Oklahoma baseball coach Skip Johnson joins Graham Doty and Chris Lee for an enlightening, entertaining and sometimes hilarious conversation about his career and Sooners' baseball. Topics include: Johnson's career path in playing and coaching, which included a sting at “Anger College.” Nothing toughens players like battling rattlesnakes to retrieve foul balls! The Sooners' draft last year was an eventful one, with Kyson Witherspoon going in the first round and top recruit Eli Willits (the son of OU assistant Reggie Willits and brother of OU infielder Jaxon Willits) getting picked first overall. However, Oklahoma got a lot of quality players though the draft, headlined by high school superstar Alec Blair. Other drafted Sooners who made it to campus were Vaughn Necklar, Jaxon Grossman and Brendan Brock, while two-way player Cord Rager got through the draft and could be a key contributor this year. Johnson has two Cam Johnsons on the roster. One goes by “Camden” and is a Wichita State transfer who should help the offense, while the other is the talented pitching returnee whom Johnson said has made great strides mentally and with his control in the offseason. Two-way player Nolan Stevens transfers from Mississippi State and should help.
