use of terms: “Sons and daughters” The Vermont Department of Health has issues guidelines, advising public school teachers not to use terms like “Sons and Daughters,” but to prefer gender-neutral terms like kids or children. African Methodist Episcopalians demanding reparations The African Methodist Episcopal denomination is demanding reparations for sins committed by previous generations against African immigrants. The meeting of 15,000 delegates and observers also received video greetings from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The denomination voted down an initiative to legitimize homosexual marriage — and remanded the matter back to committee.  God's law, as stated in Ezekiel 18:20, reminds us that, “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.” Ford, Lowe's Tractor Supply Co, & Harley Davidson renounce DEI Big business is getting cold feet on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs. So far, Ford Motor Company, Lowe's, John Deere, Tractor Supply Co., and Harley Davidson have changed their approaches to DEI policies. More companies are backing away from participating in the pro-homosexual Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index. 68% of Evangelicals plan to vote for Trump A recent Deseret/HarrisX poll found that 51% of Christians and 68% of Evangelicals are planning on voting for Donald Trump in the upcoming election — that despite Trump's announcement he would oppose a federal abortion ban. Separately, a Washington Post-ABC-Ipsos poll found that 78% of white Evangelicals are planning to vote for Donald Trump this November.  That compares to 76% of white Evangelicals voting for Trump in the 2020 election, according to Gallup polling. The HarrisX poll found Catholics are split exactly 46% to 46% on Trump and Harris in the upcoming election.  Reagan movie beloved by moviegoers but despised by liberal critics And finally, Reagan, the new film starring Dennis Quaid as the 40th president, was released over Labor Day weekend. It nearly doubled expectations at the box office, bringing in $9.2 million in total. The film set the record for the largest disparity between an audience score and the critics score. The critics savaged the film with an average Rotten Tomatoes rating of 20%. Meanwhile, the audience scored the film at a 98% approval rating.   My kids and I saw it this past Saturday in San Antonio, Texas along with three friends. It was an inspiring and touching film.  I recommend it highly. Watch the Reagan trailer and get tickets at www.Reagan.movie.   The Boondock Saints movie, released in 2000, produced a 65% divide between critics and audience scores. And the Kendrick Brothers' movie Facing the Giants, released in 2006, produced a 69% divide between critics and audience scores. Join us as we welcome the insightful Dr. Peter Rosset, an esteemed agroecologist and activist embedded in the heart of Central America. Dr. Rosset brings his wealth of experience with La Via Campesina—a formidable global social movement uniting over 200 million rural families—to our discussion. Together, we dissect the pivotal role this movement plays in championing indigenous rights and food sovereignty while defending nature, rural life, and equitable access to land. Contrast the principles of agroecology with the entrenched norms of industrial agriculture, and explore how harmonious, socially just farming practices can resist the tide of agribusiness and revitalize rural landscapes, particularly in the Global South. Our exploration extends into the political undercurrents that have shaped agricultural revolutions in Latin America, influenced by historic movements like the Vietnam War and Black Power Movement. Discover the journey of a politically-engaged individual whose technical support during the Nicaraguan revolution and subsequent experiences across Latin America underscore the complexities of fostering ethical agricultural systems. Learn practical ways to support farm workers, indigenous land claims, and family farmers in the U.S. Finally, we turn our focus to Cuba, where innovative agricultural practices, such as urban organopanicos and the campesino-to-campesino model, emerged from necessity and now stand as beacons of sustainable food production. Reflect on Cuba's lessons of ecological resilience and social equity, crucial as we confront the challenges posed by climate change.   For sources and to read more about this subject, visit: www.agroecologies.org    To support this podcast, join our patreon for early episode access at https://www.patreon.com/poorprolesalmanac For PPA Writing Content, visit: www.agroecologies.org For PPA Restoration Content, visit: www.restorationagroecology.com For PPA Merch, visit: www.poorproles.com For PPA Native Plants, visit: www.nativenurseries.org To hear Tomorrow, Today, our sister podcast, visit: www.tomorrowtodaypodcast.org/   Agroecology, La Via Campesina, Indigenous Rights, Food Sovereignty, Nature, Rural Life, Land Access, Industrial Agriculture, Global South, Political Undercurrents, Agricultural Revolutions, Latin America, Vietnam War, Black Power Movement, Ethical Agricultural Systems, Farm Workers, Indigenous Land Claims, Family Farmers, Cuba, Urban Organoponicos, Campesino-to-Campesino Model, Ecological Resilience, Social Equity, Climate Change, Sustainable Food Production
