Ray Allen, Tracy McGrady, Steve Nash, Shaquille O'neal, Jason White Chocolate Williams, Reggie Miller. These are my favorite NBA players. I know everyone has their own list, but I have this list for a reason. Ray Allen because he was the hardest working player in his day, and he was clutch and he had a all around game. Also Ray Allen was a true professional. Tracy McGrady would be the best player of all time if it wasn't for injuries. Tracy McGrady to be is the best basketball player of all time. Steve Nash changed the game. I think Steve Nash is the most creative player to ever play in the NBA. Shaquille O'neal is the most dominant athlete of any sport ever. Completely unstoppable. Jason Williams could have been just as good or better than Steve Nash, I'm still not sure why he never reached that level. Reggie Miller to me like a off brand version of Ray Allen. He did almost everything Ray Allen could do except he had no inside game like Ray Allen and I don't think he was as clutch, even though he was very clutch. rb.gy/zltov

Wilton sits down with Angel Reyes-Muñiz, the first Mexican basketball player from New York City to play for the Mexican national team. Reyes is a true hooper at heart and a student of the game. But his journey as a player—one that is still evolving—goes beyond the hardwood. The Bronx native became the first person to graduate in his family in September 2022 when he earned an associate degree from Rockland Community College. He credits his mom as his biggest inspiration to keep striving for more and not giving up on his dreams. As he continues to build on his hoop dreams, Reyes has multiple years of college eligibility remaining. His goal is to land with a program that will position him to one day get a chance to play in the NBA. It helps that he has relationships with former legends like Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Kyrie Irving to help him navigate the process. Sit back and get ready to listen as he dives into his hoop dreams, the lessons he learned on the courts in NYC, his relationship with his mom, the international growth among the NBA and some of his previous and recent brand collaborations away from the court.
Athleticwear brand Legends wants to be the Lululemon of professional sports. The company -- which sells products like basketball shorts, swim trunks and athletic tees -- launched in 2019 with a slew of professional athlete investors. Since then, the company has brought on more influencers to its program and -- thanks to these partners -- has seen sales consistently grow, even though it hasn't focused much on organic marketing. In 2020, the company made about $10 million, and that grew the following year to about $16 million. This year, said co-founder and CEO Scott Hochstadt, the focus is on really growing the business. "We're at a point where we've we've built the brand," he said. He's hired a crack team of retail and marketing operators who are "ready to accelerate things and scale it out." He joined the Modern Retail Podcast this week and talked about the growth strategy behind Legends. Hochstadt knows a thing or two about sports and celebrities. After playing lacrosse in college, he brought the sport to the West Coast and ended up launching a lacrosse lifestyle brand that he ultimately sold. Then, with a business partner who was working with big sports stars Kobe Bryant at the time, Legends was born. "We have the biggest athletes in the world training with us in this spot," said Hochstadt, "and I have the factories and I have the design capabilities to build products for these guys." And so, Legends launched with the help of quarterback Baker Mayfield and NBA stars Steve Nash and Matt Barnes, among others. The white space that Hochstadt saw was a premium sportswear company that speaks to a certain type of athlete. "Vuori is more lifestyle yoga," he said. "Lulu is your wife's brand that makes men's products now." For the first couple of years, Legends held individual activations to get the word out. For example, it would sponsor shows with celebrities and hold drops of limited-edition apparel. This helped establish the brand as something more on the elite tier. But the focus now is on going from small brand major athletes like to a mainstream name. "We spent a couple of years just building out the team, building out the products and building out the brand," said Hochstadt. "Now the team is in place, and… this will be our biggest growth year."
JD Bunkis is joined by Blake Murphy, host of Jays Talk Plus, to break down all the action from the Denver Nuggets NBA Championship! They go over how impressed they were by Nikola Jokic's play, if it's still too early to debate where he ranks all time, and if Jamal Murray's performance in the Finals could elevate him above Steve Nash as Canada's best basketball player. (02:34) Later on, JD asks Blake what question he would want to ask Darko Rajakovic if he had the "truth serum", before weighing in on Fred VanVleet declining his player option for the 2023-24 season (45:02). We wrap up with today's best bet, presented by Betano! Easy Game One victory for Nuggets, led by their superstars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Walton authored Back from the Dead, his outstanding memoir chronicling the way he overcame pain. Bill Walton has special affection for players like Jamal Murray (knee), MPJ (spine), and Jeff Green (heart) for overcoming health challenges. Learn about the critical moments along the way in 1977 when Walton's Trailblazers won the NBA, and the Big Redhead was MVP and Finals MVP. They broke Denver hearts along the way. Walton was Sixth Man of the Year (85-86) as he helped Larry Bird and Boston win the championship. Steve Nash's Hall of Fame basketball career began with just one college scholarship offer. Born in South Africa and raised in Canada, Steve played multiple sports before focusing on basketball. It was his relentless drive that helped him transform from an unheralded recruit out of high school to a college mid-major star to a first round NBA draft pick. Steve went on to play 18 seasons in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Lakers. He earned two MVP awards, eight All-Star selections, and is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Steve has served as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, consultant to the Golden State Warriors, and General Manager of Canada's Men's National Team. Off the court, he continues to deliver assists through the Steve Nash Foundation and is making his mark as an entrepreneur. His new training app BLOCK is centered around enhancing your healthspan through movement and daily routines. On this episode, we talk about the drive to get better, the mindset of the best and maximizing your potential.

In Episode 1407, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors.com) to discuss the reports of the Toronto Raptors interviewing Steve Nash for their head coaching position as well as how the Miami Heat's run through the Eastern Conference informs their feelings on the Raptors' current situation. Off the top, they discuss why Steve Nash is not someone they'd like to see the Raptors hire, even if it's harmless to talk to him as part of their wide-ranging search. Next, Sean and Vivek chat about the Miami Heat's run through what was thought to be a very top-heavy East, and how it informs their feelings on where the Raptors sit after a disappointing 41-41 season. Was it a missed opportunity for them not to make it through the play-in? Or does it indicate a changing league landscapei in which the Raptors aren't as far away from where they want to be as they're painted to be? Lastly, ahead of what promises to be a massive summer for player movement, should the Raptors look to get involved? Or wait it out and see where they sit when the dust settles.
