Two complete clods, nattering about all of the games they play way too much of.
Hi! After a bit of a "rest" we're back with episode 5, which is all about Sony PlayStation, and how it's done over the nearly a year since the launch of the PS5. In this episode, we noodle around Sony's acquisitions, the apparent risk-averse stance they've been taking, and dream about a game industry free of Uncle Jim. Of course, in between recording and me getting off my butt to edit, some news happened. Just remember, we actually predicted some of these things, it's just that I was too lazy to get the episode out in time. Because "resting". Don't forget to check us out on Twitter. We're @ClodOfWar over there. Here's Christi's latest sim-racing video too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV8R8dJ33A4&t=31s CREDITS: This podcast was produced by Dan Densley and Edited by Christi MacPherson. We're continuing our new format for Season 3. Episode 4 is all about Game Pass, the Xbox game subscription service that could change the way we consume games forever. In this episode, we try to divine all possible futures and take a peek at how it could affect the games we love, both positively and negatively. We also cast an eye on the other competitors in the space and offer unsolicited advice about how we feel they should proceed ;) Don't forget to check us out on Twitter. We're @ClodOfWar over there. E3 2021 means we're veering slightly from the new format to talk at length about what we thought of everything we saw at E3. It's fair to say it wasn't the event's finest year but there were still some interesting developments in there. We also ask the question "Is E3 Dead Now?". Some folk may not like our conclusion ;) CREDITS: This podcast was produced by Dan Densley and Edited by Christi MacPherson. We're continuing our new format for Season 3. This time around Dan and Christi go in for a deep dive into the past, present, and possible futures of VR. BONUS EPISODE The hardest thing about making this piece, by far, was hitting the publish button. NOTE: There's also a video version of this if you'd rather just listen. Just follow the link to our YouTube channel here. ---------- A year ago I made a fairly biographical piece about finding sim-racing and how it helped through the beginning of lockdown. I also touched on my father's life as a racer and how I felt about sim racing through that lens. This is a follow-up video, one year on. In it, I talk about how wonderful it's been to dive deeper into sim racing over the last 12 months and - bizarrely - how it's helped me deal with something I've struggled with for 19 years; the loss of my father, and how that tinged my enjoyment of motorsport. The past 12 months (13 months really, as the video was made one month into my journey) have been great. I truly believe that sim-racing is an incredible hobby, even a vocation. It's helped put me back in touch, in a way, with memories of my dad, in a pain-free way; and for that, I'm eternally grateful. It's the beginning of Season 3 and as Dan and Christi return they change up the format a little. Ok it's a few days late but I had Xmas to do ok? It's the end of one of the crappier years in living memory, but gaming kept us going. Join Dan and Christi as they finish season 2 with another long one. I'm thinking we're congenitally incapable of keeping it brief, so maybe 90 minutes is the target we should stick to. An hour seems impossible! This episode we talk about! The new gen! It's here! It's ace! Nobody can get one!! What's coming next, after The Game Awards (without the awards bit)! What ON EARTH happened to Cyberpunk?! Random gibberish! We'll be back in February with Season 3, after a well-earned break during the traditional gaming lull that is the new year. On that note, we hope you've had a great Xmas and have a wonderful new year. May it be better for all of us. See you in 2021! Note: a couple of news items broke after recording that change things a little. Sony fixed their PS4/PS5 game identification issue for one thing. I've left these unedited as it's a record of what things were like at launch though. -Christi You can see the fruits of Christi's creative boredom at our Youtube channel Please do say "hi!" over there! It's nearly next gen time, so why on earth is Christi grumbling so much? Find out what bugged him about the games news this month. And find out why Dan is so excited! This episode we talk about! Sony UI! Party Chat! Amazon! How amazing NoClip is! Hades! VR exercise! Christi keeps going on and on about DLSS! Dan and Christi demonstrate how to tough it is to be an aging bloke with a fading memory! On that note, in the podcast Christi briefly mentions Lors of the Rings... he meant The Hobbit okay? Hello dear listener! We've fixed our audio, so much better than last month! Things be crazy in the gaming world this month. We yet again delayed in case Gamescom delivered some big news to no avail, and then just hours after we recorded and before I edited, MS dropped the motherload on us. I've updated the episode, but y'know some of it will now be valuable only to gaming historians centuries hence, as a record of how much we whined about Sony and Microsoft playing chicken. That said, it's still a good 'un and hopefully worth your time! We've got Gamescom and MS Flight Sim and a whole bunch of other stuff to drench your ears with this month! Before we start let us apologise right now for the audio quality. We both had some quite spectacular tech issues which led to us having to apply ungodly amounts of noise reduction. This led to Dan, who already had his head in a bucket, also sounding like he was underwater. We'll try to resolve this for the next one, promise. However, it's worth persevering because we have a LOT of good stuff in this one. Like what are Microsoft really playing at here. Where does this leave us with SONY; And is Christi still playing games like he has NO attention span (YES). Also, what's going to be worth your time next month? All that and more rubbish besides. Join us as we delve into the most interesting developments in games in YEARS. You can see the fruits of Christi's creative boredom at our Youtube channel Please do say "hi!" over there! It's the (late, we know) February 2020 episode! Season 2 Episode 3. Including: The impact of the current health crisis on gaming. What we’re playing. Hunt: Showdown. Bloodroot. Next-gen rumours and shenanigans. Note: This is now a re-edited version of the original upload. Welcome to the 4th full episode of Clod of War! The podcast for that subset of the human population who love video games AND who are arthritic buffoons. This time around Dan, Ian and Christi get to grips with the good, the bad and the ugly of free to play. We wax lyrical about Warframe and PS Now, rejoice at the return of Shuhei, and Ian gets a bit "funny" about Demon Gaze ( although to be fair he's more interested in the dungeon crawling). If you're listening on the Anchor FM app then don't forget you can send us some lovely applause and even better, voice messages. If they''re interesting or entertaining enough, we might even include them in the next episode! Our excellent theme tune, "Pixel Party" Music is by Eric Matyas, www.soundimage.org

In this sidecast, Ian quizzes his nipper over the ins and outs of Jurassic World Evolution, raising cool dinosaurs, balancing their needs with the visitor ratings and ticket sales - and planning for safety whilst being able to react to problems arising. Jump in the jeep, and be chased by the spectre of the T-Rex of the Fatherly Inquisition! Music by Erik Matyas, soundimage.org

Welcome to the latest episode of Clod of War! The podcast for that subset of the human population who love games AND who are arthritic buffoons. This time around Ian, Dan and Christi devour the promise of what's to come. Including: What's happening with cross-platform play? Eh, SONY? Rumours abound about PS Now. Where the heck has Shuhei Yoshida gone? Where the heck has Dave Jones gone? When and what is the next gen? And a little bit of chat about the games we love right now, including Ian's foray into Conan Exiles. Welcome to the latest episode of Clod of War! The podcast for that subset of the human population who love games AND who are arthritic buffoons. This time round Ian, Dan and Christi pick over the carcass of the rest of E3 2018. Could Sony and Nintendo provide an answer to the surprisingly strong Microsoft conference? It should be no surprise that our three hopeless chumps have some fairly strong opinions on the matter. We'll be aiming to produce a new episode every two weeks from now on; at least until the next big conference rears its noggin.
Welcome to the very first Episode of the Clod of War podcast! The podcast for that subset of the human population who love games AND who are arthritic buffoons. This time round Ian, Dan and Christi mostly look at the start of e3 and pick the bones of the Microsoft conference clean of all the info they found interesting. Plus, they chat about the games they're currently digging to round things off. Our excellent theme tune, "Pixel Party" Music is by Eric Matyas, www.soundimage.org P.S. apologies for munging Crackdown into Crackdown 3. Christi was rusty. :)
