Dallas police are investigating after witnesses said a man approached a group of children and attempted to coerce one of them into his SUV. The incident was captured on security footage. Police are asking for the public's help in locating the man, who was driving a white Toyota 4Runner with Texas license plate number THS9209. In other news, Southwest Airlines is getting a run for its money with aggressive activist investor Elliott Investment Management, possibly landing itself in a proxy fight. The hedge fund confirmed Tuesday that it plans to nominate 10 directors to Southwest's 15-person board and call a special meeting allowing shareholders to vote on candidates. Also, to mandate or not to mandate remote workers to return to the office. And When Guy Fieri's Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives spotlighted Fort Worth restaurant Fred's Texas Cafe in 2009, it changed “everything,” said co-owner Quincy Wallace. So when Food Network came calling 15 years later, offering to film Fieri's spinoff TV show Triple D Nation at the nearly 50-year-old Fort Worth restaurant, the answer was an easy yes, Wallace said. Neal Pollack is recovering from gout but still delivers a whopper of a podcast this week, with three familiar guests and a great variety of topics. Stephen Garrett comes in to chat about the bizarre 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,' which features his new favorite scene in a movie: King Kong using Baby King Kong as a club to beat up some other super underground apes. What a weird movie this is, perfect for a 10- year-old boy, essentially a Transformers movie starring King Kong and Godzilla (and Mother!) and Dan Stevens as the world's coolest animal dentist. Not as good or as fun is '3 Body Problem' on Netflix, which guest William Schwartz describes as being about how great scientists are but not really actually caring about what science does. That sums up a big problem in our culture, and in the show, which is about a super-team of super-scientists who get together to be attractive and stop a global threat, but does not even begin to approach the philosophical depth of the Chinese novel series on which it's based. We consider this a shallow disappointment over at BFG.We talk about food on the podcast, as we often do. Robert Dean stops by to praise and also make fun of 'Guy Fieri's Tournament of Champions,' which both he and Neal find entertaining, but they also find themselves wondering: What are we doing here? Why are we watching this? No one actually has the skill to cook like this in real life? Why is cooking now a sport, and not a daily activity for nourishment? And what's with all the nicknames? We ask the important questions on the BFG podcast. Thanks for listening.

A fifth-generation Humboldt native, Frick details the advantages of exploring Redwood National Park by horseback. “Most of our guests are very awe-inspired, they use the word ‘magical' or ‘majestic,'” she says. “And on our particular trail, you're surrounded by a lot of [redwoods]. There's not just one or two, it's a whole hillside full of them.” Frick shares other options forexploring nature in Humboldt County, from hiking Fern Canyon to gondola rides in Klamath.  Finally, Johnson talks with Melissa Sanderson, publisher of The Ferndale Enterprise and owner of Humboldt's Hometown Store. Sanderson discusses the joys of running a community newspaper, Ferndale's ornate Victorian homes, and what it's like to have Guy Fieri as a landlord. “The town itself is a historical landmark,” she notes. “We have more cows than people.” Sanderson also discusses shopping and unique dining experiences in the area.

Bo and the crew talk about Bo's favorite basketball players in the 80's, how guy Fieri started to build his fortune, and how mobile quarterbacks create their own throws in the second hour of the show live in the BankPlus Studio. The guys talk about the Bad Boy Pistons and how Bill Laimbeer's style of play matched his "lumberjack" physique. The show brings on a caller interested in Bo's opinion on what Pete Golding will produce in his first year as defensive coordinator for Ole Miss. Bo breaks down the schedule and wonders if the defense can hold Auburn and Texas A&M to a reasonable score in order to win. The guys talk about how famous chef Guy Fieri began to build his fortune and used his sales skills to do so. Bo talks about a contest rock star Sammy Hagar put on for his tequila and describes how Fieri engineered his path to success. Pro Football Focus senior analyst Steve Palazzolo joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about if you can teach a QB accuracy, the role of running QB's in the NFL, and how Justin Herbert is a better QB than Dak Prescott live in the BankPlus Studio. Steve talks about the strategy the Colts are suing with Anthony Richardson and if it is better to let a young quarterback sit and gain experience or throw him into the fire and let him learn. Steve talks about how Richardson wasn't very accurate in college and Bo uses a quote from late coach Mike Leach to ask if he thinks accuracy is teachable. Steve talks about the improvements Josh Allena and Lamar Jackson made with accuracy but attributes Lamar Jackson's accuracy to his ability to create throws with his legs. Bo asks Steve if Dak needs to be more mobile in order to increase his accuracy and Steve talks about the benefits of a well-balanced quarterback in and out of the pocket. Bo asks Steve why he believes that Justin Herbert is a better QB than Dak Prescott and Steve talks about the raw talent the former Oregon Duck displays. Learn more about your ad choices. Miranda Lambert Stops Concert, Good; Guy Fieri learns food is politics Karel Cast #229 Guy Fieri was not liked by Anthony Bourdain. One reason was Bourdain thought food was the essence of politics, and that Guy's food and shows were crap. He seems to be right on all counts as Fieri learns that food is politics when it comes to who you hang out with at shows. Then, home prices soar in Canada as well as USA, could you afford a house in Vancouver? And Miranda Lambert stops a concert to chastise a fan? Who's to blame? I say, the fan. Food Network star Guy Fieri made a stop at his Winter Park restaurant Chicken Guy! on Wednesday, announcing a big expansion of the businesses footprint. The mayor of Flavortown had several pieces of business to attend to while making his visit. “I live in Northern California, I also have a house in West Palm Beach — So, I'm going to be spending a lot more time in Florida,” Fieri said. “This (Winter Park location) is the beginning of the growth. We wanted to make sure that we had this thing dialed in and really know all the ins and outs of what we're doing and how we're doing it to make sure that what we're going to give people on a national level was going to be outstanding. But we have 80 franchises that are already ready to go. It's going to go loud and fast.” Florida Foodie co-host Candace Campos was there and got the chance to talk with Fieri and his business partner Robert Earl about the franchise and its future growth. It's been nearly 15 years of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” and Guy Fieri's imprint on America's cultural landscape has reached new heights. Award-winning food writer Corby Kummer joined Boston Public Radio on Wednesday to share his thoughts on the Fieri fandom, following a recent New York Times profile of the celebrity chef. “The [New York Times] decided they were really going to celebrate Guy Fieri, and if he's raised $20 million [for restaurant workers, let's celebrate him, too,” Kummer said. During the wide-ranging interview, Kummer also shared his thoughts on Taco Bell's touring drag brunch, the discontinuation of mission-driven brand Honest Tea, and more. Kummer is executive director of the Food and Society policy program at the Aspen Institute, a senior editor at The Atlantic and a senior lecturer at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
