We Are Loved!Ephesians 1:1-23What does enough love look like?1. We are the kind of people who God chooses. (Ephesians 1:5,9)2. We are the kind of people who God sets free. (Ephesians 1:6,12,14)3. We are the kind of people who God grows. (Ephesians 1:8, 17-18)Next Steps: Reflect on these truths.1. When Paul prays for the Ephesian church, he does not pray for an improvement in the external circumstances. Rather, Paul prays for a profound internal knowledge of the depths of God's love. ~Timothy Keller2. God loves you!Ephesians 1:1-141 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the rich-es of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.Support the show (https://pushpay.com/g/cedarhillscr)
We’re back with guest Phyllis DiNardi, a Manalapan resident who began a non-profit called “We Are Loved”. We Are Loved came from the lack of support, empathy and communication that was pevalent within the foster care system. To donate, visit Weareloved.info.
This week on Around Ocean County, our guest is Phyllis DiNardi, a Manalapan resident who, along with her husband, has fostered 49 children in the past four years. Phyllis saw a need for teaching life skills and basic knowledge of finances, cooking, etc, so she began a non-profit called “We Are Loved”. The mission of We Are Loved is to empower foster children and families by providing a safe and loving space where every resource parent and/or foster child has the opportunity to flourish and they create an environment based on empathy, education, new experiences and Love.

Today’s Text: Mark 1:9-11 One of the most shocking contradictions in Jesus-followers is the intense dislike many have for themselves. They are more displeased, impatient, irritated, unforgiving, and spiteful with their own shortcomings than they would ever dream of being with someone else. - Brennan Manning Sometimes the biggest barrier to loving people is the vague sense that we are unlovable. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, God has spoken once and for all that WE ARE LOVED. The royal law of love invites me to freely do for others as I would for myself, WITHOUT QUALIFICATION. For Further Discussion Read Mark 1:9-11. Why do you think God chooses to address Jesus with these words? What might you expect him to say in this moment? Do you think Jesus’ command “to love others as yourself” is an implicit command for self-love? Explain your answer. What are some things you naturally do for yourself that you’d hesitate to do for another?
