Have you ever wondered what the difference is between an actual Astral Travel and normal dream-time?  Many of us have.  Especially as we begin our journey and become more interested in intentional Astral Travel. The interesting thing is that as you learn more about the process, we often realize we've been Astral Traveling without knowing it. Sometimes what we wake up to thinking is simply a vivid or recurring dream has actually been our soul's nightly travels. Recently we stumbled upon a concept none of us on the podcast had dived into as of yet.  The concept of “common astral location” we all seem to visit in dreamtime.  Although we hadn't heard of this before, once it was presented it makes perfect sense and is something we've all already experienced. In this episode we'll discuss some of these common locations and how they have shown up for us in our “travels”. My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Michael Colon, author of the book The Gift from Aelius. Michael Colon is a creative freelance writer and novelist, born and raised in the Big Apple, New York City. He uses his craft to profoundly impact the lives of others with thought-provoking words that breathe life into his characters. He often equates his writing to painting masterpieces with prose. His inspiration comes from various societal art forms and his own life experiences. When he isn't writing he enjoys working out, watching sports, visiting museums, and exploring nature trails.   In my book review, I stated The Gift from Aelius is a fantasy novella. Despite not being a hardcore fantasy reader, I like the premise of this book. What happens when AI is smart enough to take over? What do humans do? And more importantly, what does AI, known in this story as Codex, do? And wouldn't it be ironic if Codex determined power at any cost was the answer, given they were created by humans who believe that power at any cost is the answer?   And all would be going as planned, except one Codex is more than meets the eye. As he begins having 'glitches', he comes to understand that the world would be a better place if Codex and humans could live side by side in harmony. For A191, this becomes his personal mission. But will he be decommissioned before he can reach his goal?   At times, I struggled with the writing, feeling like I was being told rather than left to experience. However, the author did a good enough job that I had to finish reading to find out what happened in the end.   Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1   Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Michael Colon Website: https://www.twbpress.com/authormichaelcolon.html FB: @Michael Colon IG: @michaelcolonauthor   Purchase The Gift from Aelius on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/3Nayf9r Ebook: https://amzn.to/4rb39gD   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   Want to be a guest on Online for Authors? Have you ever stared at a wardrobe full of clothes and still thought… I have nothing to wear? You're not alone. In Episode 81 of It's a Mindset, I'm joined by Emma Edwards — financial behaviour specialist, founder of The Broke Generation and author of The Wardrobe Project — to unpack the powerful psychology behind our spending habits, self-image and relationship with consumption. Emma undertook a radical experiment: one full year without buying any clothes. No new pieces, no second-hand finds, not even rentals. What followed was a deeply honest journey that challenged the cultural “hamster wheel” of fashion consumption and revealed just how closely our spending can be tied to identity, insecurity and emotional needs. This conversation goes far beyond budgeting. It's about awareness, behaviour and the quiet patterns driving many of our financial decisions. Emma really encouraged me to reflect on my own consumption — especially when it comes to clothing — and what might be sitting underneath those choices. It was such a powerful reminder that money habits are rarely just about money. Emma is the founder of Broke Media and host of The Broke Generation Podcast, reaching tens of thousands of listeners each month. As a Certified Financial Behavior Specialist®, she is known for helping people feel good about money by focusing on the psychology behind our financial choices — not just the numbers. If you've ever hit record and immediately felt your heart race, you're not alone. Sitting behind a microphone can feel surprisingly vulnerable — even if you're completely comfortable talking in everyday life. The truth is, confidence in podcasting doesn't magically appear. It's built over time, shaped by repetition, structure, and a willingness to grow in public. In this episode, we're breaking down what actually creates confidence behind the mic — and why feeling a little awkward at first isn't a red flag… it's part of the process. Today’s Hosts: Dave Clements and MacKenzie Bennett Building Confidence as a Podcast Host 1. Confidence Isn't a Personality Trait — It's a Skill A lot of people assume confident hosts are naturally outgoing or extroverted. That's not always true. Some of the most confident podcasters are actually introverts who simply learned how to get comfortable in their format. Confidence grows from repetition and familiarity. What actually builds it: Clear episode structure Recording often enough that it stops feeling “new” Regular publishing cadence The mic feels intimidating when it's unfamiliar. It feels normal when it's routine. 2. Your First Episodes Are Supposed to Feel Awkward There's this pressure to sound polished immediately. But early episodes are where you discover: Your pacing Your tone Your rhythm Your transitions If you wait to feel confident before publishing, you'll wait forever. What actually works: Accepting that improvement happens publicly Measuring progress over perfection Letting your audience grow with you No one starts smooth. They become smooth. 3. Structure Reduces Nerves Most hosting anxiety comes from uncertainty. “What do I say next?” “Am I rambling?” “Did that make sense?” A simple outline can eliminate most of that. What actually works: Bullet points instead of paragraphs A defined beginning, middle, and end Knowing the purpose of the episode before recording When you know your direction, your delivery improves automatically. 4. Stop Performing — Start Talking Many hosts tense up because they think they need to “sound like a podcaster.” But your audience isn't looking for a performance. They're looking for connection. What actually works: Imagining one listener instead of a crowd Using conversational language Letting small imperfections stay in The more you sound like yourself, the more confident you'll feel. 5. Confidence Comes From Consistency You don't build confidence in a single episode. You build it by showing up repeatedly. The more episodes you record: The less you overthink The less you second-guess The more you trust your instincts Over time, the microphone stops feeling like a spotlight and starts feeling like a tool. And that's when confidence really settles in. For the best support, please use our Blubrry ticket system so our full team can help. Have you ever noticed that a podcast you follow hasn't put out an episode in months, only to find they're still actively publishing on YouTube? In this episode, Colin's away, so I'm joined by Jacob to unpack a shift we're seeing more and more. Creators recording for YouTube and letting the audio feed fall away. Sometimes intentionally. Sometimes just because it feels easier. We talk about why this is not really an audio versus video debate. It's a distribution debate. When you remove open RSS and rely on a single platform, you change how people can consume your show. You also risk cutting off your most loyal listeners, the ones who want to listen while walking, driving, or working, not sit and watch. From there, we dig into Apple's latest move to support video more seriously inside Apple Podcasts. Instead of clunky separate feeds, Apple is rolling out HLS video streaming via hosting providers. We explore what that could mean for open podcasting, how it compares to Spotify's walled garden approach, and whether pricing could become the real barrier for indie creators. We also talk about pull-based content systems for curating your podcast or newsletter. If information is infinite in 2026, curation becomes valuable. I share an idea for building a pull-based workflow that gathers relevant updates automatically, so you can filter and add your own perspective rather than spending hours manually searching. Jacob walks through practical ways to prototype this using AI projects and automation tools, without needing to code. The episode of Podcraft is sponsored by Beamly, and is brought to you by Alitu and The Podcast Host

My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Steven Scott Eichenblatt, author of the book Pretend They are Dead. Steven is a graduate of Florida State University and the University of Florida College of Law. A practicing attorney and father of five, he has spent over thirty years advocating for children as a pro bono guardian ad litem and representing families of first responders killed on 9/11. As a founding partner of Page & Eichenblatt, he has received multiple awards for legal excellence and community work supporting children. He lives with his wife in Orlando, Florida.   In my book review, I stated Pretend They Are Dead is heartbreaking memoir. Steven's father had issues - enough that his parents divorced. She remarried a man who was verbally and physically abusive. Although, technically, Steven had two fathers, he felt abandoned by both. By the time he graduated high school, he called no one dad.   The trauma from his youth made it impossible to have lasting relationships, though he tried, failing at two marriages. But something he didn't want to fail at was being a father. So, he loved his children with everything he had and worked hard to figure out the truth of his past.   I like Steven's style of writing. I felt like I was in his head - which spins from one topic to the next. I could see why he exasperated his parents at a young age! He is also honest - about his own actions as well as the actions of others. Despite the circumstances, in the end, he doesn't really cast blame. Instead, he figures out how to forgive, let the past go, and find joy in today.   If you like a good memoir, you'll like this book!   Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1   Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Steven Scott Eichenblatt Website: https://www.stevenscotteichenblatt.com/ FB: @seichenblatt IG: @seichenblatt X: @SSEichenblatt LinkedIn: @Steven Eichenblatt   Purchase Pretend They are Dead on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/3NGK72R Ebook: https://amzn.to/4qQtzE4   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   Want to be a guest on Online for Authors? My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Dorothea N Buckingham, author of the book Code Name Rascal. Dorothea “Dee” Buckingham is a seasoned author, retired librarian, and dedicated historian who has called Hawaiʻi home for over 30 years. Her profound interest in the daily lives of women during World War II in Hawaiʻi has been the cornerstone of her literary work. Dee's commitment to uncovering and narrating these often-overlooked stories has established her as a respected voice in historical fiction.   Her notable publications include My Name is Loa, a historical novel set on Molokaʻi, and Who Murdered Jane Stanford?: An Answer Imagined, which delves into the mysterious death of Stanford University's co-founder in 1905 Hawaiʻi. Additionally, she co-authored World War II Hawaiʻi with her husband, retired Lieutenant Colonel John Buckingham, offering a pictorial history that captures the transformative impact of the war on the islands.   Dee's passion for storytelling extends beyond writing; she is an Author Accelerator certified book coach, providing guidance to aspiring writers. Her engaging talks and workshops have been featured on west coast radio and television in Hawaiʻi, and she has presented to diverse audiences, sharing her insights on writing and historical research.   Her latest work, Code Name Rascal, continues her mission to illuminate the vital roles women played during wartime, weaving a narrative that is both historically rich and emotionally resonant.   Dee enjoys connecting with readers and is available to meet with book clubs and reading groups, both in person and via Zoom, to discuss her work and share insights into her writing process.   In my book review, I stated Code Name Rascal is a wonderful historical fiction. This story takes place in Hawaii immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor. We quickly meet four women, all very different from one another, who join a classified radar operation known as WARD, with the code name Rascal.   One of the things I loved best about this story is that I was completely unaware of WARD or even the issues in Hawaii after the initial bombing. I'm not sure where I was during school, but there is a lot more to what happened than I realized! Code Name Rascal helped fill in so many of the blanks.   I also really loved Dorothea's characters. CJ is a strong, newly-married journalist. Ruth is a quiet Navy officer wife. Jane is a pilot going through divorce. And Eve is a Honolulu socialite. Imagine all these women thrust into tiny quarters, working grueling hours, keeping war secrets, and still trying to figure out their own lives. It's like a historical soap opera, full of determination, grief, danger, and disappearing dreams - and it's one you won't want to miss!   Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1   Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Dorothea N Buckingham Website: https://dorotheabuckingham.com/ Substack: https://dorotheanbuckingham.substack.com/   Purchase Code Name Rascal on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/3LrHJMU Ebook: https://amzn.to/49sTwUx   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   Want to be a guest on Online for Authors? My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Eric F Goldstein, author of the book Taught. As a middle and high school teacher, Eric Goldstein founded the Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization, One World Education. Through programs that teach writing skills through social justice, the organization has transformed more than 65,000 students into writers with voice, knowledge, and purpose. Inspired by two decades of listening to students tell their stories, Eric's debut novel, TAUGHT, released in January 2026.   In my book review, I stated Taught is a contemporary literary fiction that follows a teacher and a former student on a week-long journey. However, this journey is not something either one planned.   Jerry Brown's life is a mess. He's likely to lose his job as a teacher. He and his wife are having issues. And Malik, a former student, is beat by police during a protest. He decides to go camping and write graduation letters to his students. But before he gets out of town, Malik shows up. So, they leave together.   This is not a fast-paced story, but one where the back stories leak out slowly and deliberately. We see Jerry doubting himself as a teacher and husband. We see Malik doubt himself as a student and friend. Both doubt whether they can live up to the title of 'man'. And, as the reader, we feel the pain.   Race plays a huge role in the story, allowing us to glimpse lives we might not otherwise experience - and allowing us to ask the hard questions. Is racism real? Is it everywhere? Do people experience a stop in a backwoods gas station differently depending on their skin? And, more importantly, what can - or should - we do about it?   I definitely suggest this one for your TBR.   Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1   Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Eric F Goldstein Website: www.onelongroad.com IG: @ericfgoldstein   Purchase Taught on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/3NilBFl   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   Want to be a guest on Online for Authors? Have you ever felt flat… even when life looks “fine” on paper? Like you're functioning - working, parenting, leading - but your energy isn't where it used to be? In this episode of It's a Mindset, I sit down with Tim Jack Adams - founder of three purpose-driven companies and author of Energised - to explore what it really means to feel alive, purposeful and connected again. Since 2009, Tim has worked with leadership teams across industries to embed functional wellbeing into organisations - not as a tick-box initiative, but as a sustainable way of working. His approach is deeply personal, always tailored, and grounded in one belief: when people feel valued, purposeful and connected, they perform at their best. What I loved about this conversation is that it wasn't about hustle or productivity - it was about energy. Real energy. The kind that comes from living in alignment. As someone who speaks often about purpose as a pillar in Worthy & Wealthy, this episode resonated deeply. Tim's perspective brought me such clarity and joy - because when we feel energised by what we do, life feels lighter, not heavier. Key Takeaways: What a “battery check” is - and how it makes checking in with mates easier and more natural Why purpose isn't optional - it's fuel The role of nature, presence and connection in restoring energy Why wellbeing isn't separate from life… it is life And how giving less value and time to work (and more to living) might actually improve both There is also an honest discussion about mental health and suicide in this episode. If this is a sensitive topic for you, please listen with care. In Australia, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14. About the Guest: Tim Jack Adams is an entrepreneur, wellbeing advocate and author of Energised. Since 2009, he has founded three companies with one mission: helping people reconnect with themselves, their teams and what truly matters. Through these ventures, Tim has worked with leadership teams across industries to embed functional wellbeing, strengthen culture and build sustainable momentum. His approach is deeply personal - taking the time to understand each team's unique needs and co-creating practical pathways that deliver real results, not just feel-good moments. Tim believes that when people feel valued, purposeful and connected, they perform at their best. And when organisations operate this way, they don't just build better companies - they help create a better world. We pull back the curtain on a costly flaw hiding in many practices: same-day-only incentives that deflate morale, raise churn, and starve the pipeline. The fix isn't more pressure at the money moment; it's smarter, teamwide incentives that reward consistent follow-up and real conversion over time.We start with the anxiety every owner knows: that hollow feeling when the pending list runs dry. Then we reframe the pending list as a core business asset—inventory you can shape with thoughtful systems. You'll hear a real-world case from a practice where treatment coordinators loved new processes yet felt helpless, because their bonus vanished the second a patient walked out without signing. We show how today's shoppers call five offices, visit three, and need a trust-rich journey across every touchpoint, from the first phone call to the clinical handoff.Next, we map a practical playbook for turning prospects into starts: a steady cadence of calls, texts, emails, and short personalized videos; messages that evolve from education to objection-handling; and micro-commitments that lower friction, like reserving a start date or pre-approving financing. Then we connect process to pay. Instead of isolating the treatment coordinator, we propose a shared pool that rewards overall conversion within 30 to 60 days, with a smaller kicker for same-day signatures. Reception, clinical assistants, and digital intake all share in the outcome because they shape trust long before the contract appears.By the end, you'll have a clear blueprint: treat the pipeline like gold, coach the team to follow through with empathy and precision, and align incentives with behaviors that actually drive starts. Ready to replace guesswork with a system that compounds wins? Subscribe for future deep dives, share this with a colleague who needs a bonus reboot, and leave a quick review to tell us the one follow-up tactic you're adopting this week.

My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Kim Sorrelle, author of the book Love Is. Kim Sorrelle is a writer, speaker, entrepreneur, and director of a humanitarian organization. She is the author of two books, "Cry Until You Laugh" which details her journey through cancer, and "Love Is" which chronicles her year-long experiment to discover the true meaning of love. Kim is passionate about people and loves to travel to new places and meet new faces. She has five children and eleven grandchildren whom she adores and believes will one day make a positive impact on the world. Kim is committed to living a life of love and is determined to make a difference in the lives of those around her.   In my book review, I stated Love Is is a beautiful memoir exploring the concept of Christ-like love. She uses 1 Corinthians 13 as a guide and spends an entire year trying to love as Jesus would love. What a gift she's given all who read her words - a way to think about loving others that goes beyond words and hits squarely on actions. And not just any actions, but actions that truly depict love for another.   Love is patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, is not proud, does not dishonor others, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, does not keep a record of wrongs, does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth, always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres - it never fails. Kim learned that such love isn't easy to live - even when your focus is on just one phrase. I loved how honest she was - sometimes that she believed it would be easy and was wrong, and often that she knew it would be hard and it was harder than she imagined.   Without a doubt, this book has me thinking - and re-thinking - about love, how I show it to others, and how I can make changes to live more fully the love described in 1 Corinthians 13.   Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1   Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Kim Sorrelle Website: https://www.kimsorrelle.com/ FB: @Kim Sorrelle IG: @kimsorrelle LinkedIn: @Kim Sorrelle   Purchase Love Is on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/4q1IStf Ebook: https://amzn.to/4iOeJev   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   Want to be a guest on Online for Authors?
