Touching Jesus Christ- Bro Mike Glover Mark 5 & 10
Podcast: Light on Life Season Twelve Episode Fifteen. Gospel writers record several incidents where Jesus touched people and other accounts where it went the other way. Now, touching Jesus is what our focal point is today. Whenever the Master touched someone, miracles followed. Physical touch is vital; studies show its absence can be life-threatening. We need human contact. Many years ago in hospital […] The post Simple Keys To Touching Jesus For Miracles appeared first on emeryhorvath.com. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome, dear friends, to another enlightening journey through the Bible on the Daily Radio Bible podcast. Today marks the 57th day in our year-long biblical exploration. I'm Hunter, your host, and bible reading coach, thrilled to share this moment with you as we dive into the sacred texts. Our journey today takes us into several passages: Numbers 19 and 20, Psalm 28, and the profound narratives of Mark chapter 5. Together, we gather to be inspired, strengthened, and moved by the living word of God. Our aim is not just to read, but to encounter the presence of Jesus, to warm our hearts by the fires of his love, and to be transformed by his teachings. So settle in and open your heart as we explore how these ancient scriptures resonate with our lives today. Let's discover the profound love story within, one that stops the bleeding of our souls and resurrects our spirits into new life. Join us as we invite you into a deeper understanding and embrace of God's redeeming l TODAY'S DEVOTION: A man named Jairus, a synagogue ruler, falls on his knees before Jesus and begs him, please come. Put your hands on my girl. She's 12 years old. So that she will be healed and live. Mark tells of another person who's reaching out her hands. He doesn't give us her name. This unnamed woman has been waiting, bleeding, for twelve long years. Everything she has spent is gone. Everything she has has been spent. Every possible option has been exhausted. And she's dying too. She needs Jesus to reach out his hands and touch her. Jesus responds to both of them. The prominent man, Jairus, and the unnamed woman. He's there for them both. He's there to do what he set out to do. To reach out his hands of compassion, and stop the bleeding. To stop death. And he's going to do it, by pouring out his own blood and offering up his own life, so that all people everywhere, the somebodies and the nobodies, will know his redeeming love. He sees you today. He's reaching out his hands to you today in love. He's coming into your home. He's taking you by the hand. And he's speaking words of life. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. An episode from Liberty Behind Bars Ministry, a ministry serving the incarcerated across America located in Belfast, New York. The Scriptures : We believe that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” 2nd Timothy 3:16 by which we understand that the whole Bible “came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2nd Peter 1:21. The Scriptures, originally recorded by Spirit led men, have been faithfully translated and preserved in our English Language. We believe the Authorized Version (A.V. 1611) is infallible and selfless: our final authority for all matters of faith and practice. Christ's Advent: We believe that the eternal Son of God came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Ghost, received a human body, and a sinless nature. Salvation: We believe that, owing to death through sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again. This redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made to be sin, dying in our stead, and that He was bodily and physically raised from the dead for our justification. We believe that the new birth of the believer is an act of the Holy Ghost and comes only through individual faith in Christ. The Church: We believe that God has ordained that through the local church the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to be spread and that it is the duty of everyone who is born again to seek out a local fellowship for the furtherance of the Gospel and his own edification. I spent half of my life in and out of jails, prisons, rehabs, and other facilities. Unfortunately, the programs that were offered did not help me to become a productive member of society, it just made me a better inmate. What changed me, was a new life in Jesus Christ and reading/studying a King James Bible. Many prisons, jails, and other institutions have heard from many of their inmates that they are changed due to religion. However, most are seen back within the next year or two. As God gave Moses a burden for the Children of Israel, so God gave me a burden for those in jails and prisons. Churches send missionaries to foreign countries, in support, hopes and prayers, they can win the nationals to Jesus, train them and then send the nationals back to their own people. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own people This is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in. Not only do we minister to those behind the jail walls we help them transition into society; differently than they did in the past. The goal is to break the cycle of recidicism and help people have a changed life in Jesus Christ. I have my Doctorate in Christian Biblical Counseling and use this knowledge to not only help those within the jail/prison walls, but also to support their family members. Some of us aren't sure if Jesus can really heal. Others of us might be afraid to bother Him. But Jesus wants us all to come to Him. Through the faith-filled actions of a religious leader and a chronically ill woman, we see how God honors every kind of faith—even when it isn't perfect. May we have the bold faith to touch Jesus and let Him touch us.
Pastor Ricky Gravley- A sermon preached Sunday Evening, on September 22, 2024.
The tradition of the elders stood opposed to the ministry of Jesus, and it stands opposed to his power today as well. We have different traditions but they often serve not the mind of the Lord, but the forces of darkness and are the cause of much suffering. We need to look at these traditions of our day, and when necessary, be done with them in favor of the power of Christ.

Disclosure: There is an audio issue in the back half of the recording. The last section of Mark 6 maps our the last two months of Jesus' 2nd year of public ministry. He can no longer keep his fame at bay. Word is out and Jesus is swamped & surrounded...with the sick, lame, blind, & possessed. They come hopeless and leave hope filled. Saving Faith makes all the difference.
