Talking life, faith, and so much more with some of my friends and fellow creatives in the Atlanta community and beyond.
Back again with a little something you can read, watch, OR listen to! As noted, I am *trying* to grow my platform on YouTube to a sustainable place to share projects I really love. I've got a lot of things slow-cooking right now, which is tedious and also very okay. If you haven't already, you can subscribe to my YouTube channel and watch this post LIVE with your own eyes, or throw on another video while you're cleaning your room or feeding your cat or whatever. You don't even really have to watch if you don't want! I wouldn't blame ya.Thanks for being here if you're here. It means a lot.
This week's episode is a reading of a previously published Substack letter titled “Get Out the Map,” after one of my favorite Indigo Girls songs. In this episode, I'll talk about my life-long desire to escape, showing up at my ex's house in the middle of the night, and finding the balance between exploration and exercising power; the importance of being alone and being home. What it might mean to really be somewhere. I dunno! You can also watch this episode on my YouTube channel here. Please subscribe if you stop by. :) Get full access to gabby gabs at gabbyfenimore.substack.com/subscribe
This essay, first shared here on Substack, is now available in audio AND video forms! Listen here or watch on Youtube here. Get full access to gabby gabs at gabbyfenimore.substack.com/subscribe
Welcome to the first iteration of what we're calling, "Gabby Reads Her Substack Posts!" in which I attempt to keep this whole podcast thing going by combining the things I write with the things I say. That means you can choose to read or listen to this episode, giving you the power of choice, something I happen to hate. (Kidding. Mostly.) Whatever you choose, thanks for being here. Hope you enjoy. Part 2 of a conversation with Marissa Neola on faith, passion, and persistence. I am so grateful to Marissa for joining me on my podcast! Keep up with her on social media @marissaneola across all platforms. Stay tuned for more! Get full access to Gabby's Substack at gabbyfenimore.substack.com/subscribe
Gabby gabs with dancer and choreographer, Marissa Neola, about passion, persistence, and apartment horror stories. This is Part 1 of a 2-part conversation around Marissa's evolution as an artist, the role faith plays in her life as a dancer, and the ups and downs of following your dreams whole-heartedly. WELCOME BACK! I am so excited to share this episode with my dear friend and former roommate, Rissa. Beware of incessant giggles and recollections of good times. Follow Marissa @marissaneola on all platforms and make sure to check out Part 2: Gab w/ Marissa NeolaI love you for listening! Can't wait to share more soon. :)
I am so excited to share an episode that I recorded with another real life actual person and one of my favorites, at that! DaeSun Cupid is a dancer, choreographer, actor, director, among many other skills, one of them being that he can pull off a pair of platform Jordans. Dae is someone I look up to personally and professionally and I'm grateful he took some time to share with me (and subsequently, you) about his start, his career, and the role faith has played in his life. Follow him on IG at @daesuncupid Let me also pivot real quickly and say I am going OUT OF THE COUNTRY! FOR 2 MONTHS! AH! So, this will be the last episode for a while. Keep up with me @gabbygabspod or @gabbyfenimore I hope you enjoy and I thank you for listening at all. Cheers, friends.
Ugh, FINALLY! An episode devoted to influencing you! Evangelism at its finest. No, but really- The Artist's Way is an incredible project and a journey that has changed my life in SUCH a positive way. In this episode, I tell you about the Artist's Way: what it is, its relationship to my life, and how it has impacted the lives of some people who are close to me. This episode features guests Monica Fenimore and Tendai Mufkaka- both of whom helped me to complete the Artist's Way and share about their experiences firsthand. This course rocks and has been an incredible aid on my spiritual and creative journey. If you have done it yourself, hit me up and tell me about your experience! And if you haven't and you're still not convinced, but are intrigued, please also hit me up. I am very persuasive. Shoutout again to @noahfenimore of @betteryetband for the awesome tune heard throughout the episode.Follow me @gabbygabspod or @gabbyfenimore to stay updated on things. Remember: creativity is God's gift to us. Being creative is our gift back to God.Be creative! Have a great week.
WELCOME BACK! Here for a good time and hopefully a longer one. This is like my re-baptism or vow renewal or basically just second (or maybe technically third) shot at this whole podcast thing. Though I am scared to come back at it from a very different place than where I started, I hope that my being upfront about my deconstruction journey will reach someone who needs some encouragement in theirs. That is what helped me! Just here to try and return the favor. Stay tuned for updated chats with some guests from years before as well as some new voices. Happy you're here and happy to be here.Follow me on the internet for more re-branding and whatnot @gabbygabspod as well as personally/professionally @gabbyfenimore and @gfenimorephoto because apparently my side hustle is making Instagram accounts! Which make me almost zero money! Please also follow @betteryetband and @noahfenimore who is responsible for the pod's new jingle.
Well, hello!Thank you thank you THANK you to everyone who listens. Dunno why you're here. But thanks.Me reiterating to you how I'm "being real" makes it all less real I feel, so, yanno, I say everything that needs to be said in the ep. Please excuse my inevitably mispronounced words and join me in accepting the large possibility that I have no idea what I'm talking about. On a real note, check out the books/text/music mentioned and feel free to send more my way. I am just happy to be here these days. Eager to learn. Ready for whatever's coming my way.Happy listening and I'll talk at you (hopefully) again soon!Follow @gabbygabspodcast and @gabbyfenimoreCheck out:Beautiful World, Where are You? by Sally Rooney12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B. It's a brand new year and it was about time for a "brand new" episode. However, this one has been sitting on my hard drive for months. Upon re-listening and editing, I couldn't be more excited to kick off 2022 with this: an honest conversation with one of my best friends about things that matter. Things I wish I'd talked about more growing up. Things I want to continue to be open about discussing now.I am so grateful to Mary Lindsay for agreeing to let me let you come sit in on what is pretty standard conversation for us and I hope that you may feel inspired & willing to get into the real sh** with the real ones in your life. Throw some rapid-fire-questions at your bestie one day. Check on your strong friends. Be unafraid to challenge your own ideas and reexamine what you think you know.Mary Lindsay is a jack of all trades: dancer, producer, stylist, influencer, kick-ass friend, and I'm probably missing at least 5 other things because this girl really does it ALL, so make sure you follow her on Instagram and TikTok @themarylindsay. Happy new year, friends. We're all in this together.
Long-time-no-talk? Yeah, hi. It's been a minute. Here are some thoughts on some words that have been stuck in my head that found their way to a Page Doc sometime last week and now to your ears. It has been heavy on my heart to return to this platform and continue to have conversations and not only give God the myriad of questions swimming around in my heart, but share them with you. These are just words. I'm open to them being wrong. My only hope is that my thoughts may bring to light some thoughts and questions of your own.
Happy New Year! If you're the goal-setting and vision-board-creating type, listen along as I reflect on my 2020 goals and get ready to prepare my heart and mind for the year to come. Make sure you're following on Insta @gabbygabspodcast for updates. Thanks for listening!
whew. hi. soooo, there may or may not have been a few tears in the making and editing (and surely listening to) of this episode and all I can really say aside from that is how GRATEFUL I am to Dre for being so transparent and vulnerable about her journey thus far: the beautiful, the bad, and the just-so-insane-i-can't-believe-this-is-even-real (which was essentially the thought I had throughout MOST of this recording.) all of that being said, I truly hope you feel as humbled and inspired listening to this. make sure you keep up with Dre on instagram @drelakinand...yes... @gabbygabspodcast too :)
Welcome to part 1 one an absolute blessing of an opportunity to sit and talk with dancer, choreographer, teacher, and fantastic human being, Dre Lakin. We got to cover so much in our time together, so stay tuned for more next week! Make sure you follow her on ig @drelakin and...of course, @gabbygabspodcast if you haven't already
Holy freaking HI! Wow. It's been a minute. (AKA 2 months.) My initial goal with this podcast was to combine my 2 favorite things: coffee and good conversations. Because of my starting this during quarantine, that vision didn't necessarily come to fruition. I am still so proud of what we have been able to produce thus far, BUT I am really excited that I was able to safely engage in a layer of this podcast that I will refer to specifically as "Conversations Over Coffee." Woohoo!A couple months ago, I had the opportunity to sit and talk to a couple different creatives that I seriously look up to and admire. Though this is long overdue, I have to say I think it's better late than never and hopefully you feel the same way!Jaidi Ventura is an actress, movement coach, director, dancer, visionary, Pisces, and super uplifting soul to be around. I am so grateful she took the time out to chat with me about her transition from dancing to acting, how she explores new realms of expression in her work, as well as everything from dating to horoscope signs, etc. Give her a follow @jaidirogue on Instagram ANDmake sure you're following @gabbygabspodcast as well. :) PT. 2 NEXT WEEK! SOOOO HAPPY TO BE BACK!

In preparing for our small group's new study, I've had love on the brain for SURE. Now, clearly, this episode isn't really about why you should break up with your significant other, sorry. (I mean, unless that's how you translate it, which is entirely possible. To each their own!) However, I hope that my sharing this real life moment that I had this week that you might feel like you're not alone and maybe even a little bit inspired to let go of something that's been holding you back from living the way that God is calling you to live.I'd love to get your thoughts on this episode- I kinda just followed my instincts on this one, haha! DM me @gabbygabspodcast on Instagram and let me know what you think or just share whatever you'd like to share. Oh, and by the way, thank you so much for listening. It means the world to me to think that maybe just one person might hear one word that affects them in a positive way. See ya next time!
What a blessing to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with the founder of Prickly Pear Coffee Bar: Annika Van Nest! Shoutout yet again to the For the Girl Podcast for inadvertently linking us together. Annika's heart for ministry is full of infectious joy that will surely leave you just as inspired as I was conducting this convo! Make sure you follow @pricklypearcoffee on Instagram and head to pricklypearcoffee.com for more info. Thank you, as always, for listening! You (yes, you!) are like, seriously, the best.
Grab your Bible, notebook, and favorite warm & cozy beverage as I take you along with me through my spiritual journey for the last 2 months: a study of the book of James by For the Girl! My small group and I have just reached the end of our summer devotional journey through this study and let me tell you- my brain and heart are FULLY stocked with so much good wisdom and hunger to pursue God in a way I haven't before. It's been a minute, but I'm BACK! (And happy to be here!) This week, listen in as I get to gab with Danni Heverin: a dancer, choreographer, teacher, movement coach, personal trainer, adjudicator, & business owner about all things self-confidence, overcoming fear, and putting yourself out there to let your light shine. Keep up with all of Danni's endeavors and follow her on Instagram at @danniheverin and @dh.studios Stay tuned for more! Much loveeeee
Boy, oh, BOY. I am so excited to share this episode. I had the opportunity to chat with @itsallmarvelous and ask him questions that I and some of my close friends had been dying to ask! Marv is an incredible artist, but that alone was not why I sought out this interview. There are plenty of talented people in the world. Marv, however, brings more to the table than just skill: the way that he carries himself serves as an example to the dance community of just how beneficial it is to be an honest, hardworking, and respectful human being. I am seriously (for the millionth time) SO grateful that this conversation could happen! Thanks for listening and stay tuned for many more awesome guests in the future. Reach out via our Instagram page @gabbygabspodcast if there's someone you'd like to hear from on the show!Xoxo,Gabby
Weeeelcome back! Join me as I gab with my very first male guest: dancer, choreographer, photographer, and recent Kennesaw State University graduate Darvensky Louis to chat about his experience with college dance, the importance of submission, and how great a little bit of deep convo can be for the soul!Make sure you follow him on Instagram @adaywithvensky and @venskyphotography P.S. I am A) super late with posting this and B) so discombobulated that I literally deleted the intro I pre-recorded on accident and then went out of town without the most vital piece of equipment I needed to record a new one. But, I promised you guys (and myself) that this episode would be out tonight, so here it IS! YAY! Make sure you're following @gabbygabspodcast on Instagram if you like updates and the color orange. (Like, seriously. A LOT of orange.)
This is a bit impromptu, not gonna lie, but I woke up this morning and could NOT sleep. I had to get this out of my head and into the world. So, I hope that this provides you some guidance or at least assurance knowing that when life feels confusing and you're having trouble leaning on the Bible for help, you're not alone. It's totally normal and honestly, totally part of God's plan for our spiritual growth. Thanks for listening!Make sure you're following @gabbygabspodcast on Instagram.
