Last we left off, the Tempests were moving through the West on their journey North and came across a ghost town. Perhaps a week or more prior, the denizens had left the town unguarded and unmanned, taking what they needed and left the rest behind. Undeterred, the Tempests continued on towards the pass through the mountain. Approaching the pass, the original members of the Tempests noticed something a bit different compared to the last time they came through. Barricades, trenches, and other defensives lines had been erected. Curious about this change, Lakin took Zaan and Pez skyward to investigate. The soldiers let loose a volley of arrows towards the flying group and struck Lakin in the shoulder, which infuriated the Orc. However, Zaan was able to diffuse the situation and the leader of the soldiers was called out to handle things. Sir Reginald greeted the Tempests, recalling their last visit through the pass and quickly explained their situation. Many of his Harpermere soldiers had abandoned their post in lieu of returning to their homeland, but the Welterwatch men stayed behind to defend the pass and assure that nothing heinous came through. Magic had dwindled or faded entirely and many assaults by members of the Transcendent Maw had harried their position in the past, so seeing people flying immediately put the men on the defense. And the best defense is a good offense. With tempers quelled and Lakin... somewhat.. subdued, we rejoin the Tempests now as Sir Reginald escorts the Tempests to the Dragonshade Camp where Zaan and Moriko could help heal the wounded men and perhaps learn more about what was happening on the continent of Drago. Don't think for a moment that the dismantling of the 1965 Voting Rights Act stops with disenfranchising Black voters. Once Republicans are finished suppressing Black votes, women are next, gay Americans will follow, and then they'll come for the working poor. Nobody is safe once if the powers that be are allowed to dismantle democracy. Dismantling the voting rights act isn't a Black issue. It's a EVERYBODY issue and everybody needs to ACT LIKE IT.
Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests had returned to the Untamed West on their journey northward towards Rokasing after passing through Gloomwren Pass. Reaching the base of the mountain trail, Lakin Pez and Zaan flew down to inspect the suspiciously quiet Gloomwren. Not a single soul moved until Lakin called out and the large Boss called Mug emerged from one of the tents. Not all too bright and oddly friendly, Mug explained that he became the boss after sitting on the previous boss. When things started going topsy turvey, Mug sent the rest of Gloomwren back up the pass, stating that he didn't like going uphill, so he stayed behind. Lakin, using his masterful wordplay, managed to convince Mug to travel with them. After all.. he can't be the boss if there's no one to boss around. Zaan then introduced the newer members of the party to THE JUG and thankfully things went rather well. Lakin and Mug grew taller for a time, Pez became a water elemental for a while, and Bogbo became an undead for a bit. With playtime over, it was time to head out. Their path soon brought them further westward and nearer to the black scar cutting across the dunes. Whether coincidence, or correlation, a small group of Bulettes had been slain and eaten. Mug, looking for a snack himself, wandered up and was promptly attacked by a giant Purple Worm. Dispatching of the first rather quickly, a second emerged and tried to take a bite out of Cassie. Moriko turned into a rock elemental and dove into the dunes after the Worm to keep it from running away. The battle won and wounds healed, we rejoin the Tempests now as they venture North towards Dragonshade Camp once more. We have merch! Sophia Lin Lakin, JD '11 (MS '04, BA '02), director of the ACLU's Voting Rights Project, challenges the stated premises behind many current voting restrictions, including claims about widespread non-citizen voting. “If we're worried about the integrity of our elections,” she tells Stanford Law professor and host Pam Karlan, “we should be worried about making sure that more people are participating in our elections and not chasing a fantasy.” That concern—how long-standing efforts to restrict voting access can make it harder for eligible voters to participate—runs through the episode, which was recorded shortly before the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Louisiana v. Callais. In a 6–3 ruling, the Court struck down Louisiana's congressional map, which had created a second majority-Black district, holding that the map was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. The decision could make it harder to use Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act to challenge maps that dilute minority voting strength. Lakin and Karlan discuss what is at stake when access to the ballot becomes harder and the rules for translating votes into political power begin to shift. Their conversation focuses on proof-of-citizenship requirements, mail ballots, voter roll purges, and redistricting battles, offering a timely look at the legal fights shaping who can vote, whose ballots count, and whether communities can elect representatives of their choice. Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests are deep within the Orc Lands. With their promise to Lakin kept, and a new task given to them by Ceto, they had many things to plan for. After plotting their course, they tasked Cassie with heading North West towards the Gloomwren pass that would allow them egress into the desert where their adventure first began. With Lakin now amongst the living, Zaan wanted to introduce the re-born Orc to Fern's cafe, only to find the passageway through the pantry collapsed. Trying and failing to not panic, Zaan desperately reached out to his booty call and see what was going on. According to the Tabaxi Lieutenant, things were bad in Harpermere. The King and Queen were dead and things were in turmoil. Only after Pez questioned why Zaan thought to check on Yvonne and not Fern, did he realize that he was a dumbass and contacted one of their closest friends. Fern claimed to be okay, but there was much going on and little time to converse past the one spell. Pez then took a moment to use the book of sending to contact his Sister in the West. Though she was reportedly safe, she expressed concerns with the world's current state as well. A behemoth of a beast was reportedly roaming around the desert, laying waste to anything and everything around the main railway. To take their minds off of things for a while, and also to try out his new gifts, Lakin challenged Zaan to a friendly duel that got a bit more heated than Lakin was expecting and quickly put the rabbit in his place. Later the next day, the Tempests came upon a bridge that would allow them to cross the river that splits the region down the middle... guarded by a single goblin. They spent little time in wording their way around the goblin's senses and convinced him that he was far superior than the rest of his clan and sent him on his way. Crossing the bridge with ease, Pez and Lakin took a moment to destroy the bridge to further hinder the orc clans and continued North again. We rejoin them now at the 'dawn' of a new day amidst a torrential downpour as they attempt to find their way towards Gloomwren pass. We have merch! Last we left off, the Tempests were deep in orcish lands, their target: The Bloodmoon Clan. But an outright assault wasn't the plan. First, they would take out the chief known as Ta Bloodrage. Approaching the encampment from the water, the Tempests snuck in close, then gave the signal to Bogbo to begin his distraction. And what a distraction it was! The little goblin unleashed the air elemental lent to him to lay waste to the outskirts of the clan's base. The ruckus drew the attention of the rest of the Bloodmoon clan, include Ta, which drew the chief out of her abode and into the open. The Tempests wasted little time in assaulting the orc chieftess. She was not so easily killed however, and appeared to be quite powerful, creating duplicates of herself around the village and slipping through the fingers of the Tempests at every turn... Until Ta Bloodrage cried out in frustration and dropped her facade. The image of a ritualistic female orc dropped, revealing the visage of The Speaker as he summoned more of his wordlings to surround Zaan. So focused was he on Zaan however, he didn't notice Moriko coming up behind him in her water elemental form and WHELMED HIM. With no way to speak, the Speaker was trapped within the elemental and was an easy target for Pez's fireball spell which ended the Speaker in a boiling tomb. As the rest of the Tempests gathered to discuss their next steps, Lakin took off to assist Bogbo in finishing off the rest of the Bloodmoon Clan. With the remaining Bloodmoons scattered and fleeing, the party considered the job complete and headed back to their wagon, Cassie. Along the way, Lakin felt an urgent pull that had him straying towards the water. Urging his fellows to go back to the wagon, Lakin took off for the water's edge and found Ceto there waiting for him in her colossal form. The sea goddess brought mostly bad tidings for Lakin.. The world was in turmoil. Many of her brethren deities were missing, or in the case of Coyote, in hiding, after being attacked by Saedhir's minions. In light of all that had occurred, Ceto considered her bargain with Lakin complete in the hopes that her champion would be able to turn his rage towards Saedhir and his followers instead. Ceto then granted Lakin's desire and returned his life to him. No longer an undead orc, Lakin took his time returning to the wagon to meet his very surprised party members. We rejoin them now as they travel through the night to the north, Lakin laying nekkid on the roof and sleeping for the first time in centuries. We have merch! “Ey oruç tutanlar, müjde size! Sabır ve zahmet günleri geride kaldı, şimdi bayram vaktidir. Lakin gerçek bayram, canın tenden kurtulup cananına kavuştuğu, nefsin esaretinden azat olduğun gündür. Bayram gelince kurbanlar kesilir; sen de kendi enaniyetini (benliğini) kurban et ki, Hakk'ın varlığında dirilesin. Zira aşıkların bayramı, Sevgili'nin cemalini gördükleri andır.”

Rod Lakin Discusses Joe Vs Jack Rules
Picking up where we last left off, things in the world of Archeron are getting worse. After thoroughly defeating the Bloodmoon Clan patrol, Lakin yoinked a soul and a body from the slain which allowed him to do a little spiritual reconnaissance and quite possibly invent a new war crime. It's not a war crime the first time however, and Lakin diligently started to stitch the goblin corpse back together after firing it out of a cannon at a nearby tree. The Tempests began moving South once more, heading deeper into Bloodmoon territory and began discussing their tactics for assaulting the encampment. During the discussion, talks arose once more about the dwindling magic capabilities of the locals, and Zaan asked Lakin to commune with Cadall so the harengon could ask a few questions. The connection made, the speaker was not who Zaan expected. What seemed to be Saedhir spoke back in monosyllabic desire and hunger. Thoroughly freaked out, the spell ended with Lakin experiencing hunger for the first time in centuries and proceeded to try and eat Zaan's meat stores while still incorporeal. With more questions than answers, the Tempests continued south to finish the job they were certain they could handle at the moment. Choosing to take the stealthier route to remove the head of the clan, Ta Bloodrage, rather than assaulting the camp head on. Because as Bogbo claimed, "Take out the leaders and the little ones scatter." We rejoin them now with about half a day's journey left until they reach the Bloodmoon Clan's camp. We have merch! Turning the clocks ahead (and how B.C. is going to stop) with Dr. Patricia Lakin-Thomas of York University.
Last time on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests made their way into the Orc Lands and rescued Pez's forever friend and companion, Hambjerger, a small velociraptor who now seemed capable of growing to immense size after his rebirth thanks to a blessing given to him by the deity, Coyote. But the Tempests weren't done here. Lakin has a task left to complete. A promise. A Pact made with the deity Ceto to eliminate a tribe known as the Bloodmoon Clan who were polluting her shores. Returning to the Mountaintooth clan to report their successful hunt, many unknowns and uncertainties made themselves known. Their guide Bogbo seemed to have lost his ability to manifest his psychic daggers. Rellka the Shaman of the Mountaintooth clan felt uneasy, and when prompted, seemed unable to cast her own magic. - Pez's spells seemed to falter and struggle to complete. Many attempts to speak with the party's individual deities were made, and many did not answer. Though a bit shaken by these events, the Tempests had made a promise to help Lakin with his task, and they intended to see that promise through. The Tempests headed south towards the Bloodmoon clan and came upon a patrol heading north. Lakin, Pez, and Bogbo flew out to investigate and kidnapped one of the goblins in the patrol to question them. When the goblin's usefulness came to an end, he was promptly dealt with by letting gravity do it's job. We rejoin them now as Pez finishes tossing a fireball at the patrol and eliminates a sizeable chunk of their forces. We have merch! The belt is up for grabs today after Spike held it all last week — and it looks like Rod Lakin, the big boss, is ready to claim it for himself this week.
Last we left off, the Tempests returned to Drago, making a lengthy pitstop in High Tide, the pirate stronghold, to make a few upgrades to their sentient wagon before heading off into the Orc Lands. After almost a week of waiting, everything was set for the next leg of their adventure, with Cassie gaining six new legs to play with! They headed across the mountains with Bogbo as their guide and very quickly came upon signs of a legendary beast's territory: the Aashkaht. But the Tempests weren't about to let a mythical beast slow them down. No sir! Onward they traveled in search of the nearest Orc encampment belonging to the Mountaintooth Clan. Though they arrived late in the evening, the Tempests were allowed to stay outside the clan's settlement until the morning, wherein they encountered a rather unpleasant goblin chief, Clorm. After numerous threats of putting the goblin in Lakin's soul cage, they learned of another creature encroaching on the Aashkaht's territory, causing the fire beast to travel further south and harass the Mountaintooth clan. Based on the vague descriptions given, the Tempests assumed it was their kobold's reincarnated companion Hambjerger and set off to see if this was, in fact, their little velociraptor. We rejoin them now as they head further north in search of 'The Old Vein', a mine that this White Death had taken as their lair. We have merch!
Last we left off, the Tempests were making their way West across the Alboran Sea to get back to the continent of Drago. There waited a misplaced friend, and a couple clans of greenskins that Lakin was charged with wiping off the map. The journey was anything but smooth sailing, but in the end, it was nothing the Tempests couldn't handle! The final hurdle was making it across the wide expanse of water to get to High Tide, the pirate stronghold. Though it would seem like the request would be somewhat difficult, Kasumi requested a favor from the local thieves guild. The request was graciously granted, and the Velvet Dagger called in a favor of his own to have a ship take the Tempests and their Wagon Home to the other side of the world. Climbing aboard the Mirthless Gull, they set off for High Tide! Along the way, Pez and Lakin began working on a cursed project... Giving Cassie, their Wagon home, LEGS! Though a bit short on materials, the design was in place and progress underway. We rejoin them now after a week of being on the water with High Tide coming into view. We have merch! Vahdet-i vücûda yönelik Teftâzânî'nin yönelttiği eleştirilerden biri, Allah'ın vücûd (varlık) diye bir adının naslarda geçmediği, bir kimsenin kendi zannından hareketle Allah'a vücûd ismini veremeyeceği şeklindedir.
The Chatterbox Bearcats crew sits down for an in-depth, honest, and revealing interview with Viktor Lakin, the former Cincinnati Bearcats forward who opens up like never before about his time at UC, the challenges he faced under Wes Miller, and how his career changed after leaving Cincinnati. Lakin candidly addresses the puzzling on-court usage during his final season with the Bearcats, detailing how inconsistent roles, lineup changes, and unclear expectations impacted both his confidence and development. He speaks openly about moments that frustrated him, what he felt was misunderstood by the coaching staff, and why certain decisions “made no sense” from a player's perspective. One of the most emotional parts of the interview comes when Lakin discusses being booed by Cincinnati fans, explaining how it affected him mentally and emotionally during games at Fifth Third Arena. He reflects on the pressure of playing in a passionate basketball city, the disconnect he sometimes felt with the fanbase, and how difficult it was to perform while dealing with outside noise. After transferring to Clemson, Lakin's career took a major turn. He breaks down why the move was necessary, how his role changed immediately, and what allowed him to flourish in a new system. At Clemson, Lakin became a key contributor, showing the version of his game many Bearcats fans never fully got to see. He explains the freedom he was given, the trust he earned, and how that environment helped him rediscover his confidence. The conversation also dives into Lakin's journey beyond college basketball, including his experience playing in the NBA G League with the Oklahoma City organization. Beni aşağıdaki link'lerden destekleyebilirsiniz:www.patreon.com/yenihallerYeni Haller'in bir de Buy Me A Coffee hesabı var artık. Think AI is just for coming up with hooks and generating images? Think again. Daniel sits down with Phil Lakin, Head of Enterprise Innovation at Zapier, to reveal how marketers can turn AI into a measurable growth engine, partner, and automation tool. Phil breaks down the biggest mistakes teams make when adding AI to their workflows. What does mapping have to do with automation? Turns out, you should map workflows manually before implementing anything AI-related. He also shares quick wins that save Marketers 20-40 hours a week. Plus, who should lead the charge? Daniel and Phil discuss how the next leaders in AI will be skilled people managers who know how to guide and evaluate a team of digital agents just as they would human employees. If you're ready to make AI a trusted partner and part of your workflow, this is the episode for you. Check out Zapier + build and ship AI workflows in minutes: https://zapier.com/ Zapier has nearly 8,000 integrations, so you can automate with AI without relying on engineering. That means you can roll out AI-powered workflows that do real work across your whole company in minutes, not weeks. Turn disconnected data into lush campaign insights, automate your sales outreach and follow-up, and clear your IT ticket queue faster. The possibilities are endless. On Wednesday, Tulsa's City Council is set to vote on an ordinance that would limit what Tulsans can do on sidewalks and medians. The proposed ordinance comes after two incidents, one in 2023, and one in 2024, where two separate people were killed while standing in center medians.Councilor Phil Lakin, who spoke to The Frontier on Monday about the ordinance, said it was about public safety. Many medians in Tulsa are narrow, and in zones where the speed limit is above 25 miles per hour, he believes standing in the median is a safety hazard. The ordinance would also potentially apply to sidewalks that are within 18 inches of the street as well. But when it comes to enforcement, some, including City Councilor Laura Bellis, fear the ordinance will only be applied to those panhandling, and she fears fines associated with the ordinance could prove too costly. On this episode of Listen Frontier, we hear from Bellis, Lakin, and Deputy Council Administrator Sarah Davis ahead of Wednesday's meeting. This is Listen Frontier, a podcast exploring the investigative journalism of the Frontier and featuring conversations with those on the frontlines of Oklahoma's most important stories. In this episode, I sit down with Derek Lakin, a mindfulness teacher and Awareness Guide whose journey from deep depression to emotional resilience is nothing short of powerful. Derek opens up about the moment he nearly ended his life, and how a last-minute suggestion from his therapist led him to try ketamine therapy. But what truly transformed his life wasn't just the treatment—it was the years of mindfulness practice that allowed him to receive its lessons, integrate emotional tools, and slowly rebuild a sense of self-worth, presence, and purpose. We explore what it really means to meet yourself where you are, especially when anxiety, shame, or disconnection make that feel nearly impossible. Derek shares how practical mindfulness practices helped him stay grounded, begin to trust life again, and ultimately teach others to do the same. If you've ever struggled to just “be” with your emotions, or you're looking for tools that go deeper than surface-level advice, this conversation offers hope, honesty, and a way forward. Three Key Takeaways 1. The most powerful shifts often start with one uncomfortable moment of stillness. 2. Healing isn't about striving—it's about learning to listen differently to what's already inside you. 3. There are tools that can help you feel grounded, even when life feels completely untethered. The moment we stop trying to escape discomfort is the moment we start accessing real power. To contact Derek: https://www.mindfulnesschangeslives.com/ Get your FREE Boundaries Ebook here! O, 10 yaşında tikintidə usta yanında işləməyə başladı, bir müddət ticarətlə məşğul oldu, nəhayət, 40 yaşından sonra milyonçuya, iri sahibkara çevrildi. Lakin öz var-dövlətini heç vaxt bütə çevirmədi, onu xalqına sərf etdi. Müstəqil milli dövlətin mövcud olmadığı bir dövrdə öz fəaliyyəti ilə bir dövlətin görə biləcəyi işləri gördü. Sənaye müəssisələri açdı, iş yerləri yaratdı, yerli iqtisadiyyatın inkişafına təkan verdi. Azərbaycanda xeyriyyəçilik və mesenatlıq hərəkatının lideri kimi millətin qayğısına qalaraq məktəblər açdı, yüzlərlə gəncin təhsil almasına yardım göstərdi, mətbuatı, teatrı himayə etdi, ehtiyacı olanlara əl tutdu. O, millətinin gələcəyini düşünən, həmin gələcək üçün çalışan bir şəxsiyyət olub. Vəfatından 100 il keçsə də, onun adı və əməlləri bugünədək unudulmayıb, qədirbilən xalqının yaddaşında əbədi həkk olunub.Təşəkkürlər Libraff: https://www.instagram.com/libraff.az/Əldə etmək üçün: https://www.libraff.az/kitab/qeyri-bdii-dbiyyat/bioqrafiya-avtobioqrafiya-and-xatir/sxavt-dunyasnn-srvri/
In this episode of The Electorette, host Jen Taylor-Skinner is joined by Sophia Lin Lakin, Director of the ACLU's Voting Rights Project, to discuss the organization's leading legal challenge against a dangerous new executive order from Donald Trump. While the SAVE Act has stalled in the Senate, this executive order picks up where it left off—imposing a proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration and threatening to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters. Lakin breaks down the overlapping threats, including mass voter roll purges and the decertification of voting machines that could throw election systems into chaos. This conversation is a critical look at how the ACLU is working to defend voting rights and prevent the erosion of our democratic institutions. Episode Chapters (00:00) Disenfranchisement Through Voting Restrictions Discussion of ACLU lawsuit against Trump's executive order on voter registration, potential disenfranchisement, and impact on voting machines. (12:36) Challenging Voter Registration Provisions A court has issued an injunction against an executive order changing voter registration, impacting organizations and upcoming elections.
