Most of us have been told all our lives that time heals. But relying on time to do its healing means you don't always undertake the inner work necessary for lasting and true healing. In this episode, Summer explores this and discusses the steps we can take to promote truly healing ourselves! KEY TAKEAWAYS No matter how time passes, if we don't do the right inner work to heal that pain will keep remerging. Techniques like meditation and breathwork actually move energy, creating real healing. Getting to the root cause of our pain is key in being able to heal it. Healing is an active process that requires intentional effort. BEST MOMENTS “Change doesn't always mean healing, so we mustn't always be reliant on this” “Energy is disrupted and moved which means we are actually healing” “The more we plaster over wounds instead of actually healing them the deeper it's going to go” HOST BIO I am Summer. Time won't wait for you and me to get ready, to fully prepare, until you feel like it or motivated. You simply just get started, just do it. Don't worry about when and if you succeed or not. What is more important is that you have that passion, you have that desire within you. Start exploring it, start today, start now, while you still have that passion, that enthusiasm within you. Don't let that passion die in you like most people. They wait until someday that'll never arrive in the future. So TAKE ACTION NOW!

Time won't wait ~ get to it (from the inside out). Friday 9th 2022. Riches are inappropriate for the small-minded, and of what use is wealth to misers?(C) 4 What they deny themselves they collect for others, and others will live in luxury on their goods.(D) 5 If they are mean to themselves, to whom will they be generous? They will not enjoy their own riches. 6 No one is worse than those who are grudging to themselves; this is the repayment for their meanness. 7 If ever they do good, it is by mistake,[a] and in the end they reveal their meanness. 8 Misers are evil people; they turn away and disregard people.(E) 9 The eyes of the greedy are not satisfied with their share; greedy injustice withers the soul.(F) 10 Misers begrudge bread, and it is lacking at their tables.(G) 11 My child, treat yourself well, according to your means, and present worthy offerings to the Lord.(H) 12 Remember that death does not tarry, and the decree[b] of Hades has not been shown to you. 13 Do good to friends before you die, and reach out and give to them as much as you can. 14 Do not deprive yourself of a day's enjoyment; do not let your share of desired good pass by you.(I) 15 Will you not leave the fruit of your labors to another, and what you acquired by toil to be divided by lot?(J) 16 Give and take and indulge yourself, because in Hades one cannot look for luxury. 17 All living beings become old like a garment, for the decree[c] from of old is, “You must die!”(K) 18 Like abundant leaves on a spreading tree that sheds some and puts forth others, so are the generations of flesh and blood: one dies, and another is born.(L) 19 Every work decays and ceases to exist, and the one who made it will pass away with it. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vikki-semple/message
He's a guitarist who's played with Roxy Music since 1972; he's produced albums and tracks for David Gilmour, Pink Floyd and Rod Stewart as well as for New Zealand's Split Enz. Today PHIL MANZANERA has a new solo album with Crowded House's Tim Finn and he joins me this week to talk about how he and his friend collaborated on it. Phil also chats about his time in Roxy Music; how he joined the band, what it was like and how excited he is to be heading out on tour again with the guys for Roxy Music's 50th anniversary tour. The year was 1965 and in Cleveland Ohio, a teenage band called Tom King and The Starfires pooled their meagre resources to record an original song. The tune was called "Time Won't Let Me" and to their greatest surprise, the song began to receive radio airplay. The band became an overnight hit-sensation and with a name change, the youngsters became known as THE OUTSIDERS. For a while they were on top of the world as a One-Hit-Wonder but as we hear from RICKY B this week, success didn't last too long. He's a twelve-time nominated and two-time GRAMMY Award winner. He's sold more than 40 million albums, has been making music for more than 60 years and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. It's my absolute pleasure this week to introduce you to Mr. 'Gitarzan' RAY STEVENS whose music I certainly grew up with –and I know you probably did too. What a treat conducting an interview with Ray. Don't miss hearing how all of those famous comedy songs came about and what Ray is up to today. Would you like to hear from someone special? I'd love to bring a guest onto the show just for you. If there's a musician from the 60's, 70's or 80's that you'd like to catch up with, simply send me a message through the website, www.abreathoffreshair.com.au and I'll chase them up on your behalf. Maybe you'd like to say hi too? All can be arranged. Send me a message, subscribe to the podcast and if you feel inclined, leave me a review too? It would really mean a lot to me. Happy listening, love Sandy
C.V.'s 10 to Check Out Podcast Curtis and Aaron Vaughn came up with the idea for this podcast. The concept for this podcast is to give information and opinions about ten songs each month that may fly under the radar for most listeners of music. Also, we will play a snippet of each song and ask the listener to comment to us through one of our social media outlets so we can get different opinions on what you think about these songs and what they mean to you. The opinions of the music selected are only the opinions of Aaron and Curtis and may not reflect what the artist had in mind. They believe that is the beauty of music. It can mean so many different things to so many different people. In short, Curtis came up with this quote to describe the show: “Sharing the joy of music in hopes of bringing back old memories or helping listeners discover unfamiliar artists, bands, or songs that they might want to look further into. At the same time, helping out Veterans and their families with donations along the way."Songs for this month are:1. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica2. Shot of Love - King's X3. True Believers - The Bouncing Sould4. Mountain Song - Jane's Addiction5. The Legend of Wooley Swamp - The Charlie Daniels Band6. I Was Wrong - Social Distortion7. Time Won't Let Me Go - The Bravery8. Label: Capitol 5573Year: 1966Condition: M-Last Price: $18.00. Not currently available for sale. Here's a single that I would have included in a list of the 1,001 greatest 45s of all time, though Dave Marsh (see his list under "Collect A List" in the left-hand column of the site) didn't. The flip isn't quite as stunning, but it's a fine keeper nonetheless. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. The labels grade Mint, and the Vinyl and Audio grade Near Mint.

A lot of people do this mistake that they don’t try to learn or adapt, when they come across a concept or a thought. Sometimes these thoughts become an essential part of life and during the upcoming years it can be a very useful tool to tackle problems. If we don’t take right actions at that time, then we will not be able to survive the drastic changes in the society, which we are even facing right now. When we come across ideas, we reject them or try to postpone the learning because of our fixed schedules, work and the only reason remains is lack of time. Learning will save your efforts, time and make you smarter, always remember. #Time #Learn #Wait #ActNow

Episode #33: Time Won't Wait - (Song at 7:55sec) Where does a song come from, where does it start, how does it build? These are some of things I talk about and demonstrate, as I chat and play my piano each week. Music plays such a big role in our life. I remember hearing John Lennon's Imagine for the first time, on the radio. What a recording (what song, of course).. but there was something about the actual recording. Very cool. So I enjoy songs and recordings that have a certain feeling. Because songs have the power to take you back in time in the blink of an eye. It can reawaken old memories you forgotten you had. I talk about some things in my past, including a plum fight we had once... In fact the plums were from the tree I used to sit in that I mentioned last week... Anyway, back to the song, Time Won't Wait is song #582. It reflects on the passing of time, the slowly changing dream that unfolds and becomes our life. It also touches on the fact that being a human is a complicated business.... In these episodes, I do look to entertain, and inform...there's songwriting tips..it's all delivered in a relaxed, informal manner. I hope you enjoy this episode. I play the piano and sing a bit again on this episode, again, to demonstrate aspects of this song. Grab a cuppa, put your feet up and have a listen, I'll take you on a trip back in time and inside a song. If you'd like to find out more about my art and music, there's quite a bit online. www.petepascoe.com website Blog www.petepascoe.wordpress.com ( creations in music and art) - not a bad place to start it's a weekly blog which you can sign up to. You'll hear about a new music, videos, recordings, a how to draw a cartoon video, a seascape painting ( I paint one each week) ... Plus lots more. If this sounds like you, there's plenty on my YouTube channel Pete Pascoe Art and Music. Social media Facebook, Instagram, etc And a dozen albums on bandcamp ( Pete Pascoe and co) ….www.petepascoe.bandcamp.com I love feedback. Please don't hesitate to flick me an email…and If you've enjoyed this episode, please do leave a positive review, etc. that would help me so much ..thank you in advance

And we're back! On this episode, we bring you a collection of cover songs featured in 90s movie soundtracks! The 90s were a big decade for people deciding it would be fun to take classic songs, record their own versions, and slap them on movies that absolutely did not need them. Sometimes they're fantastic! But then sometimes they're absolutely the worst. Running late this week cause Nelson was once in a decade sick and just got well enough to leave the house today. So, that’s where we begin, in Spooky Mystery Podcast Corner before throwing a shoutout podcast recommendation to the many podcasts of Brock Wilbur, who’s a good egg and a funny comedian. Then we get into We’re Getting Old Corner aka Time Won’t Stop Murdering Us Corner before we briefly get into the stomach flu terrorizing our town that features a Will confession that will keep you standing in his house. After that, we imagine a Dick Wolf style night of TV based in the world of Mad Max: Mad Max Doctor, Mad Max Lawyer, and Mad Max Office. Then maybe even Mad Max Thirtysomething. Call us networks and the rights holders of Mad Max! That leads us into the very nature of Dick Wolf in Congress of Wolves Corner before we wrap it up with HR Claims in Westeros Corner. So much content, plus Nelson’s raspy sick voice will be the stuff of your ASMR dreams and/or nightmares! Contact Us! Follow Us! Love Us! On today's episode I talk to novelist, columnist, and Emmy-nominated television writer Bill Scheft. Bill started his career as a sportswriter and as a stand-up. After twelve years touring, he was hired as a monologue writer for Late Night with David Letterman where he remained for 24 years until the show's conclusion in 2015. In addition to writing for Letterman, Bill also wrote for the Oscars, ESPYs and almost every other major awards show, and he also contributed a popular weekly humor column to Sports Illustrated for a number of years. Bill is also an author, having penned four books: The Ringer, the Thurber Prize for American Humor finalist Time Won't Let Me, Everything Hurts, and his most recent Shrink Thyself, which was published by Rare Bird Books a few years ago. This is the website for Beginnings, subscribe on iTunes, follow me on Twitter.
Bill Scheft is known for his writing for Late Night and The Late Show with David Letterman. He has written several novels including The Ringer, Shrink Thyself, and Time Won't Let Me. In this episode Bill shares the stories from his career including stories about the late Don Rickles, working on The Late Show, his talented wife Adrianne Tolsch, his band The Truants, his various novels, the new documentary 'Take my nose...Please', and so much more. Later in the episode Bill gives some incredible tips for writers. It has been a dream come true to interview Bill. This is a very funny interview that you won't want to miss.Novelist, columnist, television writer. During the last three decades, Bill Scheft has established himself as a versatile, singular and influential comedic voice.Scheft’s critically acclaimed first novel, THE RINGER (2002), the story of a 35-year-old hired gun softball player whose life changes when he has to take care of his infirm sportswriter uncle, was optioned for film by United Artists, for whom he wrote the screen adaptation. His second novel, TIME WON’T LET ME (2005), chronicled the chaotic resurrection of the prep school garage band The Truants, whose members try to reunite 30 years after learning the album they recorded in 1967 is worth $10,000. TIME WON’T LET ME was a finalist for the 2006 Thurber Prize for American Humor, the nation’s highest honor for literary humor. His third novel, EVERYTHING HURTS (2009) introduced the world to self-proclaimed “self-help fraud” Phil Camp, who accidentally achieved international acclaim writing under the pseudonym Marty Fleck and now tries to seek relief from his unexplained chronic pain through the aid of another self-help guru, Dr. Samuel Abrun. Publishers Weekly raved: “Scheft scewers physical and emotional pain with a mercilessly comic touch and a bit of poignancy.” And Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo marveled, “How rare it is for a novel to be both hilarious and profoundly moving.”His latest and most ambitious work, SHRINK THYSELF (Rare Bird Books) came out in the summer of 2014. Charlie Traub leaves therapy to try and live a non-psychological life. Which would be great if he could shake his former therapist, who turns out to be, uh, nuts. Despite all unexamined evidence to the contrary, Charlie just may be unable to accept that wherever he goes, there he is.In addition to his long-form fiction, Scheft is widely known for his weekly humor column, “The Show,” which appeared in Sports Illustrated for three years. A collection of his columns, THE BEST OF THE SHOW, was published in 2005. Before coming to Sports Illustrated, Scheft spent two and a half years at ESPN Magazine writing a similar column, called “The Monologue.”Scheft’s love of sportswriting came from his uncle, the legendary golf writer Herbert Warren Wind. In 2011, he edited and wrote the foreword to a collection of Wind’s seminal essays, AMERICA’S GIFT TO GOLF: HERBERT WARREN WIND ON THE MASTERS.After twelve years touring as a stand-up comedian, Scheft was hired as a monologue writer for Late Night with David Letterman where he remained until the show's conclusion in May, 2015. During his 24 years with Letterman, he was nominated for 16 Emmys. Which, ah, means he never won.A frequent creative presence on award shows, roasts and television specials, Scheft wrote for the 1995 and 2005 Academy Awards, was the head writer for three ESPY Awards and has contributed special material to the Emmys, Tonys and Grammys.Over the last 20 years, Scheft has contributed humor essays and short pieces to the New Yorker, New York Times, Esquire, TV Guide, George, Talk, Slate, Modern Humorist, the collections Mirth of a Nation, 101 Damnations, May Contain Nuts, Howl, The Enlightened Bracketologist and a few other places that may or may not exist anymore. He is now a regular contributor to the New York Times Book Review. A 1979 graduate of Harvard College, where he majored in Latin because he “thought the church was going to come back,” Scheft began his professional career as a sportswriter for the Albany Times-Union before he came to the realization, “Hey, what the hell am I doing in Albany?” He moved to New York City in December, 1980.Website: http://www.billscheft.com/Tumblr: http://billscheft.tumblr.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/billscheftTake my nose...Please!: http://www.takemynoseplease.com/The Truants: http://www.thetruantslive.com/Vulture: http://nymag.com/author/Bill%20Scheft/Salon: http://www.salon.com/writer/bill_scheft/

She helps us tackle Joss Whedon’s delightful Much Ado About Nothing and the pilot episode of CBS's Under the Dome. Plus, we tackle our first reader-suggested time-travel film, Timecop. The Best Radio You Have Never Heard Podcast - Music For People Who Are Serious About Music
NEW FOR JANUARY 15, 2011 For the fifth time, Rick From New York has wrangled the controls of BRYHNH to compile the best tracks from all the episodes from 2010 into the annual Rick's Picks year in review. And for the fifth year, Rick has nailed it. And this year, without drama. He gave me the good list straight off . . . :-) Here's what Rick had to say this year: OK . . . so it wasn't the worst year in the history of the world. As Dave Barry aptly points out, "There have been MUCH worse years. For example, toward the end of the Cretaceous Period, Earth was struck by an asteroid that wiped out about 75 percent of all of the species on the planet. " . . . that year was worse. But even a cursory overview of the events of 2010, however, makes for some unsettling reading. Without even touching on Politics and World Affairs, which have been "year-ended" to death (and are SUPER DEPRESSING!), let's just take Pop Culture for instance . . . Television- The Returning Champion of the Vapid Wasteland. People, there is nothing on . . . don't debate me on this, just put down the clicker and go outside or something. Books- Jonathan Franzen's "Freedom." The most beloved (see Oprah) book of the year turns out to be about...Nothing. Film- (Coen Bros., special category . . . doesn't count.) Otherwise, Oscar Buzz is furiously buzzing for Buzz Lightyear 3-3D, with the runner-up being a movie about a rich, white Royal Guy who overcomes a speech impediment (Oh, the Humanity!). Music- There is always great music being produced year after year, but what rises to the top is rarely the cream. Witness Taylor Swift and Susan Boyle. WWW- I'm sure there are marvelous things being done on the Internet, but it's hard to imagine that they are happening on Facebook or Twitter. "OMG . . .had awesome Tex-Mex, headed for the toilet now...I'm just sayin'" And what do you suppose all the massively high-tech computing resources and uber-smart people of Google have enabled us to access through their amazing search engine as the top searches of 2010? Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Chatroulette. However . . . Standing in stark contrast, BRYHNH listeners had a fabulous year, with a smokin' new website, BRYHNH Merchandise and the unflagging attention to detail provided by Mr. Bax and the boys that we have all come to expect . I'll tell you, it sure gives me something to look forward to in 2011 . . . Hell, I might even buy a T-Shirt . . . Rick From New York And without further ado.
