It's been widely reported that both parties shared a mutual interest in getting that extension done sooner rather than later.Well, sooner rather than later turned out to mean Day 1.The Lakers and Davis agreed Friday to a 3-year, $186 million max extension that keeps him under contract with the Lakers for the next five seasons, and locks in a star for the team that extends past the (presumed) end of the LeBron James Era. The Lakers looked awful in Game 2 upstate, and needed to bounce back in a big way Saturday night in Game 3. And bounce back they did.Anthony Davis returned to his big game ways, with 25 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and four blocks. LeBron James, who didn't take a shot in the first quarter and didn't play in the fourth, still finished with 21 points on 6-11 from the floor, and 7-8 from the line. D'Angelo Russell carried the Lakers offensively in the first half, and finished with 21 points. Lonnie Walker IV, getting the Troy Brown minutes, gave the Lakers 12 points in 24 minutes.Overall, the Lakers got back to the line, limited turnovers, and actually made 3-pointers (48.4%). And when that happens, it's really hard to beat them. Especially when the defense is cranked up to the level it was on Saturday.
