Success feels great! Every nonprofit team is boosted by a good win. But is it possible for your team to get too comfortable with your current measure of success? Because the key to greater impact often involves stepping into uncharted waters, where risk and reward go hand in hand. Suzy Gray, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Your Move, believes that to achieve meaningful growth, nonprofit leaders must embrace the discomfort of bold decision-making. And part of that involves detaching from past successes. After a decade in corporate telecommunications leadership, Suzy left to pursue work that aligned with her purpose, ultimately co-founding Your Move with pastor Andy Stanley. In this special Camp Redwood Session, Suzy shares about her nonprofit's early success—and the daring “burn-the-ships” decision they made to expand their reach. Drawing from top tech company strategies, Your Move connected big data insights with ministry goals to build an innovative model for outreach. But as Suzy emphasizes, true impact requires constant evolution—and, for Your Move, focusing on where to find their audience now, not where they used to be.With passion, purpose, and poise, Suzy offers insights on taking informed risks, innovating fearlessly, and making decisions that truly matter. Whether you're facing the challenges of change, restructuring for impact, or simply seeking inspiration, this episode provides a roadmap for leading with confidence, courage, and purpose. Don't miss this inspiring conversation on leading your nonprofit through uncharted waters, staying true to your mission while pursuing bigger goals.

As noted in our Aug. 22 cover package “Your Move, Nashville,” Davidson County voters will vote yes or no on “Choose How You Move” in November. THE APPS JUST GOT A LITTLE BIT WORSE." Here's what the article says and I quote: "We've officially entered a new circle of online dating hell. Meet Rizz, which according to its App Store profile is an AI-powered "dating assistant" that tells Tinder, Hinge, and otherwise dating app users what to say to their online matches. It connects directly to a user's keyboard for easy access, and once installed, all you really have to do is start swiping right — then, from there, just let the bot dictate your every word. It's Cool but we hate it here. "There's some amount of mental work and barrier to thinking of how to compose a message," Coyne Lloyd, a 35-year-old tech investor and Rizz user, told The Washington Post. "It's like getting started on a term paper." If you're depressed at the comparison of dating other humans to writing term papers: same. And Rizz isn't the only app like this out there. As the Washington Post notes, a few other apps, including one called YourMove.ai, are currently on the market, while a number of dating app scoundrels have taken to the internet in recent months to tout the supposed dating app prowess of ChatGPT. "This past summer, I got really tired of sifting through and trying to come up with responses on dating apps," YourMove.ai founder Dmitri Mirakyan told WaPo. "So I tried to see if GPT3 could flirt. It turns out it could. A month later, I built the first version [of the platform]."Mirakyan's interest in an app like his, however, seems to go deeper than Lloyd's term paper comparison. He explained that he's always had a difficult time reading social cues — a dating stressor that a tool like YourMove.ai helps to alleviate. "There's such a gap currently," he told the newspaper, "in what people like myself want to communicate and how it comes across." That's sympathetic, in a sense, and we could see how AI assistance might benefit folks who have a tough time socially. At the same time, however, balance is definitely still needed here. Romance is one of the most human things out there, and the digital dating world is robotic enough as it is. Do we really want everyone on the apps just passing AI-generated quips and compliments back and forth for eternity? That's starting to sound like The Sims — and as humans, maybe we should shoot a little higher." unquote. I love that a woman doesn't like this new technology and of course it's going to be worse for women because they will have a much harder time figuring out which men are funny and smart. Now every man is going to have very own Cereno De Berjerack in his pocket feeding him lines to tell women. As a result the dating coaches will be done. Especially once someone invents something like the babelfish that you put in your ear and tell you what to say to women in realtime based on the conversation. We are going to see PUA on steroids and the dating roaches are going to be forced into retirement because they won't be able to teach you more than an algorithm. In fact you won't even have to learn to communicate. Much like today with smart phones you no longer need to read a map. I'll discuss more about this delightful development in just a moment but let me first tell everyone about today's sponsor Moneyline Investments:Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/mgtow/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Moving more is one of the best ways to age better and this week, GRUFFtalk host Barbara Hannah Grufferman welcomes Gretchen Reynolds to the show to talk about the newest science-backed research focusing on exercise and fitness. For many years, Gretchen was one of the most-read, most popular columnists for the New York Times. She wrote the Phys Ed column which was Barbara's go-to for the latest research on exercise and aging. But not too long ago, Gretchen moved over to the Washington Post to write the highly acclaimed “Your Move” column. One of her best-known stories was about a hotel-room workout developed by two exercise scientists. Gretchen called it "the scientific 7-minute workout," and it became a global sensation, spurring new apps and public interest in the potency of brief, intense workouts. Her 2012 book "The First 20 Minutes" was a New York Times bestseller. Gretchen's specialty as a journalist is she digs deep into the science behind exercise and fitness and how it all helps us to age better, and in this episode she talks through three of her recent columns for the Washington Post, and she also talks a bit about how all the new research she's been studying has helped her make different – probably better – choices to stay healthy and fit in 2023. Here's what you'll learn in this episode with Gretchen Reynolds: the difference between chronological age and biological age everything you need to know about epigenetics how moving more can reverse cell damage ‘exercise snacks' is an efficient and effective way to move more throughout the day why you need to move every 30 minutes and how you can do that without compromising productivity how grip strength can predict how well you are aging and how you can measure it, and even improve it why heart disease is still the #1 killer of women and why you should always listen to the signals your body is sending Get more information about Gretchen: Book - The First 20 Minutes: https://www.amazon.com/First-20-Minutes-Surprising-Exercise/dp/0142196754/ref=sr_1_1?crid=CMNLQECR5FZR&keywords=The+First+20+Minutes&qid=1675373058&sprefix=the+first+20+minutes%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-1 Washington Post Column: https://www.washingtonpost.com/people/gretchen-reynolds/ Article about Gretchen's Friend: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2022/12/28/women-heart-health-disease-symptoms/ Article on How Sitting All Day is Harmful to Your Health: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2022/09/14/meet-active-couch-potato-how-sitting-all-day-can-erase-workout/ Article on Grip Strength: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2023/01/18/grip-strength-muscles-aging/ Article on ‘Exercise Snacks': https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2023/01/04/exercise-snacks-workout-breaks/ Article on ‘The Monty Python Silly Walk': https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2022/12/21/monty-python-silly-walk-exercise/ The 7-Minute Workout: https://archive.nytimes.com/well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/05/09/the-scientific-7-minute-workout/ Connect with Barbara: Love Your Age: The Small-Step Solution to a Better, Longer, Happier Life Barbara Hannah Grufferman website Instagram @Barbara Hannah Grufferman Facebook @BarbaraHannahGruffermanAuthor Learn more about your ad choices. What's Your Move? – February 26, 2023 – John-Michael Nida – Relying on God – Restoration City Church The post What's Your Move? – February 26, 2023 appeared first on Restoration City Church.
What are your parenting goals? What does a “win” look like for you? Andy and Sandra Stanley determined years ago that their primary goal as parents was to build strong, healthy relationships with their children that continue into their adulthood. “Our legacy is the relationships, the health of the relationships, and the healthy people in the relationships we leave behind,” says Sandra. “We wanted to lay a foundation for our kids early of understanding that life is relationships. And, we wanted them to understand how to restore a broken relationship.” This week, Andy and Sandra join me to discuss their latest book, Parenting: Getting It Right, and we share an honest conversation about the importance of intentional parenting, equipping our kids for relational success, and the art of restoring a broken relationship. ---- Communicator, author, and pastor Andy Stanley founded Atlanta-based North Point Ministries (NPM) in 1995. As host of Your Move with Andy Stanley, which delivers over 10.5 million messages each month through television, digital platforms, and podcasts, and author of more than 20 books, Andy is considered one of the most influential pastors in America. Sandra Stanley received her bachelor of science degree from Georgia Tech and master of arts from Dallas Theological Seminary. Sandra has a heart for foster kids and foster families, as she and Andy have been foster parents since 2010. Her ministry passion is promoting foster care in the local church. Much of her time these days is spent working on various writing projects and continuing her involvement with Fostering Together, the foster care initiative at North Point Ministries. In their new book, Parenting: Getting It Right, Andy and Sandra combine their experience and wisdom into a guide that helps readers understand and live by essential parenting principles. Visit Andy's website and Sandra's website to learn more about both of them and their new book.

C.V.'s 10 to Check Out Podcast Curtis and Aaron Vaughn came up with the idea for this podcast. The concept for this podcast is to give information and opinions about ten songs each month that may fly under the radar for most listeners of music. Also, we will play a snippet of each song and ask the listener to comment to us through one of our social media outlets so we can get different opinions on what you think about these songs and what they mean to you. The opinions of the music selected are only the opinions of Aaron and Curtis and may not reflect what the artist had in mind. They believe that is the beauty of music. It can mean so many different things to so many different people. In short, Curtis came up with this quote to describe the show: “Sharing the joy of music in hopes of bringing back old memories or helping listeners discover unfamiliar artists, bands, or songs that they might want to look further into. At the same time, helping out Veterans and their families with donations along the way."Songs for this month are:1. I've Seen All Good People: A. Your Move, B. All Good People - Yes2. Today's episode is a special one! Actually, I get so many questions about making great decisions during our coaching time, I knew it was time to share one of my favorite episodes. I'm still absolutely giddy that I got to talk to him! Andy tells us about his most recent book, Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets, and even gives us a peek into the five game-changing questions he believes we should ask ourselves every time we need to make a decision. He also gives us a solid framework for making wise decisions and some guardrails for how to avoid the bad ones. I hope it's helpful to hear this one again as we consider how every decision we make matters as we keep moving forward in 2022! Andy Stanley is a pastor, author, and podcaster who founded Atlanta-based North Point Ministries (NPM) in 1995. Today, NPM consists of eight churches in the Atlanta area and a network of 180 churches around the globe that collectively serve over 200,000 people weekly. As host of Your Move with Andy Stanley and author of more than 20 books, he is considered one of the most influential pastors in America. Andy and his wife, Sandra, have three grown children and live near Atlanta. Listen in to learn more about: The power of asking the right questions when it comes to a decision. How decision-making can shape your life story in a beautiful way. How to develop strength and maturity as a decision-maker. Favorite quotes: We all ask questions. If we are willing to embrace some more penetrating questions. And get in the habit of asking those every time we make even a medium sized decision, we're just going to make better decisions. The proof that there's a relationship between good decisions and good questions is this: when people think about their worst decision, whether it's a financial decision, business decision, or a relationship decision. On the other side of a bad decision, we always think or even say: I should have asked more questions. Which is true. Because if we ask the right questions on the front end, we generally have fewer regrets on the back end. To lead ourselves well we have to be honest with ourselves. The decisions you're making right now are part of the story that you're going to tell. So write a good story. Our greatest regrets are the regrets where we stepped over the moral line, the ethical line, the legal line. Our greatest regrets are always preceded by a series of unwise decisions. When we live within the realm of wisdom, we stay away from the edge of disaster. In this episode I answered this question: Could you give me one tip that would make me a better communicator? (37:46) What's the difference between religion and a relationship with Jesus? (39:14) How do you know how much to charge for your services? (44:49) Links to great things we discussed: Andy Stanley Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets The Trial of the Chicago 7 Holy, Holy, Holy Standing Strong Confident Motherhood Community Hope you loved this episode!
