Ab und zu fahre ich auf der A 52 im Bereich der Auffahrt Mönchengladbach-Nord. Während der Fahrt musste ich dort schon wiederholt telefonieren. Doch kurz vor der Auffahrt gibt es ein Funkloch: gerade noch klarer Empfang, und von jetzt auf gleich Funkstille. Wichtige Gespräche werden einfach abgeschnitten. Ob ich will oder nicht, ich erreiche meinen Gesprächspartner nicht. Mittlerweile weiß ich das schon und versuche es dort erst gar nicht mehr.Der Mann, der die Worte des Tagesverses gesprochen hat, befand sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt in einer Situation, in der man auch nicht mit gutem Empfang rechnen konnte: Er war mitten auf hoher See während eines gewaltigen Sturmes aus einem sinkenden Schiff in das tosende Meer geworfen worden. Und damit nicht genug: Er war von einem großen Fisch verschlungen worden und in dessen Bauch in die Tiefen des Mittelmeeres abgetaucht. Von dort unten hätte wohl auch bei modernster Netzabdeckung niemand eine Verbindung herstellen können. Hinzu kam, dass dieser Mann, Jona, völlig selbstverschuldet in diese Situation gekommen war. Anstatt das zu tun, womit Gott ihn ausdrücklich beauftragt hatte, flüchtete er vor Gott. Würde er jemals noch eine Chance haben, mit Gott verbunden zu werden?Wir Menschen neigen dazu, andere, die sich gegen uns gestellt haben, eigene Wege gegangen sind und nun in der Klemme stecken, zu ignorieren. Soll er doch sehen, wo er bleibt! Aber bei Gott ist das anders. Gott benutzt diese scheinbar ausweglose Lage, um Jona zur Besinnung zu bringen. Und obgleich von dort unten, aus dem Fisch, jede Kontaktaufnahme unmöglich erscheint, hört Gott doch ganz genau auf das Gebet dieses Mannes. Der Fall Jona Neidhard sorgt schweizweit für Kontroversen. Der 38-jährige Zürcher reiste mehrfach in die Ukraine, schloss sich der Internationalen Legion an und kämpfte in der 3. Sturmbrigade an der Front. Nun ermittelt die Schweizer Militärjustiz gegen ihn – wegen fremdem Militärdienst, möglicherweise auch wegen Verstössen gegen das Kriegsvölkerrecht. Ein ungewöhnlicher Fall, der Fragen zur Schweizer Neutralität, zu moralischer Verantwortung und zum Umgang mit freiwilligen Kriegsteilnehmern aufwirft.Neidhart beschreibt seine Einsätze als defensive Fronttätigkeit in Bunkern und Erdhöhlen. Doch seine Aussagen in neuen Einvernahmeprotokollen sind brisant: Er schildert, wie er und seine Kameraden verwundete russische Soldaten suchten und ausschalteten. Ein Australier habe 30 Schüsse auf einen am Boden liegenden Russen abgegeben; Neidhard selbst habe anschliessend einen Kopfschuss abgefeuert, um «sicherzugehen». Solche Aussagen bewegen sich im Grenzbereich des Kriegsvölkerrechts – und belasten ihn nun zusätzlich.Dass diese Protokolle als Video- und Tonaufnahmen öffentlich wurden, ist äusserst selten. Doch Neidhart sucht bewusst die Öffentlichkeit. Er will eine Debatte anstossen: über Neutralität, Moral und die Frage, ob es falsch sei, einem überfallenen Land zu helfen. Aus seiner Sicht sei Nichtstun unmoralisch. Die Schweiz solle ihr Gesetz über fremden Militärdienst überdenken.Persönlich wirkt Neidhart wie ein Mann, der lange nach Sinn suchte. Hochbegabt, aber ohne klaren beruflichen Weg, fand er erst im Krieg und der politischen Auseinandersetzung eine Rolle, für die er brennt. Gleichzeitig bleiben viele Aspekte unklar. Wie glaubwürdig sind seine Aussagen? Was ist belegbar? Und welche Teile seines Handelns lassen sich juristisch fassen?Die Militärjustiz ermittelt derzeit in rund zehn weiteren Fällen von Schweizern, die in der Ukraine gekämpft haben sollen. Der Fall Neidhart ist jedoch der prominenteste – auch weil er sich selbst gestellt hat und den Medien offen begegnet. Nun wird entschieden, ob die Bundesanwaltschaft die Untersuchung übernimmt. Kommt es zu einem Prozess, dürfte der Fall weit über die Schweiz hinaus Beachtung finden: als exemplarischer Konflikt von individueller Moral, staatlicher Neutralität und den Grenzen des Völkerrechts. Jeder Mensch stellt sich irgendwann die Frage: Wozu bin ich eigentlich hier? Die Bibel zeigt uns, dass Berufung nicht nur für Pastoren oder Menschen im vollzeitlichen Dienst gedacht ist, sondern für alle, die Jesus nachfolgen. Gott hat jeden von uns geschaffen mit Gaben, Aufgaben und einer Sendung. In dieser Predigtserie entdecken wir anhand von biblischen Persönlichkeiten, was es bedeutet, von Gott berufen zu sein. Abraham erinnert uns daran, dass wir gesegnet sind, um ein Segen zu sein. Mose zeigt uns, wie Gott uns ruft, Menschen aus Gefangenschaft in Freiheit zu führen. Jona macht deutlich, dass unsere Berufung immer auch mit Mission und anderen Menschen zu tun hat. Und schon Adam und Eva wurden berufen, Verantwortung für die Welt zu übernehmen. Ob deine Berufung im Geben, im Leiten, im Ermutigen oder im praktischen Anpacken liegt – Gott hat dir etwas anvertraut, das die Welt verändert. Wir laden dich ein, dich auf diesen Weg einzulassen und neu zu entdecken: Deine Berufung ist kein Zufall, sondern ein Teil von Gottes großem Plan.
