Hello, and welcome to C.V.’s 10 to Check Out Podcast. Brothers Curtis and Aaron Vaughn came up with the podcast idea. The concept is to give information and opinions about ten songs each month that may fly under the radar for most listeners of music. Also, we will play a snippet of each song and ask the listener to comment to us through one of our social media outlets so we can get different opinions on what you think about these songs and what they mean to you. The opinions of the music selected are only the opinions of Curtis and Aaron Vaughn and may not reflect what the artist had in mind. We believe that is the beauty of music. It can mean so many different things to so many different people. Curtis really wanted to do this because he had so many different people influence his musical tastes (including the artists themselves, friends, family, etc.) and thought with everyone listening in headphones instead of slapping on an album and listening together, maybe he could share some of his favorites with the younger generation so that if they hear something they like that he shared, they could dig deeper and/or share with their friends. In short, Curtis came up with this quote to describe the show: “Sharing the joy of music in hopes of bringing back old memories or helping listeners discover unfamiliar artists, bands, or songs that they might want to look further into. At the same time, helping out Veterans and their families with donations along the way.†https://www.buzzsprout.com/?referrer_id=1660801Our email is cvs10tocheckout@gmail.comOur Twitter handle is @cvs10tocheckout

C.V.'s 10 to Check Out PodcastCurtis and Aaron Vaughn came up with the idea for this podcast. The concept for this podcast is to give information and opinions about ten songs each month that may fly under the radar for most listeners of music. Also, we will play a snippet of each song and ask the listener to comment to us through one of our social media outlets so we can get different opinions on what you think about these songs and what they mean to you. The opinions of the music selected are only the opinions of Aaron and Curtis and may not reflect what the artist had in mind. They believe that is the beauty of music. It can mean so many different things to so many different people. In short, Curtis came up with this quote to describe the show: “Sharing the joy of music in hopes of bringing back old memories or helping listeners discover unfamiliar artists, bands, or songs that they might want to look further into. At the same time, helping out Veterans and their families with donations along the way."Songs for this month are:1. Teach Your Children (Live) - Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young2. C.V.'s 10 to Check Out Podcast “Sharing the joy of music in hopes of bringing back old memories or helping listeners discover unfamiliar artists, bands, or songs that they might want to look further into. At the same time, helping out Veterans and their families with donations along the way."In honor of our 6 month anniversary of sending these lists out, this one is a little different. This list is about the influence my dad had on my musical tastes. So listeners may recognize a lot of these songs and this list is less about what I think a song means and more about my early memories of the music I heard in our household. My first memories of music of course are singing hymns at church and singing the kids songs that Mom played on her old classical acoustic guitar. But my earliest memories of the music that started to build my own tastes were songs I heard on the AM radio or 8-track tapes while driving with my Dad on the weekends in the mid-70's. You see, when I was young, my Dad worked a 2 to 10 shift which meant that I never saw him during the week because he would be sleeping while I was getting ready for school, he would be at work when I got home from school and I would be in bed when he would get home from work. So I really treasured those times on the weekend when he and I went somewhere together and these are the songs from those times. Oh, and I added a couple extra songs since it was hard to leave any out.Songs for this month are:1. One - Three Dog Night2. Love is All Around - The Troggs3. Big Bad John - Jimmy Dean4. Ball of Confusion (That's What the World is Today) - The Temptations5. Tin Man - America6. Band on the Run - Paul McCartney and Wings7. You're My Soul and Inspiration - The Righteous Brothers8. C.V.'s 10 to Check Out Podcast Curtis and Aaron Vaughn came up with the idea for this podcast. Snakes are Charmed - Torche2. The Bridge - The Loved Ones3. Vagabond - Wolfmother4.
