Former Brooklyn Nets coach Kenny Atkinson is reportedly (along with Darvin Ham and Terry Stotts) among the finalists for the Lakers head coaching job. His tenure hit a high point while guiding a young team featuring D'Angelo Russell, Spencer Dinwiddie and Jarrett Allen, but once Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving arrived, Atkinson's job security felt immediately in danger, which raises questions about his ability to coach LeBron James, Anthony Davis and (possibly) Russell Westbrook. Then again, in fairness to Atkinson, his time in Brooklyn was also very specifically weird, meaning it may not be fair to think of him as best suited for a rebuilding squad, rather than one with a directive to be ready for primetime. All these issues (and more!) are presented to Adam Ambrecht, co-host of the Locked On Nets podcast, who covered the man who preceded Steve Nash. Armbrecht shares thoughts on Atkinson's pros and cons, his system, the fit alongside big stars, and whether he got a fair shake. Plus, which franchise would you rather be at this moment, and is Kyrie manufacturing excuses to get out of playing 82 games a year? Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky Segment 1: Adam Ambrecht breaks down Kenny Atkinson's alternately successful, underwhelming, and just weird time while coaching the Nets. Segment 2: Would Atkinson be able to handle the Lakers' star-laden locker room? Does his personality lend itself well to this? Segment 3: Are the Nets or Lakers in a worse place as a franchise now and moving forward? Plus, Andy asks Adam about his theory that Kyrie Irving doesn't want to play basketball full-time. It's a discussion that focuses on the situations are in right now with Irving and why the team is in such a weird spot with both him and Ben Simmons. Celtics PRIDE: Heading Into Game 2 vs Milwaukee Josh and Mike are without Adam Motenko on this episode of the Celtics Pride Podcast heading into game 2 vs the Milwaukee Bucks. After a difficult game 1 in the series, Mike and Josh give their analysis on what went wrong and how to regroup. They compare the Bucks stifling defense to our own, and the Bucks overall play to the Brooklyn Nets. MIke shares why he believes Kevin Durant was looking at Jayson Tatum the way Tatum must be looking at Giannis right now. Then Josh doubles down on the Bucks defensive acumen by explaining how they made it difficult for the Celtics to simply get the ball over half court. The Pride Guys continue to undress the mess of the past few days since game 1 by going through each narrative, theory and take they've heard from national and local media in a round of their new game, “How Much Weight” where they ask “how much weight does that theory hold?” They address the injuries, the turnovers, the lack of shooting, and the poor play by certain individuals, and whether any one person in particular should be blamed. They get metaphysical, but only for a few moments, in response to some side chatter from Steve Nash and Raja Bell regarding how teams who cut corners and cheat the game are looked down upon by the basketball gods. When the Celtics revert back to their “old ways” of undisciplined habits, are they cheating the game, or just getting “punked” as Ime Udoka once called it? Josh then ends the episode by providing some historical perspective on Marcus Smart's Defensive Player Of The Year Award. He reveals how rare it is for a guy his size to win it - we all remember that the only other point guard to win the award was Gary Payton, but who were the other two 6'4” guards to win the award? It's a defensive themed podcast as we celebrate the Celtics Bucks series bringing back the old 1990's Eastern Conference physical NBA games, with Jrue Holiday and Marcus Smart headlining the event. Shout out to all the 6'4 and under DPOY guards, and to those yet to come. Tune in to get your Celtics fix. Robert Horry opens the show with a strong statement - after the Nets got swept by Boston, it was clear to him that Steve Nash should NOT have been coaching that team. Rob goes on to say that Steve's lack of experience, coupled with the red-hot Celtics and all the drama, will make for a very interesting off-season in Brooklyn. We also get props from Rob on the Celtics coaching staff, how Ben Simmons has let social media affect his game, and Rob takes exception with Charles Barkley's comments about how some guys were bus drivers and other guys were just on the bus because he was a huge piece of those championship teams. Rob and the crew also joke about the wild story about Shaq coaching the Lakers, the idiot that decided to try and fight Mike Tyson on a plane, and a Big Shot of the Week for Grizzlies star Ja Morant. And a round of Shot Clock rounds out a really fun show!

The Brooklyn Nets are done for the season after getting swept by Boston in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. There are many calling for Steve Nash to be fired. Why? Today's word of the day is ‘sweep' as in get the brooms as in 0 wins as in 4 losses as in the Brooklyn Nets have gotten swept by the Boston Celtics. On today's episode, I commend the Toronto Raptors for upsetting the Philadelphia 76ers twice after their series should've ended. Also, the Nets got eliminated, and they are pretty much gonna run it back again next year. Also, why "love to hate" the Brooklyn Nets is a pro-management argument, and Kevin Durant deciding to keep Steve Nash as the Head Coach. Finally, the Utah Jazz are ABSOLUTELY collapsing vs the Dallas Mavericks in the same laughable way they did back in 2021, Luka Doncic getting a deep playoff run being great for all of us, and the Jazz shooting an unbelievable 10% from 3 Point Range in Game 5!!
