A gentle five minutes for the one in the morning hour.If you are still awake when the rest of the house has gone quiet, this whisper is for you. Ava offers a small lantern for the mind when the night feels too large, and gently reminds you that darkness does not have to be fought — only met with a steady flame.Picture a small flame, no bigger than the cup of your palm. It does not chase the shadows. It does not pretend they are not there. It simply offers itself, steady and warm, as a place your eyes can rest when your thoughts begin their quiet work of opening every door you closed during the day.You do not have to solve anything tonight. You do not have to light every lamp in the house just to prove you are awake. You only need to light one small lantern, and you only need to light it inside your chest.Settle in. A gentle five minutes for the mind that is finally allowed to stop.If today has been a day of thinking, planning, sorting, replaying — if your thoughts have been louder than your body, if you have been carrying a small list in the back of your head that you cannot quite put down — this whisper is for you. Ava walks you through a quiet landing for the tired mind and offers a small, gentle reframe: that tired things are not problems to be solved, they are invitations to be tended. You will not be asked to do anything here. Not a long breath. Not a deep breath. Not an effort to slow the thinking, or empty the head, or solve the day before you sleep. You will only be invited, very gently, to soften the jaw, soften the eyes, soften the back of the head where the day tends to gather, and to let the mind step back, just a fraction, from the work of holding everything.Notice the body underneath the thinking. The way you mend a hem on a favorite shirt. With a small needle. With patience. With your own gentle hands. There is a quiet holiness in staying with what is tender. You are not behind. Unwinding at Sharp Mountain Vineyards: A Local Gem in Our Own Backyard Howdy, neighbors! Fred Talley here from Faith Pest Control. If you've lived around Jasper or Pickens County for more than a minute, you know one of the best things about calling the North Georgia Mountains home is that you don't have to drive for hours to find world-class beauty, rich local craft, and a quiet spot to kick back with family and friends. We've got fresh air, stunning mountain views, and right down the road on Rathgeb Trail, one of my absolute favorite local treasures: Sharp Mountain Vineyards. Crafted with Precision right Here in Pickens County Now, in my line of work, I talk a whole lot about attention to detail—knowing the soil, understanding the environment, and doing things right the first time so you get quality results. The folks at Sharp Mountain Vineyards live by that exact same philosophy, just with a much sweeter outcome! Established back in 1995, Sharp Mountain Vineyards was built on a simple guiding rule: the finest wines come from the finest fruit. Sitting at an elevation of 1,600 feet on five acres of well-drained, rocky soil, the vineyard takes full advantage of sunny, west-facing slopes and crisp mountain breezes. Instead of chasing big commercial numbers, they focus on quality over quantity. Every single vine—from European Vinifera varieties to carefully tended specialty grapes—is handpicked and handcrafted in the old-world tradition. That kind of care and patience shows in every bottle they cork. Detail What You Need to Know Location 110 Rathgeb Trail, Jasper, GA 30143 Elevation & Setting 1,600 feet on 5 acres of mountain slopes Philosophy Old-world, hand-harvested, small-batch winemaking Tasting Room Hours Friday & Saturday (12:00 PM – 6:00 PM), Sunday (12:30 PM – 5:00 PM) The Perfect Weekend Porch & Picnic Spot Whether you consider yourself a wine connoisseur or just somebody looking for a relaxing afternoon, their tasting room and gift shop welcome you like old friends. One of the neatest things about visiting Sharp Mountain Vineyards is their open-air pavilion overlooking the vineyard rows and the rise of Sharp Mountain itself. You can pack your own picnic lunch, grab a bottle of estate-grown wine, sit under the shelter, and just let the stress of the workweek roll right off your shoulders. Supporting local businesses like Sharp Mountain Vineyards is what keeps our Pickens County community strong, vibrant, and unique. Next time you're planning a Friday afternoon outing or looking for something special to do over the weekend, take a drive down to Rathgeb Trail and enjoy what our mountain community has to offer! Okay, we all know vanilla has been trending for ages now, but WHY does it proveso popular? We think half the reason is the sheer diversity of vanillas available, and the incredibly high-quality materials perfumers are able to use these days.Plus the fact that vanilla continues to be one of the most universally adoredscents. Love them or loathe them, we feel sure there's truly something for everytaste (and maybe some that will surprise or even shock you) in this week'sepisode...Now, obviously, we mean five favourites *each*, we couldn't possibly containthem all to only five vanillas when there are SO many excellent varieties ofvanilla fragrances around these days. We have to say, though, f you're a vanillanaysayer, please don't shy away from this episode, as we've versions that seguefrom the just-launched and fabulously tobacco-filled, the sweetly tempting andaddictive you might expect, to the mind-blowingly modern and unlike any vanillayou've ever smelled.Encompassing hip-swivelling seduction, a stunning body butter, hugely powerfulfragrant talismans, and summery every-day wearability, there's also a trulyaffordable modern classic vanilla – created by a Master Perfumer who trained atChanel, created scents for Frederic Malle, Guerlain, Gucci, Amouage andAtkinsons, but THIS one can be snapped up for under £30!While some of our top vanillas crossed over, we also surprised each other withsome of our choices.  I recently listened to a polished speech from the new Pope. And I asked myself:Is he really connected – to his heart, to God – when he speaks?Honestly? I don't think so.So I can't believe what he says. The Problem with Polished WordsThere's an old sales saying:"Emotions sell, and data tells."When you sing, speak, or sell – you want to make an impact. And if your words come from real emotion, you connect with people. But a polished speech?Nobody is interested – not even God.C.S. Lewis on PrayerAfter the Pope's speech, I was drawn to a video by C.S. Lewis – "How to Talk to God the Right Way."His message cut through:God is not impressed by polished speeches or prayers. He rather ignores them.If you pray out of need, or let your words flow from humility – God hears you.But polished words? They are born from arrogance or pride. Both the Bible and the Quran warn:"God does not like the proud.""Pride comes before the fall."Why I Can't Repeat PrayersHonestly?I never repeat prayers – because they feel useless to me.I need to connect with God.Without that connection, I feel devastated. And then these religions come along, offering a formula to pray "the right way."They are so proud of their stupid prayers – but they never work for most people. How I Actually PrayI speak to God as my friend and helper.I want to make God happy – with the things I do, or simply with how I live.My work is my prayer.Do your best – because you do it for God.Do everything to please Him. That should be our goal. The Heart of Prayer – C.S. Lewis's Definition"Our heart should be in our prayer. Without praying out of our heart, the prayer is useless."Prayer is not to impress God.It is to reveal yourself to Him.Crafted prayers don't work. But when we pour our heart out to God – raw, real, vulnerable – He responds.Jesus in the GardenThink of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He didn't recite a polished prayer. He trembled. He sweated drops of blood. His prayer was so raw, so vulnerable – it still echoes today. How to Talk to God – A Simple GuideBased on C.S. Lewis's teaching, here's how to communicate with God:Instead of...                                 Do this...Polished, memorized prayers        Speak from your heart – your real feelingsTrying to impress God     Be humble and honest about your needRepeating formulas     Pour out your worries, fears, and desiresPraying to look good     Reveal yourself – the good, bad, and uglyUsing fancy religious language     Speak like you're talking to a close friendFinal ThoughtGod doesn't want your eloquence. He wants you – your heart, your struggle, your honesty. As Jesus showed us, real prayer is sometimes trembling, sweating, and crying out in the dark. That's the kind of prayer that never dies.My Video:  How to Communicate with the Lord? https://youtu.be/z7TH5XU3YgsMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast5/How-to-Communicate-with-the-Lord.mp3

This week on Friday Night Frightfest, we are heading deep into the Tennessee woods to kick off a brand-new multi-part retrospective series dedicated to the ultimate splatter-horror royalty! Over the next few episodes, we'll be exploring the entire Evil Dead saga—from its scrappy, low-budget origins all the way to its modern reboots. To start our franchise journey, we're pitting the raw, visceral terror of Sam Raimi's original cabin-in-the-woods shocker, The Evil Dead (1981), against its legendary, laugh-out-loud slapstick horror-comedy follow-up, Evil Dead II (1987). Strap in as we track Bruce Campbell's transformation from a mild-mannered victim into the ultimate chainsaw-wielding anti-hero! The Evil Dead (1981) Crafted on a shoestring budget by a group of young, ambitious friends in the woods of Morristown, Tennessee, The Evil Dead remains one of the most relentlessly oppressive and innovative low-budget horror films ever made. Five college students arrive at an isolated cabin where they accidentally play a reel-to-reel recording of ancient Sumerian incantations from the Naturom Demonto (the Book of the Dead). What follows is an unhinged descent into graphic, demonic terror as the unseen Kandarian Demon possesses them one by one. Driven by Raimi's frantic "shaky-cam" cinematography, Tom Sullivan's nauseating practical gore effects, and a grim, unrelenting tone, this original nightmare set the benchmark for modern survival horror. Evil Dead II (1987) Six years later, armed with a bigger budget and a wildly anarchic vision, Sam Raimi returned to the cabin to invent a whole new subgenre. Part remake recap, part escalation, Evil Dead II hits the fast-forward button on the original's setup and throws Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) into a hyper-violent, Three Stooges-style cartoon hallucination. Trapped in the cabin alone with possessed severed hands, laughing furniture, and Deadites lurking in the cellar, Ash loses his mind—and his hand—before strapping a chainsaw to his arm and rising as the "Groovy" action icon we know and love. It is a tour de force of physical comedy, buckets of multi-colored blood, and pure, joyful cinematic chaos. Join us as we dissect this foundational double feature and launch our dive into the Necronomicon lore! Spoilers start around 9:38

What a joy it was to welcome so many kids to our VBS this week! As they built, crafted, and explored together, they discovered an even greater truth from Ephesians 2:10—that each one of us has been intentionally crafted by Christ for His purposes. Throughout the week, they learned the story of Scripture: God created us to be with Him, sin separated us from Him, we could never fix that separation on our own, but Jesus came to do what we never could by dying and rising again to restore us to God. - Pastor Ben Key Verse: Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) - "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Among the unique artifacts held in the collections of the Auschwitz Memorial are fairy tales created while the camp was in operation. Crafted out of a heartfelt need, and in the hope of leaving behind a trace of their authors, these stories were smuggled out the camp. Their creators were prisoners employed in the camp's Construction Office. With the help of people on the outside, they passed these fairy tales on to their loved ones. The story behind the fairy tales from Auschwitz is told by Jadwiga Kulasza, a retired employee of the Memorial Archives, as well as family members of the authors: Felicjan Świerczyna, son of Bernard Świerczyna, and Andrzej Czulda, son of Henryk Czulda.=====Voiceovers: Greg Littlefield, Michael Takiff, Kate Weinrieb
