Matt and Ryan had pleased beer hearts, beers that might be worth taking a shuttle up a hill for, smelling another man's hanging wood, Manos the Hands of Fate, and not having any visual proof of a 5-star beer. Blake Blake conversations! Dan from Gravel Road and his astounding beer history, which lead to a conversation about how to get to the beer sphere or the beer bean. Gnome refuses to allow Gravel Road to get a canning line. Marco made beers before Dan, which means Marco made beers first. Another Blake Blake convo was held with Fabled Brew Works, even though Blake refused to introduce his guest outside of the show notes. Does Fabled have someone come to them to give all the employees haircuts? Habanero is probably the perfect pepper for making beers and meads spicy. Is it a bad idea to have a local barrel aged beerfest?  The Weekly Pint from this past Monday could still be killing Gnome. Some poisons are very slow acting. But it's all worth it for science. Little beers can mean either small format or small ABVs. Is the uptick of light lagers and pilsners, even if made locally, a good thing?  Gnome proved that Bret and Mike did NOT have the last bottle of Anchor Steam. All the drinks were cuveed, and as expected, it was not great. Barstool Perspective had Mike yelling about lots of things. Bret brandished his guns. Do people actually want the Sam Adams Historical Mix Pack? Are people really going to be fooled by James Watt again? They can't find bootstraps to pull themselves up with so they'll never be rich.     There are two meetings today to move forward on the Royals building a new stadium at Crown Center and we are getting a lot more details of what that district will look like by 2030.  The Parks and Rec board will vote to give the city manager authority to negotiate a lease with the team while the City Council meets to set up a schedule to move forward to approval of $600 million.  It's feeling like go time!    Kansas governor Laura (Karen) Kelly used her veto 25 times this legislative session but the good news is a whole bunch of them were overridden by a supermajority.  Good news... the protests at public schools are about to go away as we've known them.    Eric Swalwell's fall from grace has been years in the making, but, holy smokes is this getting ugly.  There's video everywhere... so much so it's like watching Hunter Biden all over again.      After Trump blocked the shipping ports in Iran, ships all over the world are headed to the Gulf of America.  It's incredible.  At least 125 empty ships are headed here to fill up 2 million barrels ON EACH SHIP.  Yes, that's $200 million worth of oil we are selling to 120 more ships.    When I saw the photo of the charred and pretty much destroyed Orion capsule our astronauts returned home in, I only asked one question.  You may be asking the same thing.    Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice posts the most hilarious post in Chiefs history as he suggests he will be looking for a new contract that pays him like he's the number one receiver in the NFL.  This dude has issues.    FIFA is working another bait and switch on tickets and Arrowhead and nobody can do anything about it.  Governor Kehoe is sending the National Guard and State Troopers to KC for the World Cup and I missed quite a chance to buy a piece of expensive memorabilia for a song a decade ago.

Today's guest is Danielle Sepsy, baker and founder of The Hungry Gnome, a New York–based wholesale bakery. Danielle has become known as “The Scone Queen” and was a contestant on Dan Levy's culinary competition show, “The Big Brunch.” She's also the author of the upcoming baking book, “The Scone Queen Bakes: 100 Recipes for Scones, Muffins, Cookies, and Cakes from the Founder of The Hungry Gnome.” Danielle joins host Jessie Sheehan to talk about growing up in a big Italian family on Long Island and baking alongside her grandmother. She shares how receiving a stand mixer (and a Martha Stewart Living subscription) at eight years old fueled her love for baking and led her to start a scone business as a teenager. They also discuss the early days of The Hungry Gnome and what it was like to compete on TV. Then, the duo walk through Danielle's signature chocolate chip scone recipe.
