Former Weber State football standout Stefan Cantwell is back at Weber State helping WSU student-athletes in a different way. Cantwell is working as a physical therapist for Sundance Physical Therapy. As part of his role, he assists Wildcat student-athletes from all WSU sports with physical therapy and injury rehabilitation. In this Wildcat All In Interview, Cantwell talks about his journey since he played at Weber State, becoming a physical therapist, what he likes about helping people with rehabilitation, working with athletes from a variety of sports, and much more. He also looks back on his Wildcat playing career including memories with teammates, memorable games, winning a championship, life after football, and his family. Cantwell played two seasons for the Weber State football team from 2016-17 and was part of one of the great Wildcat teams in school history. In his two seasons as a quarterback with the Wildcats, he threw for over 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns. He still ranks 18th in career passing yards in WSU history. As a senior in 2017, he guided Weber State to a Big Sky Championship, a record-setting 11 wins, a trip to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs, and a fifth-place ranking in the national polls. He was a team captain and threw for 2,978 yards and 25 touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 597 yards and eight more touchdowns. The Wildcats won two games in the FCS Playoffs, including a win at Southern Utah, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Playoffs for the first time in school history.

We are so excited to have our very first librarian, Laureen Cantwell-Jurkovic, on the show to discuss the impact of and potential responses to the onslaught of book challenges and bans that have exponentially increased since 2022. Dr. Cantwell-Jurkovic is head of access services and outreach at Colorado Mesa University. She has researched and published on information literacy instruction and critical thinking activism. Amelia and Kirk explore with Dr. Cantwell-Jurkovic many consequences of book bans and challenges, which have increased more than 100-fold over the past several years, including "soft censorship" and self-censorship that result from the large administrative burden that results from responding to thousands of challenges, even when a particular book is ultimately not banned outright. Dr. Cantwell-Jurkovic walks us through how local activities at the level of school districts and municipalities ultimately influence policies at the county, state and even potentially national level. She emphasized the danger of these limitations which can come from people on all parts of the political spectrum. She then explored the unique properties of books, which have a special ability to build empathy through reading fiction, and Kirk explored how lack of access to books could have downstream effects when healthcare professionals are not exposed to diverse narratives as children. Finally, the importance of protecting libraries and books at the local level was highlighted.Being a librarian, Dr. Cantwell-Jurkovic shared many resources with us. Nytorgsmannen åtalades i november 2021 för över 23 fall av våldtäkt och dömdes sedan till fem års fängelse. I våras blev mannen villkorligt frigiven efter att ha avtjänat två tredjedelar av straffet, trots att man bedömde att risken att han skulle återfalla i brott var hög.
