Yes, it is The Comedy Bureau Field Report's 100th Episode. This podcast started at the beginning of the pandemic and the pandemic has been going on this damn long. That said, it's quite the milestone and, as such, we have Yemi Afolabi, a comedian who TCB's Jake Kroeger started out with back at the turn of the decade to the 2010s, who has had an astounding journey himself going from finding himself in some corner of comedy in LA to gaining real heat doing stand-up in Sweden (often in Swedish/English hybrid known as Swenglish) and then coming back to NYC to focus in on climbing the ladder in the endlessly competitive NYC comedy scene. Yemi talks all about that and more as well as "hot" takes on Aziz Ansari/Bill Murray's latest feature project, the passing of Amazing Jonathan, and more. Follow Yemi @yemicomedy and Hot & Bothered at @hotandbothered.comedy on IG The Comedy Bureau @thecomedybureau across platforms and please, please support TCB via GoFundMe, Patreon, or on Venmo (@jakekroeger). Welcome to Master in Music the musical podcast where I Petronella Torin tries to resolve the magic behind really great music. I like to invite you to a little backstage tour in some of my episodes. We will meet five quite different musicians and hear some of their experience with creating fantastic music. we start the tour with a famous Ulf Wandenbrandt, then we dive into the life of solo Cellist Niels Ullner followed by the singing professor Gun-britt Gustavsson and ending up with three swinging singing Hebbe Sisters. A sneak-peek into the normally very secretive lives of musician and their way of making music. .bmc-button img{width: 35px !important;margin-bottom: 1px !important;box-shadow: none !important;border: none !important;vertical-align: middle !important;}.bmc-button{padding: 7px 10px 7px 10px !important;line-height: 35px !important;height:51px !important;min-width:217px !important;text-decoration: none !important;display:inline-flex !important;color:#000000 !important;background-color:#FFDD00 !important;border-radius: 5px !important;border: 1px solid transparent !important;padding: 7px 10px 7px 10px !important;font-size: 22px !important;letter-spacing: 0.6px !important;box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px rgba(190, 190, 190, 0.5) !important;-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px 0px rgba(190, 190, 190, 0.5) !important;margin: 0 auto !important;font-family:'Cookie', cursive !important;-webkit-box-sizing: border-box !important;box-sizing: border-box !important;-o-transition: 0.3s all linear !important;-webkit-transition: 0.3s all linear !important;-moz-transition: 0.3s all linear !important;-ms-transition: 0.3s all linear !important;transition: 0.3s all linear !important;}.bmc-button:hover, .bmc-button:active, .bmc-button:focus {-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px 0px rgba(190, 190, 190, 0.5) !important;text-decoration: none !important;box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px 0px rgba(190, 190, 190, 0.5) !important;opacity: 0.85 !important;color:#000000 !important;}Buy me a coffee Let me introduce Ulf Wadenbrandt, he went from local drum teacher to international rock conductor for The Band ARIA to becoming the Principal guest conductor for the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra. He is known for being an energy explosion on stage and you have never seen a conductor head-banging as he does. Let’s listen to what he has to say about getting a sponsor as a musician. Now we are going to hear a clip from my personal cello hero Professor and Solo cellist Niels Ullner. He has been a principal cellist for 34 years in Malmö symphony orchestra in Sweden and is known for educating some of the finest cellists at the National academy of Denmark. Now we dive into a part where I try to find out how to win a job in an orchestra and what makes a good team. We are taking a trip into the deep forest of Sweden to a magical meadow where Singing professor Gunbritt Gustavsson lives. She is a singing lector at the royal academy in Stockholm and a widespread singing profile in Sweden known for her fantastic powerful voice. We talk on our best Swenglish about the importance of simplicity and being natural and the importance of breathing. To end our tour, we take a tour to the swinging singing Hebbe sisters and dive into this Swedish trio that has taken swing music to a new international level. We will talk with Josefine, Maria and Emelie about the benefits of having parents that are musicians and about how their musical journey began. .bmc-button img{width: 35px !important;margin-bottom: 1px !important;box-shadow: none !important;border: none !important;vertical-align: middle !important;}.bmc-button{padding: 7px 10px 7px 10px !important;line-height: 35px !important;height:51px !important;min-width:217px !important;text-decoration: none !important;display:inline-flex !important;color:#000000 !important;background-color:#FFDD00 !important;border-radius: 5px !important;border: 1px solid transparent !

learn the meaning of Swenglish
My guest this week has a list of qualifications as long as my arm to be the perfect guest on Fluently Swenglish… Those qualifications include being an English teacher, a scholar of religious education, a devoted husband, father to three teenage girls and a self-confessed poker shark…This gentlemen also has another member of the family that plays an important part of his somewhat Swenglish life style here in Malmö. A trusty four legged friend receives a long walk every evening so he can listen to the Uk’s longest running radio soap opera on BBC Radio 4… The Archers. Mr John Rouse Esq, has lived in Malmö near on 20 years now, moving here from the hustle and bustle of U.K.'s capital city London, the contrast couldn't be more apparent but life in Malmo suits John perfectly. Another reason I felt the urge to have John on my podcast was because we had a similar upbringing, we were both brought up in military families and lived a childhood un-like many others might of experienced. I find him an encyclopaedia of knowledge but most of all I admire John’s ability to tell a great story, everyone knows I have a soft spot for a good storyteller. This fact was proven when I asked them who he would most like to have as a lunch guest, after a short silence John told me of a relative of a relative he had back a few 100 years ago. This ancestor was the keeper of a library somewhere in England, I thought that was a great story then he impressed me even more on explaining this ancestral scholar had refused to loan a book to the king of England.
