This episode of All Ways Wright touches on a fun yet taboo topic, pornography! We discuss how we were introduced to porn, our category preferences, favorite stars, and favorite scenes. We also touch on the social aspects of this industry as we dive into discussions about sex work and the prevalence of “revenge porn”. Ever recorded a lengthy episode and then thought you lost the audio? Painful, yes. This was us in November. The good news is, we were actually able to retrieve it, and now here we are. In this episode, we discussed the ins and outs, ups and downs of romantic relationships. We touched on areas for improvement for marriage, shared a little about the obstacles we faced and the tools we are using to strengthen our union, and why we don’t particularly like the term “Relationship Goals.”
Join us for the third installment of “My Brother, My Sister”, a series where we discuss some of the common issues between women and men in the black community. You can find parts one and two of this series on the Coolbrother Podcast hosted by Malik Long and the Therefore Noire podcast hosted by Liz Daymon respectively. Both hosts join us for this conversation along with our dear friend, Aaron Robinson. We are also joined by another of our friends, Lakenya Tam, who offered some insight on the topic from a clinical perspective.
Connecting the Diaspora Part 1: This episode is part 1 of a series we are launching this Black History Month. The series focuses on the importance of unity between groups of Black people across the diaspora. In this episode, we share a little about how our cultural differences have come to play in our relationship and how we came to outgrow certain mindsets. We are also joined by reoccurring guest and friend of ours, Liz Daymon of the Therefore Noire podcast, as well as our brother-in-law and recent Brooklyn College graduate, Alassane Diop. Alassane and Liz shared their experiences about growing up in the United States and navigating this country as Haitian, Senegalese, and Congolese immigrants/descendants. We discuss the xenophobia and stereotypes faced within the community while brainstorming ways to strengthen unity within the Black community.
In this episode we're joined by Liz Daymon, of the Therefore Noire podcast, and her husband, musical artist Marquis Daymon aka RichWriter. We recall our earliest examples of “black love,” if any, and define “healthy” as it applies to romantic relationships. We then discuss the significance of seeking healing from childhood traumas in efforts to break generational cycles and apply the knowledge we have gained to our parenting. The therapy resources that we shared in this episode are listed below. https://thelovelandfoundation.org/ https://borislhensonfoundation.org/ https://therapyforblackgirls.com/ Follow @Healingwhileblack on Instagram for more helpful mental health resources
We’re back! Join us as we kick off season 3 with a very special member of the Wright family, our uncle. We also get very intimate as we share childhood stories and recall the early stages of our relationship.
Episode 0: Join us as we attempt to record the first episode of Season 3. This episode shows exactly what happens when your business partner is also your lover and very best friend. Sometimes, it’s quite hard to focus between the jokes and “bedroom eyes”, as evidenced by this silly attempt of an episode. An episode literally about nothing. Okay, it’s about something. Ever “flicked the bean” at work? TMI? Not for us it ain’t. Click “play” to hear us talk our shit, our favorite thing to do.
