In this illuminating episode of Parallax, Dr Ankur Kalra engages with Dr Jonathan Drezner, Director of Sports Cardiology at the University of Washington, who explores the complex world of cardiovascular risk in competitive athletes. Dr Drezner traces the evolution of sports cardiology from watershed moments involving high-profile athletes like Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis to today's sophisticated screening protocols. The conversation reveals startling statistics about sudden cardiac death—particularly among specific athlete populations where risks are significantly higher than previously thought. The discussion delves into the limitations of traditional screening questionnaires versus the enhanced detection capabilities of ECG testing, highlighting how proper interpretation has dramatically reduced false positives. Dr Drezner articulates the shift from universal disqualification to personalized risk assessment for athletes with cardiac conditions, emphasizing the critical elements of effective emergency action plans that can mean the difference between life and death on the playing field. Listeners will gain valuable insights into both common and rare cardiac conditions affecting athletes, from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy to anomalous coronary arteries, while understanding the three pillars of modern sports cardiology: epidemiology, screening, and management. This episode offers essential knowledge for cardiologists, sports medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in athlete cardiac care. Smartphones. Tablets. TVs. Most kids in the United States have access to some kind of device with a screen, and it's almost certain they are using it daily. Ted Lowe, Buck Buchanan, and Reggie Lewis discuss the gravitational pull of technology and how screens are taking over our homes. Even if you've successfully limited screen time with your kids, the stats on tech use are incredible. In his book The Anxious Generation, Jonathan Haidt shares this eye-opening data about kids' growing technology addiction:· American kids ages 8-12 view a screen for nearly 5 hours per day on average. · Teens' screen time exceeds 7 hours per day on average.· Over 70% of teens don't get the recommended amount of sleep due to screen usage. · Attention spans have decreased in children by nearly 50% during the last 15 years due in part to screens. · 72% of parents expressed concern about their children's screen time but many feel ill-equipped to manage it.Technology has the same effect on the portion of the brain that impacts function and impulse control as cocaine. Screen time is highly addictive. How do we handle this growing technology addiction as parents? Here are a few tips from The Anxious Generation.1. Open Communication2. Set Clear Screen Time Limits3. On April 8, 1995, Reggie Lewis's body was found in a creek behind the Dalebridge Apartments in Warrensville Heights, OH. He had two gunshot wounds to the back of his head. Willie and Ashunte Smith are serving life sentences for his murder based on testimony by their own cousin, William Marshall. Marshall recanted in 2022 and now swears it was actually his uncle who committed the crime but Marshall was so frightened at the time—by his uncle and the police—he was pressured into lying under oath and sending his cousins to prison. The Ohio courts recently granted Willie and Ashunte a new trial. Ever step on a LEGO? It feels like a sniper got you from the rooftop. It hurts even more if you asked your kids to put them away 50 times and they didn't. So, what happens? Usually, we get angry, even if we don't want to. On today's episode, Ted Lowe, Bobby Lewis, and Reggie Lewis talk about how to deal with father anger issues. Would you react calmly or angrily to the LEGO situation? Why is your tendency? Our reactions matter. When we are triggered by our children, we can react in ways that push them away in ways we later regret. The research is clear on this. When you are triggered, your brain releases chemicals that send you into a fight-or-flight response while significantly limiting the logical part of your brain. While we should love our lightning-fast reaction times, the amygdala is often so efficient that our reaction times hurt our relationships. But we are not victims of our amygdala; there are some really practical, clear ways to respond. When we get angry, our kids focus more on our reaction than their behavior. So, control your reaction as best you can. How? Pausing to breathe and listen. Fight the urge to immediately react. This approach gives you the space to be the dad you want to be and the one your kid needs you to be. Today's Pro Move: Pause the next time your child triggers your anger. It will help you be more of who you want to be and more of who your kid needs you to be. Can you ride a unicycle? For how long? Sure, some guys can but most of us need a little extra support to keep from crashing. The same goes for parenting. You can try to ride it out solo, hoping for the best, but having supportive people in your life to lift you up when things get shaky is a great idea as a dad. Ted Lowe, Bobby Lewis, and Reggie Lewis talk about how to be a great dad and why all fathers shouldn't try to handle the task of raising kids on their own. Society tells men to be strong and self-sufficient, the hero who solves every family problem. But asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign that you care enough about your kids to do whatever is best for them and leads to their flourishing. It takes courage to build a support team to help you weather meltdowns and share the journey. Why is important to ask other people to help you be a great dad? Consider this:1. You may be missing something. 2. You may be giving your kid bad advice.3. You sometimes need to bring a pro. 4. You feel less pressure as a dad. The research is clear. We need other people in our lives to help us be the dads we want to be. Who do we choose to help us? Is it a coach? Pastor? Neighbor? Who can you trust to speak into your child's life to create a strong support system for them and for you? Answer this question and the weight of parenting will become a little lighter. Dee Brown joins the show and opens up on a turbulent 90's decade in Boston. Brown is the lone Celtic that played Larry Bird and Reggie Lewis AND played for coach Rick Pitino. In this episode, we begin in 1990, when a rookie Brown becomes a Celtic in the midst of a major transition for Boston. After winning three championships and making eight straight Conference Finals in the 80's, Boston lost in the first round in 1988 and 1989. Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish's championship window was closing, but a young phenom, Reggie Lewis, seemed ready to take the torch and define a new era. In 1991 and 1992, Lewis averaged 25 points per game in the playoffs and the Celtics won over 50 games each year. But Boston's seemingly perfect bridge between the Bird and Lewis era suddenly collapsed in the summer of 1993. Lewis' 1993 season was cut short after he mysteriously collapsed in a playoff game. Shortly after the season, doctors cleared him, but as he was training at Brandeis University, he suffered cardiac arrest and died. He was just 27 years old.In the years following Lewis' death, the Celtics tanked out. They failed to win over 35 games from 1994-1996, and in 1997, they went 15-67, by far the worst season in franchise history.Enter Rick Pitino in the Spring of 1997, who was named the savior, but disaster would turn out to be the more accurate label. Midway through Pitino's first season as Head Coach and Team President, Brown was packaged in the infamous Chauncey Billups for Kenny Anderson trade. We hope you enjoy this episode. Labels can have a profound impact on our children, influencing how we view them, treat them, discipline them, and ultimately, how they view and treat themselves. Reggie Lewis tragically passed away 30 years ago (1993) at the age of just 27. This is an updated re-release of episode 27 with my great mate, Todd Spehr. We recorded our chat ten years ago to mark the 20th anniversary of Lewis' sudden passing.I've added numerous audio clips for greater context, edited our original conversation and improved its sound quality. We discussed the life and times of Reggie - from his days at Dunbar High School, to his tenure at Northeastern University and ultimately, rise from seldom-used NBA rookie to captain of the famed Boston Celtics. Todd mentioned the poem that Reggie's widow, Donna Harris-Lewis, read to the Boston Garden faithful on Reggie Lewis Night in 1995. Audio of that poignant moment also now features. This is a fresh listening experience even for the most-diehard fan clamoring for a new episode – of which, to be sure – many more are planned for release throughout the rest of 2023. Most of the additional audio in this episode was sourced from TV broadcasts aired at the time of Lewis' passing. They were thankfully preserved by Tim Theriault.Support: Buy Adam a coffee | Amazon: USA / Australia | Audible | PayPalListen: Apple Podcasts | Google Podcasts | Spotify | OvercastFollow: Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | FacebookSubscribe (free): NBA-history newsletter[as an Amazon Associate, Adam earns from qualifying purchases - you'll be supporting his podcast at no extra cost]

The Underdogs Podcast with Jordan Daly, Mike Taylor, and Craig Smith
For Episode 19 of the Underdogs Podcast, we sat down with and interviewed the 4th overall pick of the 2001 NBA Draft, Eddy Curry. Eddy Curry was quickly labeled "a bust" by many fans, who didn't know the full story. In a short time span, Eddy went through more hard times than most people do in an entire lifetime, and he prevailed. This is a story of overcoming adversities to succeed. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, Eddy spent most of his early years wanting to be a gymnast. In the 7th grade, Eddy picked up a basketball for the first time and very quickly found success. He was very quickly introduced to the AAU circuits and skyrocketed up the scouting boards. After dominating high school basketball, he was invited to numerous high-end basketball camps, which he credits with bringing his name into the mix. With only 6 years of basketball experience, Eddy entered the draft straight out of high school knowing he'd be a top 5 pick. He ends up being drafted by his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls, with the 4th pick in the infamous "Kwame Brown" draft. After a slow rookie year due to a lot of positional competition, he bursts out in his second year, leading the NBA in field goal percentage. He became the first Bull since Michael Jordan to lead the NBA in a major statistical category. We then fast forward to the 2004-05 NBA Season. Eddy starts noticing an irregular heartbeat. He reports this to the team doctors, which lead to him being hospitalized. With Doctors worried he may have the same heart issue that lead to Reggie Lewis and Hank Gathers' deaths, the Bulls bench him. The Bulls offer him $400K a year for the rest of his life if he would agree to take a DNA test to see if he was predisposed to heart issues. After talking with his agent, he declines, since a positive test would instantly end his career. (We chose not to discuss this next chapter of Eddy's life during the podcast out of respect, but we want you to be well informed.) While dealing with these heart issues, Eddy's family is robbed at gunpoint. In a separate instance, Eddy's ex-girlfriend and newborn daughter are murdered in front of his son's eyes. Doctors are worried that Eddy's heart may be too large, so they tell him to sit out and not exercise so his heart can shrink down to normal size. This is where he gained that weight that fans so often ridiculed him for. We discuss the mental approach he had the be able to continue on while dealing with all of these things. It's extremely incredible that he was able to deal with these things while being a professional athlete in the public eye. On a lighter note, Eddy also tells us some never before heard stories about Jay-Z and Fat Joe during his time in New York with the Knicks. Put some respect on his name. This week's episode of the Celtics Pride Podcast with Adam Motenko, Josh Motenko @coachmotenko and Mike Minkoff @mikeminkoffnba, the crew brings in special Guest Rich Jensen, who received rave internal reviews for his CelticsBlog article “Greatness, Glory and The Truth” about Paul Pierce's legacy in the wake of his recent NBA Hall Of Fame Induction. One commenter stated “this is one of the best articles I've ever read on celticsblog.” Go check it out and tune into this podcast, to hear where we think Paul Pierce ranks among his contemporaries of his era like Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Iverson, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Reggie Miller and Grant Hill. Rich Jensen wrote about the difference between generations of Celtics fans. “My dad had grown up with Russell and Cousy, Heinsohn and Havlicek. I grew up with Dee Brown and Reggie Lewis, Rick Fox and Brian Shaw.” Tune in to see where Rich (and his dad) would put Pierce in the rankings of Celtics lore. Like Rich's dad's Celtics, this podcast is somewhat slow-paced, but is overflowing with mystique. “When he was a kid, my dad had a TV that probably weighed as much as a car, and the only thing that was on basketball wise was the Celtics. He grew up in a town of 200 people in South Dakota, similar to what it was like in the movie hoosiers. My dad was a fan of John Havelicek when he was at Ohio State before the Celtics even drafted him.” Rich continues the conversation by remembering Reggie Lewis, so the Celtics PRIDE team asks Rich where he would rank Lewis - and Jayson Tatum - in comparison to Pierce. This podcast is dedicated to anyone who remembers the 1980s, and loves Celtics basketball. 12-3-2020 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this version of the program by simplifying the difference between a good team and a bad team, a good coach and a bad coach, a great star player and a very good star player. It is whether their team wins or loses- whether their team scores in some cases one more run, one more point, or one more goal than their opponent. Seems cavalier to say that, maybe even patronizing, but we tend to judge coaches (managers) and star players by their ability to win. Most of the time, they have less to do with the winning or losing. John cited the careers of Andy Reid, Doug Pederson, Casey Stengel, Bruce Bochy, Joe Torre, Mike Brown, LeBron James, and others to prove that the best do not win all the time. But most importantly, John shows that the win or the loss is the determining factor for how good a team is, not how good the coach/ manager or star player is. John spends a little time talking about baseball and its non- tender deadline and why fans/ media need to just allow each MLB team to determine whether their players are warranted a contract for the next season. John compares the great careers of Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle and declares Mickey would win in a poll because there are less people responding to the poll that saw Joe D play. John chooses Mickey, but by the slightest of margins and explains why. Finally, why is Drazen Petrovic in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and not Reggie Lewis?
Ever been to New Bedford, MA? Michael Conceicao is in the house today and he truly made us feel the pride, passion, and rich culture that New Bedford has for its hoops. We left this conversation feeling like we actually spent time in the area and lived through some of these experiences. The basketball stories in this episode are unique and any basketball fanatic will appreciate this one. Michael Conceicao was born and raised in New Bedford MA. He was a three-year starter and two-time team captain at Bishop Stang High School before going on to play at Framingham State where he was third in the nation in assists for DIII during the 1981-82 season and was the Defensive Player of the Year. He officiated basketball for 20+ years and ran the Monte Park Shootout for over 30 years which leads to some incredible stories! Conceicao wrote several great articles including “A Day with Dr. J” that we get to hear about as well. Michael is truly a basketball historian and we can’t thank him enough for his time. It was a pleasure learning more about him and the love for hoops that New Bedford has. He also shared some great stories about Julius Erving, Nate Archibald, Joe Bryant, David Leitao, Larry Bird, Reggie Lewis, Chris Herren and MUCH more. We learned so much about the game from an officiating standpoint due to his experience as an official and these are simply hoop stories that you won’t hear anywhere else. We promise this won’t be last time that we hear from Michael Conceicao. He is welcome back ANY time!Thank You Michael Conceicao!

What happened to preparing for the contenders? How could Daryl Morey not see they glaring issues that all of us saw? 33:25 Raptors vs Celtics - We talk poor officiating, and how it impacts outcomes. We also discuss what the Celtics and Raptors did well, what they didn't do well, and what they need to do in order to win game 7 48:15 We discuss how good Reggie Lewis would be in todays NBA, as we draw comparisons to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. 59:50 Mailbag: Hoop Guru on Twitter asks if PG's 6'5" and under are overrated in history considering their success rate (Titles). He uses examples like John Stockton and Steve Nash. 1:06:20 Mailbag: Christian G on Twitter asks how do you prevent fall injuries (From jumping in traffic) at the high school level. 1:12:00 Worst Twitter Takes of the week: Twitter user ESPN.tay_ talking about LeBron James, implies that we have never seen an athlete in the NBA accomplish as much as LeBron at age 35. Kendrick Perkins echoed the same thoughts and backtracked, Andrew and I bring up Michael Jordan and what he accomplished at age 35. 1:17:10 Worst Twitter Takes of the week: Twitter user Lionx (Kobe Bean) states that Magic Johnson would be a taller worse shooting Steve Nash in todays NBA, or a more unathletic Ben Simmons. We discuss why comparing Ben Simmons and Nash to Magic is insulting. 1:21:20 I close the show Note: Cover art image credit of the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics is located below https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/10-nba-superteams-which-disappointed-the-most
On the anniversary of Larry Bird's retirement in 1992, we're bringing back an Over & Back Classic episode on the last great game of Bird's career.---Ben Taylor (Backpicks.com) joins Jason Mann to chat about Larry Bird's last great NBA performance, a 49-point triple-double in a 152-148 double OT win over Clyde Drexler and the Blazers, in the latest episode of the Over and Back Classic NBA Podcast. We discuss a thrilling game with two buzzer-beaters from Bird and Kevin Gamble, how rare it is for two teams to score more than 148 points in the same game, time catching up to the Bird-McHale-Parish Celtics, how the early 1990s Blazers are a bit underappreciated, Bird managing to remain great even with major back trouble, and how both teams enjoyed the running game. We also share some thoughts on Terry Porter, Clifford Robinson, Danny Ainge, Reggie Lewis, and a young Rick Fox.We also discuss Ben's recent Top 40 Best Careers in NBA History series (http://www.backpicks.com/2017/12/11/the-backpicks-goat-the-40-best-careers-in-nba-history/): ranking Kobe Bryant outside the top 10, LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan, and Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing being better than perhaps you remember, and talk about some of his other projects. We go back into our archives for our fourth ever episode on this, the 27th anniversary of Reggie Lewis' death to talk about the life, career and tragic death of the Boston Celtics' Reggie Lewis. Jason and Rich dive into the career timeline of Lewis, his rough upbringing in drug-riddled Baltimore, playing in high school with three other future NBA players and being recruited by Northeastern University and eventual UConn legend Jim Calhoun. The guys then move onto his NBA career, joining a still-talented but increasingly old Boston Celtics team, finally getting the reigns to himself, holding court at "The Table", duels with Michael Jordan, his final NBA game against the Charlotte Hornets and much more. Finally, a look at Lewis' untimely death, what occurred in the aftermath, how the media, players and the league covered the death and the downward spiral of the Boston Celtics franchise.

Despite being the twin towers of New England basketball, the two northeastern powerhouses share a surprisingly small degree of overlapping players over the last half-century. But, those former UConn Huskies who HAVE played for the Celtics have usually left an impression -- and in recent years, some very big ones. When I was 15 I went to the Boston Shootout and saw a kid my age, that resembled a man, dominating against guys that were 2-3 years older than him. And they were already headed to play at big time colleges. The Manchild’s name was Schea Cotton. That was the day I realized I had no future playing basketball. From that point on, I followed his career. I even had some of his pictures from Slam Magazine on my wall next to posters of Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and Reggie Lewis. Schea Cotton was the best high school player in the country in 1995 and was destined for NBA greatness. But things didn't exactly go as planned and he never played a game in the NBA. Ron Artest called him, “Lebron James before there ever was a Lebron James...” He once dunked on Kevin Garnett 3 times in an AAU game and finished the game with 38 points. KG was a senior. Schea was only a sophomore. If they only had YouTube or social media back then. Needless to say, a series of unfortunate events and outside influences derailed his NBA dreams. He did go on to play 10+ years overseas and he is currently doing a lot of work in the community in his hometown of Long Beach, CA. Mentoring, motivational speaking and player development consume him these days. He also has a documentary coming out called Manchild: The Schea Cotton Story.

NCAA great, 12-year NBA veteran and 1988 All-Star, Xavier McDaniel. The X-Man joins the show for a wide-ranging discussion about his life in basketball. Few players in NBA history were as physical as McDaniel. However, there's much more to Xavier's bow than simply being an enforcer. He was the first-ever player (1985) to lead the NCAA [Division I] in scoring and rebounding in the same season. His name is littered throughout the record books at Wichita State, where he played four seasons with the Shockers. As a senior, he was named First-team All-American. The Seattle SuperSonics drafted Xavier with the fourth pick in the 1985 NBA Draft. He played all 82 games as a rookie and was second to (future teammate and great friend) Patrick Ewing in Rookie of the Year voting. Xavier talks about his six seasons in Seattle. He discusses the impact that Maurice Lucas had on his game, speaks candidly about his role in the 1988 NBA All-Star Game and talks fondly of (would-be) future stars, Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. We discuss his trade to Phoenix (15 games into the 1991 season) and how he became a member of the New York Knicks. Though he played the one season with the Knicks, his addition to the team made New York instant contenders for the NBA title. In 1992, the Knicks extended the Chicago Bulls to seven games in the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. We discuss the series in-depth and Xavier expresses his thoughts on the series as only he can. McDaniel joined the Boston Celtics in the wake of Larry Bird's retirement. He played for three seasons in Boston. We discuss his memories of that time, how the Celtics tried to adjust to life without Bird, the soon-to-be retirement of Kevin McHale and the tragic loss of Reggie Lewis. Xavier headed overseas to play a season in Greece (1996), before returning to the NBA to close out his career as a member of the New Jersey Nets. He talks about his retirement from basketball, some of the great honors he's received and much more, in a conversation that clearly demonstrates Xavier McDaniel's passion for basketball. This is without doubt, one of the most-enjoyable conversations I've had to date. Links discussed (include): * X-Man playing for the Wichita State Shockers * Bird calls game-winner over X-Man (1987 season) * "I remember I was tired as hell!" (1990 season) * McDaniel wows The Garden faithful * "[expletive] you, X!" ... "[expletive] you, Mike!!" In a new book, sportswriter Alejandro Danois tells the story of the Dunbar High School basketball team of 1981-1982, with four future NBA players on its roster — Muggsy Bogues, Dave Wingate, Reggie Lewis and Reggie Williams — one of the greatest prep teams ever. Danois, editor-in-chief of The Shadow League sports-and-culture website, chronicles life in East Baltimore in the early 1980s and profiles the players and their coach, Bob Wade, during an undefeated season that paved the way for a national title the following year. Danois’ book is “The Boys of Dunbar: A Story of Love, Hope and Basketball,” published by Simon and Schuster.Links:https://www.theshadowleague.com/authors/102http://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Boys-of-Dunbar/Alejandro-Danois/9781451666977
What is the greatest high school basketball team of all time? Many would argue it was the Dunbar Poets of the early '80s, which featured future NBA players Muggsy Bogues, Reggie Lewis, David Wingate, and Reggie Williams. Director Sheldon Candis joins us to talk about his upcoming documentary about the team, "Baltimore Boys," and then the legendary Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues tells us what it was like being part of that celebrated squad, the secret to making it in the NBA at 5'3", and the time he blocked Manute Bol in a game of one-on-one.

Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland and with hypothetical Celtics trades on the table fans are again ready to split with Isaiah Thomas. Bobby rips the idea, before getting insight on the Irving situation from Jared as well as his memory of the death of Reggie Lewis 24 years ago. The training staff departures from Doo to Lecerte are also discussed as analytics take a greater stage within the Boston organization. Jared Sullinger's mental breakdown and the Shane Larkin signing are also hit on.
Dennis Hopson joins Zaire to discuss his memories of playing against the 80s Celtics as well as Reggie Lewis and Len Bias.
As the crack epidemic swept across inner-city America in the early 1980s, the streets of Baltimore were crime ridden. For poor kids from the housing projects, the future looked bleak. But basketball could provide the quickest ticket out, an opportunity to earn a college scholarship, and perhaps even play in the NBA. Dunbar High School had one of the most successful basketball programs, not only in Baltimore but in the entire country; and in the early 1980s, the Dunbar Poets were arguably the best high school team of all time. Four starting players -- Muggsy Bogues, Reggie Williams, David Wingate, and Reggie Lewis -- would eventually play in the NBA, an unheard-of success rate. Alejandro Danois takes us through the 1981-1982 season with the Poets as the team conquered all its opponents. But more than that, he takes us into the lives of these kids, and especially of Coach Bob Wade, a former NFL player from the same neighborhood who knew that the basketball court, and the lessons his players would learn there, held the key to the future. Drawing on interviews with Coach Wade, Muggsy Bogues, and others, The Boys of Dunbar: A Story of Love, Hope, and Basketball is a remarkable testament to the power of dedication, inspiration, and teamwork. It is an ode to an extraordinary coach, a father figure who had lived the life of his players years before and who turned a dream into reality.Alejandro Danois is editor-in-chief of The Shadow League and a freelance sports and entertainment writer. The Total Tutor Neil Haley and Coach Karen Hall will interview Duquesne Assistant Woman's Basketball Coach Eddie Benton. Benton, a native of Manchester in Pittsburgh's North Side and a graduate of Perry Traditional Academy, comes to the Bluff after serving as an assistant women's basketball coach for one season at Saint Francis University. At SFU, he helped the Red Flash to their first-ever berth in the Women's Basketball Invitational. As a player, Benton was a standout guard at the University of Vermont. The Catamounts all-time leading scorer and 2006 UVM Hall of Fame inductee, Benton was the winner of the 1996 Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award given to the nation's top basketball player less than six feet tall and the Bob Cousy Award, which is given to the best senior in the region under 6-feet tall. Benton's 2,474 points is second all-time in the America East Conference, second only to Reggie Lewis of Northeastern. He graduated as the school's career leader in 15 different offensive categories including scoring average - 23.8 points per game. Benton, who was 1996 team captain, has his number 10 retired by Vermont in 2000. He scored over 40 points in a game six times, including a school and conference record 54 points against Drexel his sophomore season. Our last show of 2014 is a special one. ‘The Baseline' team of Cal “Gameface” Lee and Warren Shaw are back to wrap up the year. And fittingly, the past week was pretty much the same as it was all 2014: loss after loss after loss with some trade talk thrown in. We'll get a different perspective this week. Two stalwarts of the Celtics-blogosphere, Mark Vandeusen and Mike Dyer of CelticsLife will stop by to give their thoughts on what is becoming an increasingly depressing situation. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel for the Celtics or is there a long rebuild ahead? Speaking of dark days for the Boston Celtics: There were none darker than following the deaths of Len Bias and Reggie Lewis and the bad Celtics basketball which ensued. Cal and Warren will talk about Larry H. Russell's debut book, “Fall of the Boston Celtics” -- which is scheduled for release on January 5th. Stay tuned to CLNS Radio or follow @CLNS_LHR on Twitter for updates. Cal and Warren will also go Around the NBA in 5.
