Do you struggle from people pleasing? Are you always wondering what others are thinking of you? What you're wearing, what you say, your decisions, your actions... Are people judging you? Well, let's chat about it. In today's episode, I have Johannah Bogart on The Purpose Project to chat all things people pleasing and boundary setting. Johannah struggled with this a lot when she was growing up, and realized how much people pleasing was taking over her life. After this realization, Johannah decided to take over and put those people please tendencies aside. She now coaches others to do the same! We chat about people pleasing in our careers, decision making, and dating life. This episode is a great reminder that you are not alone in what you're feeling. People pleasing and worrying about what others think is normal! I hope today's episode shows you that you can take control of those thoughts and emotions to truly start living. - Johannah Bogart Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/johannahbogartcoach/ People Pleasing Resources: https://linktr.ee/johannahbogartcoach - The Purpose Project Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thepurposeprojectpod/ Other Resources: https://linktr.ee/thepurposeproject

You may be wondering, Emily... What the heck is "gymtimidation?" Well, let's talk about it! In today's episode, I go over the term "gymtimidation," which can be defined as the fear of working out in front of others, the intimidation felt in a gym, the fear of being judged due to fitness capability... the list goes on and on and on. I talk through my experiences with "gymtimidation" and some research and studies done about people's gym fears. Whether it's in the gym, a fitness class, fitness group, or community, the fear that may come up when being placed in a new fitness scenario is REAL. This episode is here to remind you all that EVERYONE GOES THROUGH IT (no matter their experience, fitness level, age, or gender)! I hope this episode reminds you all of just that. Fitness is personal! "Many of us, fat and thin, have grown up feeling as if we don’t fit in at the gym. The friendliest grandmother ever could nail down some old bikes to a church hall floor, call it Basic Spin and loads of people would still find it intimidating. But we do belong. If we can buy the ticket, find the time, get through the door, we deserve to be there as much as the next person." - Fox News Article: https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/gymtimidation-prevents-a-percentage-of-americans-from-exercising-more-often-study-claims The Guardian Article Quoted: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jan/09/what-if-dont-fit-in-gym - The Purpose Project Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thepurposeprojectpod/ Other Resources: https://linktr.ee/thepurposeproject

You define yourself by who you are, not what you do. In today's episode, I dive back into your WHY and it's importance! Following my last episode on understand your WHY (linked here), so many of you asked if I could do round two on this and try to unravel how we can even begin to define our WHY. Although I can't give you step by step on how to define your WHY, I do walk you through things that your WHY should embody, which will allow you to get thinking about your WHY. I also dive into a little something called "Ikigai" (e-key-guy). Yeah, it sounds crazy, but its an amazing concept used in Japanese culture that dates back hundreds of years... And has a lot to do with your WHY. Remember, your WHY is personal. It is not a marketing pitch. Your WHY is going to evolve, change, and transform with the different phases of your life. Once you have a better understanding of this concept, you will be able to truly find fulfillment and happiness in everything that you do. - TED Talk on Ikigai: https://www.ted.com/talks/tim_tamashiro_how_to_ikigai/up-next Simon Sinek, Find Your WHY: https://simonsinek.com/find-your-why/?ref=mainNav - The Purpose Project Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thepurposeprojectpod/ Dear Emily... Social media has been SO negative lately, has it not? I feel like people have more time now than ever to sit behind their keyboards and post negative and mean comments left and right. Maybe it's just me. But recently I became overwhelmed with the amount of negativity I've been seeing, so I knew I had to do something about it. "The end of a relationship is the beginning of a new one... with ourselves." Today's episode is a little deeper than usual, but it's the content you all asked for and a topic that is very important to me. I begin by walking you all through my mindset in re-recording this episode and dive into a story about "The Atlas of Tomorrow." We cover how lost friendships give us the chance to reflect, react, and find self-confidence. Reflect on the relationship, take note, and use those realizations to add value to your future relationships and friendships. React in a positive way and use this loss and a moment to learn about yourself and what you want out of a friend. All of this comes down to self-confidence and building that relationship with yourself first and foremost. It's a bit of a chatty episode, but I truly hope you guys enjoy and learn something from it. - Kelsey & Nestle Podcast Episode Mentioned: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0w21yualPgZG1bSXp6RUIg?si=nEn5aZihT3ySJ-k3qSCvXg - The Purpose Project Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thepurposeprojectpod/

Self-love and self-care... what is the difference?? In today's episode, I chat with Sarah Humphrey, recent graduate and host of the It Ain't It, Sis podcast. Sarah and I get together today to chat candidly about the difference between self-love and self-care and how we make room for it in our lives. We talk about insecurities, body image, and so much more. It's a good one! I also wanted to address the climate of the world today. This podcast was created first and foremost to share people's thoughts, experiences, and beliefs, so although we may be a small platform I need to do a better job at using it to support all. I am a white woman, so I will never understand, but I am here to support and determined to CONTINUE the conversation. Hi guys, I wanted to address the climate of the world today. This podcast was created first and foremost to share people's thoughts, experiences, and beliefs, so although we may be a small platform I need to do a better job at using it to support all. I am a white woman, so I will never understand, but I am here to support and determined to start the conversation. The #BlackLivesMatter movement is not just a one week thing that you post about on your socials. This is something we need to talk about, educate ourselves about, and strive to make change each day here on out. Instagram stories disappear after 24 hours, what are you doing then? What conversations are you having behind closed doors? We need to do better. We need to look deep within and strive to learn. To grow. To use our voices. LISTEN UP, PEOPLE. In today's episode, I take the episode ~solo~. We start by catching up by chatting about what's going on with me and how I am doing during this time. After a short five minutes of that... we dive into today's content about asking for help, being comfortable with being uncomfortable, and knowing that we need this in order to grow and change. Better get listening! I then tie everything together with poll responses from my followers on Instagram that truly proves that you are not alone in what you're going through.
