Andrew Begley! I also go over a summary of todays show.   2:21 We discuss the NBA's injury problem: We go over the important players (and role players) who have been missing due to injury in the playoffs, why the Bubble and a shortened season is not an excuse, and how this has been a major issue for YEARS even prior to March 2020. We also discuss the problem with rest, the problem with training/coaching today (With quotes from Tim Grover who trained Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Wade), how strength training is not the priority it once was, and how players today do not have the proper foundation of strength. We bring up examples of how players were far healthier in the past, and able to play full seasons (using 91-92 NBA season data as an example). We talk about how many players actually played a full 72 games in the NBA in 20-21, and why this is a major cause for concern.  Discussion censored around the myths about positive evolution of the game, the whole "bigger/faster/stronger" myth, etc 59:03 I close the show... thank you for tuning in!

Andrew Begley! I also go over a summary of todays show. 2:40 Main Topics: The term superstar is used loosely today, and much different from the past. We discuss why this is, and who we consider to be superstars today 23:04 Main Topics: I believe the 99-00 Blazers would be the best team in the NBA today, and possibly more effective than the early 2000s Kings and mid 00's Suns. Andrew and I discuss the strengths and weaknesses of that squad, and how they would translate to this era of hoops. 33:14 Main Topics: We discuss the holes in Giannis game, the mind boggling ways defense and offense are played today, why we are sick of the "advanced offense and defense" claims, and the context people are missing. 54:08 Worst Twitter Takes of the Week: Stephen A Smith states that Donovan Mitchell is the greatest Jazz player in the organizations history. We discuss why this is just another mindless hot take in order to get people talking (Hey, it worked, look at us), and why it is a statement that is incredibly premature 1:04:00 I close the show. Andrew Begley! I also go over a summary of todays show. 3:14 Main Topics: Candace Parker stated that DeMar DeRozan would be considered one of the greatest players ever if he played in past eras. We discuss why this statement doesn't make sense and why hot takes like this cater to the casual fanbase. We add plenty of context and reasoning to why DeMar would NOT be considered one of the greatest ever if he played in past eras. 36:00 Main Topics: Draymond Green stated that he believes he is the greatest defender in NBA history... we go over why we feel this take is disrespectful, ignorant, and again another hot take that wasn't followed up on with any context. 46:15 Main Topics: Twitter user with a high follower account, and some influence, stated on Twitter that Patrick Ewing if he played today would have a career like Steven Adams... We discuss why this makes no sense, why these two were completely different players with completely different abilities, and make other comparisons more fitting for Adams. 52:00 Main Topics: A Twitter user states that the Bulls would have "no rings" without Steve Kerr....  57:55: Main Topics: We briefly discuss the trade deadline, and msotly focus on the Bulls acquiring Vucevic and Theis. 1:15:00 Mailbag: Dime Dropper on Twitter asks why DeMar DeRozan can't even be one of the top players in todays NBA outside of questionable ability behind the 3PT line. 1:20:39 Mailbag: Mud asks what numbers we believe Wilt Chamberlain would put up today 1:30:26 I close the show... thanks for tuning in!

Andrew Begley! I also go over a summary of todays show. 5:00 Main Topics: CJ McCollum asks Kevin Durant what he would average in an era (black and white picture), but we believe has not idea the context behind that era, or even what era he is discussing. The picture is from a 1920s high school basketball game. We discuss the adjustments KD would have to make if a 15 year old version of himself was thrown into that era of hoops. We discuss rules, the state of basketball at the time, and why CJ doing this (And players in general), add toxicity to basketball discussion.   26:30 Main Topics: The Denver Nuggets went for three with a wide open layup opportunity while only being down by 2 to the Wizards. Not only did they have an open layup, the play was a 3-1 initially, and ended up being a 4-1 with plenty of time to get the easy two to send the game into OT. Jamal Murray picked up his dribble early, and Porter Jr, Compazzo and Morris failed to fill the wide open lane. We discuss why this occurred, and why it is concerning. 53:50 Main Topics: The Thunder and Hawks played a game both wearing dark, and similar colors. Thunder in Orange, Hawks in red, it was hard to distinguish the two teams. We discuss why this is happening, why it is actually against the rules enacted in 2017, and how it can impact the game. 1:01:55 Mailbag: Pat Ram on Twitter asks who was the better in game dunker, Shawn Kemp or Dominique Wilkins 1:12:22 Mailbag: Harlequin asks: How should basketball purists look at this current era of superteams and offensive statistical inflation? It’s difficult for me to take much of it seriously and compare any of it legitimately to pre-2010 ball. Would love to hear your take. 1:24:45 Worst Twitter Takes of the Week: Rob McLamb on Twitter states "There is no sport in the world that has seen as massive of a leap in athleticism and overall performance in the 21st century like pro basketball and the NBA. Guys in the NBA now are freakish compared to the 20th century. EuroLeague players now would dominate in 1980’s NBA." 1:40:20 I close the show... thanks for tuning in!

I use Pau Gasol and Marc Gasol quotes as examples. We also discuss one dimensional players being produced by the current AAU systems, and being taught to our youth in general. We also use examples of Anthony Davis struggling to score on Jimmy Butler (not knowing how to use his size), and players like Embiid who also do not use their size well, are slow, and have poor footwork. 17:58 I bring up a Marc Gasol quote about stats and how they are killing the game. We discuss why the media focuses so much on them. We also touch on why so many bigs of the past did not shoot threes, when indeed they could. 30:00 We discuss a Coby White quote where he states that he was told that mid range shots are a bad shot, and was told not to shoot them even though he has them in his repertoire. We also touch on why competition isn't what it used to be, and how pride is sorely missing in todays game (And why) 37:20 Distraction by technology: We talk about how distracted this generation is, and how that is impacted focus. Kids are coming up now with incredibly short attention spans, and we talk also about social engineering and how that impacts behavior/habits 46:11 Kyrie Irving in 2019 stated that no defense is being played in the NBA today. I read the full quote, and we discuss. 51:25 I talk about how athletes from the past were more than equipped to achieve elite athleticism, and use examples of players throughout history. 1:00:00 We discuss why it is telling that Mitchell Robinson was playing in the NBA and didn't know who Hakeem Olajuwon was, why Penny Hardaways recruit to Memphis had never seen a Penny highlight, and why we don't believe most kids coming up don't truly love the game the same was as prior generations. 1:04:00 I read a Kevin Garnett quote about the AAU system and how much it has hurt the game of basketball, and we discuss. 1:10:30 I close the show, thank you for tuning in!

How do you think the NBA can better involve fans be more educated on the history of the game?
