On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc shoots and shoots and shoots some more through the deserts, towns, and tombs of Strange Brigade, a cooperative third-person shooter where you and up to three other players do your best to stop the evil queen, Seteki, from taking over the world, or some crap like that. Strange Brigade originally came out on August 28th, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’s also available on Google Stadia, but, come on, does anyone actually care about Stadia? Anyway, something-something overlong and where have all flowers gone, cheers and enjoy the show. If you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the plentiful podcasts, the various videos, the absurd art, and all of the other nonsensical nonsense we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. As always, thanks for being a fan.

Hello and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this episode we provide an overview and our thoughts on the returning Days of Play sale currently ongoing on the PS Store, discuss even more glitched trophy lists (Mafia II Definitive Edition), and complain about YouTube demonetization. After all that juicy goodness we get into our current Trophy hunts and what we've been playing. Standout games from our recent weeks include, The Deadly Tower of Monsters, Outlast 1 + 2, and Nier Automata. The gang is continuing to make our way through Strange Brigade, a game we all seem to be enjoying more as time goes on. Hopefully that Platinum will be achieved by Episode 9 and the crew will jump into one of many options in the FPS genre. Thanks to everyone for listening and for your support! Until next time, take care, and Happy Hunting! =)

In this episode I have Sergei Evdokimov, an investment associate at Mail.ru Games Ventures. We talk about Gaming acquisitions and investments Q1 2020. Interesting to hear that Investors and funds pumped more than $700 million game startups in the first quarter. The volume of game merger and acquisition deals was $1.6 billion in the first quarter, compared to only $1 billion for the full six months of the first half of 2019. That was driven by big deals such as Scopely’s acquisition of FoxNext. Meanwhile, the first quarter investment amount of $700 million was down about 2.7 times from $3.8 billion in the first half of 2019 — where we can assume the average was $1.9 billion per quarter. Sergei's Telegram channel: https://t.me/InvestGame/ Sergei's Blog at Medium: https://medium.com/@SEgames Furtheron Chris Reed with Reed Thinks about esports, Joakim Achren with high gaming highlights of this week. Also the latest interesting game news from Gamesbeat.com, GamesIndustry.biz and Pockgamer.biz. Special thanks to Justin Berenbaum of noticing that GamesCom2020 is not happening this year. Also thanks to Ekrem Shahin, who wrote a post about Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion, proactively reached out to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to offer Coronavirus safety advice within their titles - Rebellion is now displaying an on screen safety message before gameplay begins within its Strange Brigade and Sniper Elite titles. DCMS has now invited the UK's 2,000+ other games companies to join this national effort. Next week wednesday more financials when I discuss this report European video games: A safe haven in troubled times with Richard Williamson of the Edison Group. On this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX, Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison are once again joined by Jens Deitrich for a big discussion on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Konami dashing hopes about the Silent Hill rumors, the PlayStation 5 specs, and more. The trio begin by having some banter about the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the current situation in all three of their states, how they are dealing with it, and Jens love for the bidet. After that, Marc and Jens get into a lively and large discussion on what they enjoy most and least about Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Plus, Jens dishes more thoughts on Nioh 2. While Marc has thoughts on the Resident Evil 3 Demo, A Fisherman’s Tale, and both have also been playing the 2018 title Strange Brigade too. Sean gets back to hosting duties as the guys talk about the nature of Final Fantasy VII Remake being episodic. Is this actually good for Square-Enix considering the amount of issues they faced with their titles in the last 10-15 years. Does this help make sure we get an actual ending as well? Plenty of discussion on this too. Furthermore, Konami blasts a hole through the Silent Hill rumors, Avalanche studios becomes a group, Nintendo forcing the removal of anything Mario from Sony’s Dreams. The PS5 specs and all three of them have different ideas on how far Sony will go with backwards compatibility on PlayStation 4 titles. While they also Gamestop’s essential status and curbside pickup idea. Finally, they have a special topic on their favorite relaxation games in honor of the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Rebellion are one of the most underrated studios in the UK.  Aside from the excellent Sniper Elite series, they've been responsible for Aliens vs Predator, Ground Control and Battlezone.  They also own 2000 AD comics which means they are working on print, TV and film as well as games.  The independent studio always manages to deliver what gamers want – entertaining, challenging and fun experiences. At EGX 2017 we got hands on with the next two titles to come from the studio: Strange Brigade and Rogue Trooper Redux.  The first is a co-op puzzle shooter where the pedigree of Sniper Elite comes through to help construct a chaotic, intense but immensely satisfying 4-player action game.  The latter is a full remaster of an often overlooked 3rd person tactical shooter that originally released on the PS2.  We managed to pin down Robbie Cooke and Rich May from the Rebellion team to tell us more about them.
