Black Label Trading Company was founded by James and Angela Brown and is based out of their factory, Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua. Most cigar smokers know them well as James is one of the hottest cigar blenders around at them moment, especially from Nicaragua. In 2015, James created the Black Works Studio, or sometimes called BLK WKS, which was like a laboratory for him to experiment with different tobaccos and vitolas in a limited supply. One of the first cigars to be released from Black Works Studio was the Killer Bee. The Killer Bee was a unique cigar that had a distinctive cap. The cigar is wrapped with a luscious Connecticut Maduro wrapper from Ecaudor, but the cap also included a sliver of natural Ecuadorian Connecticut shade tobacco wrapped around it giving it the bee stripes effect. Vitola: Robusto Size: 5 x 50 Wrapper: Ecuadorian Maduro Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Country of Origin: Nicaragua Factory: Fabrica Oveja Negra Final Score: 90

Toyota development and current Venturini Motorsports driver Isabella Robusto joins Davey Segal (6:55) to discuss her unique background in motorsports and already impressive career to this point. She explains how she prepares for a race during the week and on the weekend, how she eventually won over her mom (literally) after being a bit skeptical of her racing at a young age, what it was like competing directly against her brother on track and how the progression up the ladder was for her. She also dives into the concussion she suffered at Hickory in a late model crash and the 10+ month recovery that followed, what she learned during the process and why she's an advocate for educating other female racers about the importance of head injuries, the memorable first trip to an intermediate track this season for Venturini Motorsports, why she's majoring in aerospace engineering at Arizona State while racing full-time, getting the call from Toyota to be a part of their driver development program, how she approaches being a woman in a male-dominated industry and more, including her escapades as a kicker for her high school football team, sneaker collecting hobbies, her path to eventually become a Cup Series driver and more. Davey also chats about Shane van Gisbergen's Chicago Street Course win, the success of the event in year three, looks ahead to Sonoma and Papa Segal pays homage to Tony Glover.

Ferio Tego introduced the Summa line at the 2023 PCA trade show in Las Vegas. It follows the initial limited offerings of Ferio Tego: Elegancia and Generoso. The Summa is the first core line for Ferio Tego. “The word summa means a ‘comprehensive work', a ‘summary or a synthesis of the body of work' thus far. Ferio Tego Summa is a blend that embodies the diversity and complexity of the Ferio Tego Portfolio,” explained Ferio Tego co-owner, Michael Herklots in a press release. “The Summa blend highlights the incredible trifecta of body, flavor and intensity… and maximizes those levels with wonderful balance.” Ferio Tego describes the cigar in their press release: The Ferio Tego Summa is an abundant cigar that is full flavored and full bodied with an intensity that is present, but graceful. The flavors are structured in such a way that creates a subtle but relentless crescendo of flavor and complexity without becoming overbearing. The velvety mouth feel preserves a lingering finish that skews towards a darker style of flavors but is complimented by an underlying buttery note that adds a touch of levity to the blend. Each Ferio Tego Summa vitola tells a unique version of the Summa story. The Summa was initially release in four size, but recently Ferio Tego announced the addition of a toro size. The Summa comes in a 10-ct hinged Okume box: Corona Gorda (5 3/4 x 46, $18.00 MSRP/cigar) Robusto (5 x 50, $19.00 MSRP/cigar) Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52, MSRP $20.00/cigar) Gordo (6 x 60, $21.00 MSRP/cigar) Toro (6 x 50, $19.50 MSRP/cigar) Blend Information Vitola: Corona Gorda Wrapper: Ecuadorian Corojo Binder: Ecuadorian Sumatra Filler: Nicaraguan, Dominican Country of Origin: Dominican Republic Factory: Tabacos de Exportación (TABADEX) MSRP: $18.00 Final Score: 91

Coming in at #18 on the 2024 Cigar Coop Cigar of the Year Countdown is the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario by Drew Estate. In 2018, Drew Estate celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Liga Privada brand by introducing two cigars: The 10 Aniversario and the H99 Connecticut Corojo. These two releases were groundbreaking because they incorporated uncommon wrappers from the State of Connecticut. The Liga Privada 10 Aniversario uses a Connecticut-grown Criollo wrapper, while the H99 uses a hybrid Connecticut-grown Corojo wrapper. While the cigars were unveiled in 2018, these remained extremely limited releases for nearly four years due to low yields of the wrapper. In 2023, that would change, and the 10 Aniversario and H99 Connecticut would begin to reach the market. Initially released in a Toro, Drew Estate has now expanded production of the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario to include a Robusto, which lands on this year's countdown.
