Introduction: Host Michael Rand watched the new-look NHL on TNT on Wednesday and came away with a positive outlook. There's something about the production quality on TNT that has always been high, and the channel has had massive success with its NBA studio show. If it can keep working to brand the NHL the same way -- having Charles Barkley playing goalie for Wayne Gretzky on Wednesday's debut was a good start -- the league will be in good hands. 5:00: Jason Gurwin from The Streamable joins the show for an update on where we stand with fans' ability -- and inability -- to watch Bally Sports North. Subscribers to Hulu and YouTube TV have been without BSN (formerly Fox Sports North) for about a year now, and there's no relief in sight. What we need now is a recalibration of our expectations. The problem is that for cord-cutters who don't want an expensive cable or satellite package, any sort of direct-to-consumer app offering a full package of in-market games they want doesn't seem to be on the immediate horizon. So viewers are stuck between the recent past and the distant future. 18:00: Rand gives some expanded thoughts on how the TV question ties into the question of legal sports gambling, while answering several reader emails from the larger story he wrote Sunday about the explosion of sports betting nationwide and what it means for Minnesota. He also shares some personal experiences about betting on offshore apps, something that is widespread. 29:00: If you're not watching the WNBA right now, you're missing out.

We got an Australian Basketball legend joining us today. We have former NBA and NBL player Lanard Copeland in the house! He is one of the NBL's great high-flyers and automatic scorers and he has an inspiring journey that is like no other. Trust us!Lanard Copeland was cut every single year from his high school team. In fact, the very first jersey that he ever wore was his first year of college basketball at Georgia State. After not being selected in the 1989 NBA Draft, Copeland again had to prove that he belonged on the basketball court. He worked his way into the NBA where he played 2 years in the NBA for the 76ers and Clippers. Copeland continued his basketball career in the NBL where he had a Hall of Fame career that included 5 All Star appearances, 2 NBL Championships, a Grand Finals MVP and his number 21 being retired. Not bad for a guy who was cut from his high school team. Copeland shares great stories about growing up in ATL, Georgia State, Willie Brown, journey to NBA, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Rick Mahorn, Hersey Hawkins, Michael Jordan, Larry Johnson, Andrew Gaze, growth of NBL and MUCH more. This was truly an honor to learn more about Copeland's basketball journey today. His story is one that will help and inspire a lot of young athletes who may have been cut from their teams but still have a deep love and passion for the game. This is the ultimate success story from never wearing a jersey until college to raising a jersey to rafters. We know you're going to love this one!Thank you Lanard Copeland! You can find this episode on Apple, Spotify or any source for podcasts.Follow us on social media!Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/notin.myhouse.79Instagram- @Not_in_my_house_podcastTwitter - @NOTINMYHOUSEpc

In which John Heilemann talks with Claire McCaskill, former two-term Missouri Democratic senator and current political analyst for MSNBC. Heilemann and McCaskill discuss the Senate passage of Joe Biden's $1 trillion infrastructure bill and its outlook in the House, along with his proposed $3.5 trillion expansion of the social safety net; whether Biden is doing enough to press for voting rights legislation in the face of a slew of GOP efforts to curtail them; an array of gender-tinged topics, from Andrew Cuomo's resignation and McCaskill's own #MeToo experiences as a young state legislator to the epidemic of sexual assault in the military (an issue she sought relentlessly to address in her time in the Senate); and politics in the Show Me State, including the futures of ultra-conservative Senator Josh Hawley (who defeated McCaskill in 2018) and ultra-progressive St. Louis congresswoman Cori Bush. McCaskill also waxes hopeful about the playoff prospects of her beloved but underperforming St. Louis Cardinals, and professes her (as yet unrequited) love for Charles Barkley.
