Allego, M.D." When Kevin Lagunda was in kindergarten in the mid-1990s, he saw a chart showing images of persons in different professions. Since the start of lockdowns imposed by the government to stem the tide of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lagunda has been dreaming of undecipherable riddles in Cebuano language. The short poem he reads here is titled, "Tigmo Alang Kang Melquiadito M. Allego, M.D." The poem, a riddle in a quatrain, is Lagunda's tribute to the indomitable poetic spirit of the man known to the young writers as Nyor Mel, the founder of Bathalad Cebu.
