Although the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show didn't feature as many new releases as Kristoff has in recent years, it was certainly not a quiet year. The 2025 PCA Trade Show would see the grand unveiling of Kristoff's revamped packaging across its portfolio. That was announced in 2023, and while Kristoff already moved a few lines to the new packaging, 2025 would see the lion's share of the portfolio transitioned. In addition, once again, Kristoff would have a PCA Exclusive cigar to offer. Full PCA Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-woX

Welcome to Leavenworth, Washington, also known as Little Bavaria. Front Street is lined with Alpine-style buildings and restaurants serving German beer and food. The Nutcracker Museum displays thousands of nutcrackers, some dating back centuries. The BIT Crew pays homage to Bavarian mainstays, including beer, pretzels, hot tubs, cold tubs, BMWs, Mini Coopers, Leiderhosen, the Bavarian flag, ice skating, polka music, and hot, hot goss! You may even learn a few things about Bavaria that might be true! Not only does everyone in Leavenworth seem to have a GoFundMe, they also have podcasts! Enjoy the Leavenworth Podcast Network's 2025 lineup! Hot Tub Chat: Hosted by Flannery Feinberg and Buford Billingsly. They aren't having much luck finding a hot, hot tub, but they are charming and their on-site segments are often educational. Cold. Colder. Coldest. Rocky and Helmut (the Bavarian) host this delightful podcast. They mostly inform tourists on what to do in freezing weather; sometimes Rocky tries to find Bavaria on a map and learn German during the acclaimed "Helmut Teaches German" segments. In the Barrell? Jenny Winter and Spring Smith spill the tea and find the drama behind the town's annual March Fest (like Oktoberfest...but in March). These two aren't afraid to stir the pots and poke the bears. You never know which local character will be in their hot seat. Sponsors include Snowball Jam 2025, Wilbur's Ice Skating Rink & Skating School, Barry's Ba Ba Bar, Johanna's Icicle Inn, Kristoff's Skintight Leiderhosen, Fritz's 24/7 Bail Bonds, March Fest Bier Garten, Beate Uhse, and Gunter's Grinder. Coming in at #4 on the 2024 Cigar of the Year Countdown is the Kristoff Tres Compadres Toro. The name Tres Compadres means “three friends.” In this case, it is a tribute from Kristoff owner Glen Case to two of his close friends who recently passed away, Chuck Finch and Rolando Villamil. Case would often refer to the three of them as the three amigos. Rolando Villamil is a name that may be pretty familiar if you cover the cigar industry, as he ran Tabacalera Von Eicken in the Dominican Republic, where all of Kristoff's cigars are produced. Any other business HPR Updates There has been a lot of activity this month on the Gitea repos with rho`n catching up on outstanding bugs. We also had a lot of changes due to the ongoing Internet Archive outage that is still impacting us. A quick fix was to host the 10 day feed directly from the HPR server, but since then we have made all the media available on the HPR Community Content Delivery Network. We will have three sources but if you meet the requirements for hosting, and wish to help out please get in touch. 24/7 Home Service Fixed IP address Unlimited bandwidth Fast > 500mb/sec upload Large > 1T of storage Permission from your ISP to run a web server Contact information known to the Janitors Optional: UPS We added a html link to the comments page to provide direct feedback from any app that supports it. Eg: gPodder opens Firefox at the comment form. We have consolidated a lot of repositories on Gitea, removing some and moving others. https://repo.anhonesthost.net/HPR Documentation is now available and includes: Community Content Delivery Network (CCDN) A location to track the deployment of the HPR Community Content Delivery Network, that provides a mirror network for our content. HPR Website Design This is literally in the whiteboard phase of the HPR website redesign. Podcatcher and Podcasting Platform Compatibility Where we can track Compatibility of the clients subscribed to our feeds. Useful Resources Where we can link to other free culture sites that provide useful services. Requested Topics Where we can track topics that have been requested, and link to shows that addressed them. Workflow issues. Message from Dave Morriss I am planning to "retire" from the Hacker Public Radio Janitorial Team. I have been helping to administer HPR for over 12 years now. I first offered help to Ken in 2012 in response to an appeal he made. We met at OggCamp in that year, and I joined the Community News recording for episode 1066 in September 2012. My first show was 1091 in October that year. I will turn 75 in December 2024, and am finding that I don't have the energy to do as much as I could when I first joined. I also want to be able to devote more time to the various personal projects I have. I plan to consolidate all my scripts on the HPR Gitea repositories, and document all the processes I have been looking after. I want to have completed the handover by the end of March 2025. I will continue as an HPR host for as long as I can after that. I have had a wonderful 12 years as an HPR Janitor and will always look back on it with great pleasure. Provide feedback on this episode.

Is there enough Human Spirit in your Marketing? Episode 221 (Kristof is based in South Carolina) In this conversation with Kristof Morrow we explore: The honest perspective from a person with Tourette's Syndrome The value of revealing a flaw Talking about internal conflicts Indirect marketing versus direct marketing Memorable characters from Super Bowl ads Understanding the audience that likes and follows you Recognizing the perspective of the audience, their bias and ignorance How to show kindness in your marketing Being transparent about your deficiencies ----- About our guest, Kristof Morrow: Kristof is an award wining journalist and the author of two books in the fantasy series, The Second Sun. He is a disabled veteran. He has Tourette's Syndrome which offers him a unique perspective on marketing and communication. His mission is to help people better understand each other. You can learn more about Kristof and his book, at the website: https://www.kristofmorrow.com/ ----- Excerpts from this conversation with Kristof Morrow: Respect is a large part of marketing. ----- For example, you you just said "Shakespeare" when we weren't even talking about Shakespeare. And Christophe also has Tourette's Syndrome, which means, and as most people might understand it, that people have tics. They often say things involuntary. Sometimes they might even have physical tics, I'm guessing. And let's see how that gives Kristoff a particular perspective that most of us can't see. And today we're going to talk about the spirit of marketing. And that's an interesting phrase that you used Kristoff. Tell us what that means to you. I think that means ultimately, like, how, how much of yourself, how human your approach to marketing is, how much you deviate from the notion that there has to be sort of a calculated approach. It's very it's a lot more human, I think. Yeah, so, for example, like I have Tourette's. ----- You were more transparent that way. And I'm wondering, have you been told that before that you appear to be more transparent with your feelings? Yeah, that's, um, that's a large, a large part of, I think, I think that's some part, at least a component of my success, is that I don't pretend to have confidence. I'm, yeah, I make no effort to false, to falsify that it doesn't it doesn't help. It doesn't help because people can see it, and then they just sort of pity you in secret. But if you, if you confront it, I feel like they can get on board with that, and they can, they can think within themselves, like, you know, what would I be doing in this situation, rather than, oh gosh, look what he's doing in this situation. You know it's, yeah, it allows, again, it allows you to be, for people to Rick, to to acknowledge your humanity, Shakespeare, Shakespeare. ----- ----more---- Your Intended Message is the podcast about how you can boost your career and business success by honing your communication skills. We'll examine the aspects of how we communicate one-to-one, one to few and one to many – plus that important conversation, one to self. In these interviews we will explore presentation skills, public speaking, conversation, persuasion, negotiation, sales conversations, marketing, team meetings, social media, branding, self talk and more. Your host is George Torok George is a specialist in communication skills. Especially presentation. He's fascinated by the links between communication and influencing behaviors. He delivers training and coaching programs to help leaders and promising professionals deliver the intended message for greater success.

Kristoff Cigars would use the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show to celebrate its 20th anniversary. As a result, the company is coming with its 20th Anniversary Cigar, the Veinte. While as excited as Kristoff is to reach the 20 year milestone, the company is looking toward the future. At last year's Trade Show, owner Glen Case announced he was doing an overhaul of the packaging and bands of his portfolio. The loose tobacco and rustic elegance that Kristoff has been associated with for two decades is being phased out. This has been replaced by a more sleek, modern look. Kristoff Vengeance is the first of the existing lines to receive the new packaging. PCA 2024 Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-ssh

He spent 7 years in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. Josh transitioned from the Navy and ran operations and business development for a manufacturing company in his hometown of Syracuse, NY. It was two years of record growth there before Josh and wife Kassandra knew they wanted to join the digital revolution and went straight to the heart of it all in San Francisco where they first met best friends and current Nomad Capital Ventures business partners, Jered & Carly DaCosta, and family. Josh's first tech job was at early-stage HomeSuite, think Airbnb for monthly furnished rentals (before Airbnb started doing it) – he ran all things automation on the supply side. His love for building automation tools saw him on to Cisco Meraki, a growth business unit powering Cisco's current strategy. He built a team of technical program managers and drove several strategic data projects across the organization. Concurrent with his time at Meraki, Josh earned his MBA from The Wharton School as a double major in Business Analytics and Joint Marketing and Operations Management. In 2020, the pandemic enabled remote work and Josh & Kass knew they would go straight to the Beaches of Jax, FL – originally their first Navy duty station and where they got engaged, now a new homebase for them and their four kids. They executed in rapid succession four deals, two syndicated, and bid farewell to their W-2's to fully focus on their business and family. As of 2023, NCV collectively has $60MM under management and their hospitality brand, Nomad Hospitality, has almost 100 listings. Josh loves the Jax communities and every aspect of their businesses, from underwriting deals, working with investors, overseeing renovations, implementing software systems, and of course delivering 5-star experiences. We take our first step out of Amaranthine toward Blackmarsh, where Grey Warden Kristoff is rumored to have disappeared. Blackmarsh is shrouded in mystery and fear–rumors of hauntings and monsters become reality as the warden moves through the marsh. Unfortunately, it's too late to rescue Kristoff. He was killed as a ploy by darkspawn to draw the Warden in and trap them in the fade. In order to escape, they must face the Baroness who long ago trapped an entire village in the fade to punish them for turning against her. With the help of a righteous spirit, they succeed–only to be dropped back into reality along with that spirit and the possessed baroness. Once we destroy her and her pride for good, the villagers can finally be free from their fade prison. Our new friend is not so lucky. He is trapped with us on the wrong side of the veil and needs guidance to figure out his next steps. Special thanks to Redd Spinks for our new amazing logo as well as to Radek Wade and Echoes of Oblivion for the song World of Thedas, which we use as our theme music. In this special episode, Sheryl's husband Daev Finn joins the show to continue our seasonal exploration of wintry themes. A psychotherapist who uses the metaphor of myth and fairy tales in his work, Daev offers his perspective on the Brothers Grimm telling of "Briar Rose" (otherwise known as "Sleeping Beauty"). Daev, Sheryl, and Victoria read the tale aloud, then share their reflections on themes of slumber, sexuality, growing up, and banishment. Daev offers perspective on the history of myths and fairytales and their problematic parts, Sheryl reflects on the treatment of powerful women in patriarchal narratives, and Victoria muses on how this tale cautions us to rethink banishing our inner "thirteenth fairy."
